jeep footwear
I purchased a Jeep boot on 17 August 2017 Edgars Canal Walk. I paid R899 for the item.
I am highly disappointed as the back of the boot is coming apart. For something I do not wear every day and paid so much money for it is not acceptable for the item to have lasted just over 2 months.
I never spoil myself with expensive shoes and to me the R900 boot was an investment. My R99 Mr Price shoe is still going strong yet this Brand let me down.
For Jeep being the brand that it is and Edgars being the store to get the top brands from, I am highly disappointed.

my customer account statement
I have noticed that when I miss a monthly payment I am immediately not credit worthy to continue using my card nor able to upgrade my cell c account (despite the fact I have had a cell c account for years before I have had an Edgars account). However, when I receive an mms (not always easy to open..) it gives me only up to 2016 details of my statement. It is now November 2017. I have been 'blindly' paying monthly to avoid these credit issues (and avoid blacklisting) and still have yet to receive a viable, accurate an updated version of my account. I have been online and downloaded my LATEST account statement which is July 2017. I believe in order to have a good customer relationship you cannot penalise a customer for not making payment when they don't even know they owe anything. According to my last online statement (July 2017)and my recent bank statements I should be in credit with Edgars...
It would really be considerate and ethical if you could please update my account and let me know what my financial standing at present is. I would kindly appreciate it.

am disappointed in the service and false representation
My name is Adelaide Kubeka ID no. [protected] and have been a client of Edgars for ore than 20years, and I have never been this disappointed in the service I receive from the edcon brand like I did today. I went to the Edgars store in Eastrand mall on the 03/11/2017 and was shopping when I went to the rack for "last of the best" which said 20% off...when I spotted a dress I wanted, when i went to the till to pay they said there is no discount then asked for the manager who also couldn't even care to pay attention to my situation as I have noticed in order to get the best service at this store I have to be white. Unfortunately for me am black and as a manager I expected him to do something to put me at ease but he refused to add the discount that was promised on the rack instead said it was maybe a customer that put it there, then I explained to him there were about 5 of the same dress on that rack. Than he just left me at the till and said he doesn't know what else to say to me, which is so devastating to me as a client of so many years. I need this incident to be rectified as soon as possible cause as a loyal customer to the edcon brand I bought the dress irrespective of the disrespectful and dishonesty from Edgars. Therefore please let me know what is going to happen cause it's not fair.
online purchase never received
On 20 June 2017 I have made an online purchase to the value of R349. I chose the option to collect at the Adderley Str branch however that never occurred. I haven't received any notification. I made contact with Edgars online and they contacted the store and they reported that the packaged was at the store and is now no longer. Edgars promised to refund my purchase. This never happened to this day! I even suggested that they refund the credit to my Edgars account which they said they could not.
I have been a satisfied customer of Edgars for 20 years!

voucher money gone
On September the 8th I bought a online voucher with my Multiply benefits. I went to Edgars Menlyn to spend the voucher and have the remaining funds put on a gift card. I spent R 1100 and the cashier could not manage to transfer the remaining R 400. The credit manager promised me that he would sort it out and gave me his cell nr. After numerous calls and excuses I am livid and am now convinced that my money has been stolen. Please contact me asap to provide you with the voucher details.
revlon compact powder
I purchased a Revlon compact powder on the 26th September 2017 at the chatsworth centre branch. Account number [protected]
a week later the inside of the powder cracked. I went back to the store to advise the lady at the counter and explained to her I haven't dropped it if I did the entire powder would have been cracked not on the middle of it

Till today no one has contacted me the powder is completely destroyed

For the past two weeks I have been contacting Edgars customer services to inform them there is a sms service added on my account. They wouldve call me within 48 hours after I phone in to sort the mess out that one of their trusted employee did who ever that person is. My account is paid up but someone added this sms thing and now I have to pay a monthly service and for the sms bundle on my account. The debit order already went off and when phoning in to the airtime call centre either you have to wait for half a hour to just be drop and you have to phone in again. Last week I phone in just be informed again that they logged the case and will contact me within 48 working hours and also refund me.

What is happening at jet kwamashu? Are all customers treated this way or are they judging me of the way I look. I asked for help this lady and he pointed at this guy saying he is the one who is going to help me. The guy came and they spoke about something else and he left. Its been 30 min now ive been standing and only wanted to query a about my account. She is in front of me serving other customers and doesn't care if ive been served. Poor services! No body came to me until I left the store

I bought a samsung cell phone with edgars connect victorian centre 3weeks ago cash, i wanted insurance aswel but their system was apparently offline and mind you when buyinh a phone cash it has to be insured same day. They lady Thembi Mokoena said she was going to call me back once they were online so i left the shop which was a saturday. On monday i went back to still get the phone insured and they still had the same problem they had on the saturday that i bought the phone, I was thwn told that they would call me back once the technician has cleared the "error" til today they havent bothered to call me back to get my phone insured, what must happen should that phone get lost, stolen or damaged, will thembi pay for it since she still hasnt bothered to call me back 3weeks later?

