I went to chicken licken Sparks Rd in Durban on Thursday evening as we decided to get take out. Our order that we received was shocking! The boerie burgers were almost black in colour and worse than rubber. The rolls that were sold to us was probably a week old if not more. My poor child was oblivious to how old it was. As for the chicken was stock that was probably standing there for a good couple hours. I will make it my duty to inform everyone i know not to support this branch on social media and word of mouth.

I have recently visited your Chicken licken branch at the Smith Street in Durban Kwa-Zulu Natal. I had an issue with my order being delayed as everyone else whom had placed their order 10 mins after me had received their order. Yet I was still waiting. When I brought it to the attention of the tall Indian Manager at the branch. I was spoken to very rudely and told to wait for my order as it had taken longer to wait. I was brushed off after waiting a very long time and was spoken to abruptly in front of other customers. I was appalled to see the Manager behave this way only to look directly at him to see that he was high and smelt of drugs. I'm shocked to learn that such a brand dealing with food for people employs people of such standard. I was spoken to very badly and insulted in front of other. Customers. I understand that the store was busy. However I don't think waiting over 15 mins for my food and then being told that I can see the store is busy and that the order does take longer to make is acceptable. There's a reason this is called fast food. I seriously suggest that the Manager of that store take a lesson in customer service and the company conduct a testing of drugs on the Manager to support my claim. I am a very disappointed customer.
franchise employee complaint
Dear Chicken Licken,
This is a huge Franchise complaint that needs to be attended to before I lose the remaining temper and focus on taking the matter to the media industry.
I am a former employee of the Chicken Licken franchise owned by Nizam & Fozi Mohammed in the Pretoria region at Cnr. Paul Kruger & Sheiding Street.
I was employed and dismissed by the franchise without warning because I phoned them on Monday the 4th September to let them know I will not report for work that day as I was taking my daughter to the clinic. On the second day, they forced me to write a resignation letter, I couldn't because I did not want to resign, but they wrote the letter on my behalf and claimed it was written by me. Fozi even told me she cannot work with people who have sick kids like me. Isn't this insensitive? then there's no way you can ignore this matter. Fine, I let that slip and continued working until the resignation stated, which was September 25th.
Now here's the real problem from the very beginning.
My first day as a trainer was on 16 Aug 2017. I was trained until the 22nd of August 2017. I started working as an employee on the 23rd Aug. In the interview, I was told I'm going to be earning R16 per hour. I worked 6 days a week and one day off weekly depending on the schedule.
according to the schedule, we worked 8 hours a day, and on sundays it was a double shift for me where I'd report for work from 08:30am to 22:00pm [except one Sunday on the 24th Sept 2017]. At the end of August, they were supposed to pay me for the 2 weeks I have been an employee, but they told me I will get my salary of august added to that of September, all was fine then I continued working until the last day, when I returned the uniform at the 26th of September 2017, I was told my salary will come in within a few days.
On the 28th, My 'What they call salary' came in and the following is the actual copy of it.

Now, How did she get around calculating that Salary for 8 hours of every 6 days a week for 6 Weeks, 8 Hours a Day for 29 Days and 14 hours every every 5 Sundays I worked there? That's not even half of what R16 Per hour in all those days would do.
I thought of going to Department of Labor, but an employee rumor has it that she (Fozi) bribes the Department (WHAAAAT?).
I have the copy of this message, and If nothing is done about this, then the whole world will know how Chicken Licken employees are treated as my next stop is eNCA.
bad attitude

I bought my meal via drive through, the lady (Thandi)taking my order was not getting it right, I was patient with her till the end...as I was driving to the second window, she makes a comment (saying that im busy changing my order) she said it with an attitude.
When I got to the 2nd window I asked why is she forward, she gave me an attitude and told her colleagues, then they all laughed saying im the foward one and they'll sort me out,
Im a client at the end of the day, I shouldn't be ganged and told I'll be sorted out.
When I get to work, I open my food and find very small pieces of meat.I feel I was disrespected, let alone wasted my money.
I bought 500ml of coke, got a can instead .I returned it and they gave me a 500 of Stoney, still with an attitude.
I very much not happy and was thinking of wring my story to hello Peter .

I went to Westgate chicken Licken, we placed an order, "feed my craving". Thabi the guy who served us did not bother to greet us, he was very rude, to the order and did not bother to inform us that the wings were not ready. He moved out of the counter in his brown slippers and spoke to someone and came back to serve other customers. 30 minstrel later when we questioned why we haven't received our order he doesn't bother to attempt to us as the person that initially served us. He straight out ignores us. His colleague only said "oh thank God I told my customers " no apology from anyone. Ended up asking for a refund. I can't believe I wasted 40mins of my time for nothing

Why are the wings so small and dry? I am a loyal wings customer but now I am getting put off honestly.
Spent just over R70 and it really wasn't worth it.The fries are dry and not fresh.

hot wings bought were abnormally small
I bought 36 pieces of hot wings yesterday, 11 September 2017 at Mall of the South and I was very disappointed when I got home and opened up the box, the pieces looked like they came from a baby chicken, abnormally small I didn't get my money's worth and I'm not happy.

