Cheap Caribbean Travel Credits
I am writing today concerning travel credits issued by Cheap Caribbean.
We are currently working with agents at Cheap Caribbean to book a trip August 23-30, 2022. The agents are having problems getting our travel credits applied even though we have an email from Cheap Caribbean stating a credit balance of $1245.60 set to expire 17SEP2022.
The agents have given us partial travel credits and tell us the remaining balance will be applied, but as we approach the travel date we have not received any resolve.
When attempting to veiw the trip on Cheap Caribbeans web site it states we have to call the 800 number for further information. Seeing how we already have approximately 10 hours on the phone with multiple travel agents to no avail, I am hesitant continuing being this process of completing the travel arrangement.
Therefore I am in need of someone, in a position higher than the phone agents, to help with this issue.
Desired outcome: Apply full travel credit to scheduled trip.

Credit balance
I am writing today concerning travel credits issued during the COVID period. At this point I have been issued a credit for $742.30 which I was told by an agent was applied to reservation number 4G7110CJ. I was also told that a paper credit has been issued for $523.30 for a total of $1265.60. (See attached email from Yanelis Mendoza Castro. She sent me an email stating that I have a credit for $1265.60 that expires on 17SEP22.)
Reservation Number: 4G7110CJ
Total Amount of Payments USD $742.30
Balance Due USD $1,251.99
Deposit Due on 13JUL22 USD $765.53
Full Payment Due on 02AUG22 USD $1,994.29
I booked a trip to Aruba under the old Cheap Caribbean system with a record locator number [protected]. As a result of covid I used my travel insurance and canceled the trip and was issued a travel credit of $523.30. I then booked another trip to Mexico and canceled that trip under DT90A0CJ due to health issues and covid. Again I paid the travel insurance and later booked another trip under W6W1A0CJ to Aruba. In August of 2021 I spoke with Yanelis Mendoza Castro and canceled that trip. She sent me an email confirming that I have a travel credit for $1265.60 that expires on 17SEP22.
I have tried to book another trip using this credit. I am being told that I have only 742.30 to use and that $523.30 of my credit expired on June 30, 2022. I received nothing to change the amount of $1265.60 expiration date of September 17, 2022.
I have spent several days and hours trying to resolve this discrepancy. I spent over 2 hours on the phone on July 10 with first Jose then was passed to Rokue who stated he would call me back on Monday when he was able to explain to a supervisor our situation. He did not call me back so I called and spoke with Abraham. He stated he could see our credit (which he stated expired on June 30, 2022) and would attach a letter to make my account whole. Unfortunately the trip dates were no longer available so I asked if I called back Tuesday would another agent be able to fix the problem. He stated yes.
I called on Tuesday, July 12th ready to book and spoke with Juliana, Arnime and then Melissa Morales. I was on the phone for over 3 hours and was told there was nothing they could do concerning my credit of $523.30 because according to them this credit expired on June 30, 2022 but they can apply $742.30. I asked for supervisor and none were available.
I decided to call one last time on Wednesday, August 13th and was on the phone for five hours with Anyie Jimenez. She was able to book a trip for me telling me her team said they would honor the $523.30 credit and applied it as a paper credit. The system sent me an email showing the $742.30 applied but no other credit at this time. I noticed that when I login to my account the reservation is locked only to be viewed by an agent. The amount owed does not indicate any credit for the $523.30 I’m concerned that the credit will not actually be applied.
Please help me get the trip I saved in my Cheap Caribbean saved vacations to the Dominican Republic on August 23, 2022 resolved showing the entire credit of $1265.30.
I have the email stating my credit amount of $1265.60 but it won’t attach to complaint. For each trip I canceled timely and forfeited the fees paid for travel insurance. At no point was I told any portion of this credit would expire prior to Sep 17, 2022.
Desired outcome: Please correct the credit issue to state the promised amount of $1265.30 to the booked trip to Reservation Number: 4G7110CJ

Paid in full!! No reservation found
First, I want to say .. I’ve booked with this company many times before never had an issue. I recommend this company to my family members as well. The day that I got to Cancun, Mexico the hotel could not find my reservation. I spent 3 hours on the phone for a resolution and the staff was not helpful. The customer service guy was rude, not caring, and inhuman. The whole was ruined 😡 and I wanted my husband’s birthday to be special but they ruined it.
I will never use this company again not recommend it to anyone.

