No Customer Service
Quick to take money but you cannot resolve an incorrect billing. There is no one to speak to about errors in ordering background checks. You can't even email anyone. Only a chatbox that has prescribed questions that you must choose from and then it sends you to articles on the website. I can't believe a company can service clients without a phone number or even an email address?
Recommendation: If you can't contact them in any way I wouldn't use them.

I was working as a delivery driver in GrubHub for more than 1 year. As I received new driver's license, I uploaded it to my personal page in GrubHub drivers app. Then GrubHub started a new background check from Checkr I don't even know why because as mentioned I was already working. The background check information from Check had mistakes that's why GrubHub fired me. Mistakes were: 1 expired license - but I have current 2. my fault accident - but it was not my fault. 3 wrong address and phone number . I contacted GrubHub immediately and proof documents but they rejected to work directly with me saying I need to change information in my background check with Checkr. I contacted Checkr since 29th April several times and waited more than a week to get correct background check. But after opening that background check on April 5th I found mistakes again regarding my address and phone number. I asked them to change, Checkr said no, despite I sent all proof documents ago a week ago. That's how this Checkr works. Completely unreliable company and why the GrubHub , Door dash and some other companies still believe it ? Isn't there any other company ? I was fired from GrubHub and sitting 2 weeks without job.
This is probably the worst company I have ever encountered in my life. Its been 4 weeks and Im still waiting. The last two emails they responded too were claiming they were waiting for these counties to release information, which I find hard to believe because I have absolutely nothing on my background. Im so frustrated because for the first time I my life I found a job that I truly like and now Im waiting on some third party company to start my careerthats crazy.
Like many others on here I am also waiting for this company to complete pre employment check. It has been well over 40 days. I'm a event bartender waiting for completion for a state university bartender job. I have already been hired to bartend for a *** and their background check was completed in 3 days. Don't understand what is going on. ?

I have dealt with this company on several occasions and each time is the same thing they keep reporting the wrong information on my background and take over a month to get this situation resolved. I have to go and do the legwork myself in order to resolve the issues that are being reported inaccurately on my background check. In addition to the fact that the customer service line you have to keep calling back repeatedly in order to get through. However if you call as a client you are directly connected to someone who stays they can help you and you have to be transferred to the customer service line which takes forever to get through once again because you have to repeatedly dial the number and select the proper options in order to get to someone. Then when you finally do get through to be put on hold you are put on hold for over an hour only for the call to be disconnected. This company as many have explained is the worst company to do a background check with Lyft should be ashamed for dealing with a company like this one. Please dont try to blame it on the pandemic because you guys have been like this atleast since 2017. Im losing money because theyre not competent enough to complete your request in a timely fashion.
Very unprofessional. When one receives a email weeks later from them rubbing an adverse action in your face is something that no one needs to deal with.Come on it is bad enough to receive that notice from another company. Then almost two weeks go by and receive email out of the blue that states:We noticed that you received an "adverse action" notice from your latest application with Uber. This is because of a charge found on your record.Wondering why we sent this to you? Because everyone deserves a fair chance at setting their record straight.We wish you the best of luck,- Checkryes directly quoted email to show how it was word is very insensitive by the words that was used. I know I did not appreciate that email when I already knew from the check in the first place and they did not need to send another email like that to me.Be warned that they will rub you past in your face like you will never be able to amount to anything. yes the only way to remedy the adverse action is to get a pardon which you may get or not depending on the state you are in.
Inaccurate information being reported. Their system does not do any sort of cross check to verify dates to name changes. For instance I obtained a last name due to marriage. Business that rely on Checkr can suffer greatly with legal issues due to false and accurate information for businesses. Numerous times the information Checkr acquires is unregulated information that is completely false, wrong and mis-represented. Checkr claimes on their web site the information they provide is 100% guarenteed accurate. 99% of the time Checkr claims they receive their information from the courts. It most cases not true..Checkr is breaking so many state and federal laws its un-real. Uber and Lyft are also breaking major federal and state laws by using checkr for background checks on drivers with criminal incidents that have occurred even on expunged and cleared records by a court judge as far back as 30 years ago and deactivating their driver accounts. Yes the information is public for anyone to view but. Under *** law. Convictions and arrests that are more than 7 years old cannot be included on a background check in the ***. This is common business practices for the company Checkr. Checkr goes beyond 7 years. CA Labor Law code ***. Ride share companies aren't allowed to use incidents towards drivers that have been dismissed or sealed convictions. Checkr is known for given information in their background checks to ride share companies such as Uber and Lyft about drivers that have been dismissed on their convictions and then Uber and Lyft deactivate drivers for sealed and dismissed convictions. Which is illegal in the state of ***. Uber, Lyft and Checkr offer no help to regain drivers with their driving Uber And Lyft accounts on convictions that have been dismissed and sealed by a judge in the state of ***. Uber, Lyft and Checkr this is common practice *** it's illegal! And yet they continue to do it.
They have my information tied to my twin sisters as if we are the same person. They wont do anything to fix it. We have sent them our information showing we are different people and everything.