I bought hotwings meal @ The Glen order no#3001 on 30 August 2017 @ 9:24 . Firstly the service from your staff at the 1st window was pathetic i felt as if you doing me a favour for serving whistl im supporting your business. Ignored that bcos I tot shes having a bad day.
Got my order to my surprise your toast heard white wools and i even took a picture because im not even sure whats on my bread.

Hi my name is Thomas, I ordered rock my soul 6 today at the Glen, when we get home we only found 5 pieces, and we could drive back to the restaurant, please advice staff to check our order even on the busy days. mini loaf/service
on friday 18/08/2017 i bought family full house 6, but when i arrive at home found that the mini loaf its not fresh also have a bad smell .going back to the store on saturday at about 3pm .i was helped by manager who did not have a name tag that y i can, t even mention her name, she was rude told me that the mini loaf its fresh compare to kfc its just that the supplier have put more yearst.first of all she have no name badge, rude and tell me about kfc of which i never mention any orther food provider .she did not apologies told me not to buy chicken licken anymore cause am gonna keep on returning miniloaf every day she took my slip and refund me R9.00, am not happy at all please deal with her and communicate with me also, i expect better form her as a a manager
the feathers on the chicken
We are from jhb and We bought chicken licken wings in Welkom and the wings still had feathers on them. We were soo hungry and trusted in your restaurant. We spent 80rand and had to throw the food away. Big disappointment from you guys as we always enjoyed your food. Won't bother again. ThisHi, I went to chicken licken Gateway on my lunch break to buy a burger I waited for 15minutes for my order, when they realized my burger was not done they didn't inform me I cancelled the order and I added more money to change the meal to something quick, when the manager came to authorize the at the till he didn't great me he didn't apologise he just looked at me. I asked them why not even a single person apologise for what they did, they didn't care. Their service is pathetic and their attitude disgusting, I was fuming when I walked out. When I was eating my meal I realized they didn't put a spoon to eat my salad.
chicken licken - food hygiene issues
My family and I went to the Chicken Licken at Cresta for a decent meal only to find we ordered feathers instead of actual chicken! It was disgusting to open both our hotwings meals as well as the original chicken and find unsightly feathers that were still on the chicken is enough to put us off chicken completely!
How do you quality check your chicken before it hits the fryer? Is this even being done? Your customers are spending good money to purchase a meal from you and this is what they get when they open one of your boxed meals? This is unhygienic and disgusting to say the least, the chicken also looked as if it was a day or 2 old! our family were huge CL fans yet lately we find the same poor quality of food across franchises like Bryanston off William nicol and cresta. I mean really aside from customers getting sick eating this, now we have to de-feather our own store bought chicken after it has been cooked? No.one wants to find feathers on their food and the rising complaints of feather served chicken from Chicken Licken is rising! Please don’t blame your poultry suppliers either because quality check should end at Chicken Licken!

Hi Chicken Licken. Today (14 July 2017) I ordered a Rock my Soul 3 straight from your drive through chicken licken, next to Romans Pizza in Alberton. I must say that the chicken was not satisfactory at all. The meat was burnt and hard. This is the second time that I have received bad product from that branch. I once ordered a Rock my Soul 6 piece with extra loafs but when I got home there was no chips or bread. I did not complain though because mistakes do happen. I am a big fan of Chicken licken because you have always given me good service and product wherever I buy but this time...it was poor. Thank you

hi. I ordered a Boerie burger and a rock my soul 3 from chicken lichen rosebank today at about 11.20am on 12 July 2017. the shop was empty with no one at the counter. 2 people arrived after me and received there food before me. during this time the ladies was having a fat conversation with each other while I waited for my food. while I was waiting I heard something beeping at the back and which was completely ignored by the ladies. eventually I saw it was burger patties which I prayed was not mine as it was completely burned. I eventually got to the office and opened the box to a burnt Boerie burger drowned in the yellow sauce dripping. I ended up throwing the burger in the bin as it was not edible at all. this was such a pitty as I've been told about how fantastic the new Boerie burger is. Hi, I am very unhappy with an incident at your store at boulders l, midrand, my family and purchased lunch, found a table and sat down to eat. bad service, staff have attitude and dry wings
Chickne licken in Centurion mall the staff there is rude, we get dry wings. We never see management and if there is management there that person is not doing their job. The staff do as they please and they are rude to customers. They give us dry wings I can count a number of times we got fresh wings (2 or 3 times). When you speak to them they give you dirty looks and they give customers very bad attitude. I am not understanding why they do this and I did complain sometime in March and nothing was done about it. I complained on their website. Its very wrong to do to people.

Standing in line at the Menlyn store at 19:45, a worker began closing the doors, and I was then told they are now closed, and will not serve me. I am surprised that this is the only outlet in the food court that closed early, whilst all the others are open. It is either the staff just stopped making the chicken, or it was a blatant refusal of service. Since there is no signage indicating open and closing times, staff take it upon themselves to close whenever it pleases themselves, and chasing patrons away.
