This agreement is made this day 14th july. 2010 between emirates airline group, united kingdom under the laws of uk (Hereinafter called emirates airline group, united kingdom and employee (Hereinafter referred to specifically as contractor of the second part. )

Article 1.
Emirates airline group, united kingdom desires to secure the services of a competent contractor to provide expatriate working services and others as specified to first party contractor.

1.1 contractor and consultant present to emirates airline group, united kingdom; that it has the technical competence necessary for carrying out all the services, duties and obligations specified in this contract on the part of contractor to be assumed and performed and has agreed to carry out the same in accordance with the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth.

Article 2: contract period
The contract period shall be for contract duration: the contract shall last for duration of (12) consecutive months; one (1) year and could be renewed only if employer is satisfied with employee's services. This is with effect from the 14th august, 2010.

Article 3: fees for services and terms of paymentsrticle 3: fees for services and terms of payments
3.1 emirates airline group, united kingdom shall pay contractor / consultants on satisfactory performance of the services stated in article 1, through 1st party contractor the sum gbp 11, 920.00 after tax. (Eleven thousand nine hundred and twenty pounds only) monthly or euros equivalent depending on employee’s home country.

3.2 emirates airline group, united kingdom shall pay for services rendered in article 1 by cheque presented on a monthly basis at the rate stated in article 3.1.

3.3 payments of undisputed invoices will be made emirates airline group, united kingdom to the contractor monthly.

3.4 emirates airline group, united kingdom shall pay all of the fees in article 3.1 in pounds or dollars equivalent depending on employees’ home country and shall be paid; 75% to an offshore account provided by contractor and 25% locally.

The employee will be reimbursed by the employer for reasonable moving expense incurred only as a result of relocation or early termination of leases, storage charges; procurement of travel documents (Flight tickets) ,
Immunizations etc. Reimbursements shall be made before employees embark on journey not later than five (5) working days after submission of employee’s expense report and receipts, this after the acquisition of relevant traveling papers through their local representatives assistance from the immigrations/internal affairs ministry in uk.
Employer for each intercontinental trip shall pay & pound; 5, 520.00 flat rate travel/entertainment allowance to employee. Travel shall be by business class/first class. However for the purpose of commencement, the cost of travel ticket shall be paid in addition to travel/entertainment allowance. Cost shall be substantiated and shall be the rate charged at the period/time of purchase.

Employer shall also take care of employees' travel ticket including that of employees' family only on employees' early notification to employer and as shall be requested by employee.

New employed and recruited for emirates airline group, united kingdom (And not presently possessing a valid residence, work permits, visa) shall be expected to personally incur all expenses as shall be related to the processing, procurement and acquisition of their necessary permits clearance papers with the univerialtraveling agency and shall be duly reimbursed and will be substantiated with receipts and the employer will reimburse the employee not later than five (5) working days after submission of employee’s expense report and receipts.

You shall be required to furnish us with your valid residence, work permits and visa on or before the 30th july 2010, as a proof of readiness to join the emirates airline group, united kingdom project team in the due time as stipulated above for your job resumption with the emirates airline group, united kingdom and also to enable you receive your first monthly salary including your due entitlements/emoluments prior to your departure for services with the emirates airline group, united kingdom.

However, for expatriate services employees who do not presently posses their valid residence/work permits papers and visa, they are to make contact with the address given below for directives and assistance on the acquisition and procurement of their united kingdom valid residence and work permits papers.

Article 4: comfirmed employees
Confirmed employees are those employee’s that have successfully acquired and forwarded his/her necessary permits clearance papers to the employers’ management-duly certified by the uk immigration services/federal ministry of foreign affairs of the united kingdom). Then they shall be entitled to article 3.0-3.4 above.

Article 5: indemnity
The contractor agrees to indemnify and hereby indemnifies emirates airline group, united kingdom in respect of all third party claims arising from the performance of this contract.

Article 6: benefits
1. Family / single five bedroom flat duplex will be provided by the company.
2. Free medical & travel insurance for employee / family. Family includes wife and kids.
3. 10 days leave / break / vacation after every 90 working days
4. Flight fares (Air tickets).
5. Free education scheme to expatriates children/family
6. Free toyota camry 2007 model.

Article 7: force majeure
7.1 not withstanding any thing herein stated, neither party should be considered in default in the performance of its obligations under this agreement as a result of force majeure.
The term "force majeure" shall include but not limited to act of god, war, nation wide strike, lockout, riot and civil commotion. A strike or lockout embarked upon by only the contractor’s personnel shall not be deemed to be included in this term.
7.2 if an interruption of work occurs as a result of "force majeure" for up to seven (7) days, 70% of the basic daily fees shall be paid as standby.

However, if such suspension results in contractor not being able to perform its duties for more than seven (7) days, then emirates airline group, united kingdom may at its option elect to continue the implementation of this agreement at adjusted standby rates to be negotiated by emirates airline group, united kingdom and contractor or to terminate the contract.

