Employee Rudness
11/23/2021
San Marcos Dodge
San Marcos, Texas
While attempting to get an update on the service for my vehicle, an employee on who answered the phone hung up and upon call back transferred me to a bad extension while I was in the middle of explaining my situation. As a long time customer I felt very betrayed and I don't believe I deserve to be treated in such a manor. Administrative staff needs to take more time and consideration into hiring polite employees. I requested the name of the employee who was rude to me and naturally, it could not be pinpointed who it was. I challenge service manager Gilbert Figuera and general manager Randall Randoff to contact me and if nothing else, offer an apology.
At the time of this message, no upper level management has contacted me in an attempt to resolve this issue.
Desired outcome: Apology, Simple Respect To A Paying Customer
Dick Hannah Dodge Vancouver WA
Dodge Caravan delivered by tow truck to Dick Hannah's lot had a bad lifter.
This was approx. October 11th. Called on October 14th and I was told the van was not at their lot. They wanted me to come find it. Service Manager had told tow truck driver where to park the vehicle and just leave the keys inside.
The service department has totally torn down the motor, still today is not repaired and we can't get anyone to return phone calls.
An extended warranty was purchased that was supposed to cover every little thing which we found out it doesn't. We are a family of five still without a vehicle to drive and it is almost the holidays.
The fact that it has been six weeks and the van is still torn down and NOBODY at this dealer will call me back is maddening. I believe that it is time to contact an attorney and have someone else deal with the frustration we have been put thru.
Is there a reason that our service person or the service manager can't return calls? We call several times a day and the receptionist takes a message which I am sure just goes into the trash somewhere.
We need our minivan and we were not offered a loaner car maybe if we had a loaner at their expense our van would be repaired by now. I am sorry but this is total B#(( S#*$
Desired outcome: MiniVan repaired and returned to us ASAP
Don’t buy anything from watson. Manistee
2020 ram is a p o s
I have a 2020 ram it has been in the dealership 11 times and all they do is shut off the check engine light and say they will call me
Service Department
2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee at 17, 000 now getting error notice every time I connect my phone to the vehicle. I also received a notice that there is an upgrade to the Mopar system on the jeep with "instructions" to download.
The appointment to fix these two issues was made over two weeks ago since they had "no availability". My appointment was at 12 noon on a Saturday. It cost me $120 to get a babysitter to stay with my 2 and 3 year old while I drove into Warrenton for this diagnostic and download.
I received a notice from Safford at 10 a.m. that I could check in for my service. 10 am? My appointment was at 12. Did that mean they would take my car earlier and fix it earlier? No explanation, simply that I could check in.
When I arrived at the service department, the service manager told he he didn't understand why the appointment was made for noon as all of his techs were on lunch hour from 12 - 1. Additionally, he told me it would take a minimum of 2 hours for the diagnostic and asked me if I'd like him to call me when the car was ready. WHAT? So they make a 12 noon appointment knowing the car won't be looked at until 1pm THEN a 2 hour wait on top of it!? This is ridiculous, I asked for my keys back and left.
Jeep Service has been consistently horrible. Calls made to schedule service are routed through another location who has been ignorant of the other locations hours. This appointment was booked through the Safford location in Warrenton so why didn't they know the service department was "off" from 12-1 on Saturdays? So frustrated with Jeep. Disappointed that I'm having a problem this early in the ownership. (17, 000 miles).
Desired outcome: New appointment with details of exact time of appointment, length required for the diagnostic and fix
Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4XE
Bought a new Jeep Wrangler on May 13 2021. Was hit by another driver, (their fault) 1 month later. Vehicle has been at the dealership ever since. Every month they say it will be repaired in 2-3 weeks. Opened a case with Chrysler a month ago and they have no answers either. Case number is [protected]. The dealer is Jerry Ulm in Tampa.
Desired outcome: Take the vehicle back and provide a full refund to be applied on a new vehicle
2012 jeep wrangler 3.6 pentastar oil cooler failure.