The absolute worst performing company ever. How did they ever get contracts from Uber and Lyft? Everything written about this company is *** waiting over 4 months for a stupid little background check, to navigating the intentional maze they have created if you try to call them. It all points to the same unethical and fraudulent scam that is occurring at Checkr. With this amount of very questionable activities going on, I am not certain that my private information is safe with them. How can they be trusted to safeguard my info when every detail about their services, performance, and quite frankly the demeanor of their employees screams Scam? I see the basis of future litigation forming as a result of this. There has to be some highly unethical relationships between Checkr and Uber/Lyft for these companies to allow this to continue. It would not surprise me if in the near future if we read about how millions of employee candidates had their personal information that was sent confidentially to Checkr sold on the dark web. I have been waiting on Checkr since July 10, 2022 to recheck my drivers license since it was not updated when they did the first background check. How can it take 24hrs for a full background check criminal and driving but almost 30days to check the license. This how I support myself by using Uber. Intentionally leaving disputes laying around until the exhaust date is wrong. If you haven't recognized everything cost people are living out of there *** sakes. Blocking people from taking care of themselves is wrong. I believe Uber pays extra for the disputes otherwise why does it always take up until the last day. I don't recommend just do to the lack of communication and they intentionally hold up accounts. Ridiculous
I would rate them lower than 1 star if possible. Used outdated report for a recent candidate submission. I attempted to contact them and selected a call back. I live in EST. Their hours are PST. I received an automated call back at 4pm EST saying they are closed for the day that states their hours of operation are until 4PST. They have no actual way of communicating with them or getting anything fixed within a reasonable time. All their options when you call them basically lead you to an automated hang up
IN my belief, companies pay this company to do backround checks on future employees, i would never in my life would use a 3rd party company like this , i have a applied and received an employement offer to find out this 3rd party clearence company is holding me up for a job. that i need to pay my bills. if your company is that short staffed either pay them more money or get out of the business. cause you are not helping the businesses that contracted you , cause you are holding them up to get there employees in and working.

While I could not get an email response, every time I talked with a rep I was told the support team should of contacted you already. Low and behold I get the same run around today, and told well it may take another 30 days to complete ( a line I feel is BS, as this company has did nothing to try and right the problem at hand. ) Im pretty sure by the absolute number of people in these reviews, let alone other reviews sites, that have been screwed out of employment that we have a very sizable class action on our hands if we can find a lawyer. I submitted my information on May 5,2022 to drive for amazon flex. I have emailed this company at least 5 times to ask why my background check is taking to long, I have NOTHING on my record. My dmv record is 100% clean as is my criminal record. I have never even received a ticket, nothing! Yet here was are *** 28,2022 and I am still waiting for them to finish my background? They did my Lyft background and it was back within 5 days, yet they cant seem to finish my amazon flex background. None of this is making any sense and they keep you from speaking to a human. I am broke and unable to work because of the lack of communication and I also feel they have pushed me to the side because I have emailed them asking why this is taking so long. Their go to excuse is covid and new laws. If they were able to complete my Lyft background within 5 days, why is my amazon flex background taking so long? Someone needs to look deep into this ridiculous company. No one cares that I am about to be homeless.
I am writing because I, like many others, have had issues with Checkr, Inc. delays in providing the background check which prevents me from going online with driver apps. Despite a multi-billion dollar valuation largely due to its relationship with Uber and Lyft, they won't hire people to answer the phone or respond to tickets or emails or communicate at all with customers or people having their background check done. They claim on their site there is a number to call but NONE OF THE OPTIONS allow you to speak to a live person; that claim alone is FRAUDULENT. They also give you the option to submit a ticket and they only respond with a stock generic machine generated response and don't have staff that will actually look into your case. These claims that you can contact them are conscious lies. They are getting sued all over the place for false or inaccurate information in their reports so instead they have chosen to just delay, delay for many many months (almost a year in my case) and refuse to provide a basic background check to Uber or Lyft so that I can work. This is not a joke this is the livelihoods for thousands of people they do this to and yet they are playing games and being dishonest as a company & refuse to hire the staff necessary to do their job. I don't understand why major corporations work with this company (clearly they should look elsewhere) and there is a reason their avg. Complaintsboard.com customer rating is 1 star. I have no criminal history and an excellent driving record. My background check should be simple and yet they have not provided one. Their CEO gaslights constantly. I drive for Lyft. In 2019 Lyft ran a background check and I passed with flying colors. Last night on Tuesday December 14th at 8pm. I received a notification from Lyft that I could no longer drive for Lyft because there was a message that there was an issue with a background check from Checkr. I reviewed my background check and there were 5 minor infractions (speeding tickets, failure to register my car, failure to get a new drivers license) all the way back from 2012. All of the *** had been paid and resolved. If not. I wouldn't be able to drive. I spoke with a representative from Checkr and they told me that they were unable to resolve the issues and that I would need to talk to a Lyft represenative. For the past 24 hours I have been getting the run around by both companies with no resolution. Lyft representatives tell me that its on Checkr to get this resolved. I spoke with a lady at the *** and she told me there was nothing on my record. It was clean. She told me to run a drivers license record report at the ***. I paid the $11 dollars to get one (money out of my pocket) and the lady at the *** was correct. I have a clean record. I have no idea where Checkr pulls there information from but its completely inaccurate. Its no wonder that Checkr has a 1 star review out of 5. Checkr has had more than 300 bad reviews as well.

