Dear complaints,
I went to the Centurion mall MAC cosmetic department on Sat 9th November. I explained to the make up artist that I am not familiar with makeup and have been using cheap one and needed something of quality.
She did try the make up foundation on me and suggested I buy the foundation and powder. I am totally not happy with the colour she recommended. It makes me look darker. I read your return policy and noted that you do not refund or exchange make up however I think it is unfair to have been sold something so expensive and not happy with it.
The reason I am not going to the shop directly is because I have once experienced a client shouting with the store manager because of unfair sale. I do not want to cause scene in front of people.
I am requesting my money back so I can go buy makeup suitable for my skin tone. Your response in this matter will be highly appreciated.
airtime and sms deal
I've been paying for airtime and smses I never signed up for since March 2019. I queried after finding out. I've got an sms today to say that my refund request has been declined because I agreed to receiving the airtime. Edgars has a recording of me. I know nothing about that recording that was not me agreeing to this deal and I never received any airtime. My network should be able to prove this. I won't rest until I get all my money back. I repeat I never agreed to this deal. Can you please treat this matter as urgent.

Last week saterday 26 October went to Edgars Vaal Mall cosmetics section i wanted to buy "Fitme by Maybelle" foundation and powder. The attitude i got from the consultant who didn't have name tag was not good at all. She said that she doesn't know my skin type and there are no tester, she went on saying if she opens a product will i buy that.
So ask the other consultant if there are any product that i could buy, and she said Revlon i went over that side and i waited for for assistance and no one came.
Then i went to the manager. (Clara)who told me that she spoke with Maybelle people and they will call me on Monday 28 October and they apologies on behalf of the consultants.
I haven't received any call. I have been a good customer for edgars for more than 5 years, i dont deserve the treatment i got from the store.
thierry mugler - angel eau de parfum
I bought Angel this past weekend (the refill eau de parfum). I am a regular Angel user and this does not smell anything like Angel nor does the smell last long. I put it on this morning @ 9h00 it is 11h20 now and there is absolutely no smell. I specifically bought the eau de parfum and not the eau de toilette.
I want to return this as I paid R1, 800 for a refilled bottle which there is no smell off.
Please advise how should I go about. I would rather take the real mackoy and no refill from now on!
gift card purchased
I purchased a gift card voucher at the Edgards store in Mall of Africa, Midrand, on the 29th of March 2019, intending to take a trip to Durban on the same date. When my trip got cancelled, I was unable to get the gift card delivered. I then called customer care to find out what to do since the person whom the gift card voucher is intended for is in Durban. The lady that assisted me told me to send that person the gift card number and they'll be able to retrieve it at any Edgars store in Durban with this gift card number.
I did as I was told by your customer care. Once the person received the gift card number, they made the time to get to an Edgards store in west street, Durban. The staff at the store refused to assist her, she was told that I must send an email that stipulates that she's going fetch the voucher, via Edgars. This was a trip wasted because I did call your customer care before arranging with the recipient of the voucher, and this was completely unnecessary and could've been avoided had I been given the right information the first time around.
I called customer care again to inform them of the incident in west street, Durban, and the person that assisted me told me that I should go to the nearest Edgards store and I will be assisted with the gift card voucher for the recipient to receive, all I will need is to inform them of the Edgars in Durban where my recipient will receive the voucher. Again, I arranged with the person whom the gift card voucher is intended for and we both agreed again that we will make time to visit the store so that the voucher will finally be received.
Month end of September 2019, I visited the Edgars store in Vaal mall, Vanderbijlpark, and told one of the staff at the till about the gift card voucher and that the person receiving the voucher is in Durban, and that I was informed by customer care to come to the store and have it arranged. The lady at Edgars refused to assist me, I was even told to go to Durban and deliver it myself. I told the lady that I no longer have the slip as I bought this voucher back in March, and have been encountering problems regarding it eversince. She then took me to the customer care side but there was no one to assist me even there, as they had gone to lunch. I asked when I should come back for assistance but I was told that they don't know when the people on lunch are coming back and no one will help me either way, and I should take the voucher to Durban myself or rather spend it or just go back to Mall of Africa. Again, this was a trip wasted. Should I get my money back or will I ever be assisted?
I feel disappointed for being given the run around on a voucher which I bought with my money, the contradictory information I kept on receiving from your customer care, and the treatment that I had to endure from your Edgars staff. I feel that this is unnacceptable and inexcusable. The voucher has still not been used. What do I do now?

