using our movie and tv channels instead of sports
We already have enough sports channels which we don't watch since we aren't sports fans, in fact, we HATE sports! And with all the sports channels, why do you use our movie and tv channels to put on sports? This isn't fair, and it's not what we signed up for. We got dish because of these channels, plus others that we like, and yet you continue to use them to put on sports! DON'T THEY BELONG ON THE SPORTS CHANNELS? We have been talking of changing over to Netflix because of this. You are treating your customers badly, and if you don't honor your word on how many tv and movie channels AND sports channels we really have, then you are going to lose all your customers.
bill
I have never had dish network services. I have been getting collection calls for a couple months for some man with the same last name. I call them back every time a tell them I don't have dish and that person doesn't reside in my home. They either hang up, put me back to the main menu or lie and tell me they took me off their calling list. The next week they call from a different number. Today I filed a complaint with the FCC.
overcharged
I have repeatedly been overcharged by this company, including the last 2 months. I'm tired of calling them every time. I think they do this on purpose and I suspect many people do not even notice that they are being overcharged. One time they had auto renew set up even though I never authorized auto-renew. Another time they just add on charges that I never authorized.
I was charged over what I usually pay...$89.99 now it says $121.25...Please correct this...Marie Boden Carey Ohio
Dish network
Charges keeps going up lied about promotion package 3 yrs no up fees (so not true most corrupt company I ever went though to the point i'm seeking legal action) called several times to get nowhere. my new bill for may 2017 is 402.00 really what a corrupt company they are teling me it due to fee from going off auto pay lol can you believe this [censor]... michele
local channels
I've been a Dish customer for 6 years and this is the first time I am unhappy with them. I started at $39.99 now I'm paying $93.00 and they took away my local channels that I'm still paying for because Dish and Hearst can not agree on a contract.
The Account Specialists said I have to call every month and complain in order to get the $10 or $15 taken off my bill.
I totally agree with this complaint. I have no reception where I live in New London, NH. Finally agreed with Dish, because of Comcast poor customer service. Got Dish for my local tv. $29.99 for local, and now $10 increase for to $120 a month. I did not sign up to hear them bicker, or to be harassed by their patronizing. I am supposed to be home recuperating from major health issues. My spirits were lifted by watching a few of the morning broadcasts, and now I am subjected to rock flinging Dish videos. The old saying was, "the customer is always right" doesn't mean anything. Then after 20 minutes when you call in fuming to a service rep who doesn't understand English saying, I don't understand you please repeat. I have to go outside to scream.
billing ripoff
Acct# [protected]
Let me start off first by saying that your prices are tremendously overpriced for TV service. When I began service with Dish, I was comfortable with the amount. After the first two years, well really first, I had to call every few months because the monthly charge was just too high just for TV service compared to other service providers. With regards to my account balance, I am very confused how you have come to the $134.33 amount owed. $2.71 previous balance – why did my bill go from $108.47 12/21/16 to 1/21/17 $111.18. The numbers do not make sense.
$7.00 late charge – As you were informed in advance, on March 3, 2017, I was moving on March 31, 2017 and no longer required services effective as of that date. You cannot bill me 3/21/17 in advance for services I have cancelled 4/6/17 – 5/5/17 and tackle on a $7.00 late charge when I am just waiting for my final bill for services 3/6/17 – 3/31/17. I refuse to pay this late charge. In addition to the above, I refuse to pay for the following listed on my final bill for services 3/6/17 – 3/31/17:
$12.00 Equipment Return Box – I never received the box to return equipment. I had to call Dish once again because I did not receive it, so the agent emailed a label to me and told me to use my own personal box. The representative assured me I would not be charged since I was using my own box. This should be all noted on the account.
$3.99 movie charge - I did not order this movie.
$5.80 Courtesy 3 of 6 charge – I will not be paying this courtesy charge as it is obviously a bogus charge.
According to my calculations, after the deductions from the $134.33 my total amount owed should be $102.94 which is still a lot considering this is TV services for only 25 days, not even 31 days, especially considering my monthly bill was $108.47. If you calculate 25 days at my regular $108.47 it really equals $87.50, so I think I am being generous here. I have gone back and forth via email with your customer support department Email Reference # [protected]. I have not ever seen a courtesy charge on an Optimum bill when I dealt with them previously like what is that? I feel like you are trying to rip me off to the fullest since I cancelled service with Dish because the cost is way too high in comparison with other providers for just TV service. This is not a way to treat a customer who has been a customer since 2011 especially if you are hoping they will use Dish in the future.