The oil cooler in this engine is prone to leaking oil or antifreeze, because the seals shrink and the oil or antifreeze leaks out! Also the oil bypass spring seat gets brittle and the spring actually comes completely out! This failure should be covered for repair by a recall by Chrysler. This part is beneath the intake manifold and difficult to access. the estimate from Cape Coral Chrysler is over $1400 (with new spark plugs) I have at this time less than 90, 000 miles on the jeep and this failure causes undue expense for an engine this young!
Desired outcome: partial or complete coverage of the expense of replacing the leaking part!!
Uconnect systems
I own 2 Chrylser 300 vehicles that the Uconnect systems have died. This is a Chrysler defect and I want to know why it wasn't a recall OR under warranty as based on the responses on the internet, Chrysler is well aware of. Now I have to pay to have both radio/Uconnect systems replaced.
I have owned 4 Chrysler vehicles in the past 35 years and do not understand why your company has been putting systems in the cars that are doomed to fail.
Desired outcome: Would like to see you correct your defect.
Premature caravan transmission failure
My Daughter's Dodge Caravan has 107, 000 kilometers on it. We used to drive vehicles far into the 100, 000 MILE range. 107K kilometers is equal to 66 K miles.
It is a 2016 and in great condition. The dealer tells me it is 7k over the warranty. No ifs and or buts. I find this irresponsible and outrageous frankly.
Now she has to cough up over $4, 000 to replace the transmission!
I get it that the vehicle is just over by 7, 000 kilometers and that the warranty is over. The warranty just ended a month and a half ago. These are not throw away vehicles. Even splitting the replacement cost my be a little more palatable.
I sure hope there is something you can do for her. I don't work as I am retired and really miffed!
James Morris ([protected]@shaw.ca
Desired outcome: full replacement or at very least split cost with her.
My2016 Grand Caravan is on its third transmission! The one replaced at 65, 000 miles by the Dodge dealership went out while I was vacationing. No dealership in the area could fix it for weeks, so I had it repaired by a reputable shop and now I am having to jump through hoops to file a claim for reimbursement. BAD FORM, Dodge!
Service contract cancelation by chrysler due to missing 5 year powertrain checkup
My seervice contract was put on "pending cancelation" dur to missing my 5 year powertrain checkup. When I realized this I offered to get the checkup a year ago and was told no. I still have no problem with the powertrain. I currently have an electrical problem with the window and seat. I feel that I can still have the powertrain can be evaluated and if its ok today then it stands to reason that the 5 year checkup would have been good. They said no. Beyond this I have a Lifetime service contract for a sebring 2008. It clearly states on the service contract that it is not related to the warranty. The service department in Quitman ga. says that they cannot help me under the service contract because when the powertrain checkup was missed it voids the service contract. It clearly states on the service contract that it is not related to the factory warranty. No on will listen. They keep on repeating the same thing that the service contract is void. They are wrong.
Desired outcome: reinstate the service contract. Allow the car to be inspected for the powertrain and reinstate the powertrain warranty
Dodge journey 2015
Hello my name is Tefferio Hogan two months ago my wife and I purchased a dodge journey 2015 after being without a car for two years, we are both disabled so when we brought it we were totally excited, it drove so smooth, and this meant no more waiting on the bus for hours or uber's but all of our high spirits fell today, I was about to park in front of our building I pulled up slowly and suddenly on it's on the vehicle accelerated, right into the building tearing down bricks and my neighbors front door and it was trying to go wheel were still spinning and suddenly it stopped I was extremely terrified. I turned the car off there were bricks and wood all over the car and the ground. I did nothing wrong my driving record is perfect I don't text, drink, or talk on the phone when driving, a friend told us that sometimes happen in these cars. We could really used your help. Sincerely Tefferio and Georgia Hogan
Desired outcome: We just want our car repaired

Extended warranty
On August 5, 2009 I traded in my 1998 Dodge Ram for a new 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 at Central Dodge, 1025 W. Sunshine, Springfield, Mo. (now: Corwin Dodge of Springfield). At the time of purchase I was told the truck had a lifetime warranty on the power train and I could also purchase an extended(lifetime) warranty for an extra fee that would cover repair costs as long as I owned the vehicle.
I have had this Dodge serviced at Central/Corwin Dodge every time I was informed an oil change was due, when otherwise notified by Chrysler or the local agency that a recall replacement/repair was required or for any other reason the agency advised me a repair was needed. My service record to this date does not reflect that I failed to comply with any suggestion or request made by Chrysler or the local agency.