No worries! I have been with Uber since 2018, performed over *** rides with a 5 star rating and was offered a position at the hub in ***. I was frozen when an email came through with all caps DENIED from Uber explaining that based upon checkr findings I was no longer eligible to access the driver app. I found out quick once you dont serve a purpose for Uber, your done. I didnt have access to phone numbers, support nothing. They finally responded to an email stating they do not look at the report but go off the recommendation provided by checkr. Checkrs response we do not make the decisions but simply provide the company who requested the check with our findings!But checkr makes it easy to file a dispute about their findings right? WRONG! I have been stuck in this vicious loop with them since June. After filing a complaint with the *** they did a typical copy paste response. I just want to know the answer to my question? Until I can receive an answer, I will continue to pursue it!If I have driven with Uber since 2018 and passed all background checks with no issues, how is it I am now denied due to something from January ?Just answer me instead of ignoring me. If only i could give a 0 star rating. Checkr to me a backyard background check company does not report what they should based on your DMV record. Why should an accident not cause by me have me liable not able to work for door dash. I've submitted documents and reports and pleaded with these people via email and phone both Door Dash and Checkr the two accidents on my report was not my fault and I understand its shown but it up to Door dash on my continue services with them. If Checkr really want to be a company that report good report and value and stand behind a mission for their company to have good reviews and possibly more clients. They really should not include not at fault accidents on records. They really got me heated today after speaking to a rep whom thank my push to try and get this handled. The fact I have a child and doing what I can in a honest way of making extra funds to support us, they both Door Dash and Checkr rip food and gas from us. All of that thank you, you really giving your all together this cleared up. Yeah and 10 minutes later they respond back in an email saying rejected. Ha. Yes I sent an nice email telling them to be sure to ask God for forgiveness for taking food from a child's mouth. I do not like this company with a passion on how they conduct their reports. I have recently applied as a driver for Uber and Lyft. Checkr reports that I have a misdemeanor violation for not parking within 18 inches from a curb per Nevada Ordinance. This simply never happened, so I went onto the DMV website and purchased a copy of my driving record. As I was filling out the form my SS# looked to be pre-filled (after I submitted other personal information). I noticed a note in RED that said SS# invalid, so I assumed someone at DMV made a typo error. I filled in my SS#, and the RED note went away. I proceeded to complete the application for retrieval of my driving record and obtained a copy of the report which showed no violations and a clear record (as suspected). I submitted the report along with a paid invoice for $8 (the fee for the report) with the same date on DMV Letter Head. I don't know what process Checkr uses to inquire to the DMV. If they pulled my report with the wrong SS# then they didn't get the right report. After 52 years of driving at 68 years of age, I am blocked from earning additional income to supplement my SS income. This system is unfair for blocking me from earning due to a few inches away from a curb (which never happened) No Ticket, No citation, No court date, No violations on my DMV record of which I have a copy that was submitted to Checkr twice ! As is customary in this day and age, I am unable to talk to a live person, and must rely on websites and Apps that do not work properly. Everything else on my background check was clear. I have no criminal record, have never even been accused of wrong doing my entire life. My vehicle is in tip top shape and all of documentation requested was valid and accepted. So I can't earn a few extra dollars to afford the basics in life because of an inaccurate report that my tire was a few inches more away from a curb than allowed by ordinance. Absolutely Ridiculous !

On January 22, 2022, a past hostile takeover by a company and its affiliates forced me to undergo numerous additional limbo attempts at re-entry for initiating new unauthorized background checks through Checkr. The delays in each background check were repeatedly blamed on a global pandemic from over a year ago, which apparently still affected the processing of an unnecessary check. Despite my proven ability to perform well in my job, the takeover company persisted with the checks. Communication breakdowns occurred via text, often from a bot or person named Hema. I requested two things before facing another unauthorized check: 1) I only wanted to work with food delivery, not UberX passenger service, and 2) I asked for all my records and documents to be deleted. Despite a recent message congratulating me on passing the background check, my account remained inactive. The final adverse action was based on outdated information from 2014, ignoring more recent data from 2017. The ordeal has taken a toll on my mental health. I've decided to part ways with Uber.