Article 8: termination
8.1 this agreement may be terminated: -
(I) if the services stated in article 1 and are not rendered satisfactorily.
(Ii) if the duration of the agreement stated in article 2 expires and no extension has been given.
(Iii) under force majeure as stated in article 7.0

Article 9: default of contractor
9.1 in the event of default by contractor or non-compliance by contractor with the terms and conditions of this agreement, emirates airline group, united kingdom shall give notice to contractor specifying areas of default and contractor shall have ten (10) calendar days to rectify to emirates airline group, united kingdom satisfaction, the said default (S). If contractor does not rectify to emirates airline group, united kingdom satisfaction, the said default (S) within ten (10) days of receipt of the notice, emirates airline group, united kingdom may proceed with termination of this agreement subject only to settlement of all payments due and outstanding at the time of termination.

Article 10: entire agreement
This agreement embodies the entire understanding of the parties hereto and any prior representation or arrangements are hereby superseded.

Article 11: attestation
As witness, the hands of the duly authorized representatives of the parties, the day and year first above written;

Emirates refusal of upgrade despite illness

On the 10th of July I travelled with you on flight EK0027 from Dubai to Glasgow. I suffer from panic disorder and agrophobia and have been seeing a psychiatrist and taking medication for this condition for over a year,

On boarding, I asked to speak to a supervisor to see if there was the chance to be upgraded because of my illness; I showed her my letter from my doctor. She said this would be highly unlikely as I am only a blue member and asked me to stand – (not take a seat!) - until everyone had boarded and assured me that if there were any available seats in first/business class then she may be able to move me, however her attitude was aloof and coarse. She said there were pregnant women etc. who needed the seats more than me; was she mocking my illness? Of course pregnant woman need more space as do I.

Once everyone was boarded; and this took a long time, so I was standing, panicking for around 40/50 mins; a lot of passengers were late.
After everone was aboard, I was told I could not take a spare seat in business class despite me viewing quite a few empty ones. Instead I was ushered to seat 8A - an emergency area and had a neighbour a Mr James McManus seat 8C - he is happy to confirm any of this complaint.

As the business class toilets were the nearset I was using them without problems; the staff in this area were all smiley and seemed kind. Later on I went back again and this time the uncouth supervisor told me to use the toilets at the back; what had this woman got in for me I thought? On my return from my long walk back from the back area of the toilets – queued out Mr Mc Manus told me he had seen a Japanese lady from our area use the business class toilets no bother. By this time I was exasperated and could not wait to get home. I had been up since 2am to make my flight from Abu Dhabi where I live and work as an Educational consultant; my company always book my flights but I will be considering changing to Etihad or another more caring airline.

I would appreciate a reply within 7 days and a goodwill gesture. Should you require attachments please let me know.

Sorry if your ill don't travel, if you must travel accept that you will experience possible ill affects due to your condition.
Nothing personal but if I found out someone had been upgraded for free and got a seat next to me I'd be raging at the
staff for doing it.

Emirates ex employee of emirates now in australia

I would like advice a Kelly McKnight now ages 39 was a steward with Emirates when she was 30 for 5 years in Dubai and has since arrived back in Australia and is now with our company. Kelly has told us of a very violent episode where she attacked and hurt a fellow worker in the Emirates House provided in Dubai during her stay four years ago. Kelly has a problem with alcohol and becomes extremely hostile and violent of which now she is behaving like this at our company and she has glassed her current husband in the neck and broken his fingers from violence. He does not complain to the police as her behaviour is of great concern to our current company. Can you please let me know further information of the incident with the woman from emirates. Are police still looking for her and should the police here be notified of these violent incidences. She is making violent threats to people within our company and we are just gathering information on her to bring it to the attention of the police here in Surfers Paradise Australia Thanking you for your prompt reply. Emirates non co-operation

To whom it may concern:
Myself dr. sandeep chauhan from india went to germany, while coming back from emirates airlines on 3/7/10 to new delhi india went for check in at 12:45 i. e. the timings for opening of check in counter, my number came with in 15 mins. 3 counters were open for economy class 1 for business and 1 first class, seeing heavy rush they opened first class counter for economy class, so my number came to the only male employee rest were females. I request him to provide my window and middle seat for myself and my wife and not so at the back because my wife has a knee problem she cannot bend her knee completely so see needs the sport of my leg to give rest to herself, because of an old injury of her knee. we had to take 2 boarding pass from munich to dubai then from dubai to new delhi. though it was a long journey, our sequence no. 140 and 141 flight no. ek050 from munich to dubai he provided me seat nos.48e and 48f, and from dubai to new delhi flight no. ek510 seq no. 58 & 59 seats provided 34g & 34h, but it was shocking for me when I boarded the flight the passenger sitting beside me his seq no. +200 ? was that justified a person at 150 got the same seat and a person who checked in very late also got the same seat?
My complaint is this beside knowing about my problem he did not co-operated with me and gave fake information that no seats left till delhi. if this is emirates flight then I don't want emirates.