Cheap Caribbean Special Request
I am emailing you because the link I received with my special request was not helpful at all. I clicked the chat link and was in contact with Chirag who couldn’t answer my question about the hotel price. (This the second time this happened with him). He told me multiple times to contact the reservation team and when I did, they were also unable to answer the question because that was Chirag’s job to answer. I received an offer on Wednesday 7/6/22 (after calling Tuesday 7/5/22) and it expired Thursday 7/7/22 because my questions were never answered in order for me to accept. I called again 7/8/22 after it expired and they had to send a new request which I received later on 7/8/22. I just wanted to know how much the new resort price was, not including cancellation fee or any other penalties.I clicked the link again in the new request and I got Chirag again who could not answer my question and I had to call reservations again. He gave me an email to the worker who contacted the resort for the price, but my offer is about to expire once more because Cheap Caribbean workers are unable to answer my question and it is unfair of me to have to pay more each time because of that. I cannot accept an offer if no one can explain it to me.
Desired outcome: At the very least, I would like a response and for my first offer to be honored.I would also like some kind of financial compensation
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Booked a 50th birthday vacation to Montego Bay. I called BEFORE booking, requesting my final payment be extended by three days. I was assured it would be ok as I have every intention of making the final payment and not lose money. Called to confirm the extension after making the first two payments and was told there was nothing they could do and my trip would be cancelled. I have used cheap caribbean for previous trips and I am so disappointed.
Refund Package
I booked a package for my son and his family in late March. Due to several personal reasons we had to cancel the trip. A total of $1705 was paid but only $470 was provided back as credit and no cash refund given. CheapCaribbean stated the remainder was fees from American Airlines and any cash refund would have to come from them. I contacted American Airlines but they advised the flights were part of bulk booking by CheapCaribbean and that they should handle all the refunds. Also, the booking was before April 1 and at the time flights are not charged fees for cancelations and refunds can be issued. It has been extremely difficult to get a representative on the phone to resolve the matter and have my money refunded.
Desired outcome: I would like to have my payment of $1705 refunded.

Refund
To whom it may concern,
I have filed several complaints against CheapCaribbean. Below is a screenshot of what I received before you replied to me. It stated that I have credit with CheapCaribbean for $2,643. I tried to use the credit but the hotel that my family are staying at is booked and based on the allocated rooms that CheapCaribbean was given it was not available. A representative said they would contact the hotel. When someone else contacted me, they said I need a reservation number. I didn’t have one because I couldn’t make a reservation on a book that was not available.
Now, I’m worrying why I was told I have a credit for $2,643, and now you are telling me there's a penalty. There was not a penalty until I mentioned I needed a refund. When I contacted the airline, they told me that CheapCaribbean didn’t pay for the ticket and I canceled about 3 months in advance due to Covid. Also, American Airlines told me that the fee of $200 could be waived if CheapCaribbean requested it. I think CheapCaribbeann did request it and that’s why they were telling me I have a credit for $2,643, and I can use any airline I choose.
Again, there is too much inconsistency with CheapCaribbean. I believe, based on the information that was shared with me, my money of $2, 643 is rightful mine. Therefore, CheapCaribbean still owes me $800. I’m very frustrated, disappointed and upset.
I hate to say this, but I feel like CheapCaribbean and I are in a mentally abusive relationship. Furthermore, I’m trying to get out, but CheapCaribbean don’tw want me to leave and keep telling me thighs to keep me around. Everytime it’s something different, but I’ve had enough. Finally, CheapCaribbean is letting me go but wants to penalize me enough, though it’s my money. This has been a learning experience and I would never book with CheapCaribbean again or advise anyone else. This is a true nightmare. I shared this situation with my students, so they won’t make the same mistake. I wasn’t asking for a free trip. I was asking for what lawfully belongs to me. Not only that, but I’ve never fought so much in my life to get what is rightfully mine.
Desired outcome: Refund of my $800

Refund
Booked vacation and cancelled within allowed time frame.Received email that a refund would be issued however after more than one year, received no refund.Contacted the company, they said they issued credit which are due to expire at the end of June 2022. Have called many times, place on hold for an hour only to have them ultimately hang out or state if they come back on the line, that a refund will be issued and so far nothing after several months. Have emails from them either stating that they will refund or that I have credits. When I called them the last time to use the credit as I gave up on the refund, they stated that the credits have expired. I have kept all original emails and plan to pursue legal action. No accountability, this is truly a scam.
Desired outcome: Refund requested