They don't deserve even one star! I drove for Uber Eats and moved from FL to GA. I uploaded my New drivers License from GA and drove for two weeks. Uber paused my app stating that Checkr was alerted that my FL license had expired (I dont live in FL)(I have a valid GA License). They would no longer communicate with me and I could only email Checkr. It took three weeks and then they couldnt even confirm what the issue was, only that it was paused due to expired license. In the mean time I signed up with Lyft with my new GA license and Registration/Tag etc. and went to work, only to find out that I was approved by Checkr! Whatha! So I went back and reinstalled my Uber Eats APP and still no reinstatement just investigating now 9 weeks later. So I searched how to delete my profile and two weeks later Uber emailed saying it was deleted. I went back on using another email but, all info was the same as before. You guessed it APPROVED! BUT, when I looked at my SO CALLED DMV report from Checkr, although approved, it stated that I had two CDL violations. I have never had a CDL. SooOOoo, I went to the GA DMV office and was shown that there was no such charges ever and I confirmed that there was no record of me ever having a CDL. I filed a claim with Checkr and they first paused me driving for Uber while my "CRIMINAL background" check was being reviewed so I couldn't drive and earn money and then today SOMEHOW they paused me from working for Doordash stating the same CRIMINAL BG Check. They are Snowflake children running that company and there is no telling how many people like me that they driven into the Poor House. I needed to work and they want to PLAY! The only positive that came from this, is that I wont have to drive for the idiots at UBER or DOORDASH. I was averaging $11.30 per hour while driving my car into the ground paying for the *** and upkeep...not to mention cleaning supplies and elbow grease. Avoid these companies at all cost. Not worth it!

I am writing because I, like many others, have had issues with Checkr, Inc. delays in providing the background check which prevents me from going online with driver apps. Despite a multi-billion dollar valuation largely due to its relationship with Uber and Lyft, they won't hire people to answer the phone or respond to tickets or emails or communicate at all with customers or people having their background check done. They claim on their site there is a number to call but NONE OF THE OPTIONS allow you to speak to a live person; that claim alone is FRAUDULENT. They also give you the option to submit a ticket and they only respond with a stock generic machine generated response and don't have staff that will actually look into your case. These claims that you can contact them are conscious lies. They are getting sued all over the place for false or inaccurate information in their reports so instead they have chosen to just delay, delay for many many months (almost a year in my case) and refuse to provide a basic background check to Uber or Lyft so that I can work. This is not a joke this is the livelihoods for thousands of people they do this to and yet they are playing games and being dishonest as a company & refuse to hire the staff necessary to do their job. I don't understand why major corporations work with this company (clearly they should look elsewhere) and there is a reason their avg. Complaintsboard.com customer rating is 1 star. I have no criminal history and an excellent driving record. My background check should be simple and yet they have not provided one. Their CEO gaslights constantly. My account was reopened in May 2023 after it was closed in November 2021, I was billed in June 2023 for $1,200.00 for minimum usage (inv 164000). The account had only been open for a month when I received the invoice. I have sent over a dozen e-mails to have this corrected without the issue being resolved.
The only response has been that Checkr payment team will get back to me.

I've been trying to get either uber or checkr to rerun a background check on me now for weeks. Apparently checkr ran a background check on me back in 2019 in January that was resolved in February. When I told checkr and uber that the issue had been resolved and I have a document to prove it, they said my issue was being escalated and I'd hear back. I haven't heard back and when I inquire about a ticket number or reference to my incident I get Nothing. I need this to be resolved more than ever now as it is my only source of income. So I had an issue where the courts reported criminal charges on my background. I fixed this with the courts so that this wouldn't happen anymore with showing up. I filed a dispute with Checkr and got no response and am still sitting here incapable of working because of their background check. They won't even look into or respond to my dispute. I want these criminal charges taken off the background check because if they rescan my background they will see that they are not there! They have zero way to communicate to a human being, and leaving a message or dispute is pointless because nothing is done. PLEASE FIX THIS! My livelihood is on the line here!

Company serves as a background check service but preforms illegal services. Background checks for employment should not show felony or misdemeanor charges after 8 years old in New York State. New York State passed clean slate bill. Company does anything they want because it’s a shell company. Even the government can’t stop the illegal practices preformed by company.

On 26 may I deposit the money from checkars to thyme bank, the cashier didn't give me the slip and also I didn't get the notification when I ask why there is no slip she say I must check ma balance which I did and there's nothing, the following day I went back to the store to ask for manager and explain ma story the told me to come back on Tuesday which it was 30th May. The manager take my details to do the follow up ans also I was doing my follow up by calling thyme Bank and the told me that I must go back to checkars course there's no transaction of deposit. It's like every week I go back to find how far still no help keep on telling me they are waiting for head office to respond.

