EliteSingles Review: A Scam Site Filled with Fake Profiles and Limited Functionality
I tried EliteSingles a few years ago when it was still a new site. At first, I was skeptical of the site's activity. I noticed that the site didn't have enough traffic to attract people from other sites and be competitive. So, I suspected that they hired shills from East Asian countries like the Philippines to fill their database with fake profiles from all over the US.
It was very obvious that these profiles were fake, and none of them contacted me or even tried to start a conversation. I filed a chargeback and checked their Better Business Bureau records. I found out that they were paying Google to keep their website in the top 10, which really annoyed me. It's frustrating to see a scam site at the top of the search results.
There are very few dating sites that I can recommend, but there are some that are populated with actual people. EliteSingles' personality models are made with the same simple algorithm that doesn't work, no matter how many questions you answer. People on this site are just too lazy to go out and meet someone in real life.
It's interesting to note that the top 5 personal sites are all owned by the same company, including EliteSingles. This is the reason why they can afford to pour all of this money into it. These websites are in business to stay in business, and getting you hooked up with an actual prospective mate is not even their #1 priority. The only thing they are trying to do is give you hope that their algorithm and their website will give you the edge over real life, when in many situations, it's actually the opposite.
If they can keep you on the site for years at a time, they make even more money. The only thing they are actually interested in is how many of these websites can the market support nationally! That's why the first 5 sites are all owned by them, possibly more. By owning as many as they can in the actual market, they are aware of how saturated the market is and how many it can actually support.
One thing I really dislike about EliteSingles is that the algorithm is very limited in scope and doesn't let you do even simple keyword searches. Unlike almost every other competitor's site, this one will not let you try anything for free. You will not get any functionality of your profile for the hours worth of work you put into it answering the dumb questions. Your profile will not do anything until you pay the money. No test ride, just throw your money down a hole and face odds more daunting than if you went to the corner bar and hit on a girl. It's that bad, not to mention riddled with scammers, often times as many as genuine ads, but they leave the scammers in because they fill out the numbers.
These guys regularly scour and scrub comments against their website off the net because they don't want people to see them and understand that they are completely worthless, completely meaningless personal website. But one thing they can't hide is the history of complaints that the Better Business Bureau has on them. Even though they have dealt with almost all of them, you'll be able to see the history of what makes this the worst personal website ever. There are pictures and screen shots I have going back before I met my wife. They can do something, but they won't.
EliteSingles Review: A Complete Waste of Time and Money
I recently tried out EliteSingles and I have to say, I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I wouldn't recommend paying a single cent to these people. The supposed algorithm they use to match you with other members is a complete joke. There are two ways they match you: "Matches" and "Have you met...".
The "Matches" feature is a list of profiles that the algorithm thinks are suitable for you, but in reality, you just get matched with random people whose profiles have nothing in common with yours. Most of the "Matches" don't even have a profile picture and contain very little information. I suspect that the daily "Matches" are just new profiles made by people who haven't paid to join, so you won't be able to communicate with them anyway because you have to pay to use all the messaging features.
I recently sent a complaint to EliteSingles about the quality of my matches, but I haven't heard back from them yet. I can't even find a phone number to call, so I'm stuck writing emails. Here's a rundown of the most recent 20 profiles listed under "Matches":
- Andrew: 19 words, photo included
- Ed: 14 words, photo included
- Will: 0 words, photo included
- Erick: 13 words, photo included
- Hugh: ~120 words, photo included
- Ty: 6 words, no photo
- Marcus: 11 words, no photo
- Kyle: 26 words, no photo
- Ron: 70 words, no photo
- Chris: 8 words, no photo
- Chef dad: 34 words, no photo
- Rick: 12 words, no photo
- PM: 9 words, no photo
- John: 18 words, no photo
- James: 14 words, no photo
- David: 0 words, no photo
- Bruce: 22 words, photo included
- David: 32 words, no photo
- CaliBeaches: 14 words, no photo
- Igor: 13 words, no photo
How can EliteSingles claim to perform a "personality" overview on profiles containing so few words? And why did they match me with David, who has zero words in his profile and zero photos? It's a complete waste of time. I suspect that the incomplete profiles are written by people who aren't paying members of the website and can't view or respond to any contact I make with them. What's the point of offering these profiles to me? They're dead-end profiles and might as well be fake.