ARTICLE 6: UPFRONT SALARY PAYMENTS:
The First two months upfront salaries shall be paid in advance before consultants embark on journey to assume duty. This is to enable consultants settle all domestic needs before travel. As such no excuses will be entertained on assumption of duty relating to default.

Employees (Expatriates) are to note that 2 MONTH UPFRONT SALARIES are paid as soon as Employees Submit their UK Valid Papers Works and Residence Permit here in London and submit it to the Human Resources Department.
All payment of Salary after assumption of duty in London shall be 75% paid into an offshore account to be provided by employee with the remaining 25% paid locally in London. This is in line with the London Expatriate Financial Statutory Laws.

ARTICLE 7: FEEDING AND ACCOMODATION:
All Employees are expected to reside at the Company’s Staff estate. There are Single Bed-room and Flat options for Employees to choose from. Employees are entitled to take meals free of charge at the General Staff canteens. Dietary options, Customized cooks and Dieticians are available options.
ARTICLE 8: MEDICAL EXPENCES:

Employer will provide the employee with comprehensive Health care for the term of contract, and follow-on care for injuries suffered during the term of contract for employee and family.

ARTICLE 9: SAFETY AND SECURITY:
Safety and Security of personnel (Local/Foreign) and Facilities on Job Locations and communities are no small issues, and have been seriously considered to ensure and assure hitch free operations. All operations on Job Location are designed to adhere strictly to the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy. All expatriates are entitled to a free and mandatory safety courses on Job Locations to be delivered by qualified safety and environment experts.

Emirates flight delay

I was supposed to reach islamabad pakistan on 31 may 2010 at 0730 but I reached at 21:30 with 14 hours delay, with loss of all one working day.
I had to attend very high priority business meeting which was important for my carrier. But it was emirates, who was behind to miss that opportunity. I had a financial loss of $350 but loss to miss the meeting is not bearable.

Complete detail:

My e-ticket no 176 [protected]
Reservation number (S) ek/bxyfrf

I was supposed to travel on sunday 30 may 2010, at emirates ek 904 from amman jo to dubai at 1730.
Next connecting flight was on monday 31 may 2010 by ek 612 from dubai to islamabad at 0325, which was supposed to reach islamabad pk by 0700 in morning.

But

Due to technical prob.In flight ek 904, it didn't departed on time.
Instead of 1730, it was said earlier that it will depart at 1900, then 2000 then 2100 then 2200 and finally at 2300 flight was canceled/grounded.

It was advised that buses will bring us to hotel (Tulip hotel near amman airport) , which was a pathetic hotel whose air-conditioned was not working.
No single room was available, have to choose another partner for the same room even if u don't know who is he... ?

After 18 hours, next day at flight ek 902 I departed from amman and arrived at dubai.
But a new problem started...
Emirates booked my next flight in pk212 for islamabad, pakistan but pia refused to take me because emirates didn't issued the ticket no/fin.
I again ran to emirates office in search of help, had to rush as there was only 1 hour left to close the boarding. It was a very very hectic to get ticket no from emirates and pass this to pia to get boarding pass.

At amman airport I didn't find the complaint box... During flight ek 902, there was a guy named "ghassan". I said to him that I want complaint/suggestion form to fill.
He said he will provide me and finally he didn't.

Anyways, finally I reached islamabad, pakistan on 31 may 2010, by 2130 with 14 hours delay.

Emirates slander by a staff (maybe the manager)

they gave me a lot of trouble(over weight) when i was trying to check in. And one of the staff of Emirates(called Andrew Hughes, S535883) said he saw i talk to a friend of mine and ask him to help bring my luggage. But the truth is im so busy to repack my luggage and i didnt even say hello to him. But that staff threat my friend say if he help me to carry my luggage, he will call the police to arrest him and he break the law. After that that staff(Andrew Hughes) found out my friend are not even travel today, so he started to chasing after me and shouting to me. He keep saying that i break the law because i asked my friend to share my luggage, and he will call the police. He was keep doing that over and over again, finally when i check in again, he running to me and told the staff who at the check in desk to check me seriously cause i break the law and ask someone to carry my luggage. And i just cant stand that horrible slander anymore. I ask him to show me the evidence. We started arguing, and he called police and say Im not allowed to travel today. I said ok, im strongly agree to talk to the police and find out who lied. But the police didnt come, and finally he let me go because more an more passengers seeing what happened. But he did threat me at the end, he said he will report to the Security in Dubai when i transit there. i cant image what they gunna do to me if im there. What a horrible thing, so i keep his name and working number. I canceled my flight. it costs me 150pounds, also i paid 1400 pounds for another new ticket. I dont know if they are going to be serious about this. they asked me to email them this afternoon. Here is the content of that:

My name is Xiaosu Huang, my E-ticket number is [protected], Emirates-EK036. And I supposed to fly today. When i was trying to check in, they said my luggage is overweight, so i was trying really hard to re-pack my luggage. Meanwhile me and one of my friends met some other classmates around the check in desk area, so my friend just go and say hello to one of my classmates, but i was busy for re-packing my luggage during that time. I dont even talk to any one of them. After that my classmates came to my friend and told her that one of the staff(Andrew Hughes) just threat him, and told him that he will be under arrest if he helps other people to bring the luggage, and he break the law. The point is that guy is not going to have a journey today, and maybe that staff(Andrew Hughes) found out that. And when i keep re-packing my luggage, that staff(Andrew Hughes) started to pushing me out of the business check in channel, and i did it because i just noticed that i did occupy the channel, so i just move away and out of the main entrance of the check in queue area. But that staff keep chasing after me again and shouting at me to move a little bit further(not even quarter meter). At that point, i feel really uncomfortable, so i just told him that could him give me a moment to move please, just a moment, because the luggage is really heavy. Unfortunately again, he shouting at me again to move right now and saying im breaking the law that he is guanna call the police. Once again, i moved away for quarter meter. Then he chasing after me again and he said me "Dont show me your attitude and just move away". In fact, I didnt even say one world except OK. Finally I go to the queue again, and when i arrive to the check in desk, the staff(Andrew Hughes) running to me and told the guy in the check in desk to check me seriously and said i break the law. And now eventually i cant afford that undeserved discharge anymore. So I asked him that what law i break. He said he saw in himself that i tried to ask one of my classmates to bring the luggage for me. And he is sure that he even got the video. I said i never talk to that classmates in person today at the airport, and i'd like to see any video as the evidence. More and more even my friend cant stand he shouting at me,we kinda started arguing. At that time, he said im not allowed to travel today because i break the law and he called police. Honestly I cant help crying myself to let the police give me back my innocent, because i dont even say a word to that classmate. While im waiting for the police, he saw a lot of passengers saw what were we doing and shouting at me again say" i dont need to see you attitude". all the passengers are seeing the truth and seeing how a big man shouting to a little girl. Dramatically he changed his behaviours a lot, because he noticed that a lot of people are seeing how he lied, how he was super rude to a girl. And the police didnt come but finally he said I can queue again and check in, but he threat me that he will report to the security in Dubai when I transit there. I feel really scared that what he will do to me when i transit in Duibai after he did those horrible things to me. So I decided to cancel my flight, because it is dreadful for me. Due to that I strongly require the camera video in the airport to be evidence. Because I dont even ask anybody to help me to bring my luggage. I didnt break the law, he doesnt have the right to just keep saying i break the law without evidence. Also humiliate me and shouting at me in the public again and again. I need that video to be evidence to show how horrible things he did to me. And it's necessary to investigate the passengers and other staff who saw what happened. Please find the video and help me. I know that i have the right to ask for the video and you have the duty to show that to me. This thing is really serious for me, i cant even go home now. So could you please find out what is going on exactly and give me back my innocent. I will reserve my right to take steps legally. Thank you very much.

I think I came across the same person when travelling to India. He was very rude.
I was cerrying a laptop as second hand bag. The check in desk officer informed me that the laptop as extra hang bag is not allowed in Emirates. I was surprised as I usually acrry it in other airlines. I offered to keep in the checked luggage but then this man appeared and asked me to come out of the line and go back to put the laptop in the checked luggage. I fely very bad the way he spoke and sounded very rude.
I think everybody should write about him. We also deal with public but would like to know if the airline gets the customer feedback for the employee.

Emirates passport torn by emirates staff while checking

Hi,
This is sudarshan tinguria writing this mail because I had a very bad experience flying by emirates on sector sanfrancisko - dubai - hyderabad.

I travelled on date 23may 2010 from sfo-dxb, seat number: 48k time 16:45.

The incident happend in sfo airport.
Actually I did online checkine.
In sfo airport,
I approached online checkine counter.
The girl named jessica was allocated to that counter.
While removing the i-94 page from my passport she torn the page of my passport.
It was not not at all the simple mistake.
The way she handelled my passport clearly indicated her carelessness while work.
The i-94 page was stappelled to the passport.
Instead of removing the pin, she forcefully pulled the page of the passport to which the i-94 document was attached and she torn the passport page. The way she did this was the same way when we tear some useless paper. So she treated my passport as a dustbin material. And the worst part of it, instead of accepting the mistake she was trying to hide it.
I immediatly reported her manager, mr. Jon lantin and explained him the whole story and asked his help and he said that he will send the mail to hyderabad desk for the compensation in lieu of the cost of my new passport and the inconveniece which I will face now to make a new passport and he suggested me to board the flight and promised me that he will definetly coordinate with hyderabad emirates office as soon as the flight departs but then also I asked him the letter as a proof to show hyderabad office and he wrote the letter on plain paper which is attached to this mail. I agreed and I boarded the flight ek226.