I'm trying to work for door dash, but my application progress is halted at "background check in progress". It has been like this for more than a year, I really forgot about even applying. Now, when I go back to try and apply and finish the process, i'm stuck right here. I want to see a copy of my report or re-apply. Since it's been more than a year, I am unable to log in to the candidate portal at chekr's website. I can get no information. Every prompt when you call them only leads to a message telling me to log in to the portal, but I can't. When I tried the prompt for "innaccurate reporting", which the phone message says has live support, all I get is that they are too busy, and it hangs up on me. These people have all of my information; social security number, birthday, all of my background - and it is impossible to even contact them. I can't get this job I really need because of them, and I feel like this is a very unethical company that stops people from getting hired, and stops employer's from connecting with potential recruits. I can't even dispute the report or take any action at all because it says the report is more than a year old. At the same time, the request for that report or the report itself is preventing me from completing the hiring process! There is no way a company is so stupid that they forget to provide a way for consumers to contact them. Once that was completed (Sept 2021) I had a notifcation stating that a new background check was going to be started soon. I verified that the driver's license showing on the background check was my florida license (it was).It is *** on 10/25 and I received an email from checkr stating that my request to work with UBER was denied because (GUESS WHAT?) I had an inactive/ineligible driver's license. I have done what *** has asked. I verified with uber that they have the correct driver's license info. I have verified that my driver's license is active and eligible. I have spent countless hours attempting to remediate this situation because apparently its too hard for a huge company like checkr to do it themselves. Checkr continues to report criminal history in my background checks from *** and 2010, which is more than the *** rule of 7 years on a background check. They have refused to remove this information from my employment background checks and consistently reports this history dating back 13+ years which discriminates and bars my ability to find employment. I have contacted them and they emailed a response back refusing to correct their background checks as well as refusing to remove this history from any employer ran background checks about me.
On 10/21/2022 I had scheduled me a court hearing to see the judge about old traffic tickets that was on my record. After I went to court the tickets was dismissed and I was not assessed Fees per the United Stated *** who handed and dismissed all tickets off my driving record. Without notice Checkr ran my background when I was employed driving for Uber 2 weeks after I was approved to drive and now is reporting that I was arrested and charged and saying its public record. I called the the Judge and his secretary view my case and said everything was dismissed and I was assessed any fees and that's public record. I contacted Checkr with the message "Please updated your record or rerun the record. This was removed I contacted the court room today and they told me this. I was never arrested or charge for any of these traffic violations and proved it in court. They ran my record 11/27/2022 and everything was dismissed 10/21/2022 and the Judge saying it was all dismissed and no fees were assessed there is nothing more he can do. Checkr keeps running my old record and reporting false and inaccurate information. When I called the courts they keep telling me it was dismissed and removed Checkr did not rerun my record and keeps reporting that I have new charges and was arrested this is false information because I called Uber and Uber stated that what Checkr reporting on me and that is not true. Why haven't they fixed they're record if it says it was dismissed and removed.
I'm trying to get a background check(again for some reason) and the login portal is not letting me sign in with my social security number. Then when I go to contact support none of the information they give me does not solve the problem. There need to be actual people there to contact because checkr's automation system does not help or answer any of my questions. To make it worse there is no way to email anyone regarding my background check.

In September UBER initiated a background check renewal. It is now November 11, more than 2 month later and I am still waiting for clearance. A few years ago, my account was linked to another person with the same name living in Ohio, I reported corrected this information yet there seems to be no consistency in correcting any errors on the account managed by this organization. There is no guaranteed or definitive way to communicate with the company save a third party to any effective result. CHECKR does not respond to emails, nor do they respond to any phone calls. The automated system is a loop if misinformation leading down a rabbit hole. The company appears unstained, yet there is no way to contact them without them contacting you which seems fraudulent. There is no way to accurately check the status of one's pending report as the timing is scarsely updated. Again my report has bee reading Estimates complete time October 13th and is now over month past due but still says the say estimated, meaning the system is not closely monitored for update needs.. When a *** court grants an expungement order, all the information and records pertaining to your expunged charge or violation is removed from public access. This information will be erased from your criminal record and will not appear on any standard background investigation
Chekr pulled my MVR record which shows I have a active driver license. I recently had a suspension in Feb 2022 and ended Jul. 2022. *** sends my employee a message in these exact words "suspension failure to pay" so the employer took it as my license are suspended and removed me from their platform. I called Chekr and had to wait for 2hrs for a call back and a hour and half on hold to hear them tell me we will take a review and it will take up to 30. I went off and told them it didn't take 30 days to do my background check so why it has to take 30 days to fix a error that they made.