6DM500CJ This is our trip booked though you.
We booked a trip for our 35th wedding Anniversary and stayed at Mystique St. Lucia by Royalton. We were extremely upset with our accommodations. I have pictures of the ceiling outside our room where it had collapsed and it laid there the entire week we were there. We had no hot water in our shower for 3 days and could not get any wash clothes for much of our stay. There were exposed electrical wires and cabanas that were half falling down because the screws were missing. These are just a few of the issues that we had. The manager of the resort had us sign a document to not release these photos and we were to receive partial refund for our trip. I have a copy of this document and the photos. I have tried contacting you at [protected] (which is the number I was given) and all I get is a run around. I would like to get this issue resolved without having to go the legal route. I have enclosed just 2 of the many photos. Please contact me at [protected]@gmail.com or [protected]. Thank you Jean and Robin(Bob) Chant

$200 refund that I was promised and to which was owed to be for a past trip
Went on a trip to Punta Cana 7/10/21 thru 7/17/21, and was promised by Mr. Steve Dumaine that $300 refund would be sent to me, which was owed, and I only received $100. I thought he was a man of his word but apparently this was not the case as I have sent several letters to him regarding this without a reply--very disappointed and definitely will not be using this company in the future.
Desired outcome: Please refund and I would greatly appreciate a response, thank you

Travel cancelled due to covid - strict rules and unreasonable expiration on credit which was given due to cancellation
Made a phone call to customer service recently to discuss our
travel credit and the expiration. The hold time to get to a person is
extremely long it took almost 2 hours of our
time to try to get resolution over the phone, however, there was no
resolution - it was very frustrating.
We wanted to extend the expiration but we were told, "sorry, we already extended too
many times". To back track, we had a DR trip booked in 2019 but cancelled as it was in the midst of the mysterious deaths of vacationers at the resorts at that time. We were given a credit which we used to travel to Jamaica in 2020, however, there was a balance remaining which was not refunded but given as another credit, so we booked a trip to Turks and Caicos. Then, the pandemic happened right at the time that trip was booked for - there were travel restrictions and we couldn't go even if we wanted to. My husband re-booked for the trip for this year in error (he meant to book it for next year, but when he called back they said it couldn't be extended that long) and we just received notice that we must travel by next month or it will expire. There is no way we can book a vacation out of the country for next month.
I'm not understanding how there can be an expiration on a credit that
had to be given because of the pandemic? We would have used it
long ago if it wasn't for the pandemic - that is not our fault a pandemic is out of our control. And, now we are told we
have to travel by next month or we will lose our money. Close to $5K. I'm hoping this is all just a misunderstanding. We eventually would like to travel, but not in the near future. Right now there are still new cases of Covid, a rise in cases, new variants, I care for my elderly father in
my home - he is high risk, so I don't feel safe traveling anytime
in the very near future. I don't understand why we can't be refunded in this case. During the last phone conversation with customer service, we were told sorry, we can't do anything for you - you will have to email [protected]@cheapcaribbean.com. I have emailed that address 3 separate times now, but I get no response. Our "deadline" is approaching and I feel like our money is being held hostage with a demand to travel by a certain date whether you want to or not. That does not seem reasonable. Booking number is [protected].1
Desired outcome: All I am asking is that Cheap Caribbean work with us on this. We can't travel in the near future. A refund of our balance would be appreciated.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I have recently had similar experience with Cheap Caribbean and their affiliates. My original trip was booked for March 2020, whereby COVID cancelled that trip. I was extended to December 2020 with COVID still cancelling almost all trips. It was then extended to April 2022 where I tried to use it for a cruise and was denied as the original was for a land vacation. This still doesn't make sense to me. In return, it was extended to June 30, 2022, where I reached out a number of occasions, sat on the phone either on hold or with a person for hours just to get hung up on and start all over. I requested a supervisor call me directly and was told the request was submitted, all before the credit "expired". The supervisor never called either. Now I am being told that the travel credit is no longer valid as I did not book prior to expiration, though I attempted to do so. The original booking is [protected] for the amount of $ 6237.76, not a negligible amount.