Then I reached dubai.

By flight ek524, seat 21b, I reached hyderabad on 25 may2010 at 3:00 o clock.
Anyhow I managed to approach emirates staff at hyd.
I spoke to mr. Vinay dabrai (Supervisor) id number : 586655 and described him the whole incident. He said that they did not got any mail and he said that your case is taken very casually by sfo staff and they cannot do anything. He did not take any action. After I asked, he got convinced to send a mail to sfo asking for their clarification and to inform me about he same. But this is also not yet done.

Now, I am mailing you hoping that my complaint will be taken care of and I will be given compensation and a letter from your side to stating that my passport got damaged because of this incident and that girl named jassica should be held responsible for her careless style of doing her job and handling my passport like a waste piece of paper and take action against her as per your company procedure.

Note: passport is a very important document and has got very very high importance so should be handeled very carefully.
I was among those passengers who always respected emirates airways and was a big fan of it. But the way I was treated and fooled by your staff has broken my faith towards airline.

Now, you are the one who can give me justice.

I was a vicitim of this. My passport page got torn, when I94 was taken out. You could not do anything; just get a new passport to be free from hassles.

Emirates lost baggage

Myself, my husband and our children, then aged 1 & 3 arrived in sydney from manchaster, uk, the beginning of january 2010 flying with emirates. Only three of our four 30kg suitcases arrived (We where emigrating). Last week we received a call from dubia saying our case had been found with monach airlines still in manchester airport. We chased again, early this week and there is no note on the file that anyone has rang and we cannot trace who this person was. They are now going to settle our claim with the minimum amount we are entitled to which is approximately $1500 american dollars. The service has been nothing but appauling, the case contained christmas presents from family for our children as well as many more much needed items. This amount will not allow us to replace even half of what was in that suitcase and we are devastated. I would advise anyone considering flying with emirates to reconsider, there are many other airlines who i'm sure would give a better service.

If anyone can give some advise on what we should do next we would very much appreciate it.

I am a UN employ and was traveling from Istanbul to Karachi on 17th Jan 08.. Upon arrival I was shocked to learn that my luggage didn't arrive. I had only one bag and besides clothing, it contained a lot of important documents, computer CDs and hard Disk. I approached the emirates staff at Jinnah International terminal Karachi but besides registering the complaint, they couldn't help me. Today, its about 2 weeks with no hope for good. I have contacted emirates staff at Karachi, Islamabad and even at Dubai but they are still unable to locate my bag... All they have to offer is a HOPE... for the good...

I am writing to you regarding my lost baggage.I flew with emirates on the 18th of March 2009 from Heathrow Airport at 8:50am to Dubai then from Dubai to Islamabad.I got to Islamabad at 01:55am on the 19th of March 2009.I was flying to Pakistan because my uncle was not well and for my best friends weddin.When i got to Islamabad i phoned my family to let them know that my plane has landed and found-out that my uncle passed away while i was on the flight.I was really upset when i heard this and because i live far from islamabad (in GURAT) i just wanted to get to the funeral.I was rushing alot, travelling with my child (aged two and a half years) was not easy in this condition as he was tired, sleepy and was not wanting to walk with me.I got my luggage in a rush and forgot that i had booked my hand luggage aswell as the other two bags at the Heathrow Airport as it was to big for the cabinets in the plane and also was over wieght which i payed for at the Heathrow Airport.I came to know this on the fourth day after the funeral had finished and i had come back to my house.I tried getting in touch with the airport so i could report my lost baggage, they gave me an email-address which i mailed so many times but never any sort of reply, after emailing them for two days and not getting any sort of reply i decided to go to the Airport in Islamabad myself.When i got to the Airport i was told that the opening times where from 9am to 4pm i got there at half 4:00pm.I then stayed the night in Islamabad at a hotel.The next morning i went to the Emirates office in Islamabad, they first refused to deal with my complaint by saying we only right a complaint in the first 5 days and nothing can be done after that.I was then given an email address and a phone number for Dubai and was told to write a complaint to them.I wrote that email address for GOD KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES!but never got no reply i then started to phone the number i was given WHICH NOBODY PICKED UP!I got so fed up and angry after constantly mailing and phoning the same thing after ONE AND A HALF WEEK! I asked my mother in the uk to get me Emirates baggage complaint number, which i phoned from Pakistan and told them everything that had happened, they said we will get in touch with me as soon as they find out where my luggage is whether it has got left behind in Dubai or Pakistan.I waited and waited nobody phoned, I tried again ringing them then they gave me a different number to ring so now i rang them also in the uk and was told to write a complaint i told them i am flying back in 2 days time now i dont think i would have the time to email them so i was told to do so soon as i get to the uk.i still emailed them but no reply again.I have now come to the uk and got this email address, so now could you please help me and let me know as soon as possible where my luggage is, which i had packed to take for the wedding but as you can see it didnt help which has already made me angry alot so i expect you to get things going and find me my luggage and if not pay me for the things i had in there and for all the hassle i had to go through in Pakistan just to get in touch with someone to make a Complaint!

