Furniture stuck in warehouse
My furniture was delivered to the warehouse on 1/20/22 and cannot be delivered because the sku#'s don't match. The warehouse has contacted Direct Buy to let them know of the issue multiple times and no one will get back to them. I have been calling them every day for the last 10 days and only get the initial operator who then tries to elevate the issue, but no one is ever available and has not contacted me. This is ridiculous. The order was place on October 1. Someone needs to get in touch with the warehouse immediately and fix the sku #s.
Desired outcome: I want the sku #'s corrected and my furniture delivered.
Four hands order
I ordered a Four Hands couch, ottoman and extra chair on November 30, 2021.. As you move through the website and update the cart, the address defaults to your default address. As soon as I sent in my order, I realized that the Four Hands order was being sent to my house in California instead for Utah. I notified DB the same day. They never responded, so I assumed that the address was changed. I went to check on the status of the order on December 15, 2021 and the address had not been corrected. I notified DB again and was told that the address could not be changed. In order to fix the address, I was instructed that I had to cancel and re-order. Then I was told that I could no longer have the same price as my original order and it would cost a couple of thousand dollars more than my original order. The couch had not been manufactured. All of this could have been resolved if DB had responded to my request for the address change on Nov. 30, 2021. Additionally, the status stated that the couch would be delivered on December 9, 2021. The couch has not been manufactured. The manufacture said that the address could be changed up until the merchandise is on the truck and out for delivery.
Desired outcome: I would like the merchandise at the price that I ordered it for on November 30, 2021
2 bedroom sets: missing parts on both and and damaged second set
January 2021 - My partner purchased 2 bedroom sets from DirectBuy in January 2021. August 2021 the first set came in: missing mattress slats. Not able to use the bed. After several discussions with customer service, he escalated the call and spoke with VP-Lynda. Lynda said she would look into it. After no resolution, he called her back and she again said she would look into it. No resolution as of yet. Second set came in today (September 17, 2021) badly damaged drawers and unglued mirror frame. Also a lot of missing hardware. It looks like it was a return and repackaged then shipped to my partner. Truly disappointed with poor service and products. Guests have had to sleep on mattresses in the floor. The 2 bedroom sets are useless. Please resolve this ASAP. Money back. I look forward to heading back from someone by Tuesday September 21, 2021. Regards, Lisette
Desired outcome: Refund for both bedroom sets

Read full review of DirectBuyI paid in full for warranty now company out of business due to unethical behaviour.
On 07/18/2014 I purchased an auto warranty which is not due to expire until 07/18/2019. I just recently found out that the company went out of business and I'm requesting a full refund of $1800.00 since the company never did any repairs on my vehicle. Direct buy auto warranty also has changed their contact number and can not no longer be reach buy phone or email.
I paid, in full for an extended warranty and have since found out the company is out of business and there is no way to contact them. I want a full refund of $2759 since I never had any repairs done and looks like I never will.
direct buy auto warranty
We took Direct Buy Auto Warranty on July 28, 1914 on our 2011 Buick Enclave.
It should have lasted until July 28th 2018. We have not yet used their auto warranty, as we have been fortunate with repairs on our car. But, today we have a issue with our Buick and the dealer who is repairing our car cannot get a hold of this company. My husband and I cannot get a hold of this Company.
We have paid this Company $1749.00 for NOTHING! Who do I call to get any action on this situation?
I am in the same situation. Were you able to resolve this issue?
How did you solve the problem?
office furniture
I have a membership with Direct Buy of Little Rock. I have used it twice to outfit two separate business offices with sofas, tables, chairs, and desks. Both times I saved some money (which is great). both time I have been delayed and delayed and delayed getting my stuff. I always ordered early. Shipping has always been a problem. This company can help you save money when buying in bulk but the cost is ALWAYS in shipping and receiving goods. The customer service sucks when you call for updates and help finding your merchandise. Forget asking for an expedited shipment or any sort of help rushing a late order.
