Beware !
Hoping that my experience with Covenant Roofing (Leesburg, FL) will serve as a strong cautionary warning to anybody giving consideration hiring this roofing company.
As I had reason to be greatly concerned about a rather recently developed dip in the roof over the garage, I was most eager to get the roof replaced without delay, before hurricane season, and before actually having saved up enough to avoid financing.
With those concerns in mind I had to utilize the Florida PACE program. I found Covenant Roofing to be the ONLY available contractor within the program. The initial quoted cost was given as $ 19,000 clearly demonstrating that, as the only contractor in the program, they knew that they had me 'over the barrel'. After presenting 2 written comparable estimates from local non participating PACE program roofers, each OVER $ 5,300 less (!), Covenants sales rep reduced their quote to a still whopping $ 17,000, PLUS $ 200 for a permit, and $ 240 for 2 sheets of plywood for a total of $ 17,440. (btw. When I later requested to keep a small piece of leftover plywood that I had paid for, my request was denied !)
The sales pitch was lengthy with a thick pictorial book being part of the presentation. Emphasis was placed on how Covenant Roofing supposedly is unmatched in workmanship and detail. As part of the superior roofing that Covenant promised to provide I was told that all the gutters would be removed in order to properly install the drip edge, and that the gutters would be reinstalled. I was also assured that the dip over the garage would be taken care of and new plywood would be installed in that area along with any possible other area that the roofers would find a need to replace. Although not itemized, I am sure that the cost of removing and reinstalling the gutters, a tdious and time consuming process, was added into the overall cost. I questioned not only the salesman, but later also another Covenant rep if I would possibly have enough time to paint the gutters while down, however that ended up a mute issue, as the gutters were never removed ! When I later questioned how the drip edge could have been properly installed without the 'oh so important removal of the gutters that set's us apart from other roofers”, I was told that “they somehow managed to slip those under”...(a number of gutter spacers were, and still are, found by me on the ground after the project).
Worthy noting is that I specifically had asked the salesman if they subcontracted their work out and was told that : “ NO, WE HAVE OUR OWN CREW, WE DO ALL THE WORK OURSELVES” That turned out to be very questionable to say the least, as the crew that showed up consisting of 6 small in stature, underage looking, hispanics, all absolutely non english speaking. They were supervised by a 'foreman' who had limited English abilities. I suspect that the whole bunch were in the country illegally. The work was done in one day with a couple of workers returning the following day for 2 more hours.
It must be told that, while I understand that the installation of a roof is noisy, here a great amount of time it sounded, and felt, as though sledge hammers were used. I was truly worried that the roof rafters would be split, that's how severe the pounding was ! Not only did decorations I had hanging securely in the windows fly off, but as an end result the attic insulation is littered with an abundance of large pieces of roofing plywood slivers from were nails penetrated. From my layman perspective that does make me wonder if it effectively ruined the plywood leaving the whole roof subject to big time problems in years ahead.
Now, as to the dip in the roof, the reason why I thought I should not hold off with the installation of a new roof: THE DIP IS STILL THERE ! Granted, with the new multi dimensional shingles it's not quite as visually pronounced as before, yet it remains ! Initially Covenant Roofing explained the remaining dip by saying that “ it happens that way sometimes...could be the plywood, or something structural” Interestingly I was told that a new piece of plywood was installed precisely in the dip location. So, it seems to me (again, as a layman...) that unless that new piece of plywood had a dip in it there should be no more dip showing. Anyhow, my complaints were ignored, and there was no follow up. That is, until I left feedback on the FL PACE program pointing out the ongoing problem. Eventually a Covenant rep came out, acknowledged seeing the dip, climbed on the roof and into the attic. After calling his supervisor, back into the attic he went, to take pictures. Without providing any details about the dip problem the rep advised that I would be contacted in a couple of days.. Indeed I received a phone call informing me that supposedly the dip is 'structural', and again no further details were given. I asked to receive a copy of the pictures taken and they indeed were emailed. Though one would anticipate an explanation of what could possibly be viewed as a problem on the pictures, none explanation was given, none accompanied the pictures. Looking at he pictures I most certainly can not see any issue. Can however see, what appears to be daylight at the end of the roof line in a couple of places, also some of the before mentioned plywood slivers show in pictures.
I COMPARE THE PICTURES PROVIDED TO THE SAME AS IMAGES OF A CLEAR SKY WHILE BEING TOLD THAT THE CLEAR SKY IS PROOF THAT A STORM IS SHOWING. I hence asked for clarification from Covenant as to what they see in any and/or all of the pictures that would indicate a 'structural problem'. While following their apparent protocol of ignoring my request they have not bothered to give any explanation of what they see as unusual in the pictures.
As you have read my experience I hope you judge for yourself, chose wisely and hopefully find a trustworthy roofer for your project.
Recommendation: Find an honest roofing company, not COVENANT ROOFING
Professional team; hard working installers, good follow-up by foreman; quick and efficient roof

Covenant Roofing did a great job from start to finish and we are extremely happy. All of their employees are pleasant and professional. We were kept informed step by step via e-mail, texts, phone calls and even face to face. I don't think I have ever had a business keep me informed on a step by step basis as well as this company did and it was greatly appreciated. They seemed to go the extra mile and the final product is beautiful. I had several neighbors report to me that they had watched the whole process and were extremely impressed with the job, time frame and final results. We would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future. Thanks Covenant!
Had my roof replaced a few months ago and couldn't be happier, great crew, fast, and efficient, began early morning and done by evening, thank you guys. I'm very pleased to have Covenant Roofing help me select and install my first and new metal roof. Jordan helped me with the information processing stages, educating me on my best options for replacing an 18-year old shingle roof with a 26 gauge metal roof. Jared and his team were wonderful during the actual process of install. Regardless of time of day (not midnight) he answered my questions and helped me with my quandaries. I hope I'll be able to add photos of my great roof which looks absolutely stunning and has already proven to reduce the heat in our attic as well as the rest of the living portion of the house. Great job to all your team! You are great Americans!