Desired Outcome: I would appreciate they stand behind the credit and allow me to book the trip, with hopes that COVID and their lengthy call times and frequent hang ups do not interfere in doing so.
Flight cancelation
My booking Reservation: 4DX600CJ, flight were canceled from Frontier airlines and now i am being asked to pay additional $1200 to rebook with a different carrier. I have been on the phone with different departments multiple times holded for hours, been lied to to call back here and there, have asked multiple times for a manger and they are never available and will never call me back. I am horrified and extremely upset how this company is handling an issue they created, not ME. I will follow this legaly and all over social media if no resolution is obtained
Desired outcome: Want my flights rescheduled to my original booking dates whe i don't have to pay any extra fees.

Credit
I received an email from Cheap Caribbean
"Hello!
Thank you for choosing Cheap Caribbean! We reviewed your reservation as requested and found there was an error on the part of our agent. While the agent advised you could book your air credit until 3/31/22 and travel later, that is not the case. American Airlines does state that you must complete your new travel by 3/31/22, not make a new reservation by that date. As a customer service gesture, due to the agent error, we will provide you with the same amount of your expired air credit in Cheap Caribbean credit. We will also extend the credit expiration date to 8/30/22. At this time, you now have $2614.60 in Cheap Caribbean future travel credit, valid until 8/30/22. This credit is good for any package Cheap Caribbean sells and you may use any airline you wish. You must complete your new travel by 8/30/22. After 8/30/22, all unused credit will be forfeited and cannot be extended any further.
If you have any questions or would like to rebook using your credit, please contact us at [protected] and an agent will be happy to assist you."
That was great until tried to book for my end of July trip and found out the rooms are not available. We are having a family reunion and the hotel is not available because they are allocated a certain amount of rooms.
Again, I want to know why I can't get a refund. It is so much easier on my end and I have been battling this issue with them since 2019.
I went ahead in March and made a deposit on a room through the hotel in Jamaica that my family is staying at. Therefore, I just need my money from Cheap Caribbean so I can just book directly with the resort. Cheap Caribbean is not losing any money for the airlines because the airlines are not involved anymore. It's my money that I worked hard for and I just want it back. I'm frustrated, tired, annoyed because I've done a lot of business with Cheap Caribbean but I won't anymore. After this is finished I will only book directly with resorts. I have gone through a lot over the last several years. I just need my refund.
Desired outcome: A REFUND

Worst vacation ever-rip off
It would take me a day to write everything that went wrong from the begging.
Long story short… I spent 6500 for a trip that’s an absolute nightmare - our place has a leak in the room, broken bed, we can’t eat anywhere for 4 days because (everything was booked for restaurants) i’m in dr with 2 kids. The day we arrived we tried to make reservations to restaurants and they said we can’t go anywhere because they are booked. The food at their “bar” is nasty, no one here to give me info about our transportation coming back. For covid test… well it’s at same room as their daycare with million kids. I’m only here 2 days and have 3 to go but so far… the worst experience ever for a lot of money. And yes… I did email cheapcaribbkan. No response yet. Oh and I did forget to add that we were not allowed on our flight because we were “late” (we arrived 2 hours before) had to wait 5 hours to get on a next flight that was a “stand by”…

Hotel accommodations grand palladium jamaica 3/22-3/26.
Mini bar empty. called three times to get it stocked, came 2 days into 4 day trip w/water and soda only. No alcohol. Fridge didn’t work Only sheets on bed. Called 5 times>Got blanket on day 3. Never had clean sheets. We did not have bath mats. Reused coffee mugs. Much of vaca spent trying to get services they had offered in their website. Terrible
Desired outcome: I would like to have at least a credit toward another vacation with Cheap Caribbean. (Could not list all in above explanation due to character limit)

