Sent wrong item- sweater
If you order and they send you the wrong item, be cautious, they hold you responsible for the shipping when they send you the correct item. So you pay for shipping on their error and then shipping for the correct item. I ordered a sweater, was sent a t shirt and they refused to refund the initial shipping. They then told me to return and order online. The item is no longer on sale and they advised I would need to pay for shipping again.
Desired outcome: Full refund. I refuse to shop at a company who doesn’t own their errors and are punitive to their customers

I purchased some items at the end of April 2022. I returned some of the items the day I received them as they did not work for me. Unfortunately Christopher and Banks states they have received the items but are having trouble with their IT department and to please be patient in waiting for the refund. It is now Sept 1st. I tried to make a dispute with my credit card company, but too much time has passed.
Do not return anything to C & B as you will not get your money back.

June10, 2022 returned two items. Approximately 4 weeks later I received a refund for one of the items and charged a return shipping fee (which was expected). I have now called 3 times to get an update on the rest of my refund 31.77. Each time I have been told it is a software issue and they can't process the refund for the second item. After the third call they refunded the return shipping charge.
Supposedly this issue was moved to a supervisor BUT I have yet to receive any follow up from someone at Christopher and Banks. I have been a customer for over 15 years. If they plan to stay in business they need to do better! I will not be purchasing anything from them again.
Desired outcome: I want my refund.

waiting for reund since May 2022
I returned a order in May 2022 and now have been waiting for my refund since then. I have called as of today at least 7 times and first it was they couldn't find it, then they found it and it was processed and should be received within 7-10 business days, then it was they moved to a new computer system and the 2 systems are not working together and they are having to manually put in the refunds and it would be another 7-10 business days (we are already into late June early July at this point). I have requested several times to talk to managers/supervisors which are never available and take up to 4 days to return a call. Ask to talk to a complaint department and was switched over and told they are taking up to 48hrs or more to respond. Called back and was told that the refund was processed wrong and was reprocessed with a case number (we are now into late July and still waiting) and to give them another 10-14 business days (giving them more time to hold onto my refund) to process, called back Aug. 1st told again it was computer error and the refund was processed wrong again- new case number assigned and please give them 10-14 business days to refund. As of today August 18 2022 STILL no refund and told again- no manager available and now they do not have a complaint dept to speak with AND give them10-14 business days to process my refund. I will never order from this company again after being a Loyal Customer for well over 10 years

Refund
I purchased three tops on 4/22/22 Customer #[protected] totaling $90.65. I sent all three back, Two for exchange to a different size and one I did not like so just a refund. I received a credit on my card for $29.24 for the returned top only. But when they sent out on 5-24-22 the two for exchange they recharged my credit card for $32.17 and $29.24 . So I paid for those tops twice! I have called/emailed weekly since and the customer service rep always agrees that they need to refund it and that they are going to put the refund through in two to seven business days and I never get it. I want my $61.41 refunded

Gift Cards
Christopher and Banks isn't taking gift cards online. The card I received in 2020 is worth $250. They can't just keep that money! There has to be a law that forbids them from stealing from so many people like this.
Desired outcome: Contact me and offer me the money back or an amount of it.
Quality
I've been a long time customer and have loved their clothing. But since they have started selling again, there is nothing good enough to order. Their clothes are not being displayed nicely on the website. They are too small for the models and need a good ironing. The material is cheap and not up to the old C&B standards. Too bad.
Desired outcome: I want their standards go back to the way they were before they closed their stores. I miss them.

Gift card
I had been shopping at C&B for many, many years. Loved their clothes. It was the only store I shopped at. I knew that when I tried on a size 6 pant or size S or P/M top...it was going to fit. Not so much any more. Clothes seem like they are frumpier. Clothes don't seem the same. Which is why I haven't ordered in quite a while. There wasn't anything I saw that I would spend my money on. And for the longest time, there wasn't anything new coming out. It was the same stuff. Now, with some new fall items, there are a few things that I loaded into my cart. Called customer service to ask where I plug in gift card information and found out they are no longer accepting them. I received no information about this...although customer service said I did...and now they have my money in their pocket. Was told no exceptions. This is bull. They are still doing business as Christopher and Banks. I understand not administering new gift cards, but they should honor the gift cards that have been purchased. There are no expirations on these gift cards. This is the same as stealing. C&B has lost a long time customer.

I purchased my wife $320 worth of gift cards for Christmas 2020. In January she was notified Christopher and banks went into bankruptcy and she could no longer use her gift cards. We were told in April of 2021 that they were trying to figure it out. Today we are told they are finished with gift cards and we have no recourse. It seems that their management is still operating with a couple of stores and on line, but not accepting gift cards which in Kansas have no expiration. Seems to me they are stealing money from former customers

quality of clothes and jewelry
I used to like C&B clothes and purchased many items through the years. Then I noticed the styles were getting frumpier and frumpier. My great-great-great grandma might have liked them, but I didn't. The cotton tops do not hold their shape and can generally stretch out to fit an elephant. The clothes just no longer fit well, along with shrinking and fading on some items. Oh, and the jewelry is junky and expensive. I purchased a number of necklaces and the links kept opening causing the necklaces to continually fall apart. I spent a lot of time trying to fix them only to have comel apart the next time I wore them. Very cheaply mad!. Sorry I wasted my money on a lot of their stuff. They keep sending me advertisements in the mail. I am trying to figure out how to stop all mail deliveries because I am no longer interested in C&B.