The roof construction itself is quality work. The roofing crew arrived on the time and date specified and cleaned up after their job. My roof passed county inspection. My issue with the company is not with the roof itself, but with their warranty. The salesman advised me this company has a 15 year workmanship warranty on the roofs they install. This was a key determination to choosing this company over its many competitors in the area. The salesman even showed me examples of competing roofing company's sales contracts which indicate only a 5 year standard warranty for work done. The salesman confirmed the cost with Covenant to be higher because of this 15 year warranty. I signed a sales contract which states "12. ALL WORK COVERED BY A 5 YEAR WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY. CRC upgrade_warranty applies." The salesman confirmed that their CRC (Covenant Roofing Company) upgrade warranty was to total the roof under a 15 year warranty. He stated I would receive the warranty at the completion of the roof. I was sold. The roof was built. The final CRC inspection was completed by a project manager. I asked about the warranty paperwork. He stated I would receive the papers upon payment. I asked specifically if there were any out of pocket costs. He said he did not know, but that the paperwork would indicate such terms. At a later time, this is the warranty coverage I received: "Covenant Roofing & Construction, Inc. warrants to you an extended warranty of __15___ years. This warranty is transferable to one new owner. This warranty includes 5 years of unconditional workmanship. An officer of the company will need to perform a maintenance inspection of the roof starting on the 6th year and every year thereafter for the life of the warranty. There will be a fee of $150.00 per inspection for the recertification of the roof. If an inspection is missed the warranty will become void. This warranty does not cover product defects, extreme weather conditions or acts of God. This warranty does not cover any additional cost to remove and/or reinstall any roof peripherals to complete repair." Needless to say I was distraught over the additional costs to maintaining this warranty and the indication that it would become null and void if I was non-compliant. After several in person and phone conversations, there was no remedy to the fact that I would need to make additional payment beyond that of the sales contract, if I desired to continue my warranty coverage after 5 years. They did, however, gift me 2 separate VISA gifts cards in the amount of $50 and $150 for my inconvenience. The office was pleasant and apologetic in listening to my concern, but apologies will not cover my cost after the initial limitations. I advised them not to sell customers on what they are not actually offering in their agreement and without making such knowledge available to the consumer.
Covenant Roofing was very easy to work with. They knew we were on a tight schedule and had our roof replaced 3 business days after I signed contract. The roof looks great and will add to the value of selling our house.

I was hoping to leave a better review for this company, but in the final analysis I can not. Though the completed roof seems to meet what was stipulated, the process to completion proved unsatisfactory. One of this company's major problems is in the realm of communication and follow up which results in poor customer service. The communication was inconsistent and sometimes misleading, and not just with us, but among themselves, fellow contractors and their laborers. Toward the end of the process, which took much longer than what is typical, unsupervised laborers were left to complete the job. They did so with little regard for our safety or neatness. The only entry to our home remained littered and obstructed with their rubbish until 8pm in the evening. Furthermore, almost no effort was made to watch were they were tossing debris from our roof unto our walkway while we attempted to navigate through their rubbish whenever we had to enter or exit our home. Upon the completion of the job, it took them almost a week to come and collect the construction trash left in our front and side yard. As a business owner I understand how essential clear communication and professional customer service is to the reputation of one's business. A company's product, though good, is severely devalued when communication and cusomer service are poor. I hope they correct these serious internal problems so they can become the excellent company they have the potential to be.

Covenant roofing was very easy to work with and communicated throughout the process. Would recommend them for your roofing needs.
After scammers tried the door to door scare plan in our development, Josh came out and inspected the roof, letting us know we were ok. Lately, we developed a leak and Josh got the call. He did another fine job and we got things going. The crew came on time, did a great job despite 95 degree days, cleaned up and left after 2 days. The work is professional and top quality and Covenant stands behind their work.

The first of April the sales guy was at our house for a quote
The first of April the sales guy was at our house for a quote.we told him we were leaving on April 7th for 3 weeks. He said they would have it done before we left so we could inspect it and pay them. We agreed to that but they didn't start the job until April 13th and had me overnight a check before I even saw the job. We got back the first of May and the roof looks good but they left the plastic tarps on our bushes in the Florida sunshine and burnt them up. They never told us about this. We called and sent pictures and were told they would replace them. Now after several more calls they told me to just cut them all down and they will eventually grow back! I would not recommend this company because you can't believe what they tell you.

I am an engineer and decided that my roof was in need of being replaced
I am an engineer and decided that my roof was in need of being replaced. I got quotes from five different roofing companies and decided to hire Covenant based on their customer service, responsiveness and their excellent ratings for quality from multiple review web sites such as this one. Covenant is not the cheapest but they are competitive in price. If you are someone who values quality workmanship and want to have peace of mind that your roof was installed correctly by experienced roofers, then Covenant is your company. I live in a ranch style home that required 58 squares (that's big roof). The roofers came in and had the entire old roof off and the new roof on in just two days. My neighbors house has much less roof and hired a different company that took four days to complete their roof. I can not emphasize enough the high quality you will get with Covenant. I feel like I made the correct decision 100%.