I bought a belt for my wife about 4 months ago at Edgars Knysna. The belt snapped for some other reason. I have never had any problems with the clothing. In yhe meanwhile someone broked into our car and stole my wallet. So i thought let me take the belt back as i bought it on my Edgars account. The manager was called but never came to see me. I left with the broken belt. THE SERVICE SUCKS AT KNYSNA EDGARS. Your manager is so useless he could not get of his chair to come and see me. I will close my account and never spend another send.
apparently the system changed my 6 month interest free acc into a 12 month acc
23/10/2017 14h50. I went to Edgars Mall of Africa to buy some goods and query why my account was now a 12 month account generating interest instead of the 6 month interest free account that I had initially opened. The lady helping me was Mapula confirmed that the system converts a 6 month account into a 12 month account if you don't qualify or meet the requirements. Was very strange as I have an excellent credit record. she then proceeded to phone an edgars call centre and let me speak to another lady by the name of Gugu Moyo - not sure if she gave me the right name. This person was not the most pleasant or helpful and gave me the same reasons and confirmed that nothing can be done. This must be some sort of fraud or breach of contract as I specifically would've not wanted an interest generating account. Will try to seek some legal counsel. Veru bad service from Edgars.

the staff does not know what customer service is, I went to the stores, several times but the condition is very poor. they make sure that they keep long queues only Edagrs and Jet stores at Mvusuludzo Mall, staff unfriendly and it seems like there is no manager. they do not care
the customer service at Mvusuludzo Mall is always closed, the staff at the cosmetic counter are worse, Edgars Lephalale they do not mark sale items at all. the white lady not friendly at all. the staff at Mvusuludzo Mall and thavhani mall will force you to take a gift voucher failing to explain the return rules they are expected to inform the customer, they said they do not give a cash refund even if you have a receipt and you have paid using a debit card. when you go to mall of the north or in Gauteng the staff explain everything clear, but Mvusuludzo Mall and thavhani mall the staff force you and insist that edgars stores only allows them to give a customer a gift voucher. Private security at thavhani mall, are they edgars staff to tick returns item by item at the door before you enter the store, why different from other stores, time consuming and irritating as the same thing the edgars staff is going to repeat by the counter

I am writing in conjunction with a pending complaint, of which reference number is [protected]/GO. Details of the full complaint can be checked via reference number. The complaint was against Managerial staff and the contracting security appointed inside the Edgars store, Liberty Promenade, Mitchells Plain Cape Town, South Africa.
Friday 13th October my mother, Mrs Jacobs entered Edgars and took her carrier bags reflecting another retail brand to be sealed off at security before she continued into the store. After a quick browse she left to check other stores before purchasing sale items which she sells off at a small stand in her community flea market.
Upon her return to Edgars after seeing all the Malls sale items, she was subjected to a bag search by the security who opened the SEALED carrier, initially sealed by one of his colleagues who was not present at the time. Unfortunately the receipt could not be produced at the time for the items found inside containing sale clothing from various retailers, including Edgars.
A long interrogation by the security to Mrs Jacobs ensued sans the failure to produce receipts. Accusation of theft by security and manager led to the breakdown in tears of Mrs Jacobs.
She was forced to take public transport (2 taxis to and fro at her own expense)to obtain receipts at home, while they kept her goods in their possession. I am utterly disgusted that my mother was treated as if she was a criminal and degraded by retail service provider staff.
I have verbally complaint at the store, sent an email on Facebook and contacted customer care the 18th October, .
I was assured on Wednesday that i would receive a call to advise the outcome of such complaint within 24 hours but i still have not received the awaited call as yet.
Following the ordeal my mother experienced from not only Edgars staff but security affiliated to them as well, i find the lack of empathy and interest to the experience extremely insulting.
As advised on Wednesday, the follow up call should be to me and not my mother.