i traveled thru emirates on the 12th of feb 2010 from dubai to delhi, flight no. EK 512. considering its one of the best airlines.. i did not expect such poor services. a lost the baggage at delhi airport and still have got no report abt it bag tag no. is EK 662081. my experience at delhi airport was horrible.. no officers were taking any responsibility, no body was on desk, it took me 4 hours to fill a simple form n nobody was even bothering to guide.. this was not at all expected from emirates and its officers... after long hours of effort i got a phone no. to find out details and no one ever recieves the calls n whenever they do .. the reply is blank.." we dont know maam, talk to such n such person on some other no. or we ll call u maam". n i ve recieved no call til date from your office its been 3 days and i don know where my bag is.. its been very dissapointing.. it will be have things worth 15000 indian rupees .

i need help as soon as possible bcoz i have no clue what is happening...they even took the baggage identification tags at the airport.

i expect that u wil take an action as soon as possible

To whom it may concern,
I Sukhwindwer Kaur Uppal was on Flight EK036/EK510 flying from Newcastle to India Delhi via Dubai on an Emirates flight on the 13th February 2011. As I landed on the 14th of February in India Delhi, I was deeply distressed to find that my baggage tag number EK039173 was not on the flight. I waited for a long time until all luggage was placed on the carousel and I was devastated to hear from an airport employee that there was no more baggage to be collected.
I am deeply disappointed and upset that my holiday was ruined before I even got to my destination. I had no clothes, shoes, underwear and had to buy all these items again. I also had several pounds worth of wedding gifts for my nieces wedding and family.
This was the first holiday I have had in years and the first time I have flown with Emirates. I was looking forward to my sister’s child’s wedding, however it turned out to be a nightmare as all I did for the whole stay whilst I was in India was constantly contact Emirates and the Airport at Delhi to no avail and to a considerable cost to myself. The staff were extremely unhelpful and rude and said that they could not help me, therefore leaving me without baggage for the entire stay in India. I have been home for almost 2 weeks now and still no baggage. I have never had this distressing experience before and hope to never encounter such negligence and incompetence ever again.
I would be grateful if you could resolve this matter as soon as possible and w ith some reasonable compensation attached for the inconvenience I have had to endure. My holiday was ruined due to the airlines incompetence and unprofessionalism.

On 17th July, on our holiday we were travelling from Istanbul to Dubai.
To my surprise one of our bag didnt reach Dubai airport. We lodged a compliant with lost and found dept at Dubai airport. We had to go by taxi thrice to airport to process this. It had all my shopping from turkey. Now after reaching back to my home town I have been continuously calling emirates office at New Delhi, I always get same reply proceedings are on.
It's been 40 days now, my bag has been declared lost, but I hvnt got any call or compensation from emirates. I don't know how much more time they need to process this.

I have travelled on emirates flight from hyderabab, india to belfast, united kingdom on 31st March 2013. On arrival, i did received my baggage however to my surprise emirates did not delivered my kids stroller (buggy) in belfast.
I did approached fly-be airlines ( emirates connecting flight from Birmingham, UK) authorities and provide them all necessary information and details that are required to progress with enquiry however no update /response has been received as on 13th april2013.
I did contacted Emirates office based in Birmingham and i have been requested to file a complaint on emirates web portal. I have submitted a complaint lat week however no status update has been received from emirates officials so far.
I am not not sure what is required from my end to find the status regarding my kids lost buggy.

Your help and guidance would be much appreciated.

I am a gold card memberEK [protected]. I traveled from Lahore to Dubai on EK625 on 20 September 2008 and from dubai to paris on EK75 on 20 September 2008. I checked in one bag which did not arrive at paris. I stayed in paris for 2 days and still i did not receive my bag. Lost baggage report no. is PCA bagages 0826.101.206. As i had an important business meeting in paris on 21 september 2008 and due to severe cold, i had to purchase necessary clothes valuing euro 220, the receipt of which i had provided at the paris emirates office. i want emirates to refund me this amount ASAP. Now i am in Mississauga, ON, Canada. Still i have not received my bag here although i had given my Canada address in paris. I am traveling back from Toronto to London on 1 october 2008 and from london to Dubai on 2 october 2008 and from dubai to lahore on 3 october 2008. i need some necessary clothes in canada. i want emirates to pay for extra cost of clothes which i will purchase in canada in case i fail to receive my bag by tomorrow. also, if my bag is lost, i need emirates to pay me US$700, the cost of the items in my lost bag in addition to the payment of clothes i purchased in paris and to be purchased in canada. Kindly reply ASAP