To make matters worse, EliteSingles even suggested a woman as a match for me, even though I selected that I was a woman interested in men. It's such a novice error that it's laughable. The very first information you supply when you start your profile is what your male/female preference is. I wouldn't recommend this website to anyone. It's a complete waste of time and money.
Disappointing Experience with EliteSingles: High Cost, Low Quality Matches, and Limited Features
I recently signed up for EliteSingles, and I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience. While the registration process was fairly straightforward, it took me several hours to complete the personality test and fill out my user profile. And after all that, I was pretty frustrated to find out that I couldn't even view the faces of other members without purchasing a premium membership.
I received a ton of emails from the site right after I signed up, with subjects like "Meet your matches!" and "Your profile has been visited - curious?" Naturally, I was curious to see who was interested in me, but the cheapest premium membership option was $69.95 for just one month. That seemed pretty steep to me, especially since I didn't know anything about the site yet.
I decided to email customer care and complain about the high cost of the premium membership. To my surprise, they offered me a free 3-day trial. I spent a lot of time on the site during those three days, filling out my profile as much as possible and sending out messages and likes to anyone I could find within 300 miles of my location.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a single reply to any of my messages, despite the fact that my profile had been viewed many times and I had been matched with over a hundred other women. And I noticed some other major problems with the site as well.
First of all, you can only see the name of the city that another member lives in, not the state. So unless the person lives in a big city, it's hard to know how close they are to you. And more than half of the members I was matched with didn't even have a photo in their profile. Plus, most of the members had filled out very little information about themselves, so it was hard to get a sense of their personality.
And to be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with the quality of the matches I received. Most of the women I was matched with weren't very attractive, and very few of them seemed particularly "elite" (which is what the site claims to be all about).
One final annoyance: the site would send me emails claiming that I had new messages, but when I checked, it turned out that my "message" was just an alert that one of my matches had uploaded a new photo. Talk about a letdown!
Overall, I wouldn't recommend EliteSingles to anyone looking for a high-quality dating site. The cost of the premium membership is too high, and the quality of the matches and the site's features just aren't worth it.

Scam
Elite singles purports to have educated, upscale singles. Nothing could be further from the truth! I have set my match criteria to limit matches no further than 50 miles away and it constantly send me matches 2 states away. Customer service is non existent and the vast majority of profiles have no photos and many of my matches have a high school education. I have contacted customer service twice and have yet to hear from them. I want a refund of my 3 mo. membership (which is the shortest time you can sign up for).
Desired outcome: Refund
Request to cancel and seek a refund during cooling off
I joined Elite singles as a subscription on the 1st of January. I was having problems with the app and accessing the matches I was sent and then realised that they had charged me a full $329.70 for a subscription which showed a monthly charge at time of signing up. I was not prepared or in a position to pay this amount and after using the site and comparing to other companies was not satisfied and emailed to request a cancellation and refund. They have emailed back stating that as I used the messaging I was not entitled to the cooling of period even though it was within 2 days. I have again emailed with my details stating my consumer rights to enacting the filling off as without using the service I would not have known that I was not happy with the service and prepared to pay the fee. This is the complaint ticket number I received and the account is under Michele Baker [protected]
Desired outcome: Full refund of $329.70 to the credit card provided
Auto renewal not authorised by me
You have taken money out of my account which I didn't authorise. I specifically made sure that I cancelled the auto renewal on my elite singles account. When I went into my account I could clearly see that the auto renewal had been cancelled yet you have taken the money out of my account.
I want a full refund and for you to delete my account completely
Desired outcome: full refund
phishing
Hello there. Just to report a phishing attempt by one of my matches. I see he is now off Elite Singles, at least by the name of Jimmy Oliver. We chatted, got offline, and yesterday he requested I help him out financially, after saying how well off he is. He says he was from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, with a phone number of [protected]. Another name he gave me is Jimmy Andris Orban, and his company is supposedly jaointernational.com. I've included two photos from his profile.
Desired outcome: To protect other users.
I cancelled and then 2 hours later they renew my subscription
Hi, please help. I signed up to Elite singles for a month only. I hardly have much money and they are so expensive but I've been pretty much on my own for 20 years with a few partners, nothing serious. I'd had enough so I decided to unsubscribe, I was aware that the money would be taken automatically but that was it.
Coincidentally, I signed in on the last day of the month that I'd purchased so I canceled immediately. I received an email to confirm this and didn't think anything of it. About two hours later, I had another email to say my subscription had been renewed. What the **** I was thinking because I canceled it. I really can't afford nearly £100 coming out of my account, wish is why I did a month only! I phoned my credit card company asking if they could stop the payment, but apparently not as it was on pending.