checkr sent me an email. it said my uber report is complete. I followed the link in the email to the checkr website. They showed me a completed report of mine for instacart from last February. The uber report was not complete and shows an estimated completion of 12/16/22. I attempted to use their help pages and took many screenshots in the process but their appears to be no ***) to address and resolve. This is unacceptable on multiple levels and I'm concerned for the safety of sensitive candidate data. The company Checkr ran a background check and driving record and provided it to Uber and on there were traffic violations from 2019 and 1 other incident from 2020 where a police report was created because I bumped into another vehicle due to rainy conditions. Nothing occurred, no property damage, no physical harm and no fine was given to me, and insurance payment didnt increase either. It was only a report although on the report it comes up as collision. Anyhow, Ive disputed this with checkr because its old information. and supposedly they update the report every year. I have not had any incidents on my driving record since 2020. I have kept disputing this since my account was deactivated in May 28. Its been 10 months and after every dispute they simply say they only generate reports and to call Uber. When I call Uber they say my account is deactivated because of the report that checkr continues to generate and that they cant do anything for me unless checkr generates an updated report. So basically Uber tells me to call checkr. And this is how Ive been the last 10 months. No one gives me answers and checkr says they create a new background report after a new dispute but really they dont. Every single report Ive gotten is the same with incidents from 2019 and 2020. And they claim they create a new one every single year. I need help with this. I dont have any criminal charges on my record, its only those traffic violations which in fact are outdated. There is nothing new on my driving record since then. I dont know why they dont want to provide me a new updated report that doesnt include those old traffic violations. I submitted to Checkr that my driving infractions were over 5 years old and per the *** they have been removed from my MVR therefore giving me ZERO infractions of any type. I also have NO criminal record. Chekkr triggered Uber Eats to lock me out of my account even though I have been actively delivering food for a year. This action had caused me financial harm and has removed my source of income. I need Checkr to release the hold placed on my Uber Eats account so I'm not homeless for Christmas.
The company is falsely reporting my drivers license status to all the companies that use them and refuses to correct the wording to accurately represent my license status. As you can see from the attached photos they are reporting incorrectly. This has resulted in the suspension of my Uber account.

They checked on me for another business have been working with for the past almost two years. This year 2022, I moved to a different state and within two months acquired a new drivers license. Three months after this they ran their background check on me and as an investigation company failed to even acquire a new drivers license. I am trying to apply with Uber. I. applied with Lyft yesterday and had to spend an hour on hold with Checkr just so they could tell me I needed to upload a physical copy of my SS card. I did that and now I'm good to go with Lyft. Now Checkr is saying there's an issue with my Uber application. Te site won't tell me what to do and the "chatbot" is totally useless. I began working with this company to perform background checks for potential employees. When they would check the background, I would get a note back that said "Clear" and "Complete" unless there was an issue. What I came to find out is that the ones that say "Clear" are not really clear. The state of PA uses their own system and while Checkr was using their system, they were not providing me with the results. I have to go to the PA system and obtain the results myself. This was NEVER explained to me at the beginning, and Checkr has admitted their wrongdoing in this instance. Furthermore, this only came to light because I was being audited by the state and Checkr was not providing what was required by the state, so when went to them and asked about it, it took a minimum of several weeks for them to tell me how to find this information. Yet, they are also telling me that I should have been looking up the background checks for PA myself!I have documentation of all of this. Most recently, I have been working with a Tier 2 *** Service agent named ***. He offered to provide me with a report of all of the background checks, so that I can go back and spend hours and hours doing what I was supposedly paying for all along. This report was requested weeks ago, and has yet to be produced.I have also emailed their Vice *** with no response.I am requesting credit of $2,463.49 which is the total that I have spent on background checks. NOT ONE of these reports is actually complete without me having to go to the state of PA and get the background check myself. This situation has put my business at risk and caused me hours upon hours of additional work. The inaccurate Checkr background check report has cost me nearly four months in lost wages. I have been working as an UberEats delivery driver for five years. I began in *** and then moved to *** in November . In order to use the driver app, you must upload a copy of your driver's license, car registration and car insurance. Once I relocated to , I promptly updated my information with Uber and had no hiccups. Then for some reason in January 2022, a background check was run and I got locked out of my Uber account with no detailed explanation. I was only told that Checkr was going to get back to them once complete. I contacted Uber and Checkr over and over for a status report to no avail. Finally on March 16th, I received an email with a copy of the report stating that I have no driver's license because my *** license has been surrendered. So THIS has been the problem all along. If Uber was notified 2yrs ago that I now have *** credentials, why is Checkr running a report based on information that is null and void? Due to this oversight, I am still unable to log into the Uber app and begin working again. As long as my background check status with Checkr is pending, I can't work. Uber has been my primary source of income and losing out on this pay has been a huge hardship for me and my family. I have been supplementing with DoorDash since the onset of my lockout, but their business is not as lucrative as UberEats and I come up short for my weekly goals. Checkr clearly is horrible at what it does. If the background checks are not going to be accurate, then what is the point of Uber using them? I have been a top earning delivery driver for UberEats for many years and have had no issues with my account until this. I would like a swift resolution so that I can begin working again. Neither Uber nor Checkr are taking responsibility for the error and oversight. I just keep getting bounced around between them.

