Financial Aid scammers
I JUST graduated in august with a ZERO balance! Had a zero balance the entire time I attended the school (from what I seen on my ledger through the portal….I graduate and see a $200 graduation charge (ok cool no biggie). Then a month later BOOM spam phone calls all day telling me they disabled my student account and I owe a balance of $4,900. Where did this come from? I have not talked to any financial advisor the entire time I attended this school and now the financial aid department is calling me non stop? Where were u guys where I needed someone to speak with about my aid? I couldn’t pay someone to call me when I needed help with anything! Had to file complaints against Shayda my so called advisor who I never spoke to, like ever. If I owed a balance at any time I was attending WHY wasn’t I informed? Oh wait because SHAYDA NEVER TOLD ME! Why am I being called AFTER I graduate but not for the entire year and half I attended the school? This school is way too comfortable with scamming AFTER they were already involved in a few scandals! Needles to say I won’t be dishing out one red cent to this crooked school and the government WILL be informed yet again about there practices. Adding fees and not even calling to explain why or what’s going on with our aid is Misuse of funds which is a crime. I never had so many calls from this school and couldn’t get Shayda’s lazy a$$ to help me at all. Now I’m getting spammed with calls about owing money. Yea I’ll be contacting a lawyer. I am looking at a fake made up ledger from this school that was not in effect until after I graduated. You added charges to multiple student accounts including mine after we leave in order to purposely hold transcripts and extort students for out of pocket money outside of our loans. Fraud and deception
I have joined Colorado technical university on January, 2022 and I have requested the university to withdraw from the school on July, 2022. But they refuse to let me to withdraw from the school and let the courses open without my interest. On May 2023, they blocked me from accessing the courses. And asked me to pay for the past due amount for the courses I don't even take and the academic year I didn't have been there. I have requested them to give me all my payment history and academic records, but they ignore me. I need justice.

I started online classes through CTU and my family went 13 days without power due to a natural disaster, I reached out to my success coach and my professors about my situation, I ended up failing those classes and I was dismissed from the school. I have reached out and reached out with no answers. I am going to find out what I can do about this, and I should get my loan money and grant money reimbursement due to all of the headaches that I have endured from CTU.

Spammed phone calls
I never signed up to receive information or phone calls from CTU but receive upwards of 10 - 20 calls a day from them. I do not know how they received my phone number. I have asked to be put on their do not call list and I have blocked every number they call from, but they always call from a new number. This has become harassment and it needs to stop immediately.

Constant Calls
Like one person said a few years ago, this place calls me nonstop. It’s annoying. You can block the numbers but they just call from a different number. As the other person said, it’s harassment. It appears they must really want you to go to college there but I’m surprised they’re even in business with how much they call people. I really just want them to leave me alone. Scam and misusing funds
I have been going to Colorado Tech for a while now, and I finally looked into my financial aid when they told me I had to sign a payment agreement. I said why and I thought classes were only 340, she then told me no they are 340 and credit meaning if you take a class and that class is counted as 3.5 credits for that class that means for one class I'm paying 1190.00 for one class and they add on all these other fees and things to make it even higher, so please tell me who I need to contact to get this resolved, because paying money out of pocket and you are using financial aid why am I paying money out of my pocket and signing a payment agreement.

Harassing phone calls
I have gotten a total of 30 phone calls in a matter of 2 days. I have blocked EVERY single call from them, including each new number that calls me. I am getting fed up with this and can not keep blocking new numbers. The crazy thing is that it is registering as a phone call from my city and state. Something NEEDS to be done about this before a lawsuit is pursued.

