I have been trying to get my complaint resolved through Edgars for almost 2 weeks now.
I would like to formally inform Edgars (keeping all my emails on record) that I will not make any payment until Edgars informs me as to why has my instalment increased from +-R250 to +-R475 per month.
Whereas, I never made any purchases using the account since last year. And yet my instalment has increased.
If Edgars wants me to continue making payments, then you must fix this discrepancy that is reflecting on my account asap so that I can start paying the CORRECT outstanding due balance for the current month.

Cancelling vip membership and account
I have phoned Edgars since beginning of September trying to cancel the VIP membership with no cancellation and sent an email on the 22 September 2020 to try and cancel again after numerous calls and no confirmation.
I would like to cancel my Edgars account due to poor service and no feedback. I am paying for something I am not using and was advised by an Edgars assistant that the account does not have a 6 months interest free option any more. I refuse to carry on paying for something I cancelled and I am receiving such poor service for.

I have requested a settlement amount from Edgars in the lockdown. I was (unknowingly) given a monthly payment amount, which I paid.
I have started requesting the settlement again in September.
I have now asked for that amount 5 times, but I am not receiving any feedback.
Currently, there is nothing on my account I am paying for that I have purchased. I am paying admin fees every month.
It feels to me like Edgars is trying to recover money, which they have mismanaged, and now they are stealing from me.
I have tried since June to close this account and I have to pay their admin fees every month.
I do not know who to contact anymore. The only number I am getting through on is 0800100101, and they send a request for a settlement every time, but I never receive it.
I have tried other numbers which are not being answered.
I receive monthly messages that my account is in arrears and needs to be paid but I now refuse to keep paying for a service I do not want.
I don't know what to do anymore and want to get Edgars out of my life! This company is probably going to try and blacklist me for R200 account fees...
Good luck! I am still trying to get my settlement amount to close my account. I have now paid the R210 to not be blacklisted for this rediculous amount.
STILL trying from lockdown to close this account. They give a head office number which is not being answered, and said I will not be able to close it in store, so what do I do?

It is unlawful for you to refuse to do so, I have been paying for some time the balance is not going down, hence I have resorted to request a full statement reflecting purchases made and the payments made. I want to settle my account and close it, because what you are doing is just not right. I spoke to Njabulo and Ms Makola and I have requested them long time ago to provide me with my full statement of account and at some point they requested my email address promising to send the statement through my email address, this did not happen. The statement that I received this morning just shows the amount due. That is not a full statement of account.

I was retrenched 31 july 2020, I immediately notified edgards and completed my claim form for hollard, hollard had allot of delays! To date edgars has been harassing me with calls daily! I informed many agents of this still they keep calling! I have sent emails to [protected]@collectioncentre.co.za and [protected]@edcon.co.za and [protected]@edcon.co.za. [protected]@collectioncentre I have sent and email every single day and cc'd hollard in so edgars can see there is a delay by hollard! Now I get an account that I need to pay collection fees! I wont do this! I called yesterday and held long so I left a message on the voice system when prompted, I also I also sent an email informing them hollard will make a payment this week and that I need them to confirm what was paid, whats outstanding and why and then also remove all collection fees! No one had any interest to assist! I am sick sick sick of this! Edgars shame on you! Its not like I am trying to steel from you! Why dont you rather try and help me!

I have been having exactly the same problem with EDCON. I am so sick and tired of this how many times do you have to email them the same thing over and over. I have a loan with RCS as well who are now linked and they have a policy for retrenchment as well and I didn't need to contact the insurance company RCS did it. The Hollard policy is part of EDCON so why do we need to apply for them to get the payment on the pocily they provide.