Back in April, (4/4/22 @ 10:37 am) I submitted a background check in order to become employed with a company called Corner Shop. I immediately noticed that the status of background check completion kept shifting. It went from 4/9 to 5/9 and it was supposed to be completed by 5/14 (per check'r). Here it is 6/27 and my background check is still pending. When I reached out to Checkr's support team via email, they sent me the automated response below several times. That is it more likely that the company "Check'r" is probably just backlogged and can't reasonably complete its consumer background checks. The killer is that I had a background check completed with Check'r for a company called "Gopuff" and it was completed in less than 24 hours, two months prior to me submitting my background check for Corner Shop. This delay has greatly affected my livelihood as well as my ability to *** income from other company's such as (Uber/ UberEats/Cornershop) because they're all have background checks through Check'r. At this point, I have reached out to Check'r several times and have gotten no, new answers and updates and I am convinced my background check my be pending forever. Thanks for ruining my gig work career check'r.

Checkr does background checks on almost all major businesses (Uber, Amazon, Target, etc).. They illegally have an AI doing them without human supervision that is (unsurprisingly) sending out fake, false, and unasked for reports, also highly illegal. The staff and "support" are extremely rude and when calling they repeatedly try to get you to do things that will absolutely make the problems get worse, like turning off all your capacity to have backgrounds run through Checkr when much of the time they are the only ones who can do them for any given company. They laugh over the phone while people's lives are destroyed, like mine, who had been hars at work 5 years for a company that they work with, their system sent out a flawed background to my company and now I have no income. They have stolen *** from my income the past few weeks, *** im hospital panic attack visits and subsequent psychiatrist visits, and *** in late repair costs that would have been far cheaper than if my income had been stolen. Your support "employee" ***, who is WORSE than a robot or some outsourced dingbat, also LIED to me as I have official documentation that my company didnt ASK for a background check, but that's what she claimed. Your company is full of ***holes and one of the biggest ones is the *** owner of the whole company, I guess the attitude really is top-down.*** is the biggest fraud, building a "utopian, fast, and correct background checker" -- it's none of those things. *** is just another greasy dirtbag who profits on people's misery and doesn't actually care if his software functions properly. He won't, either, because he thinks with his chaga latte in his hand at the top of his SF tower that somehow he is above the law, or morality. Someone should shut this company down, its not borderline illegal it is *illegaland at this point far too often doing life-threatening things to people illegally.

I have been waiting since December 18 for my background check to be completed so that I can gain employment. Originally it said that it would only take 1 or 2 days then it went up to 15 to 16 days then it dropped down to 11 and 12 days and now it is back up to 16 to 7 days with the completion date of January *** that the completion date should be January 4 but shouldd be sooner. It does not take almost a month. It does not even take two weeks to complete a background check. I dont know if they are working with Amazon to intentionally block me from employment but I am not new to this background check thing. I was in the military I have had multiple background checks ran on me that took no time to complete and that is coming all the way up from the government not just this little system here. Furthermore, I recently had a background check done for me for Uber eats back in September and it took less than 48 hours so why Im getting 16 to 17 days is beyond me but I will not accept it! They are intentionally dragging their feet and prolonging this process to s*** people out of financial stability. Nothing has changed since September, I also have a copy of it that is up-to-date. Therefore, I do know that they are dragging their feet on purpose. Now, if they would like to simply issue the report from September to Amazon, so that I can start working, then that would be great but I do not have time to play games! Ive checked the status of it numerous times. I was told that it depends on what counties theyre looking in. Well, I know what counties theyre looking in and it does not take forever to get a background information on a person that has never even been in the county that they are looking at! My father is a police officer, my uncle is a lawyer I am very VERY familiar with how this process goes! I need to start work, and I need to start before the end of this week, and I am not playing around!

Hello Complaintsboard.com,Checkr is being unprofessional, with little to no transparency. I've been driving with Lyft and Uber off and on for over 6 years. I just moved to a new state so they have to do a background check again. On 11/15 the background check started. Checkr's prediction was up to a week's wait on their Candidate Portal. When that week ended they keep adding more and more days until they stopped and (SHY OF 2 MONTHS LATER) Checkr goes quiet.Checkr's Candidate Portal says "We are working hard to complete your report. You will receive an email shortly with more information." After a couple of weeks, I never got any emails from them, so I initiated and emailed Checkr. A *** got back to me and said the hold-up was that I needed to go to my local courthouse and get a driving abstract. The next day I went to my local courthouse, paid $10 and got my driving abstract, and emailed it to them. I got NO response from them after I emailed it, so I emailed it a few more times and left another email asking if they got it. The same *** got back to me and said it should be done soon. (going on the 3rd week now). That day is long gone and all of the emails I get now from Checkr (asking if I can help) when I email them are (robotic copy and paste) messages saying it should be finished soon.No one should have to wait anywhere close to 2 months for a background check unless maybe they are guarding the president of ***.Here are some misleading statements from their website:-Traditional employee background check companies take weeks to turn around a background check. Checkr helps make the hiring and background check process more efficient so you can increase your conversion rate. -Were constantly aware that our candidates are real people whose futures depend on our results.I want some honest human transparency from Checkr (live up to your company's statements) What is the hold-up and how can I help this along?Thank You!

