Worker Name: oh2fdxf
Facility: OH2 (Ohio 2)
Miner: S19 XP
Cost of Purchase: $14k USD
Background: purchased in May 22, miner became operational in January 23, Miner broken March 23 and has been broken until the 12 month warranty ran out. Now they are saying that it is our of warranty and I need to cover repairs. This was done purposefully to avoid repairing miners.
Anyone able to assist with legal action, I am setting up a website called compassminingscam.com where a platform will be created for all people to share how they have been scammed by Compass Mining. We will compile all information and commence legal action.
Customer service: non responsive or incompetent
new customers be aware: once they have your money that is the last time you will see it.

Pathetic Rip-off Artists
I purchased two mini-bundles (each 6 miners) in late '21. While they were late delivering the first bundle and they constantly missed deadlines, I was able to resell these units. I also decided to sell my second bundle as I wanted to more invest the $ tied up in miners in altcoins. I paid $13k/miner and they were selling for about $12k when I decided to list them. This is where the real screw job began. They would not let me list them as they said their system was not allowing bundles to be listed so they were updating it. This went on for MONTHS. Then the price of BTC dropped dramatically while waiting for the 2nd bundle to come on-line. By the time their system allowed me to sell them, it then would not let me sell them until they were on-line and mining. Then, they were over ONE YEAR late delivering all 6 units. By this time, these miners were selling for $2,500 each. So, when I could have resold them on Compass' secondary market for over $12k, they wouldn't let me (blaming system limitations), then they said I couldn't list until they were on-line but they were over 1 year late delivering the units and getting them on line, forcing me to lose over $10k per miner. Now the until are selling for $3,200 to $3,300 so I'm going to just bit the bullet.
Beyond Compass being the most incompetent and client hating company I have ever dealt with, I would not use them even if the economics made sense. With BTC @ $40k, even now with these miners being down to $3k, when you consider the monthly fees, it's just NOT economic. Go buy some good altcoins instead and keep control of your assets and your liquidity.
My son-in-law purchased some miners thru Compass pre-Ukraine war and the mining facility shut down and he lost everything.
Compass has been a 3 year nightmare for me. The are clueless and have NO integrity. Run away FAST and do not look back. You will thank me and everyone else who shed light on what an AWFUL company this is.
Recommendation: Do not go near Compass Mining!!! You will get screwed!!!
This company is a SCAM!
Compass Mining is borderline a scam. They do as they wish with your miners. Your miners will mine when they want them to mine. They do not answer any tickets. Compass customer service decided to change my miner name. I told him not to touch my miner not to change anything or my miner would stop mining. He disregarded everything I said and did exactly what I told him not to do. Now my miner is offline he closed the ticket without even realizing that when he changes the name the miner stopped mining. They do not care about you after you buy the miner from them. Once they receive your money you no longer matter. All they are going to do is send emails for half of the month telling you to pay you fees while your miner has been offline for the past 4 months. They do not answer tickets. If they do its weeks later and dont even help in any way. I had no problems with the deployments of my 2 miners, they were fast with that. But its no use when the miner is mostly offline. They tell you they will give you 95% uptime. That is a lie. I am desperate to sell those miners right now. I want nothing to do with comoassmining.io don't wast your money, host somewhere else. I will be selling my two miners with compass and buy them elsewhere. Never ever in your life consider compassmining, you will regret it horribly.
Recommendation: I would never in a million years recommend this to anyone. I don't care if you were my worst enemy, no one in tis earth should have to deal with this.
Update 1:
My miner has been offline for 4 months already. I was told my miner would be sent for repair at once when my miner stopped hashing, then I was told they misplaced my miner and it never left Ontario facility, it was just gathering dust for 2 months. Then they tell me the miner will stay in Ontario and a repair technician would repair it in 2-3 weeks. It was not repaired. Now they are telling me my miner is being repaired right now, but somehow cannot give an estimate when it will be done repairing. THEY HAVE NOT CHANGED ONE BIT!

Do not trust this company
In january 2022 I ordered a miner through compassmining. I paid $14 for the miner. The miner was online in December 2022. It worked for three months. The miner died in March 2023, I is now October 23 and the miner is still being repaired. Their customer service centre is not responding to emails, no updates are given. To anyone reading this, do not risk it!
Recommendation: To anyone reading this, do not risk it! And you will not get your money back
Ready to file suit.
This is rediculous, i purposefully planned every single hype on BTC, but conveniently, my miners are down, and then for 3 months, they are being transferred and cleaned, while they are hosting new miners that are up in 2 days? ?!? What the actual hell is this company doing. Give your current paying customers the miners that are up!
They better respect customers or face class action soon.
Recommendation: No.