I have sent Elite an email to say I wanted my money back as I canceled it and have an email from them to prove this. The reply was that I have to give them at least 7 days notice to cancel. I just don't remember seeing anything about this, nor did they send me an email to say did I still want to continue. In fact one of the reasons to leave was that I wasn't even getting notifications from people, only when I logged on did I see messages for me and it was sent up for push notifications. I double-checked! They also suggested I could transfer my next month to a friend or family member if I just sent them their email address, how dodgy is that. Can you help please? Thanks
Desired outcome: My money back please

Membership cancellation
April 4, 2022 — 10:20 PM
I joined this site and immediately decided to cancel it. I went to "My Account/Membership and first cancelled the Automatic Renewal. I then continued to cancel the membership to no avail. I have sent several emails requesting my membership to be cancelled and have not received a response to any of them. On April 5, 2022, I called the Customer Care telephone number and was put on hold for 30 minutes and was disconnected. I then called back again and was put on hold for 60 minutes. Tired of waiting, I hung up. I then called back and received the following message:"The office is closed now due to unforeseen circumstances!"
Desired outcome: I would like this membership cancelled and a full refund to my credit card. Thank you!
Elite singles!
charged for 6 months without my permission. Face distorted and upside down. No matches but the exact same even when I tried to change information it would revert back or delete my responses IF they deducted it from my account then they have no business deleting anything that is not nudity, profanity or sexual context of any kind in nature. I am a professional and have no desire to sell myself or be treated like an escort service. You dont censor or review how I wrote something in the first 5 minutes! I want the money back you deleted from my account and no one better know where I live. Also, they really need to know that I deleted history twice today as I had dozens of odd mail that had to only have been generated by someone selling my name. I am a disabled veteran and you committed FRAUD for the sake of a buck. You are not a legitimate site or their would have been some kind of rotation when I changed my location, preferences and I only answered 3 questions, how could you possibly match me with 52 men but no messages at all! So since I just moved to this new location is the only reason I thought a dating site might help. I know I am attractive, active, interesting and unless every single man on your site is only after a promiscuous relationship...then you are not offering matches you are not even a dating service you are matching for hook ups by computer generating, 2-3 answers for any new person who hits the site. Fraud. No matter, you flashed me with the cancellation then did not allow me to hit the button and have been pending this or that so you need to return my money to my account then forget you ever met me and stop selling my name and information or I will critique you in every location I can find as a Top reviewer and guide. From the military sites to my uber driver I will make not of your trashy site.
Desired outcome: You need to return my money, forget you ever met me, stop selling my name/information or I will critique you in every location I can find as a Top reviewer! From military sites to my uber driver I will make knownyour trashy site.

Customer service - declined to provide company complaint procedure, refund and the right to speak to their manager
I am writing to you to complain about the costumer service provided by Elite Singles. Six months ago I have made an online account and paid to become a member. After six months, the subscription is renewed automatically without an email to remind you of it.
Contacted costumer service, explained that I do not want to renew my subscription and asked for a refund.
The lady that is handling my complaint is declining to give me a refund, declines to provide the details of her manager so I can explain the situation, nor does she provide the company complain procedure, saying that I do not have any right for a refund. Tried to explain that this is unfair and I have a right to choose if I want to keep using the service or not. Again, she does not listen and forces me in this lose/ lose situation that is unfair and abusive.
Desired outcome: I want a refund and my account closed.
Another member has caused my account to be cancelled. I can't get into my account!
today I had received an e mail stating "Kelly is interested in your profile"
my name is stephen kocher
my user name is logged in under my e mail address [protected]@aol.com
Ms. Jessing, (Kelly) and I had been chatting via cell phone for about 4 weeks now. she seemed very nice. She proposed that we meet during her birthday stay in Springfield where she had planned to stay for two nights in a hotel.
we agreed to meet after check in 3:30 Friday Nov. at her hotel. upon meeting with her she didn't look Anything like the photo on her elite singles profile, didn't have the money to book her hotel room, and insisted I pay for her room. I reluctantly agreed because it was her birthday. I paid her 180.00 for her two night stay. Then she immediately demanded I take her to dinner. I suspected the entire set up was a scam to fraud me out of money, so I told her I was sorry and left the hotel. I was upset and blocked her from texting or calling my cell phone. I returned to my home and decided to never trust another elite singles, or any date site person again,... done,... Period.