On 11/18/2022 I applied to renew my driver license and took the required test online
On 11/18/2022 I applied to renew my driver license and took the required test online. I passed and paid the $39 fee.On 11/23/2022 my *** drivers license expired. I received a notification from Uber to update my document and provide my updated license. As a driver on the platform for the last 4.5 years, this is normal procedure. Checkr performs routine monitoring of all driving and criminal records. I have never had an issue.On 11/28/2022 I received another email from Uber stating that Checkr had began its background check process and adverse action may need to be taken. It mentioned that an email from Checkr would be sent within a few business days asking for more information or with the results. I never received that email.On 12/06/2022 I began the process to get my REAL ID. It took two weeks to get the necessary documents to receive this ID. Although my license was not valid any longer due to expiration, it was not revoked or suspended.On 12/09/2022 I received my new REAL ID drivers license and uploaded the information to the Uber platform. I still had not received any emails from Checkr.On 12/10/2022, I received another email from Uber stating that Checkr was reporting information that could affect my ability to be a driver on the platform. Again, I was told to wait for information from Checkr or to log in to their portal to get status updates. I tried using the portal, but according to the Checkr system, no new reports had been completed in the last 12 months. As for the email I was instructed to look out for, that email never came.On 12/11/2022, Uber notified me that Checkr completed its background check and to check their portal for the results and to dispute any inaccurate information. This would make the 4th email that I was supposed to receive but never did. I tried utilizing the portal and was met with the same message telling me no new reports with my correctly provided information had been completed recently.Checkr has not responded.

This happened 2/9/22.I applied for door Dash they reported inaccurate information find attach a criminal background check done by them for grub hub that was done a few weeks ago.By them being dismissed they didnt even place them on the report because both charges where dismissed meaning not guilty.You cant hold a dismissal against a person.That charge of resisting public officer an on May 12, *** district court on August 21 which resulted in a guilty verdict which I appealed on August 21 the same day. At the bottom where you have listed other sentences info the first word listed is appealed on Aug 21, 18 the guilty verdict trail by judge.Appeal means apply to a higher court for a reversal of the decision if a lower court decision.Which was then sent to superior court and filed on August 22, 19.On May 29, 19 the superior DA dismissed without leave which means that there is no permission to amend or refile a complaint, it is dismissed completely.(I won my appeal on May 29 which mean it reversed the decision that was made in the lower court of August 21.)It denies the party the opportunity to refile, such as to correct omissions or a lack of conformity to legal requirements. So you cant just pick a guilty charged that was appealed which it states in other sentencing info as that being the final decision on that case. It was only one charge that was heard in two different level courts. The district court case number was 18CR050837 which the guilty verdict was appealed. The case went to a higher court superior court which the case number was 18CRS050837 which is the same case in a different level of the court system.The s was added to the case number to show that it went to superior court.That is the final and only verdict dismissed which reversed the guilty verdict. So Im not guilty based on the decision of the higher court (superior court). You can just look at half of the information and make an inaccurate decision.

Last Thursday I reached out to Checkr as I was trying to drive for Grubhub again. When I reapplied, *** told me that I had to go through Checkr to refute that I am still not eligible to drive for them again. I haven't had any tickets or accidents in the last 4 and a half years so there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to come back aboard now. Nevertheless, they told me that the process starts with "refutuing" it via the Checkr portal. When I logged in my completed background check with *** was no longer available for me to refute it through as it has been more than a year old so I contacted them to let them know that I need access to it. I made it very clear to the girl that I spoke to at Checkr (they recorded the conversation and I guarantee if they pull it up you'll see that what I'm saying is true) that was only in regards to ***. I also mentioned to her that the only thing I can think of that would be an issue is my 4 and a half year old open container ticket could still be considered a major violation with ***. Please note that that is entirely different from me refuting the accuracy of my background check and saying that I didn't really have an open container ticket on the reported date and time. Checkr wound up contacting almost every company that I've ever applied for with them informing them that I am disputing the accuracy of my background check which I never was. Furthermore when I made it *** clear that it was only in reference to ***, why on Earth would they contact all these other companies? They got me locked out of Uber and cost me at least 500 dollars so far. Uber is my full time job. I called and emailed Checkr on Friday telling them to fix this and still have not heard a response. I'm still locked out of my account. They owe me 150 dollars for every continuing day that I'm locked out so as of today they owe me 650 dollars for preventing me from being able to work. Thank you for the help and understanding.