Buyers beware.
household appliances
The company is a definite ripoff. The sales representative called and called to get us in for the sales pitch. Upon listening to all of the "wonderful" opportunities to save all "all" brands, we signed-up. At the first opportunity to use the service, we got no assistance and continue to get no service. Haven't been able to complete a sign sale.
extended warranty / vehicle service contract
Do not purchase an extended warranty from Direct Buy Auto Warranty ("DBW"). I purchased the Platinum Elite LEP (DBW's top-of-the-line warranty) (the "Warranty") for $2, 600.00 to cover my 2012 F-450 through 200, 000 miles (bought the Warranty to cover the gap when factory warranty expired at 100, 000). My vehicle was serviced every 5, 000 miles by the dealer from whom I purchased the truck. I have made two claims under the Warranty since I purchased the Warranty six months ago, and DBW has denied both claims based upon the "wear and tear" exclusion. Prior to the last denial, DBW misquoted policy language in an effort to convince me that I was responsible for tear down even if the breakdown was a covered loss. For those who have a DBW warranty, already, DO NOT LET THEM charge you for tear down on a covered loss. Paragraph V(B)(2) specifically states that you must authorize the tear down; however, the only time DBW is not required to reimburse you is in the event that the loss is not a covered loss (which means DBW must pay for tear down on a covered loss). The last claim was for an evaporator core (no mechanical moving parts). DBW claims told me that freon and oil are high psi moving parts, which caused the "wear and tear" to the core, even though DBW's own adjuster could point to specific indications that it was wear and tear other than the "the time and mileage" on my vehicle. I told DBW that is was clear that every claim I may make in the future was going to be denied based upon "wear and tear" for the simple fact that my truck had 100, 000+ miles on it, and that DBW should not sell high mileage warranties when DBW has no intention of honoring its obligations. I cancelled my contract on the spot and am now jumping through the hoops in an effort to get a refund of my remaining premium. As a small bit of solace, the premium refund will cost DBW more than if they had simply honored the warranty and paid the claim. In case there remains any question, DO NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM DIRECT BUY AUTO WARRANTY!
If anyone knows of a class action lawsuit against this company please list an email address, phone number or something because I purchased what I thought was a legitimate warranty, paid $1600 in full (no installments) because they said that was of course the way to save on the purchase. I purchased the Platinum Elite package. They sent me my membership cards and booklets and everything seemed legitimate until I needed to use it. My claim for my car was never able to be submitted because the automotive shop could never reach anyone and neither could I when I reached out to Direct Buy. I then looked online to see that they’re not accredited by the BBB Better Business Bureau and then to further find that the company just as a whole is not legitimate.
not refunded $500 gas card for contract terminated w no claims as promised.
We bought an Auto Warranty policy from DirectBuy Austo Warranty of NJ on our 2006 Mercedes Benz E 350 in 2011 with the terms that we would be sent a $500 gas card at the close of contract if there had been no or minimal claims paid. Contract termed in January 23, 2015 and we have called customer service multiple times every month and always told the check would be in the mail or that "someone" would call us back". Still waiting. Will be writing our Attorney General's office next as I find it incredible DirectBuy continues to advertise for more customers (victims?)given their history of fraud complaints.
Policy sold to Nick Gordon 1205 W Edgewood Dr Friendswood Tx 77546 VSC # 785335 from 1/23/11 to 1/23/2015 total price 1645 paid in full. OUR ADDRESS IS NOW 103 Fallbrook, Lakeway, Austin 78734 and phone [protected] or [protected].
direct buy warranty -
MIDDLESEX COUNTY – A company that advertised customers "would never pay for covered auto repairs bills again" has agreed to stop operating in New Jersey within six months and reimburse consumers who purchased motor vehicle service contracts but were not provided the coverage as promised.
The settlement resolves a lawsuit brought by the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs last year after Direct Buy Associates Inc, which operates as Direct Buy Auto Warranty, with a business address in the Iselin section of Woodbridge, allegedly violated the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, the Regulations Governing General Advertising, the Plain Language Act and the Business Corporations Act through its advertising, offering for sale and sale of motor vehicle service contracts.
Direct Buy Auto Warranty advertised it sold auto warranties and/or extended auto warranties that provided "comprehensive" and "bumper to bumper" coverage. The company, however, sold motor vehicle service contracts, not warranties, and the coverage offered was limited by a number of exclusions.
Eddie Miller, Direct Buy Auto Warranty manager, said the company never advertised "bumper to bumper" coverage.
"Many customers purchase an auto warranty or extended warranty and they think everything is covered, " said Miller, adding that the contract is posted on the company's website, allowing customers to see what they are purchasing before they pay.
In addition, Miller thinks it was an overreaction by the state to force the company to stop operating in New Jersey.