I have frequently bragged on my Dodge Ram to family and friends since 1998 and defended baseless negative remarks about Rams. I have even given credit for the Ram's performance three years ago when a "rode rage individual tried to force my wife and I into a guard rail on Interstate 40. Had it not been for the quick acceleration capabilities and steering performance, we would have been seriously injured or killed. I am a retired police officer and some experience in negotiating in dangerous traffic.
My complaint and severe disappointment came after I took my truck on August 27, 2021 to be inspected for yearly license renewal and was told it would not pass state inspection requirements due to loose ball joints. The inspection was not done by Corwin Dodge as they would not be able to inspect it in time for me to avoid a late licensing penalty.
I called Corwin service department and they advised the ball joint repair should be covered under my warranty. I made an appointment for Sept. 8th for the repairs. At that time, the service manager, Jonathan, advised that they could not locate an active warranty for my Dodge. His initial inquiry suggested the error may have been due to paper work in that the records listed the warranty at one time as John M. Brooks and another time without my middle initial. He was very courteous and assured me he would try to get it straightened out. I checked with Jonathan on five occasions between Sept. 10-28-2021, with no response from Chrysler about the issue. Finally, on Sept. 28th at 3:58 pm, Jonathan called to inform me that Chrysler had notified him that my "lifetime warranty" had been cancelled due to my "not having the vehicle inspected for its second five year inspection by August 5, 2019. I informed him I had NOT been notified of any required inspection being due that I had not satisfied by Chrysler or Corwin Dodge during the periodic services I had Corwin conduct. Jonathan gave me a Chrysler phone number to call which I did on that same day and spoke to a woman there. She was polite and seemed sincere that she would try to help straighten things out. She said it appeared I had satisfied the requirement of continued ownership from purchase but that it would be necessary for me to have had the truck serviced "sixty days before" or "sixty days after August 5, 2019." She advised. She then told me their records reflected I had my truck serviced on 4/29/2019 and 11/1/2019, and that resulted in the cancelling of my warranty.
I pulled up the records of service on my Ram at Corwin from 6/25/15 to 6/24/21 and found seventeen instances of having the Ram serviced at Corwin. On EACH of those records it is stated that "A MULTI-POINT INSPECTION" was conducted.
I have since researched and found that the definition of "Multi-Point Inspection" given by Dodge is as follows: 'A Multi-Point Inspection is a (all the following 'in quotes' are in bold type) "complete review of your entire vehicle that determines the condition of each important automotive system and part." A frequent multi-point inspection provides you with information about your car, van, or truck in terms of optimizing its performance, reliability, safety, and service life.'"
Given the fact that I received no such advance notice of potential service warranty cancellation or after-the-fact notice of a cancellation, and the assurance that a "Multi-Point Inspection" was given each and every time my Ram truck was serviced, any reasonable and prudent interpretation is that I complied and did not default in my service contract agreement.
Since I could not have my Ram truck licensed without repairing/replacing the ball joints, I was, I think understandably, dismayed by Chrysler letting me down and sought repairs (from a qualified repair shop and much less cost than Corwin Dodge had quoted and was able to obtain my license but at an increased cost due to late fees in waiting for Chrysler to respond for nearly a month. That cost was $640.20 and does not include the late fee of my license.
I respectfully ask that Chrysler re-consider my request for restoration of my service contract and, if possible, pay for my repairs that should have been covered in an active warranty. I am seventy-seven years old and when I bought my 2009 Dodge Ram, with the lifetime warranty, I fully expected I could have an operative vehicle for at least twenty years and not have to face the accelerating costs of vehicle repairs.
I would appreciate your consideration of my appeal.
Sincerely,
John M. Brooks

2021 dodge charger sale fiasco with lafontaine dodge walled lake, mi
I ordered a new Charger on 7/7/2021 based on the purchase price LaFontaine gave me, see attached. During the conversation I told the salesperson I was a GM retiree and the reasons for purchasing another Charger. When the new Charger arrived 8/21/2021 the deal suddenly changed, I was receiving any discounts, so I told them to refund the down payment and I would go elsewhere. I went to other dealers and they all said 8 to 10 weeks for delivery and I was leaving for Florida 9/5/2021 and did not want to add an additional 3400 miles to my possible trade-in.