Constant Phone calls
I have been getting calls every single day for months now from Colorado tech university. I clicked a stupid box while trying to find scholarships and I find it super violating that you took my number from that site to use for your own gain. I have no interest in attending school with them, I never have. I never applied, never said I wanted to go there. I left a message I find it humorous that you have time to call me 5 times a day but not answer the phone for the do not call list line. TAKE ME OFF YPUR CALLING LIST. Calling nonstop
I have never asked for information from this school, yet they call me at least once an hour. I've tried telling them I do not want to be contacted anymore and they told me it takes 5 business days. It's been over that and they are still calling. I work 3rd shift and the calls are stopping me from getting sleep. I've tried blocking them, but they call from different numbers. Student right
I'm an international student at CTU and I got withdrawn from CTU. I claimed to the CTU student Grievance but I think the final decision from CTU is unfair. I also sent an email to the CTU trustee but I did not get a clear reply. I traveled back home on 16/1/2023 and everything was good at that time. I got withdrawn from CTU on 6/2/2023 because of a non-academic participation policy when I was in the hospital and did not know anything about it. I have my hospital document.
- I appreciate the help from CTU Student Grievance but Still some part that I misunderstood and cannot agree with the school. School lists the policies.
under my concern to make it reasonable but there are some points I do not understand and do not agree with.
- I admit that I did not have academic participation for 15 days and it was my fault since I did not have a laptop with me at the hospital.
- School stated that when I signed The student Disclosure, I must be aware of and follow the policies. I admitted that my fault since did not read it carefully. However, I have my right to double-check my program if I'm not sure about it and got no response from the success coach before traveling. Why have I not get explained about it until now? The school still hasn't answered this question. The misunderstanding program can lead me to fail the school rules.
- School stated that University email is the primary way the University communicates with students, and the university cannot guarantee that a student’s personal email will be used. I agreed about this and it was my fault for not reaching the technical support to access my school email. That is my fault since I'm unable to log in to my school email until now. I confirm on my CTU account that my personal email is the best way to reach me. I keep working with all school staff by a personal email from the first day until now. I'm wondering if it is wrong, does it mean the school staff keeps doing it the wrong way to me? I studied at CTU 3 sections already. Why did my success coach wait until this section to send me an email by school email for a warning?
- School stated that not all staff know that I traveled. I agreed but all staff who work with me from admission, success coach, DSO, and when I emailed another staff, I also attached those email screenshots. There is should not a misunderstanding here.
- The last thing I would like to talk about is the announcement on Feb 16. “Effective with the January 17, 2023 session, CTU has also made the decision to no longer allow program changes or concentration changes for our international student population. In addition, international students who break their enrollment will not be eligible to re-enter.”
The announcement was on Feb 16, so it does not make sense if effective from Jan 17. As I understand it is effective for Jan 17 section but from the Feb 16. For example, the bank can not announce to you that they increase your loan interest on Feb 16 and count it from Jan 17. That does not make sense.
- I got withdrawn on 2/6/2023 and my I-20 got terminated on 2/10. So was still a CTU student at that time and I have my right to re-enroll. I got an email asking for help re-enroll from Mr. Berry on 2/9 and he said it was urgent. I replied right away. I do not think the email from the Senior National Admission reentry advisor was not serious. As per the CTU catalog 2023, the process can be quick and I believe it since I meet all requirements and got accepted by CTU within 1 day after submitting all documents. The school keeps stating that even though I got help, I still can not get back since the next section is on 2/21/2023. Please do not assume the result because the truth is I did not get help. On my I-20, I got admission on 8/25 for section September 20. From 2/9 to 2/16 is still in a safe zone. The school stated that they could not issue a new I-20 for me during that time but If they sign up me for the next section, they should not deactivate my I-20 since they haven't gotten me 12 unit credit hours for the quarter 1/17/2023 - 3/27/2023. THE F-1 REGULATIONS STATE THAT ANY VIOLATION OF F-1 IMMIGRATION STATUS IS SUPPOSED TO BE REPORTED WITHIN 21 DAYS. IF AN F1 STUDENT WITHDRAWS FROM ALL THEIR CLASSES WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OFFICE, THEN DSO IS SUPPOSED TO TERMINATE THEIR SERVICE RECORD WITHIN 21 DAYS. I believe that I should not get terminated I-20 in this situation. I do not know exactly what reason they use for terminating my I20. I asked the school for a letter about my situation and haven't got a reply back yet. This decision from school turn me to hardship since I only need 8 courses to get my degree and have to work with the US embassy about my visa. I also need to pay extra for that and also a new service fee if I want to continue studying in the US until finish my degree. I try to find a new school but they do not accept all my credits. It will cost me a lot more money since I'm an international student. I also can not take care of my belonging in the US such as my car, insurance, rent, etc.
-The school stated that there is no option for me to get back to school as an international student. I do not ask about my optional, I'm asking about my Student Rights since I paid all tuition fees and never did any bad thing to school. I have my right to reentry and continue until I get my degree.

