Their on demand service is constantly down. They have limited options to binge or choose from and when you download them they says it's available for 30 days. Try to play it and it says expired. This has been going on for a year, the whole time I have been with them. Technical support says it's a software problem that everyone is experiencing the problem and there is nothing that can be done right now. And because it is a free service, no credits can be given. To be it's a part of having service with my satellite company and their services are substandard. Dish has not proven to me that they care about me or any of their customers. I don't understand how they have a KD Powers customer service good rating because it's been horrible for a year.
Event has expired code 447 though I have 26 days left to watch at the same time.
Every on demand show that I download won't play and shows the 447 message...event expired...This is ridiculous! It's been like this for over a year ...very poor business practices.
By far Dish has been the worse satellite system EVER! NOTHING on Demand ever works and when you call customer service you literally have no idea what the employee is saying and at the end of the call, you’re more confused than at the beginning! I can’t wait for my contract to be over to cancel the [censored]tiest service I’ve ever had!
I have the same problem. I would cancel dish but my husband doesn't understand Netflix or Amazon or Hulu. I rarely watch dish. Too aggravating.
I have the same problem I download a show go to watch it says expired how can it be expired I just downloaded it ? And it’s on almost all the shows I want to watch what good is it if it doesn’t work and the money I have to pay every month is ridiculous when I can even use the service this is false advertising and I feel like it’s theft I pay for something and I’m not getting what I pay for and they won’t fix the problem or credit the bill for services not rendered I just want to watch the show I chose if I can’t then what good is this service why am I paying so much money a month I can watch roku or fire stick on the internet and save $2000 a year and that’s no movie channels I can’t afford them so my advice to anyone wanting to get dish the on demand does not work
This is my work around when this happens. When you get to the screen that says watch now or watch later, using factory remote control, immediately choose to move to the watch now button and wait. 99% of the time this will work
I see all the negative clicks on this. One is mine. I tried this a couple times before reading this and it didn't work. Went back and did it again a few minutes later... it worked! WTF? It's hit and miss.
Event Expired error 447, Customer Representative resets Hopper, apologizes, asks me when the system last reset (how should I know), apologizes, resets Hopper again, apologizes, offers to send out Tech, Tech comes out, says software issue, apologizes, LEAVES, problem still exists. Conclusion? Not a hardware problem, not a software problem, IT IS A DISH NETWORK PROBLEM therefore it has become my problem until my contract expires. The only way this can be fixed is to wipe it with bath tissue and flush it! I’ve had Dish for 7 months and I hate that I ever bought into their hype, it has truly cost me.
I'm having the same issue as most others on this forum. I try to watch On Demand TV shows and I get the error "event expired". I also can click on an episode that shows "Free On Demand" and when I click on it, it shows that it's not free and only gives me the option of Netflix. If I try again 30 minutes later, it might be free again. I can't use what would be a cool tool if it worked, whereas when you get to the end of an episode, it pops up the option to go to the next episode...it doesn't work. I pay $140/month, this is just a basic service, no movie channels, etc. I depend on On Demand to have something to watch because otherwise I would have to watch the same old tired shows over and over again. I wish I had $1 every time Die Hard has played, sometimes on 3 channels at once.
I see your comment is dated 2018. Let me tell you, it is now 2022 and I am still having the same problem! I try to “rent” a free on demand show or movie and I select “watch later”. Then when I go to watch it a couple hours later, it says “event has expired”! I just downloaded it a couple hours earlier! Very frustrating! Especially as much as Dish charges me each month.
What options do we have in place of Dish satellite for us in the south east coast “country”? As a senior citizen I’m not too fond of these misc download sticks and such. Never thought I’d say this but I miss Comcast Cable! Ay least on demand actually worked and there wernt glitches and outages left and right! Pay more get less, with a side of BS. That’s what TV is all about these days!
Mine is saying the same with supposedly 29 days and 23 hours to watch. Their a joke because I've had this happen quite regularly.
I have this exact same issue-on demand shows expire WHILE I AM DOWNLOADIG THEM! Can't even watch them. Dish doesn't care "it's an known issue" well how about you fix it? If I wasn't forced to use Dish because of my location, I would switch back to DirectTV!
I see all the negative clicks on this. One of them is mine. I did this same thing several times before finding this thread and it DID NOT WORK! Tried it again a few minutes later... it worked ! WTF? It's seems to be hit and miss. Good luck!
On demand movie freezes at random points in movie. Must do a system reset to get back to watching t.v.
I say it's time to open up a lawsuit. Not getting what we're paying for.
Feb. 12, 2023 and this is still an issue. I'm ready to file a lawsuit. This is theft.
Dish Display: Available to watch for 15 days 17 hours
Me: *clicks "Watch"*
Dish prompt: Event Not Available 447 The event has expired.
F. U., Dish!
Ya I started watching The white lotus on demand. It recorded the two seasons then when I started to play them some said expired even when trying to watch the same day it was recorded. It's like False advertising!
It's creating a me too movement but for Dish customers. Lol Frustrating they haven't fixed the problem by now.