I returned to LaFontaine Dodge to try and figure out some way to salvage the deal made on 7/7, I believe the sales number they gave they knew was not good but it would keep me ordering from another dealership, and it worked.
The salesperson I saw on 8/23 was very condescending and said no sales person would quote that kind of discount, that I was mistaken and he would not budge and he wanted to give me $2000.00 less for my trade-in, so I left.
They called me on my cell phone and ask me to return and try to work something out with the sale. They agreed to give me the original amount for my trade-in, so I agreed, though very unhappy with the way I had been treated.
When I got the car they left the 2 yellow plastic fascia protector on the car, the dash board had a sticky substance all over and the gear shift was also sticky.
Now that I have left a negative comment I have received 8 letters from various lending institutions declining the opportunity for me to borrow money for the purchase of this car. This is over a month after I received the car and almost 2 months after I told the salesperson I had financing arranged through my credit union. This obviously is retaliation for my comments about my experience with LaFontaine Dodge.
Desired outcome: Chrysler confront LaFontaine Dodge to make sure this does not happen to other customers. I would like my $5252. 00 back but that is probably not going to happen
2014 jeep rubicon with 92000 km
I have casing sand in my radiator, heater core, and oil pump, making my 2014 jeep rubicon blow cooler air out the driver's side vents. The dealership wants me to spend almost $5000 dollars to replace the radiator, heater core, and oil pump. Is this not a factory problem?
Will this eventually wreck my engine? This vehicle has never been abused nor has it ever been off-road, when I paid it off I thought it would last a very long time but now not so sure.
Desired outcome: Chrysler should replace all these parts for free, the casing dust is from the manufacturing of the engine.
2014 Ram Promaster Cluster panel
I purchased a motorhome that's on a 2014 Ram promaster frame on January 27 2021 from an individual. It had 7800 miles on it at time of purchase. I test drove the vehicle with no issues showing at that time. Within 200 miles when I would use the cruise control the the cluster panel showed two icons that showed for a diesel engine when I have a gas engine. When I took it to the dealership they said (" cluster was either not configured right or installed incorrectly due to not being able to reconfigure old cluster "). Since this came from the factory this way I don't think I should have be paying for the repairs. I have been in contact with customer service and it was indicated that they would help( case# [protected]). Now that the part has been replaced customer service says they will not help. The part, installation and diagnostic cost me $ 824 plus tax.
We purchased this motorhome knowing that Chrysler makes a great product. Please let me know if there is anything you can do to help. Thank you. Tim Donahue Phone: [protected] Email [protected]@att.net
Desired outcome: Company pay for part and installation
bad Jeep Grand Chjerrokee service repairs
Scranton Dodge in Pennsylvania has not addressed issues when brought in for service.
It started when I received a letter stating a recall on our bad dash leather curling. I have on each visit brought it up. The car is returned after annual service with "oh, that was not listed as an issue." Now they say it is too late. The recall has expired? (Did not now recalls expire).
Secondly is the engine light has remained on after services. Thus the remote start will not work. I have addressed this each time too with the same response. Finally, the passenger window not working well was requested to be repaired this last time (which really set me to complain along with the dash and light problem). Again the same response for why it was not addressed. This is our daily driver and my wife relies on its security heavily. I hate losing it for longer than the required time only to find issues not listed on the paperwork given to mechanics.

Desired outcome: Do repairs of the light and window, I will pay. And do the dash leather recall not at my expense
Negligence of certified chrysler mechanic - could have resulted in serious injury
On 9/2/21 I took my 2014 Chrysler 300 to Shepherd Chrysler Service Department in Auburn, Indiana. The problem I was experiencing was cold air blowing out of the driver's side car from my heating/cooling system. We believed that the problem may have been a bad door actuator. I purchased a part and took it to Shepherd's where the repair was going to be made...