Emirates racial discrimination in-flight

I was travelling to the us with my 7month old baby for the first time alone. I needed the cabin crew's help while preparing my baby's milk and food since he couldn't sit on his own and was too cranky maybe cause he was on flight for the first time. To my surprise none would answer the call but my co-passengers were kind and more humane. Again when I asked one of the flight attendents who was serving juice to fill my babies feeding bottle with some juice he said it was "quite unprofessional" to do so and hence he wouldn't fill it up. Gosh! What are they for? What's their duty? At another instance when I asked him to serve me meals after about 15mins he said he couldn't and that he would serve sandwich that too only after 2-3hrs. Racial discrimination was visible enough for I saw him serve the passengers next to me exactly after 15mins. The same crew member refused to help me with my cabin bag when I couldn't hold onto it with my baby trying to jump off my arms. Someone has to do something about that guy.

I agree with the above comment. You cannot expect an Airline stewdard/steardess to do all these things for you. I Am a Steward and primarily we are there for your safety not to fill up your babys bottle with juice. You are one of 400 or more passengers that the crew are looking after. Not everyones demands can be met within an instant all the time. Do you expect them to lift 400 passengers bags? We are not there as your slaves. MOst of us have university degrees's and are working this job to travel. We are not uneducated people who couldnt find a better job. You should prepare yourself if you are going to be traveling with a child as it is difficult. Dont blame the airlines for it.

Emirates denied boarding

I would like to highlight the issue I had with emirates airlines in dubai while flying to houston, usa and the way the emirates ground staff have treated me citing 'emirates policy' which I think is casting a poor shadow on the emirates world class customer service and customer appeal.

I think emirates defenitely have to do something about this policy so that they can retain their customer service reputation in this competetive world economy.

I was on a confirmed ticket flying from dubai to houston on 17-apr-2010 (Saturday). The flight was to take off at 9:15 am and I reached well before the time to check-in at terminal 3 in dubai. I had tried to check-in online but emirates had disabled online check-in due to the volcanic ash air issue in europe.

To my surprise - when I arrived at the check-in counter I was told that I am on 'stand-by'. I said that I have a confirmed ticket and why am I put on standby? The staff said it is normal that emirates generally overbooks flights by 10-15% assuming that many people will be a no-show. They said that I will need to wait till other passengers check-in and if there is availability I will be given a seat.

After a long wait - the staff then said that the flight is full and they would give me a complimentary one-way ticket from dubai-houston in exchange.

I have sent a postal mail to their chicago office in which I have said that I would like to know:

1. Why was I denied boarding when other passengers behind me were checked-in? I feel that this is a case of discrimination because passengers behind me (With american or european passport) were given quick check-in and I was denied boarding.

2. I was told that I will get a complimentary one-way ticket from dubai to houston. A couple of passengers who 'accepted' going on stand-by (I was not requested for stand-by - I was jsut told that I am on standby) - the others were getting two-way tickets dubai-houston-dubai and so I asked that why am I only getting a 1-way ticket? They said that it is emirates policy that based on the itinerary we hold we will be compensated. They said that since the other passengers have 2-way tickets they will be provided a two-way ticket and since I hold only a 1-way ticket I will be given only a 1-way ticket. Whereas the trauma that we are going through for being denied boarding is of the same level - we should be recompensed equally. This is another level of discrimination.

3. Finally - I requested that 'give me a travel voucher instead of this ticket because it is of no use because I live in chicago and my home town is bangalore... So dubai-houston is one-leg of my six-leg journey on emirates and buying such a ticket of 5-legs and putting this single dubai-houston leg into the ticket will not reduce my ticket cost. If I get a travel voucher - that will be able to offset my ticket cost for whatever route I choose. They said that they dont have that option.

I am from india and currently residing in usa.In india and in usa - we are not denied boarding unless we are late. If we have a confirmed ticket and the flight is full - we are requested to go on standby. Once when I was flying in india on kingfisher airlines - the airlines called me 6 hours before my flight if I can go on standby and they will give me appropriate compensation. I would call that 'first class customer service'.

What I am have requested from them is to

1. Research this issue and respond to this letter. I would like appropriate compensation because the one-way voucher is uselss to me (I have placed a copy of the voucher)

2. Relook into your policies and make them more user-appealing and customer friendly. You cannot deny boarding to a person without provide appropriate compensation and making them happy. At least I feel that there must be couple of options - say a two-way ticket or a travel voucher. That will make the customers happy.

I had initial plans to report this issue to consumer forums and leading newspapers in chicago but I would like to hear what you have to say about this issue first. I am extremely hurt at the way I have been treated and feel that I am a victim of discrimination.