On the 23 September 2019, I have made arrangements to pay monthly installments and I have made it clear for edgars not to call me, but it seems like the people that are working in your company does not understand simple English and I have also asked for your'll not to call on my company work phone as I have a cellphone, yesterday when I got another call from Edgars I told this lady I have made arrangments and to stop calling me but it seems like she is so dumb that she doesnt understand english because I received another call today again on my company phone, if this is not going to stop the I will take further legal action against the company.
I further state as part of the consumer protection act once the client has made an arrangement then no call or sms should be sent as this will be a form of harassment, so if this matter is not delt with by close of business today then I will be forced to take further legal action.

hi, was trying to get hold of customer care this morning couldnt get through they ask for my id number o account number or passport number and then i enter my id number they said its not valid so im really not sure what else i must do, i just need a paid up letter from you to prove that im not owing you anymore, please assist cause i really dont know what i must do now

I applied online 2 weeks ago and on the 19th they foned me that they didnt receive my documents and i ask for their email address and send it..nca@edcon.ca.za and called them minutes later and the told me it took 48 working hours to complete my application.. and today when i went to edgars ative to find out whats taking so long i was shocked to find out that my application was decline and said due to my documents not received they decline my application and now i must wait 3 months... im upset because its not my fault.. and why didnt they called me to told me that they didnt received my documents?

I opened an account and I wasn't happy with their terms of the account and they tried forcing me to activate the account with a certain amount and it was too much. I disagreed, I told them I no longer want the account. I spoke with someone from customer service on the phone and she told me the account is successfully closed. But to my surprise I was sent a statement, statement for what? I never used the account. I went to jet mart to check if the card works but I was told the card is no longer working. Edgars keeps on sending me statements yet the account is closed. If the account is active from your side please close it ASAP. My number is [protected].
refund still due for eft purchase
I made purchases to the value of above R5098.50 on the morning (before 10:00) of Thursday 19 September at the Cresta store. I paid with my debit card and the transaction went through on my FNB bank account; however, they realised the vouchers I bought had no money loaded which meant the funds didn't hit the Edcon account as the system went offline whilst the vouchers were being printed and there was no receipt. I needed the goods, so I paid again, although this time the payments went through (with a discount of R150). I was told that a reversal will be processed and I should see it reflect overnight. However, today is Saturday and the status of the refund query is that it is still under investigation and with the IT department! It seems Edgars do not care about their customers and sorting out queries quickly. They're relaxed because they have their money (twice actually!) but I'm out of pocket and extremely unhappy as there seems to be no end in sight to my query, no SLA with a customer and no refund... Please sort out my refund immediately as I do not consider this fair customer treatment. Various people I've been dealing with at Edgars Cresta are: Pollen, Zanele and Sifiso. References I've been given: **********/90, and **********3. The ref number of this EFT purchase for which I require the reversal/refund is ED**********.
online delivery
I placed an order over the weekend on Sunday 15 September for a product to be delivered, it said 2 - 5 working days which is understandable. On Tuesday 17 September I got a notification saying that the item had been packed and was out for delivery and would be delivered by 5pm that day...nothing arrived.
Next day I phoned Edgars and they had no explanation but said it would be escalated and they would be keep me updated via the cell number on the order, but nothing was delivered that day on Wednesday 18 September and no update was given.
Called again on Thursday 19 September and was told that the building and company name wasn't provided, even though it was and I also made sure it was included in the additional delivery notes just in case, but that they would try to push the delivery for either today (Thursday) or the next day.
Instead of calling me and finding out what the building name and company was the order just gets ignored and remains undelivered. It is completely pathetic service and is an indication of a lack of intelligence of the people employed in these departments, and a lack of effective management if the customer has to constantly follow up on these issues.