Thank you,
Angelica

I do not like your services anymore. I was with your service for two years and dis not realize that I was on a pre paid service. I tried to get you to change that but you wouldn't. I paid on time every month. I ended up canceling the service on 1/7 I requested boxes I didn't receive the boxes until the middle of march . I refuse to pay a bill when I still have equipment. So you got your equipment back two weeks ago and you debited my account for 180 dollars saying it's past a certain time and you can debit my acct. I'm disappointed that I had to leave the service but you pressed me out for payment and you hadn't received your equipment that you also tried to charge me for until you got it back. You had a supervisor on 4/11 lie about when they would be taking money she said may 11th. I have a money order that was being sent out today. But you devoted an account that clearly is your fault you didn't receive your money sooner you wouldnot send me boxes till over a month later when you said 7 business days they would arrive. I have friends that have your service and they are experiencing things as well. I definitely will tell them to leave your service. I have never had a, company not do what they need to. To get their equipment and not automatically debit someone's acct because of the time you wasted. I will never use your service for home or my business again.
service
I wanted your company to know why we decided to cancel our service with you. I got laid off from my job for a short period of time and your company had zero interest in helping us beyond the 9 day extension period. We asked for 1 more week and all we were met with was "sorry, we cant help you" and you followed up the sorry by cutting off our services. When I called your company and told them I no longer wanted your services and was going to go with another carrier no one bothered to ask me why. I have dealt with various companies in my life and none were ever so unwilling and seemingly unfeeling as your company was to help me with a problem. Perhaps in the future you could think a little more about the customer and a little less about the almighty dollar! In fact I was met with what felt like so much disdain that if some one were to ask my opinion I would tell them to get some rabbit ears and put tin foil on them before I would recommend your company .
termination fee
I had to terminate my service because I moved to a place that doesn't use dish and I was told to return the cable box and they would terminate the early termination fee and I could make payments on the rest of the bill and now dish has lied about what they said they would do. And have taken money out of my account and should not have done that. If you all record your calls you would see that this is what was told to me. You have just lied about what you said and not truthful. I was with dish for a long time and I don't deserve this. I was willing to make payments on the whole bill including the termination fee but I was told that you would terminate if I return to box. I really need for you to put the money back in my account. And we can make arrangements for payment for what I owe.
billing
I signed up for a Heartland promotion. The promotion was $3.00 per month. I paid for 6 months in advance. This was completed on 12/21)16 with Mark at 1:27pm. I have spoke with three people since March 2017. Today Sam told me that my fees would increase to $6.00 per month because I did not have that package that I said I had. Supervisor Alex told me that Mark had made a mistake, and that I never paid $3.00 per month, and that I did not have the channels that I've been watching since December. I informed her that I had proof of my monthly payments. Alex the Supervisor, said that she did not have a personal line, said the company did not have uploading capabilities, and that the company did not have the ability to accept faxes to prove what I have been watching and paying since December 21, 2016. Why do I need to be charged an extra $6.00 per month because Mark made a mistake. Although we both made it clear what I was paying for?
dish mastercard reward card expired and they won't reissue.
I signed up for dish back in May of 2016 and I got a $100 dollars rebate master card, I put it in my wallet to use when I had an emergency not knowing that the card expires, well at the beginning of March of 2017 my husband lost his job and didn't have money to pay a bill and thought I would use it and when I called to get the balance it said 0, so I called the reward customer service line [protected] and spoke to Jaymie she said that could not re-issue my card I asked to speak to her supervisor and she also said no, I was devastated I couldn't believe that I lost 100 dollars that I desperately needed so bad. I know that I probably made an honest mistake of not noticing that the reward card expired but I thought that rewards card don't ever expire. I wish they were more understanding since I have been a good customer.
They have not try to get in touch with me by email, phone or any other way.
I never heard from them, I don’t even know if they’re still around because they scammed so many people that I don’t know if they can survive. It sure would be nice to get the $100 dollar’s especially in this hard times.
I had the same experience. The expiration is only about 90 days from issue as well. More thieving from these lowlifes.
Just had it happen to me as well. Mine was for $500!
They said I had 75 days to redeem the card but they never notified me of that fact.
Dish said they contract with a company, Alviere, to handle the gift cards. Dish said Alviere sent us emails telling me to redeem the card, I did not receive any emails, and that Dish was not liable for the $500.