I went to Edgar store on the 1st September to purchase school shoes at Southgate mall, at about past 4 the cashier was Basetsana and I paid with fnb savings card as the till was opening processing the payment then there was loadshedding, of which no slip was printed then, therefore the cashier told me wait around the mall to wait for the electricity to come back, I did that, and in the meantime money was deducted from my account by Edgars, as the generators kick in I went back to the store it was 17:10and I was told it was their closing time and I should come back tomorrow together with my bank statement, I did that, but the guy (known as Nathi) who was handling my matter told me he was going to submit an enquiry regarding what has happened, and told me to make a bank statement so he can submit it to the head office as it hasn't reached them on their system, so I did submit the bank statement on the 7th September and he told me he'll submit the statement and he'll be in touch, I haven't heard from him and my query is thAt the bank statements clearly shows that Edgars deducted the money and what is it that he is still submitting as he said that as long the deduction reflects on the statement, then they will refund me, but now he's making up excuses.

Settlement letter
I paid my settlement amount at edgars and they said I will get my paid up letter in 21 days.
Its been almost three months I haven't received the letter.
Everything time I call they promise to assist without but I haven't received the letter.
I want that letter as I have to fix my credit report.
This is really frustrating every call is answered by different people who promise to help without any success.

Edgars not willing to change my surname
I got married in June this year and Home Affairs does not issue ID's during COVID. Edgars refuses to change my surname with only a marriage certificate. They demand a new ID. Pls wake up and smell the roses around you. Edgars are too rigid in their approach. You WILL lose me as a customer just because I want to do the right thing and don't allow me to.

I have been struggling for 2 years to get a CELL C product off my account.
Since the middle of last year (June 2019), I saw another 2 CELL C products added onto my account. This amounts to roughly R110 per month (excluding interest). How does EDGARS justify addition of products if the client has not approved it?
I can not close my account (already tried 4 times), until this subscriptions are cancelled. The help-desk consultants can not assist in this cancellation, you have to phone EDGARS?
I have paid over R2 000 for a product that I do not want and have not used at all. I have never owned a CELL C sim card in my life. So why would I ask for a CELL C subscription.
The help-desk consultants would assist me in phoning EDGARS, I will then speak to a consultant over the phone, and then the popular responses of: "system is offline", "You are contacting the wrong center", "I can not assist", and so the list goes on of useless excuses.
So how long will this take to get resolved?

Your debt recovery debt has been constantly calling my sons cell no to recover debt from somebody else. He isn17yrs old and cannot get credit. We have repeatedly informed you this is not his account and to remove his number from your system and still you call and sms him. If this continues I will report raise a criminal case for harassing a minor. Please remove the cell number of +[protected] from your system as it does not belong to the Neethling lady you are looking for. This is the last chamce to stop this or I will report you for harassing a child

I have paid my monthly payment on the 31st of July - R300. To my surprise i kept on receiving SMS's that I need to pay. I received another SMS saying my account is in arrears now. Which is very disappointing as I paid on time.
I decided to call - No answer. I sent an email and was advised to send a proof of payment on which I did. I kept on receiving mails that they cannot trace payment they are only seeing June payment. I later received an email from Mirriam Mazibuko saying she traced payment and has escalated matter to remittance department.
To my surprise I received another SMS that I have to pay. I then received another email that they received a payment for June 27th not July and that theres a payment due in September of R586.65.
I have sent a proof of payment. Why must I be penalized for Edcon staff incompetency and not doing their job efficiently ? Proof of payment is generated on an FNB app, How come a payment is not traced ? Who gives them a right to put me in arrears when I have paid ?
I WANT ANSWERS ASAP.