I have a couple of complaints about the branch mentioned above, today(18/09/2019) I went into your store in Attlyn and I was poorly treated as a customer I went in to purchase a ticket for tonight's soccer match and I was waiting to be assisted but I ended being assisted 30 minutes later, mind you when I came into your store I was the only person waiting in line. As your cashier called me to proceed to her, I had informed her that I want 3 tickets but she told me she cannot operate the ticket machine and then she(cashier) said that she will call someone who can and she went on to assist another customer with her own complaint, the cashier called her manager Rose(who has the worst customer compliance ever) she went past me to help the other customer and didn't even notice me standing by the POS counter assisted the other customer and ignored me again went on to help other queing customer and then the same cashier told Rose that, I need a ticket, rudely she assumed I was traveling with the other customer and I replied to her saying that I have been waiting here for almost an hour then she didn't even apologize and she called another cashier to assist me. This new cahier assisting me her name is Rachel, Rachel wanted to argue with the fact that she asked who wanted a ticket, no customers repiled but she did not even ask me, and I told her that you were passed me 3 times without wondering if I have been assisted already. Now, after all these conversations with your rude staff Rachel even sold me a wrong ticket I realized that when I got home, I even had to go back and get a refund from your store. I urge you to please do something about it because this is really unacceptable.
my account has been blocked, i've sent 2 emails and called twice asking for an unblock with no reply

I called Charmaine yesterday as to why my account is blocked although I've paid the balance and in .03c surplus. During 2018+2019 I've been unemployed for 10 months to which their should be notes on the system and I've could only manage a R100 payment as I didn't get a monthly salary. I have communicated this to Edgars and I'm not sure why the account has been blocked. Also no Edgars employee communicated the account would be blocked and I would have to reapply for a new account.
I've been a customer for 15 years as you can see so I will not be applying for a new account. Let me know due to my circumstances and having communicated being unemployed to Edgars my account will be unblocked please?

My account was handed over to SSDA for collection. I received a settlement offer, made an arrangement to settle the account in June 2019, which was successfully debited. I was then told to wait for 41 working days to receive a paid up letter which I am still awaiting. This has a huge impact on my credit report as the account reflects negatively. Nothing was updated on the system and when I called the law firm I was told that they have IT issues together with Edgars and the matter will be resolved. 57 days later I'm still waiting for a simple paid up letter, they are very quick to call and send threats but when honored they treat you like a nobody.
misappropriation of financial information; non-response to paia application
Dear Sir/Madam,
In 2018 it was brought to my attention that a report into my credit profile was requested from and generated by a company called XDS. This report was found in possession of a third party. When I queried this with the company involved, I received the following feedback:
"The is no report for the 31st May 2018, the only report that was viewed was on the 13th May 2018 done by edcon.
This was a Trace Report done by Edcon on the 31st May 2018."
I have since submitted a PAIA application to ascertain why Edcon requested a trace report, who specifically requested it, and how it came into the possession of a third party. The request has twice been forwarded to your Information Officer at cvikisi@edcon.co.za, but I have received no feedback or even confirmation of receipt.
I would now formally like to submit a formal request for feedback in this serious matter. I do not want to escalate this to my attorney, but I need and deserve an urgent explanation.

I recently bought a 2 pack kangol bra. I have never wore a more uncomfortable bra. I am so upset. Is there any steps I can take to contact kangol? I would like to report this matter. I have been having headache from the first day that I wore them and I thought that it would get better, but it didn't. I am not happy about this. Kangol is supposed to be a good brand and this is not what I received when I purchased this bra. I don't think that I would ever purchase another kangol Bra.

I have been an Edgars Account holder for about 7 years now.
I usually receive an sms informing me of my instalment and due date, but never really check my statement because the only thing I currently have is cellphone insurance.
Saturday I decided to download my statement and it turns out I have 2 deductions going off, 1 for R78 and another for R49.
I called the customer care and I was told in April I received a call and I authorised it for these transactions.
Now dating back I recall receiving a call however they said "FOR BEING A LOYAL EDGARS CUSTOMER, WE WOULD LIKE TO REWARS YOU WITH DATA, CAN WE SEND YOU DATA". No one said anything about a contract and money going off on my account. This is misleading and fraudulent of the company to lure clients into contracts under false pretences.
I am not impressed and will be canceling my Edgars account. I am still waiting for assistance and my money back.

I purchased a kangol twin bra, it is the most uncomfortable bra ever. I did purchase this brand before and loved it, for some reason the fit on this is so scratchy and pokey at the sides and top at the band. It says it's a push up, it's far from that as it makes my boobs flat. I would appreciate if someone could get back to me with a solution, can this be sent back to the supplier?
