Our financial advisor recently informed my wife and me that he was transferring our IRA’s and trust account to Schwab. Got a call today from advisor indicting my wife needs to call Schwab to give some type of information. They would not deal with him saying she had to call. She called gave new account number and then some info. Representative said then woukd have to answer more within a certain limit. Then said she had to go into a Schwab office. She explained has back situation and having surgery soon and essentially homebound. Continued to say have to go to a retail office. Spoke to a supervisor who essentially said same thing. Wife explained again essentially homebound, supervisor said have to go to retail office. Wife asked what problem is, since no problem with mine nor a trust account where she is a trustee. Supervisor said have to go to office, no other solution. She was the rudest supervisory person I have ever experienced and in my previous professional life dealt with very high ranking supervisory personnel.
Schwab should be embarrassed to treat potential clients in this manner. Because of situation I guess Schwab does not want our business. There is no way my wife can reasonably go to a retail office in near future. I’ve told advisor to cancel, both IRA accounts and Trust account.

Desired outcome: Inform my wife what the discrepancy is and figure out a way to rectify it. If it were my company, I’d just sent a representative out to solve the problem.