Fraud activity, have not received account closure letter
I recently had someone purchase fraudulently of my edgar's account to the value of r9000. My information such as my contact number and email address has also been changed. Once my fraud dispute was resolved, I immediately went into the store and demanded that my account be closed with immediate effect. They advised that my account is now 0 balance and has been closed. I requested for a letter confirming that my account is closed and settled in full. I have not received this. When I call the contact centre to request it they can not verify me because of the changed cell phone number and email address which I did not authorize. I was told to call the fraud department. The fraud department asks me why I am calling them because they do not deal with account closure letters, to call the accounts desk. I explained to them that the accounts told me to call the fraud department and they can not verify me because my cell phone number and email address was changed. They they gave me an email address to request the information. I have received the same response, they need to verify me. I am so tired and frustrated with edgar's, how difficult can it be to send one letter? I seriously think edgards enjoys making their customers life's difficult. Stop pushing me from pillar to post and just help with my request. Please also do something about your security systems to ensure innocent, hardworking good customers are not faced with this unnecessary stress. Your customers trust you with their personal information, the least you can do it protect it.
Edgars online shopping
I placed an online order on 13/5/2020 with Edgars online shopping. My order number is [protected]. I am still waiting for this order as it was placed over a month ago. In the past month I have received 2 emails from them apologizing for the delay due to corona virus and staff shortages. They have also send me a R100 gift voucher for the delay. I am very worried about my order as I can not get hold of them by their contact numbers.

Im very, very frustrated. I opened an account with Edgar's in March, with a balance of R6400. 78. Since then I have paid R2200, I just paid R800 today but I'm being told my balance is still R5789. I have been told I have financial things I have open that I wasn't aware of.
I canceled a debit order in store, I was told today that it's not canceled and that's why my balance keeps bouncing off, that's not my fault. I need this escalated to the most highest of authorities or I'm taking this higher!
Online order not delivered
To whom it may concern,
I placed an order [protected] for delivery 8th May 2020 for a friends birthday gift and to date this has not been delivered. This kind service is appalling to say the least as the item clearly stated it would be delivered under level 4 lockdown.
I have called your call centre on numerous occasions to track the parcel and no one has a valid response. Fast n Furious Couriers states they have not received anything from Edgars. I need this rectified urgently.

Not even wore the jean 4 times.
It has torn on the back of the jean, next to the pocket.

Lack of response on an online purchase qu
I placed an order just past 4pm on Sunday 3 May for R4042.84 using my email address (see payment ref). It included a king size duvet, two sets of Calvin Klein underpants, a mattress cover, a pair of joggers (Nike) and men's PJ pants.
There was a reference number at the close of the purchase but I assumed it would be mailed and it wasn't so didn't write it down. Also if I log in to Edgars now, there is no order reflecting.
I am honestly shocked by the lack of engagement and response from Edgars, despite the commitment to a 48 hour turnaround. I have made numerous attempts to engage via multiple channels (emails, the online comms channel and the customer service number), with no response for 18 days.

I bought a black opal foundation oline, the after my purchase, I was advised that they will no longer deliver but only after lockdown, I then requested a refund and cancell the order but no one responded, I then went to hellopeter to review then I got an empty respond with no movement till today I still dont have any responce from edcon/edgars, then later, I received an email from [protected]@edcon.co.za and [protected]@edcon.co.za, still no respond even after sending my bank statement for the refund, I am very dissapointed with edcon/edgars, my order number is [protected]... Im very frustrated that I returned a phone due to software but was told I had to pay r 1700 for a r 2000 phone, was given the phone after 10 weeks without being fixed, took my phone to pk cellular in westgate and they told me they just need to update software and I paid r 200. EDGARS AND JET COMPLAINT
I am a very frustrated customer I phoned Edgars to settle my account on the 29 September they told that I must pay and they will cancel on their side to my surprise they still send me messages that I still have outstanding amount. On the 30th spoke to Samkelisiwe Bengu told me that she will escalate my query to the manager nothing happened, send emails several times no reply. Now they tell me I am still owing them. I phoned several times with no help. Phoned again spoke to Eulela Wantchu who said the manager is not in on the 9 november at about 08:30 and put me off when I was talking to her. Then I was transferred to the other one her name is Mbali who said her surname is the only Mbali in the department, she also said she will escalate the query to the manager.
The problem is Edgars and Jet are playing with people’s feelings. The fact that they are migrating their system has nothing to do with the customer. I said I don’t want jet club and travel insurance anymore I went to JET on the 30th sep TRACY from JET Tembisa (TEMBI MALL) Said they will cancel it cause I paid now. Can you please cancel this account I don’t need it anymore and the customer service is poor. I’m going to OMBUDSMAN about this matter.