Financial aid
I was hospitalized the entire last quarter. I was scheduled to take 2 classes. After going through surgery, the first week of school, I contacted financial aid to let them know I was extremely sick (on add/drop week) and needed time off. I was told that was not possible. I was told I could drop one class but to KEEP EVERYTHING THE SAME I had to remain in one class. I had 3 surgeries this past quarter and still finished the class. I did not miss any assignments. My grade point average is still a 4.0. Everything changed. They returned my Federal Pell Grant after telling me to remain in school so that exact situation would not happen. I get that there are policies, but I was never told to take this class when I could barely function so this exact situation would not happen by a financial advisor. The information I was given was false. Knowing I had enough left over loan money, I paid my hospital admissions with my rent money. I clearly messaged and called multiple times to make sure that money was coming to me before I paid my hospital bill, and I was reassured every time. The best part is I have every conversation and piece of paperwork proving this. I am now facing eviction because I was unable to work the last 5 weeks because I was in the hospital. I needed that money to keep a roof over my head. When confronted of why I was not told this could happen I was met with no emotion or care for my losses. The handbook also states you must withdraw to get your financial aid returned and in certain circumstances like medical leave of absence or completing a course, returning the Pell Grant should not happen. I am about to be homeless because no one in the financial aid office told me this could happen when I asked all the necessary questions to avoid this. I have all the messages and hospital discharge papers and my financial award letters to back all this up as well, but I cannot post them with this. If needed, please email me and I will send them. Finacial Aid/Transferring to another college
Yesterday I made a call to the financial aid department and was told the $200.00 was being held out of my refund for an agreement that I never agreed to. So, she sent me an agreement that I never seen or signed. My point is Someone set this up without me knowing. I also told them do not set me for two classes because I work a lot. Well, they did it anyways. I was charged 3420.00 for 5.5 hours and 1.5 was lab that I did not sign up for. Its like do what they want you to do, and the student is not in control of their own education, CTU financial just scamming the system. It is not fair! I took a decrease in my income to come back to school to better myself. I need my money to pay for bills, gas, food, clothes, and pay my tithes. God have mercy on CTU...

I would to file a complaint against CTU for the following reasons. Failure to communicate with the students. We are assigned a student success coach and not on any occasion have they called to assist or make sure I didn’t have any questions or concerns in regards to my classes or success through the semester. This is the 2nd time I’ve had issues with the school on this matter. Next is the Financial Aid Services. They are TERRIBLE. They give the student false information and fail to keep their promise. I have made several attempts to express my concern as a student and disabled veteran and they failed every time to comply

Online college courses
I had to quit after my first four weeks because starting the next four weeks I wouldn't have enough money to pay for classes so looked into doing something cheaper but still couldn't afford to keep going so I had to drop out and when I talked to the advisor had me log in to review papers and send a letter to someone about dropping out and they had me log in multiple times and days but there saying since I logged in I owe them 1800 dollars in witch I said I'm not paying because they said I needed to log in for the paperwork ect nothing but a scam then told me I better pay or there sending it to debt collectors... So I'll never do any online classes ever again I don't see why everything has to be a scam like unreal...

I enrolled @ CTU SEPTEMBER 20,2022 Everything went well however sadly to my GED was a fraud which I took online, They (CTU) still accept my grant funds and allowed me to attend so, my assignments were finished, with A in all classes, GPA 3.90. I am 55 years of age that suffer from PTSD, BIPOLOR and recently lost my daughter. I figured that somewhere I read that as long as my attendance, credits were good that it was no problem.
Still wondering why CTU had the funding for intution. I've NOT yet recieved any funds for a laptop.
I do all my assignments on my cellphone, note pad.
I contacte Fafsa which walked me through placing a complaint and also e-mailed CTU finanical aid department and I was told to reach out to my FA Richard Nelson about my stepend which I knew it was a waste of time being he hardly returns my e-mails. Now, he tell me that hes will revise my award letter and it will take 48 hours, during that time I guess he gets with Caroline Burck the document and act as if they have been trying to offer me some type of assistance now that I have reach out for some help.. yes, Richard Nelson knew that I informed him about that GED. FAFSA also informed me that it was a transation made #2. Richard Nelson also informed me that there was no funding paid for the intution dated Sept 20,2022 - Dec16,2022 I feel that I have worked hard and rightfully earned my funds from the Sept20,2022 Dec16,2022 in which I can buy my laptop and I am looking forward to continue my education @ El Centro to get my GED and work on my BUSINESS OF SCIENCE AND ADMINISTRATION.

Non-stop unsolicited phone calls
I've never contacted this "university" in my life but I now receive 15+ calls from them a week. I've blocked the number but the keep calling. Even if I had ever reached out for interest, this behavior would have ensured I'd never give them any money. Not sure how they can get away with this unsolicited harassment

Finances
I feel that this school is scamming me and other military members. I am receiving CH 33 military benefits and I know I am not paying for my tuition. I have asked multiple times to see an invoice and a breakdown of charges per credit hour for semester 2205. I know an invoice exists however, the CTU keeps sending me a student ledger that is super vague with just the overall chargers and no itemized breakdown of tuition or additional fees. The student who is currently attending and spending 65,000 for a degree should be entitled to said information. If I wasn't receiving CH 33 I would still want a breakdown of charges so I know that I am not being scammed. My financial advisor Caleb Nabors is either too new and doesn't know anything or is giving me the runaround. He said he would reach right back out to me, yet I have heard nothing. I try to call back and my calls keep getting ignored. If I don't get the information I need I will be attending another school. I will also tell all my other military friends that are interested in this school how much of a hassle it is and how unprofessional and responsive people are.
Desired outcome: I would like an invoice breaking down the charges of tuition fees and any additional charges. I don't want the student ledger because that document lacks detailed data.