There is no way I would have forgot, or not wanted to, redeem $500.
I don't trust either company now. Cancelled Dish and took a hit for canceling but I am not giving them any of my money for service now or in the future.
contract
My 87 year old grandmother moved into our house once her lease ended in March. We had 2 lines from Dish added to our home to accommodate her. They are saying that she broke her contract and are wanting to charge her $320. There was no way for her to move her service as she didn't move to a new home she also moved to our home which already has dish. They are not willing to do anything to assist us.
billing
Customer beware. We sold our house and closed our dish account (after several years) last june. We had been ebilled monthly, which was fine. Yesterday in the mail I received a letter from a collection agency stating that I owe dish network $90.in the 9 months since we closed our account I never received a bill from dish. Nothing. Needless to say I was shocked to see the collection notice. I called dish. They supposedly transferred me to the office of the president (i'm not buying that) where I was informed that upon discontinuing my service, they had also stopped the ebilling and began sending the final bill to the service address. There is no mail delivery at the service address. She could not explain why they wouldn't just ebill the final bill as they had been doing with my monthly bills, but insisted that there are many ways to search on-line to find my bill (that I didn't have any idea I even owed). The bottom line is, I had no reason to suspect that I owed anything, and dish network took it upon themselves to send a bill to a non-existent address.
billed for unreturned equipment.
Paid last bill Dec.23/2016, service covered until Jan/15/2016.
I was told I would have a credit.
Equipment returned to dish, picture taken of tracking number.
Received confirmation that equipment was received via email.
My account was billed 75.60 for un-returned Joey, both Joeys where placed in the box at time of packaging/return.
Called dish, they stated we didn't return Joey, I told them I had received confirmation. I was told the Joey was not in there system, therefore, I owed. I told them how can I return something that was already returned and that I no longer have.
They did the same with me.. the tracking number shows it's with UPS but 3 months into it they still don't have.. charged me 250 for defective equipment. I called the office of president they removed the charge after they saw I did my job and dropped it at UPS. 2 weeks later a box from dishnetwork at my door and they are asking me to return the equipment I don't have. I made five calls and all reps see one thing.. I still have that equipment..
Dish has done the same to me...I sent photocopies of UPS shipping receipts and had UPS verify the equipment had been returned to Dish. This absurd cycle of nothingness occurred over and over with no hint from Dish accepting the obvious...just more bills. They charged my card after explicitly verbally and in writing plus emails telling them they were NOT authorized to use my card for any reason. They refuse to open channels provided by UPS to dialogue and finally UPS started a fraud investigation into their actions on my behalf. We'll see where that goes...I may be just one voice but when I'm blatantly poked in the eye by some Dish punk policy I will rise to a level of indignant righteousness the likes of wish DISH will not soon be able to dismiss. I got the time and I HATE liars so...is it on? maybe, could be...let's see.
the same thing happened to me and i sent them back. they charged me 0ver 467. dont mind paying my bill but they took out and wasnt told they could
unauthorized credit card charges
Spoke with a dish representative, I told him I only wanted to check out pricing and did not want to sign up with anything yet. He took my ssn and told me he was going to check my credit, he also said he needed my debit card number so that he can hold my place if I decided I wanted to go with them and told me nothing will be taken out of my account. After I got my quote I found out they took 50 dollars out of my bank account. I called them the next day and told them I did not authorize that. I was on the phone with them for an hour getting the run around, and given different phone numbers trying to track down where this all started from. Finally I was transferred to the guy who I talked to originally and he tried telling me that I was told about the 49.99 charge. He told me that if I decided not to go with the service then my money would be put back. So I told him I do not want the service and I want my money back. He transferred me to customer service and they told me my money would be back in my account in 2-3 business days. I found the entire thing completely shady and I do not want their service.
I have over $600.00 in charges I did not make with my credit card. I called my credit card company they told me to call Dish. Dish said there were more than two charges made and they could not do anything about it. My credit card says they cannot do anything about it. Neither one of them are addressing the problem so what next. Is Dish so disparate that they taken stolen money for customers who do not have their service? We need protection here. I am a senior on a fixed income that cannot afford to pay for something I did not buy. Shame on Dish.
collection letter and I do not have and never have had service through dish
Per csr I spoke to today at 400 pm on feb 24 2017 told me that the service was opened on april 2016 but like I told her why would I open a dish acct if I have xfinity for the past 7 yrs? The acct number on letter is [protected].