He said the company agreed to the settlement in an effort to avoid costly litigation.
He said of the 270 consumer complaints over nearly four years, 41 were directed to the consumer affairs and the rest were taken from the Better Business Bureau. He said the majority had been resolved by the company before consumer affairs got involved. Of the 43 customers scheduled to receive restitution, Miller said 27 that had already been refunded, canceled or claims paid, so the restitution amount should have been reduced.
"We are striving to make the company better, " said Miller, adding that many of the directives have already been implemented by the company.
According to the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, the company advertised that customers who purchased coverage "would never pay for covered auto repair bills again, " and that it would pay "100 percent of covered repairs" and that there was "no limit on how much we will pay your shops labor rate."
But in reality, the motor vehicle service contracts provided by the company did not pay for repairs that exceeded the manufacturers suggested retail price for motor vehicle parts or for labor that exceeded the "current national flat rate."
The settlement will provide up to $199, 559.75 in restitution to qualifying consumers who purchased the company's motor vehicle service contracts and filed complaints with the consumer affairs division. The company also was assessed a $500, 000 civil penalty, and it will pay an additional $111, 009.41 in reimbursement to the state for its attorneys' fees and investigative costs.
Out of the total settlement amount, $400, 000 of the civil penalty is suspended but will become due if the company violates the terms of the final consent judgment.
"Businesses that engage in deceptive tactics like those alleged here harm New Jersey consumers, violate New Jersey's consumer protection laws, and will not be permitted to do business in the state. This settlement protects New Jersey consumers by prohibiting Direct Buy Auto Warranty from selling contracts to our consumers and by requiring that they shut down its New Jersey business, " Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman said.
Consumers reported the company denied claims verbally, and that the reasons for issuing a denial changed when consumers made repeated inquiries. Under the settlement, the company is required to issued written notifications of denials and must state the reason for the denial.
Under the settlement, the company will be required to inform the state's consumer affairs office of any complaints it receives during at least the next 12 months and how those complaints were resolved. Any additional complaints directly filed with the division will be forwarded to the company. Those consumers not satisfied with the company's response may choose to arbitrate their complaints before the Division's Alternative Dispute Resolution Unit.
Under the terms of the settlement, the company's website must be revised to state the company no longer sells motor vehicle service contracts to New Jersey consumers, and to provide its new business address outside the state, once it shuts down its business operations in New Jersey.

auto warranty scam
When I bought my car (used) I decided to by a warranty DBW offered the coverage I was looking for. I made an initial payment and was told the remainder would charged to my account over 18 months this was May 2013.
I was told there is 1month or 1000 mile waiting period before I could use my coverage.
6 Weeks after the purchase about 850 miles I had a transmission problem. I took the car to Ford and called them. After getting the car checked at my cost they suggested I go to AAMCO who they had a working relationship wit. I had the car moved to AAMCO they checked it and confirmed the need to have the transmission rebuilt. DBW now said to me it was a pre existing condition which the owner of AAMCO assured could not be the case. They again sent a person to look at the car and now declined due to the fact that I did not have 1000 miles which they informed me warranty was after a month plus a 1000 miles the conformation had a month - 1000 miles.
Subsequent to that i had a starter problem which they first declined then paid a third of the cost both low balling the labor and parts again at AAMCO. Next I had leek from the oil filter housing which they also declined. Finally last week I front wheel bearing problems which they sent someone to look at he agreed and indicated it was covered they of course called and declined to pay. The owner of AMMCO was furious with them and felt that I had been ripped off.
If you need any further details the owner of AMMCO Roy Cohen can supply the details since this has been the only place to service the car. He has been a pleasure to deal with and can be reached at [protected].

I have some recorded conversations with Direct Buy representativeas evidence they are engaged in deception and false advertisement. Joined direct buy back in sept 2013 because we were going to do a remodel.
Went there today to pick out some kitchen cabinets for our kitchen. We already had a design. We were told it didn't matter we would have to pay 300.00 to see a designer in order to buy cabinets.
I think this is just wrong and a ripoff . We paid 2000.00 dollars to them to buy products, and now we have to pay them again to order?
This is a total SCAM!

I, apparently along with other unsuspecting people have been taken for a scam by direct buy auto. I paid $1900 for my warranty for my 2002 Mercedes.