I decided to purchase a Ram truck from Lakeland Chrysler in Lakeland, Fl. I negotiated the price, I live 350 miles away, agreed, placed 1, 000. Down on the truck via a credit card that I was told would hold it for 48 hours. Took off work for two people, paid insurance, took out a partial loan at my bank, picked up the check the next day and driving to pick up the truck and they decided to sell it to someone else. They did not hold the truck, it's unethical and criminal. It had to spend money to buy this truck and they sell it to someone else.

Warranty on contract that I didn't know about.
On 8/23/2021
I bought out a lease at Baxter auto on 180th & Dodge in Omaha Nebraska on a Pacifica. The finance person had my wife and I sign a contract that he never told me about. He did it electronically and said just sign these 5 boxes.
When we got home we realized that he signed us up for a 3 year warranty for $3118.00 for 30, 000 miles and he made us sign another one that is called a Three-in-one extended warranty that was $620.00 dollars. And we found out we have to pay an extra $288.00 on sales tax for these extra warranties. That is over $4, 000 dollars. Ouch! We talked to them about this and they extended the warranty up to 75, 000 miles. But nothing on the three-in-one $620.
My name is Dan Bennett [protected]
Desired outcome: We expect the $620 be mailed to us in a check and they keep it active for our anguish and deceptive way of dealing with us. We have been a loyal customer for years.
2018 RAM 1500 (case# [protected])
I have a rod knocking in my engine, my truck is still within 20, 000 miles of my power train factory warranty. I'm being advised to have my truck towed to a third dealership, The first and present dealership hasn't even lifted the hood to diagnose (even though the first dealership claim to, I talked to a employee there that said no one had looked at it. I've been in contact with my now second case manager at Chrysler and she hasn't nor the first one has been any help. I 've now just made my third payment on a truck that has sat at a dodge dealership for over two months, the dealerships' never even offered me a shop vehicle for transportation and as a result I have been paying for a rental car from budget rental that has cost me now over $4000.00. I refuse to believe as a company this is who Chrysler is and care about customers and wont continue to let me be treated this way.
Desired outcome: I only want my truck repaired and rental reimbursement do to rental was of no fault of my own
Warranty replacement cost and time.
Friday July 2, 2021, 2017 Jeep Wrangler 29, 543 Miles,
INVOICE #413418
• Driving 50 MPH heard and felt several loud thumps.
• Dismissed as road noise. Continued trip.
• On the return, the noise and bouncing became scary wheezing sound like a leaking tire.
• Pull over to inspect, tires ok. We drove to the nearest Jeep dealer for help.
• Road test and inspection by Dealer revealed severe damage to the Differential. Repair diagnoses recommend differential (s) replacement under warranty. From this point all service should be covered by the vehicle warranty.
• Advised that needed parts would take 45 days to arrive.
• We were concerned about leaving our immaculate Wrangler at the Dealership for the extended period. But we were still pleased at the great service right before the holiday weekend.
• Customer did not request a Differential service. We were advised that factory lube was poor quality and should be replaced with synthetic. This service would allow us to drive our Jeep until Differential (s) could be replaced. We believe this was a deliberate misrepresentation.
• Problem recurred 3 times on the 30 mile ride home.
• The Beautiful Wrangler is in garage for the summer out of fear to drive it.
• Inspection and lube change cost 558.82 and we expect the same charge again when Differential (s) are replaced under warranty.
• We believe that Jeep should absorb the full cost of the inspection, fluid replacement, and re-installing of the Differential (s). This occurred after the diagnosis of Warranty replacement.
• We are disappointed that this major of mechanical problem occurred. Disappointed in supposedly the strongest part of any car/truck occurred without warning. Vehicle mileage of only 29, 600 or so is considered very low in some circles.
• The perceived ruggedness of the Jeep Wrangler is one reason that we have owned so many.
• All oil change and tire rotations are done at the Dealership and records are available to you. We believe in supporting your Dealers to the point of paying for work we could do ourselves.
• Loss of use due to part shortage for this long is unacceptable. If this 45 day delay is because it is under Warranty replacement, and would otherwise be available to a paying customer we expect first come first served replacement.
• Chrysler Jeep should have by now (August 23); Found an alternant source for Differential parts, even Auto Supply Stores, Ebay, Amazon, or scavenging parts from the factory.
Desired outcome: Find the parts, Fix Our Wrangler, reimburse any cost.