Compass Mining Inc is a company that operates in the Bitcoin mining industry
Compass Mining Inc is a company that operates in the Bitcoin mining industry. They have been known to engage in unscrupulous activities such as accepting deposits from customers but failing to deliver the mining units as promised. Additionally, there have been instances where they disconnect the units after delivery in order to use them for their own mining purposes. Customers have also reported problems with billing and a lack of response to their support tickets. Overall, dealing with Compass Mining Inc can be a frustrating and unpleasant experience.
this is 100% a scam company!
this is 100% a scam company! terrible service. they even swapped out my equipment for something else cause they lost it. so much downtime. anytime bitcoin starts to rally they suddenly say my mining machine is offline. i believe they are mining illegally.
If I could rate 0 stars, I would
If I could rate 0 stars, I would. I've been with Compass since late 2021. I have over 20 ASICS with them. During that time, I've seen a decrease in uptime and poor customer service. It's impossible for me to recover my investment now. When I've raised concerns with Compass leadership, they've accused me of lying, even though I've given them ticket numbers as evidence. My only hope with this review is that nobody else makes the error of spending money with Compass.
I wanted to share my thoughts on Compass Mining Inc
I wanted to share my thoughts on Compass Mining Inc. Although I really want to give a positive review, I must say that their customer service is really bad. Many others have also mentioned the problem of miner uptime, which is quite significant. I understand that they are just a middleman and don't operate the facilities themselves. However, what is really unacceptable is their complete lack of response to questions or inquiries. We have a miner that has been at a repair facility for 6 months, and despite reaching out to them more than a dozen times, we haven't received a single response. The least they could do is reply to emails and hold their partners accountable.
Compass was okay at first but since the market went down, the support has been terrible
Compass was okay at first but since the market went down, the support has been terrible. My miner was at the *** site when it went down in September for like a whole month, and they said they would give me a credit. But now it's December and still no credit. Also, the device is offline now and Compass says it's being repaired. They said I'll get credit when it's fixed. But they still want me to pay my invoice even though the miner has been offline for almost 3 months. Support says I'm on a waitlist for credit. Why is there a waitlist for credit? Does that mean the company is broke? They're just taking money and not giving credits for the downtime? I wouldn't recommend using Compass, I would stay away. I totally regret getting a miner and hosting solution from them.
I bought a Miner in November for about 10k
I bought a Miner in November for about 10k. The original go live date was supposed to be *** with a deployment in ***. But it got delayed for a few months and then they finally shipped it to a *** facility. Since it arrived there, it's been offline and they haven't given any ETA for when it will go online. They sent an email offering to move the devices to another facility with space. I quickly agreed, but then they changed their mind and decided to keep the miner in ***. It's been six months since the promised go live date and I have nothing to show for it. The support team can't even give me the serial number for the device I ordered, which makes me think it doesn't exist. After months of calling, someone finally reached out to me on *** and said there's nothing they or I can do about it. When I asked for a full refund, they said it's not possible. This company is a total scam and I want to warn others not to fall into the same trap I did.
I've been mining with Compass for over 1 year
I've been mining with Compass for over 1 year. I ordered 6 miners, but only 5 have been put online so far. Sadly, those 5 miners have been constantly going offline for more than 2 days at a time. This is the main reason I pay them, and they just can't seem to do their job properly. My mining pool sends me messages every day saying that one or more of my miners are down. Compass never gives a deadline or time frame they can meet. They are consistently wrong, making them seem not only incompetent but almost fraudulent. I don't trust them to keep their word about anything.
Even though I signed up for a year at a specific price, Compass unilaterally raised my monthly hosting fees. Yes, their contract allows it, but it feels like a bait and switch. They have never sent me an accurate monthly invoice. They always overcharge me and bill me for miners in places where I don't have them. It seems like they have no organization at all. I spend a lot of time each month fixing their billing mistakes. And to make matters worse, if you don't pay your hosting fees in crypto, they charge you extra. Basically, I have to pay them to take my money. These charges seem completely made up. It should be Compass's problem, not the customer's.
I will say that Compass does have a customer service department that apologizes a lot, but they don't do much to fix the company's incompetence. If I could get a refund, I would gladly walk away and never deal with these idiots again. I would also be happy to join a class action lawsuit if one comes up.
Please avoid doing business with Compass Mining.

I bought 7 miners from this company and spent over $35,000 on them
I bought 7 miners from this company and spent over $35,000 on them. Only 1 of them is online and it's only online 50% of the time. It's been 3-4 months and now the support team isn't responding. I need help with this issue before I contact my lawyer and file a lawsuit for damages, lawyer fees, and the cost of my miners if they don't honor their contract. They even sent me a monthly bill for a unit that's only online 50% of the time. It's pretty funny. I also want proof that the units I bought are brand new.