I need this situation fixed on dish side and they need to send a letter to the collection agency because it is messing with my credit! Like I told the csr this is clearly a fraud situation I dont know if they kept my information from when I inquired over 9 yrs ago and gave to someone else or for a former dish employee I dont know.
customer service: kevin
On February 14th 2017 I called Dish customer service and told them to cancel all free premiums I had on both of my Dish Accounts, Kevin who the customer service Advocate was assured me he had done that I come to find out I get Bill the very next month and I have been charged for all premiums what did the guy think I called in for if not to have something done this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen although they did take care of it with another customer service Advocate Kevin is the worst CSR I've ever seen
they are here to hook up in 13 hours after you order but when you need a tec they could care less
Call I don't have the channels I watch. Girl couldn't check cause it was prime time taping. So told me how to do it. She said if it comes up low single call so a Tec could come out tomorrow friday. Will I called and no one can come till Saturday. I won't b home and I want to watch my shows not what they want me to watch. Then they say we will give you $10.00 credit on your bill. What a joke. I want a Tec I want to watch my shows that I pay for the channels. Very dissatisfied I am. I feel like you got my money who care I don't have what I pay for.
took money out of account for cancelled install
Customers beware of pretty fliers in the mail offering you free gift cards. Listen to your gut instinct - if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! I called customer service to only get a quote and now I find my day ruined by worrying that I am overdrawing my checking account, because of a charge that DISH made. I called to get a quote and was told they would set up a "temporary reservation" for installation and they would give me a quote. Went through giving out my info, including social security number for a credit check. Had already a bad feeling - just felt like it was one sales tactic after another. They want you to so badly sign up for a 2 year contract and once you have - your account will be billed every month. I was told I could cancel the installation after talking with my husband. My husband came home for lunch and he agreed with me - we had better service and was cheaper to stick with current cable company. I immediately called 15-30 minutes after the original phone call to cancel the installation. They tried throwing more sales gimmicks at me by offering and extra $5 off monthly bill and $100 off first bill. They even offered to increase the free gift card to $150 from $100! Waived a processing fee of $49.95. They want you to feel like you are getting a fantastic deal. This is all taught in training their customer service. It's a scam. I WAS told their would be a $1.00 charge on my account that would be on hold and then be reversed. They NEVER explained I would be charged $157.50 installation fee and it would take 7 days to reverse the charge, if I cancel the order. So, 2 days after the cancellation, I see $157.50 has been charged to my checking account. This is a big hit to my checking and I had to move money out of a secondary savings to avoid checks bouncing! So upsetting. I called customer service and after talking to about 4 or more people they all tell me there was nothing they could do. I feel really bad for other customers out there, worse off than me, that can't move money around to avoid bouncing checks. $157.50 is a lot to be charged for nothing. The order was cancelled within 15-30 minutes of the original call. I received nothing. Nothing was installed and yet they charged my account $157.50! This is wrong and they refused to make it right. People at dish are thieves. I will not ever do business with them and will tell everyone I know the same.

contract term
I joined Dish Network in August, 2014 in response to a mailing. In August of 2015, I had to suspend my service because I was moving to a rental in which I could not continue the service. This required a monthly fee in order to avoid early cancellation charges. In October 2015 Dish sent me notice to return 3 of my devices, which I did. I resumed regular service in January 2016 when I purchased a new home. Since they required me to return several set-top boxes, I needed new ones in order to resume my service. Dish took this opportunity to put me on a new 2 year contract without my knowledge. I specifically paid a monthly suspension of account monthly fee to avoid changing my original contract. In July 2016 we had weather damage to our satellite dish, which required a technician. When he came out he suggested I try the new wireless setup box. I called Dish to order one. When ordering on online chat with a Dish rep, the list of agreements included adding a new 2 year contract. At that point, I told them no, and the customer support rep told me they would wave that for me because I “am a good customer.” On February 3, 2017 I called Dish to cancel my service. They told me I was still under contract. I was outraged. I asked to be escalated and was told they do not take calls. She said they had no record of the rep waving my additional 2 year contract for the wireless box and seemed not to understand that they made me send back my equipment in fall of 2015 so I would need new equipment when I resumed service.
This is complete fraud in my opinion. I was a good customer to Dish. I paid all my bills on time and I followed their rules. I paid a maintenance fee in order to keep my account active because I knew I was only temporarily displaced. Today I got a bill for $240 for an early cancellation. This is outrageous behavior on the part of Dish.