I have had trouble with your customer service line. Girls are difficult to understand mostly because they aren't talking loud enough, & also are asking questions for which I had already answered for them. Have spoken to 2 different girls & same results. Also, your online support has somewhat the same difficulties. They don't read all of my requests just part, which deals w/returning an item. If I call one of your stores, I get better results. If you want to keep your online service going, I would suggest you do some improvements to customer service. I have been shopping at C&B for years and I am a loyal costumer. I received a phone call about a friends and family sale on Thurs and Fri -10/3-10/4. I also received notice in the mail.
On Thurs 10/3/19 - I stopped at a C&B store in Clackamus Town Center near Portland OR. I am a RN, had finished a long shift and the traffic was terrible so I stopped off to shop hoping traffic would improve later. I will admit, I didn't fit the typical customer profile today. I had on my scrubs, it was raining so my hair was a mess and I know I looked ( and felt) tired ( you would too if you started at 4:30 AM). The store was not busy. The clerks did not greet me ...in fact they looked at me and turned the other way. A minute later, 2 people (appropriately dressed ) walked in and were greeted immediately. Very soon afterwards, a dressing room was started for them. This happened with two more customers as I was struggling to look at clothes with my hands full of clothes I wanted to try on. Finally, after about 15-20 min, a clerk asked if I needed a dressing room. I asked about the friends and family sale telling her I had received a phone call and a mail brochure. She told me the sale was for "friends and family only" I told her I was friends and family. She had a judgemental look on her face and told me "The sale starts tomorrow ". I told her I really thought it was today (Thurs) also. She told me I was mistaken.
Long story short, I tried on my selected items and did not purchase anything...I might have but was too embarrassed to impose on the clerks to ask for a different size. They were attentive to other guests but not me.
I ended up just walking out of the store. It occurred to me that I probably had more schooling and more money then they had yet I have not felt so small and humiliated since High School!
I really like C&B but I don't know if I will ever return to my trusted store. On a good note, it reminded me to always treat people with respect. As an RN, I see all walks of life. I can remember times when I have not treated people respectfully. Now I certainly will.
On a humorous note, when I arrived home I looked at my brochure...the sale for friends and family started TODAY.
credit card customer service and policies
I placed an online order on 8/8/19 and immediately set up a payment to pay the balance off on the next statement. The payment didn't process, apparently because 8/8/19 also happens to be the close of the billing cycle. They did not send me a statement for 8/9/19 that would have shown the payment didn't happen. On 9/9/19 I received a statement for the amount purchased on 8/8/19 PLUS a $29 late fee and interest. I immediately paid the purchase amount, not the late fee. I contacted the credit card customer service multiple times to get the late fee waived since a flaw in their system didn't process the payment I set up. They refused to consider the waiver. After continued messages, my card is now cancelled and they threatened to report the unpaid late fee to the credit card bureaus. I paid their ransom late fee and will NEVER shop with this store again, and definitely will never deal with a credit card company that doesn't allow you to set up auto payment of the credit card balance every month. Their system is VERY archaic and the customer service people at the credit card company are real jerks.

I received a 10.00 of coupon, I forgot to take it when I purchased. I went back the following day, with receipt, and all purchases with tags still attached. I told the cashier I want to use my 10.00 off so I would just return and rebuy. She said I could not return and rebuy. I had paid cash and said why. She said it could not be used on previous purchase...

9-21-19, South Fort Wayne Christopher and Banks. Waited over 20 minutes for a customer to make a return. The staff was incompetent. The manager knew less than the new staff. Update your systems and have your staff up to date to make a return easy. We left and they still had more to go. A return shouldn't be a punishment and waste time, that makes a customer never want to come back.

I was in the Springfield Christopher and banks store yesterday evening. I mentioned Casually that I came in to buy clothes before the tariffs in China might possibly make the prices go up. One of the employees criticized our current Illinois governor for raising taxes. The other employee began to discuss politics with me and her Alignment in "values" with our current president. I found this disturbing because it really emphasizes the divide in our country. I don't believe either of us intended to get into a political discussion but due to the nature of politics today even an innocent comment causes people to take sides. Your employee said she reads but she seemed very ignorant on current events and shouldn't discuss politics with customers at the store in any case. It ruined my shopping experience and I left without buying anything. I feel reluctant to go back to Christopher and Banks even though I really wanted to buy some new clothes. I just thought you should know so you can address the issue with employees. Your store should bring people together, not divide them. We can find common ground in our love of our country and quality clothing at Christopher and Banks.
I love the Christopher and Banks store in Terre Haute Indiana. I am so thankful to be able to shop at such an affordable store, where the associates are always willing to help. I love their clothes and great customer service. I especially want to let you know about a positive shopping trip last weekend. I brought a friend in to purchase a few things for her. Randi Everett (sales associate ) came right up to help us . She is always willing to find the best deals as well as striving to help us look our best. She is always happy, I think she loves her job. I purchased a blouse earlier this summer. It was washed once and it faded and shrunk. It did not go in the dryer. I was wondering if I could return it to the store for a refund. I rewashed it and stretched it. That did not work. I could give it to charity, but the person would have to be very short waisted to wear it. I buy most of my clothes from you and usually have no problems.

In November I ordered a $100 gift card to give to one of my daughters for Christmas. When placing the order on-line, it said that there would be $10 coupon for every $50 spent so technically I should have have received two $10 coupons.
I did not receive any coupons either in the mail or e-mailed to me.
At the beginning of January I called C&B Customer service as well as sending a message on-line asking why I had not received coupons.
I was told they e-mailed this and it was probably in "spam" which it was not. I have continued checking and nothing.
I have now called on the phone 3 times and am continually told this is in the process. First person I spoke with said I should get an e-mail with coupons within 2-3 business days. Each time I call they are still investigating.
To some this may not be a big deal but to me it is. It is the principal of the thing. l Customer Service stinks and no one I have spoken to is at all helpful.
My daughters and I have been big C&B customers for several years but that is about to end.