Earlier today I received an e mail titled "Kelly is very interested in your profile." after clicking on the e mail I was directed to a blank page with the small word "None" on the upper left hand side of the otherwise blank page.
After several attempts to get into your site,... My profile, I only get to a blank page with "none" upper left corner.
Q's Has Ms. Jessip done something to my account?
Is your site down for some reason?
can you please respond to help with this situation?
If your site has allowed her to access my account, (profile page), can I assume that my membership will be terminated and no future billing will occur?
Please help me understand this event. at this point I can only assume that she was angry at me for me not allowing her to take further financial advantage of me, and has retaliated in some way via your site,... my profile.
I am Extremely concerned about sensitive private materials she may gain access to! I had sent her her "adult" 3 photos of myself that she had requested during the weeks leading up to Nov. 12 event at hotel. these images were sent to her personal cell phone at her request. At her request and for her personal viewing only! I did not authorize Any publication of these extremely personal and sensitive images. I have her text messages supporting this statement of truth.
Please e mail response to: [protected]@aol.com
sincerely concerned,
stephen kocher
Desired outcome: all membership fees to stop immediately, membership cancelled!
unethical behaviour
I was sent too many older than my range of age prospects and also LGBT which I don't discriminate as friends, but no way to be partners with my loving companion. And my inclinations are well defined in my profile. MAN SEARCHING FOR A WOMAN...Thanks
don't know why this complaint can't go through but I took a picture of it and if it's not taken by your "costumer Service" I will disseminate it on every website I visit for big fraud, I hope I don't get charged again for this fake, non working service that you "provide"...
Subscription
On Monday I have subscribed to EliteSingles.com via Google Play for membership and even though the payment was going through I was not activated as a member and as a paying member I have no access to any EliteSingles.com services. I immediately reported the matter to EliteSingles.com and also requested an immediate full refund from GooglePlay. On Tuesday EliteSingles.com claimed that they haven't received any payment from me asking for proof of payment. Google Play stated that they cannot refund me, because it doesn't comply with their refund policy. I have responded to EliteSingles.com by sending the proof of subscription via Google Play and the proof of payment, I still haven't received any response. I will not stop demanding until I get my money back or I will be activated and get full access just like other paying members but for additional duration since I have already been paying without being allowed to use. If it, EliteSingles.com, refuses to do any of the things mentioned above, I will take legal action.
Desired outcome: Full Refund or added time for paid membership and getting all the features including VIP
Site accessibility from abroad
I have experienced, the site is unavailable from abroad.
This information was not presented at the time of payment for premium subscription.
Furthermore, I demanded a refund for october 2021, cas I was unable to use the site. One support worker asked me to provide payment details, letting me think, my request would be fulfilled.
The other support worker rejected my request.
https://support-fr.elitedating.be/hc/requests/73341370
Therefore, I want to cancel my subscription and get full refund.
Desired outcome: Full refund
Wanting to report a date scammer but no contact form available
There are dating scammers on the dating site, I wish to report them but even though this site claims you can use their contact form...IT DOES NOT EXIST
nor is there any e-mail address to use.
They only supply a actual address but being in Germany who is to say that is the place of business?
The only time you can report anybody is if they send you an inappropriate message, but the SCAM starts when you give your whatsapp number and ask them for a voice note or their profile pic changes - thats when they become dodgy.
I would like to protect others from these scammers.
All other sites including Linkedin etc. have a clear path to reporting scammers. There are 3 dots next to every job posting that allows you to immediately report a scammer.
Desired outcome: All other sites including Linkedin etc. have a clear path to reporting scammers. There are 3 dots next to every job posting that allows you to immediately report a scammer.
Refund denied after 24hrs
Everywhere you search on web, you read you have right to get a refund after 3 days of paying(no fine print)..simply if not satisfied reach out to cancel I did that after 24hours! Poor quality "elites" as advertised, poor matches and many technical issues..when I emailed to refund my 129$, they refused because apparently I sent a message to one of members that they suggested was a match?! What? They said it was void after that. I likely didnt even mean to press send because the texh glitches !regardless, how is that standing by their commitment they have advertised. If I followed link to free trail why would I be able to send a message anyway? That is just scamming people.I am a single mom and not being ripped off 129$ for browsing to see if a product is right for me. You cant even contact by phone and only wait till they email you back. This is so wrong and I want my refund immediately!
Desired outcome: Refund