I bought 3 Bitcoin Miners from Compass Mining Inc on Sept 4th 2022
I bought 3 Bitcoin Miners from Compass Mining Inc on Sept 4th 2022. They said the miners would be online by October 10th, 2022. But it's now February 16th 2023 and my miners are still not online. I've asked for a refund multiple times, but they keep saying no. I've also tried to get someone higher up to help, but they haven't responded. This company scammed me and took over $10,000 from me. Their only excuse is that the online date is just an estimate and they don't have to give me a refund. They're 4 months behind schedule and they don't even know when my miners will be online. I've lost 4 months of mining time that I can't get back. This is a total waste of money. I just want my money back. These people are either thieves or scammers.
On 9/3, I placed an order for a Bitcoin mining machine and the hosting service that comes with it from Compass Mining Inc
On 9/3, I placed an order for a Bitcoin mining machine and the hosting service that comes with it from Compass Mining Inc. The plan was for the machine to start working in May 2022. However, it didn't actually start working until June, and even then, it has only been working on and off. Recently, they sent me a bill for the hosting service, but I wasn't sure how to pay it. I tried reaching out to them through email and their customer service line, but I didn't receive any response. This lack of communication has made it impossible for me to address any issues I'm currently experiencing with their service. The total cost of the Bitcoin miner and fee was $8485.32. Here is the original order information: Hello ***, This message contains US and International wire payment instructions to purchase the following order from Compass Mining: Reservation ID: -MigbryWZj_i5ZfaVKCL Order details: 1x Antminer S19j Pro 100 TH (May 2022) $8200 Deposit: $142.66 Hosting Prepayment: $142.66 The inventory is not reserved until the wire is processed. I'm writing 'bout my last complaint 'bout the late and not complete delivery of them 30 Bitcoin mining ASICs I ordered from y'all in February
I'm writing 'bout my last complaint 'bout the late and not complete delivery of them 30 Bitcoin mining ASICs I ordered from y'all in February 2022 and paid *** dollars. I still ain't got 10 of them devices I ordered and paid for, even though I asked 'bout 'em lots of times. I done contacted y'all customer service many times over the past year, and they always said them devices was 'bout to be launched real soon, but that ain't been true at all. Them devices was s'posed to be launched right away, like y'all advertised and sold to me. I bought 'em 'cause of that promise, and it done caused me a whole lotta money loss for my business. 'Cause of all them delays and lack of communication from y'all, I'm askin' for a full refund for them 10 Bitcoin mining ASICs that ain't been delivered. I done lost trust in y'all's ability to deliver them devices like y'all promised, and I don't wanna do no more business with y'all. I'd appreciate it if y'all could process this refund real quick and give me confirmation of the refund. Thanks for payin' attention to this matter.
On May 5, 2022, I bought 6 miners from Compass Mining Inc
On May 5, 2022, I bought 6 miners from Compass Mining Inc. They said the miners would be deployed by July 31, 2022. But in July, they changed the date to the end of August. I asked for a refund, and they said it was a mistake and changed the date back to July 31. However, the miners were still not deployed on that day. I asked for a refund again, but they refused, citing their policy. They assured me that the new date, August 23, would be met, but it wasn't. Now they are saying mid-September. According to their purchase policy, they are not responsible for production delays, delivery delays, machine underperformance, machine failures, or component/engineering issues. This policy only covers machine delays/failures, which is understandable. However, it does not protect them from facility delays, which are entirely their responsibility. It seems like this company is holding onto my money indefinitely without fulfilling their end of the agreement. I no longer wish to do business with them and I want a full refund of $55,344.37.
I ordered two Bitmain Model L7 mining equipment from Compass Mining to mine Bitcoin
I ordered two Bitmain Model L7 mining equipment from Compass Mining to mine Bitcoin. The plan was for these machines to start working at their *** Facility on 12/5/2022 and 12/12/2022. But, guess what? Today I found out that Compass made a mistake with the online dates, and now they won't be turned on until December 23rd, 2022 at the earliest. Can you believe it? I bought these machines thinking they would be up and running on December 5th and 12th, but that's not happening anymore. And you know what's worse? I bought them specifically because of the bonus tax depreciation thing (IRS 179 form), so they have to be online in 2022 for tax purposes. Otherwise, they're useless to me. So, I want either compensation for this mess, since it's not my fault, or a full refund for both miners. I mean, come on! I bought them with a contract start date of December 5th and December 12th, and the sales manager *** told me that won't be happening because of a Compass Mining website and deployment error. They have no clue when these machines will actually be online. This is clearly false advertising because Compass Mining clearly stated online dates of December 5th and December 12th, as you can see in the photos I provided. They promised me these dates, and now they're saying it's not happening. Can you believe the nerve?
