HELLO MY NAME IS ANONYMOUS AND I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING AT THIS STORE FOR ALL MY ELECTRONIC NEEDS WITH MY 5 COLLEGE KIDS
HELLO MY NAME IS ANONYMOUS AND I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING AT THIS STORE FOR ALL MY ELECTRONIC NEEDS WITH MY 5 COLLEGE AGED CHILDREN FOR YEARS NOW. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED LAPTOP AND SINCE BRINGING IT HOME, IT'S BEEN CONSTANTLY RETURNED FOR REPAIR. IT STILL HAS THE SAME ISSUES AFTER EACH PICK-UP, NEVER FIXED. MANAGERS SAY 'YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR'. THE LAPTOP HAD A WARRANTY WHICH WASN'T HONORED. IT HASN'T WORKED SINCE PURCHASE AND THEY WON'T FIX IT, REPLACE IT, OR REFUND ME. IF THEY CAN'T HONOR WARRANTIES OR STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS, THEY SHOULDN'T SELL THEM. MY LAST VISIT INVOLVED A MANAGER AT THE MANCHACA LOCATION WHO WAS UNHELPFUL, CLAIMING NO ISSUES FOUND AND MISSING REPAIR RECORDS. HE WAS RUDE AND BLAMED ME FOR BUYING USED. THEY SENT ME TO ANOTHER LOCATION AN HOUR AWAY ON ANDERSON. THE MANAGER THERE SUGGESTED I TRANSPORT MY LAPTOP BETWEEN STORES FOR A POSSIBLE FIX, WHICH WAS UNREASONABLE CONSIDERING THE TRAVEL AND INCONVENIENCE. HIS DEFENSIVENESS AND IRE WHEN I REFUSED MADE ME FEEL THREATENED AND UNSAFE ABOUT PICKING UP MY LAPTOP.

I bought a computer from Discount Electronics for 407.76
I bought a computer from Discount Electronics for 407.76. I got it in and it worked for two hours. Next morning it showed a message on the screen saying Bad System Config issue and could not repair itself. I called the company and spoke to ***. I told him I wanted a refund. The computer I received was dirty and scratched. It was a refurb so the scratches, I can understand but not all the dust you could see through the vent holes. *** asked me to take the computer apart and be his hands. He said something had just came loose during shipping probably. I asked him how come it worked for a while if something came loose during shipping. He had no answer. I told him no. I was not paying for a computer that I had to work on. I asked for a refund. He told me they could repair or replace but I told him I did not trust their products after seeing what I had received so I again asked for a refund. He said they could do that and sent me a form to fill out. I filled it out and sent it back to them. They then sent an email saying they did not refund money. I tried calling them several more times but no one answered their phone so I asked via email several times for a refund and a return postage paid label to return the computer. They refused. They said they only send return labels for repairs or replace. I then bought my own return label for 28.00 and returned the computer. Again asking for a refund. I got an email after they received the computer saying I had a store credit. I do not want a store credit. I want a refund of 445.00 for what i was out for a computer that does not work and that they have. I think this is a terrible company. In my case they sold me a dirty, unusable computer as refurbished.

Used laptop purchase
I purchased a hp zbook g3 studio laptop from their website paid just over 400 dollars for a "certified refurbished" laptop. Very prompt shipping but everything else is absolute trash. The laptop was packaged nicely and did not show up damaged to the eye. They includee a 65w adapter when the laptop requires a much more robust 150w adapter. Upon starting the laptop the fans whined very loud and vibrated but that soon went away. What didnt go away was a short intermittent scratchy burst coming from 1 of 2 speakers that would play any sound at all. The other speaker is completely dead. I emailed them and seemed optimistic after receiving a reply the next day admitting fault of the adapter. I opened the laptop after charging it all night to a full battery. Attempting to play a video game I had downloaded sucked over 70% of the battery in less than 20 minutes on low settings. The companies return policy is literally highway robbery. Store credit only no shipping coverage 15% restock fee. Item must be returned to them before they will send you another item or reimburse with store credit. I have always been treated much better on ebay with atleast full disclosure of the believed ailments of a used item. This was supposed to have been gone through by what I assume to have been a trained technician otherwise im unsure where this could be considered certified in any way.
Desired outcome: I would really like just a refund. I was willing to try another laptop yesterday (the day I receives the order) but today all I can think is that this will continue to happen with anything they will send me.
Companies way of doing business
Nov. 18, 2010 I received my order for a refurbished CD/DVD burner to replace a CD/DVD burner in a Dell Dimension computer. I paid $38.60 including $9.60 shipping. The electrical hookup was wrong so I returned it. They charged me a $15.00 restocking fee. I paid $9.60 to return the Burner so I'm into the deal $48.20. They issued me a $16.00 in store credit which was worthless to me. After the fact, I find out this is their business policy. Their business policy should be in bold print before a person submits an order. I would have kept the burner and pitched it in the garbage and saved $9.60 had I been aware of this company’s way of doing business. Also if there is more than one electrical hook-up for a part the company should help the consumer by giving better instructions before and order is submitted. I told them to stick the in store credit where the sun don't shine. Caveat emptor.
Refuse to refund money on a defective part
I paid this company $15.00 plus shipping total $21.00, for a Tower Fan for a Dell PC, It ended up not working, I sent it back (another $7. shipping), they said the testing would cost $20.00 ..then they said it works... I demanded a refund..they refused and offered a $10.00 store credit...my total cost for this product has now reached $28.00...I expected a new fan when I ordered it, not a refurbished one...after several emails, they still refuse to refund my money..do NOT under any circumstance purchase anything from the outfit...they ARE a rip off
Sells crap
I bought a laptop battery from the online version of this store on April 21st 2009 because it was a good deal. I paid for and received the battery along with a receipt, nothing else.
The battery started to fail in mid to late July. Here was MY mistake. I did not immediately contact the store about the battery failure. I have a litany of excuses; vacation, business trip, ignorance etc. but all along i thought. "This store is an actual brick & mortar store, they'll treat me right" Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! a 'Jake' from the online division informed me it was past the 90 days. (by about 12 days) i pushed back. He referred me to the online warranty, 90 days. I asked to speak to his superior, he (jake) said no and "90 days".
What is most irritating about this experience is not that he would not bend on the 90 days, (he should have then, i would not be writing this review, but a good one) Nor is it that i was never able to talk to Jakes superior, (if you're doing a good job you have nothing to fear about this) but mostly that the battery was junk. Discount electronics sells CRAP. it's cheaper because it's cheap junk. The do not care about you as a customer, and they do not care about their name, and they do not care about their products. Do Not buy anything from this store!