No refund / no extension / no service
Booked 2/18/2020
Canceled 4/11/2020
Travel date 7/14-22/2020
Hotel Rui was closed because of Covid
I booked this trip for my family and was not able to attend because of Covid therefore we canceled as soon as possible. Shortly after I got pregnant and was unable to travel. I contacted Cheap Caribbean and they said I would have credit with them. I told them I need a refund. I went to my credit card company and filed a dispute. Cheap Caribbean battled and won. They said the flight was not canceled therefore I could of traveled. I told them Rui Jamaica was closed due to Covid and I couldn’t travel because I didn’t have a hotel to stay at. I told them I would just take the penalty of $200 for each person air ticket because I couldn’t travel and I would lose $800 but that was better than losing $2600. I contacted them by phone and email. Tom was supposed to call back in November of 2020 because he said he was going to contact the airline for a refund. I never heard back from Tom. I have called Cheap Caribbean at least a dozen times and always get a different answer. Recently my mom called and they said if I book before March 31, 2022, I can use the credit that I have with them. Then I called and they said I have to use it before March 31, 2022. My mom called back and told them to check the recording because that is not what was stated. This is an international flight and I can’t just pick up, leave my job for 2 weeks to use my credit. There is a shortage of teachers and it’s hard to even find a substitute teacher to cover my class. I asked Cheap Caribbean if I could get an extension because I’m planning on traveling from July 29-Aug.9, 2022. First, they said yes, then they said no. A representative told me to call American Airline and ask for a waiver or extension. When I called American Airline they told me they can only see that $195.50 was paid and that I have to go back to Cheap Caribbean for an extension. They said to tell Cheap Caribbean to contact their sales support team because they can do the extension. They also said to ask for a supervisor but every time I do one is not available. American Airlines said Cheap Caribbean doesn’t like to contact the sales support team and if they don’t have to contact the phone number to call American Airline. Recently, Cheap Caribbean extended the hotel stay from March to now June. I have been booking with Cheap Caribbean for about 7 years and never received such poor support. I think of myself as a valued customer and my parents, aunts, and cousins have used them. I don’t understand how they can keep my money and refuse to work with me. I’m not asking for a free trip, I’m just asking to use my money to schedule an upcoming trip or just a refund because it is my money. I’m frustrated, tired, annoyed, and disappointed. I can’t believe I have to fight this hard for my own money.
Desired outcome: 1. Refund2.Extension on travel dates so I can travel 7/29-8/9/2022
I booked a trip to Jamaica for my family and because of Covid we canceled before the trip in July. I disputed the charges twice with my credit card company and Cheap Caribbean said they would give us credit. I got pregnant and didn't want to travel. I asked Cheap Caribbean for a refund. I spoke to a man named Tom and he said he will look into it. I still haven't heard back from Tom. I contacted them and they told me since I canceled my reservation there would be a $200 per person air cancellation. I told them it was fine because I couldn't travel with a newborn during Covid. Cheap Caribbean sent me and several others an email that we can book before March 31,2022. Prior to all of this I have emailed, called, and chatted to try to get my reimbursement. Today, 3/17/2022 they told me I have to travel before March 31 but a week ago they told my mom I have to book before March 31, 2022. I'm planning on going to JA this year, July 2022. They told me I had to book and travel before then. They extended credit for the hotel from March to June. They have my money and don't want to give me a refund or extend my travel date. They told me to call American Airlines and ask them for a waiver or extension. When I called American Airlines, they said I need to contact Cheap Caribbean because they hold my ticket. I received an email from Cheap Caribbean stating the following on 1/3/22.
Hello Candice,

They keep giving me the run around and don't want to help. I'm very disappointed with them. It's not okay for them to keep my money and not assist in my travel. I'm a school teacher in SC and I value every dollar I make. I will never book with them again. I have booked six times with them prior to this. I guess being a valuable customer doesn't mean anything either. Something must be done. I'm still trying to travel.

9. American Airlines said CheapCaribbean holds my ticket and all they see is that $195 was paid in cash. Therefore CheapCaribbean can do an extension by calling Customer Care System. American Airlines told me to talk to a supervisor bc they can do it but they don’t like to do it
10. CheapCaribbean has disappointed and I will never use them again in my life. I’ve use them about 6 times and this never happened

not getting proper credits
We booked a trip with insurance. Had to cancel. The credit received is less than what the insurance guaranteed. Two workers promised us they would correct the amount in the system. This has not happened.
We have spent a unreal amount of time trying to get this rectified. We are talking about a difference of approximately $900.00.
Desired outcome: Corrected amount of credit for future trip
Rip off poor customer service
Had an issue and contacted them on 02/1/2022 and as of today 3/8/2022 still no response nothing has been done. Book a hotel only to get there and the whole room is flooded with mold! Been calling since 02/1/2022 to this company and hotel. Even contact the ceo Steve Dumaime still no help. I wouldn’t recommend this sorry [censored] company to my worst enemy!
Desired outcome: A full refund!