I've been using Compass Mining to host my Bitcoin miner for the past 10 months
I've been using Compass Mining to host my Bitcoin miner for the past 10 months. Unfortunately, on April 17, my miner suddenly stopped working and it has been offline for a few days now. Their facility status page shows that there is a partial outage, but based on their explanation for which miners are affected in the *** 4 facility, my miner should still be operational.
I've tried reaching out to Compass Mining through their online support website, but they haven't responded to my service support ticket yet. Interestingly, they did take the time to send me sales emails encouraging me to continue buying from them and using their service, even though I had just filed a support ticket (as shown in the screenshot).
According to my contract, Compass Mining states that they will make the *** Services available to the customer for 95% of the time each month, using commercially reasonable efforts. Now, according to the State Bar of Texas, commercially reasonable efforts mean taking steps and performing in a manner that a well-managed entity would undertake to achieve a particular result in a determined, prudent, businesslike, and reasonable manner (as per texasbar.com).
In my opinion, Compass Mining has not acted in a commercially reasonable manner. They have poorly managed their correspondence with me by continuing to send unwanted sales emails while ignoring my support service requests. They haven't shown determination in addressing my support tickets, but they are quick to reach out to me through their sales representative.
I really hope that Compass Mining, ***, will contact me soon to discuss what's wrong with my miner and why no efforts are being made to repair it and get it back up and running.

On July 8th, I ordered a new Bitcoin mining machine, 1 Antminer S19j Pro 96 TH, ($7827.13) and hosting service ($149.92 per month) from Compass Mining. I selected *** facility. Compass promised an estimated delivery date of August and delivered the actual services on October 19. The business committed to provide mining hosting services as advertised on their website (Help everyone mine Bitcoin)). Since the inception of the services in October , I experienced consistent service outages and my miner was off line at times for several weeks. When contacted customer support, consistently received delayed responses and never know what the issue was with the new mining server that was sold to me. At the time Compass was experiencing some internal operations challenges which I was reading on the news and I believe because of that they decided to relocate my machine from my selected *** location to their *** location. There was a close to two months of outage during this timeframe. Last 9 months or so at best there were only few months that everything seemed to be working fine, then the mining server went offline again and it has been offline for more than two months now. I tried to contact Compass several times and submitted several tickets. My support request tickets were auto closed by Compass with the message that the *** facility is experiencing a partial outage at this time and due to anticipated storm. Several more weeks passed with no response. Then I received a communication from Compass that they will be increasing my monthly hosting fee due to increased electricity costs and my contract is up for renewal. They should first deliver their commitments before asking for contract fee increases. At this point, I believe Compass sold me a faulty machine and the service Compass committed to providing has not been delivered as the promised. I'd like to receive a full refund.
The business model of this company is that I, as a customer, can buy a cloud mining contract for cryptocurrency
The business model of this company is that I, as a customer, can buy a cloud mining contract for cryptocurrency. Currently, I own a miner that they operate for me, and they charge me a fee for it. I bought this miner for a few thousand dollars and was told by a customer support representative that I can sell it on their marketplace whenever I want. However, a few weeks after purchasing it, I wanted to sell because its value had increased. But when I tried to list it, they said I can no longer sell that specific miner. They didn't even publicly announce this until a month later. When I contacted their support initially, they said they would have an update on how I can sell the miner in the next few weeks. But when I finally received the email, they simply said I can't sell it (see attached emails).
To make matters worse, the market crashed, and I couldn't sell my miner at a profit because they blocked me from doing so. So, for the past few months, I've been paying the $102.59 monthly charge for an unprofitable miner. Then, on October 19, 2022, I received an email stating that my miner is broken and it will cost around $700 to repair it. I'm still required to pay the monthly hosting fee while they won't let me sell the broken miner (see email).
I've been trying to contact them to negotiate a way out of my investment, as I don't want to lose thousands of dollars or pay hundreds of dollars for a miner I didn't want. I've called their support line three times with no answer, and they have also ignored my email from 11 days ago. I have another invoice due in 2 days, and if I don't pay, they will take my miner away, leaving me trapped. I desperately need their help, but they won't respond.
Compassmining a scam platform and a ponzhi scheme. they won’t let you withdraw a dime after you invest. I lost $50k to them and their customer support team are not replying to my mail so I was able to file a complaint against them with the help of Trad erep0rt .0rg or watsap +44 7467 2O23O5 and I they help me recoup my funds with ease
Compass mining is a SCAM!
i lost all my investment to them