Definition of Gift - something given to someone without payment, namely a present! I recently went in to an Edgars store to use a gift card, was told it was invalid, yet a few months before I decided to use the card I went to the Edgars store in the Vaal mall, Vandebijlpark, Gauteng and asked one of the staff members to check if and when it will expire. I was told it was far from expiry. Eventually I went back to the store, spoke to the manager and was told its not the employees fault but mine, due to me not asking the person who gave me the gift card as when it expires. The manager went further in to saying that the card is maybe not from their store and if I wanted to sue edgars then i must try. Ironically the definition of a gift would apply differently from Edgars point due to the fact that the person who purchased the card spent a whole lot of hard earned money for nothing.

Kindly assist I have visited edgars in gateway mall today. I have purchased a shoe and a [censored] boy jean this morning. I have been at the mall from around 9. I went back into edgars at around 3.30pm to look for dresses and tried on 3 dresses and another size of the exact same [censored] boy jean as I did not try on the jean that i have purchased in the morning. Somehow my error the two jeans got mixed up when I went to try on the jean so I hanged back the wrong jean which did not have a tag so when I walked out the shop the sensor beeped. I was called aside by the security and he went to check footage. I waited in there security room and I was absolutely offended by the way the store manager Rajesh and another lady which accompanied him treated me and addressed the situation. It was an unintentional error I am only human. This error of mine did not cause any loss to the company. Their footage clearly shows them that I have hung back all the items that I have tried including the jeans(which was the one I paid for) but I was still treated like a thief. I am not stupid to leave a huge tag on my garment and walk out I would obviously check or remove it if I was a thief.
Kindly address this matter with your staff as this is unacceptable behaviour for such a well known company this will definately cause a major loss of clients unfortunately undoubtedly you guys have lost yet another client due to your poor customer service. I will definately take this up as I do not appreciate the manner in which the situation was addressed once I get feedback from your store and fraud department.

we have been battling with Zodwa Manzini for over a year now to get a refund for my late grandmother we keep on sending her all the documentation and she takes two weeks to reply and then stops to reply at all
And when we phone we can never get through to her and to get replies from her as well
when we phone the call centre which is very helpful they say all the documentation is there and they can't understand why this is taking so long

I was over charged In January/February 2017. I have bee trying since then to have my overcharged account rectified. I have posted my complaint on Hello Peter on a daily basis in order to get feedback. Then I get emailed from Albert and Mohamed, who has no contact number and i am waiting 2 weeks for one of them to call me. I have been on hold for a total of more then 6 hours to your call centre [protected] trying to speak to a supervisor and still have not spoken to anyone! I am fed up! Edgars is ripping me off and avoiding me, but harassing me daily for payment, for money do not owe! When i tell the claims department they keep saying they will get someone to call me but no one calls other then the claims department to collect money! Your call center, accounts department and claims department are All useless!

I am disgusted with the level of service I have received from Edgars eastrand mall and I will never shop at Edgars again as you as a company inconvenience customers and my pocket.
I bought some clothes as Edgars eastrand mall and the power went out as soon as I paid. I got the sms as proof. I couldnt take the clothes and they promised my money would be returned.

we were soo disgusted with the service we recieved from one of your employees Nobuntu at edgars vangate mall in cape town. we went there to claim the gift voucher when my partner was apprtoched he was told that if he opens an account he will recieve 50% back for first purchase shortly after we went for shopping in vangate we were never given the gift voucher we went back and claim the voucher nobuntu assisted us with the cancelation of the policy the account was included with., here comes the part of us actually recieving the gift voucher i showed her the slip told us that we should bring the clothes back i told her how because im wearing the bra now told me i can take it off and the the remaining ones that i told her the socks my partner is wearing the hiding socks he ;bough told me he can take it off she needs to ring the items without a tag i asked she said yes i demand a sincere apology from this girl before i take this matter further theres no way we can be disrespected like that in front of other customers in the process of asking for a manager one of the ladies in the store assisted us very quick since we said we in a hurry. i did not expect this from edgars employees. please assist with this compalint.

I have had numerous calls over the years with all your call center agents, I have been in store to rectify the problem, and your guys problem is you are money greedy!
You want us to come into your stores and pay our account in person so the temptation is too much that we walk out with more low graded items. You are an incompetent group of humans and everyone warned me about your account and its become a reality. My credit rating is shocking due to your lack of assistance and false promises.
My problem is as follows.
You have called me on many occasions asking I pay my account. It was over a year ago and on and off since that I have spoken to so many consultants I cant keep up with now.
You need to debit my account monthly!
Is this so hard?
I have the worst credit rating now because I don't want to drive and come into your stores directly... I have asked you so many times to debit me monthly for the amount owing. Now I cant apply for home loans or credit from the bank. I earn a significant amount if money ona monthly basis and will not be charged with frauf and bad credit for r300, 00 only!