If any of you have complained to consumer forums or courts in usa - kindly let me know. This cannot go on for ever by emirates.

Emirates unacceptable service

With reference to: perth - dubai, flight ek 421, 28 april 2010 (seats 6d & 6e, business class). boeing 777-300. one leg of uk - perth - uk trip.

This booking was made and confirmed as being on the latest boeing 777. however, the aircraft provided by emirates did not fulfil expectations as set out by emirates in the publicity provided at time of booking. seating was not up to minimum standards, was old and very uncomfortable.
As regular frequent flyers from the uk to western australia, this was the first time emirates had been chosen for the round trip with the expectation that we might become frequent flyers with emirates. however, the lack of communication regarding the downgrading of the aircraft on this leg of the journey with the consequential poor and unacceptable experience leads us to question whether we should continue with this airline.
Some compensation would be appropriate together with an explanation and a reassurance that high standards could once again be expected in the future.

Emirates discrimination in service

Hi

I found no way of providing a feedback to Emirates Airlines, in their own portals. This itself shows Emirates irresponsibility in catering to the customer.

The reason I didnt send this complaint last week (immediately after my travel) is because, I didnt want it to be lost in the Volcanic Dust !

Hoping that somebody from Emirates will look upon this forum for feedbacks.

I wanted to bring to your notice that your service from Dubai (DXB) to Kochi (COK) is pathetic, whereas your service from Dubai (DXB) to London Heathrow (LHR) is one of the best in its category.

Need to know, why there is a discrimination in flights to different destinations?

To give an account of the story, I booked a Return ticket from LHR DXB COK. The flights LHR -> DXB and DXB -> LHR were truly world class, whereas the ones from DXB -> COK and COK -> DXB were equally pathetic.

DXB -> COK - Quality of the plane was very low. The plane was an old timer. Service mentality of the stewards was very bad.
COK -> DXB - Eventhough, the menu had 2 Non Veg meals and 1 Veg meal, when I asked for a Non Veg meal, your flight had no stock of it. Only Veg Meals were available. Again, service mentality of the stewards was very bad.

If you want to coampare 2 extreme way of catering / servicing, I suggest you go on a trip from LHR to COK, via DXB.

I have spent £ 525 for my Return ticket (which is comparatively on the higher end) and unfortunately, have to say that I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the Service. I would definitely say, Spending this much amount on this flight was not worth it.

No matter how good you cater to one location, if the service is pathetic to other locations, you wont be considered as top class. I suggest, you work on the discrimination part immediately. Cultures might differ, but all should be treated equal.

Whats the big deal in providing a catering service based on a region's cuisine ? Does only Emirates has this facility ?

Many companies setting up sales / operations in India, cater to the local needs of the country. Do you accept this ? If Yes, the same is applicable to Emirates Airlines as well. Its an International flight catering heavily to the Indian segment (atleast in their service from DXB -> COK).

Just because, they have mentioned "Chicken Biriyani" in their menu does not make them an Indian Friendly flight. They also need to live up to their promise of providing the offered, to the customer. If they are not doing so and mentioning an "apology" at the bottom, is definitely not acceptable. I am not a "frequent flyer", but I am a consumer who spents money and who do have demands.

First time when I flew alone, I thought it was indeed the meal choice getting over. But when my wife faced the same issue after 10 days, I decided that it was more than just a coincidence. Then when I talked with my colleagues, they mentioned the same problem as well. All these cannot be mere coincidences.

Based on the above, I strongly feel that I have acted "maturely". To raise a valid concern on behalf of himself / herself and for others is definitely not immaturity.

Do you accept buying an iPhone from a dealer, having a scratch on it, after spending a hefty amount on it ? Definitely you wont, even if there is an apology note on the phone. You can still use the phone for all your needs, dont you ? Then why do you complain ?

Thats the same reason why I complain. Whether its a phone or television or a service or Emirates Airlines, being a consumer, if I am not satisfied, I will definitely complain.

Yes, "Mr. Pathethic" have to grow up. May god bless him in his endeavour of growing up !

But, what about the mighty Emirates Airlines ? They are a big chain and they ought to be grown up and more responsible, but they are not. Nobody responsible from the airlines have replied to me in any way. I have raised the same complaint in some other forums as well. No replies, no comments from anyone.

I have decided that I will NEVER EVER travel again in Emirates. Thats the least I can do, to protest. They sure have lost 2500 pounds from me and my family (was planning for an India trip in the winter). Better to spend it on Air India. The Air India flights are better, I heard and can also carry 46 KGs per head of luggage.

Dont know what made you write all the below. Are you seriously a gone case (probably a US passport holder ?, who shud learn to write proper english, without grammer mistakes).

Pal, its not only my accent, but the whole of my nationality is indeed Indian (and am proud of it). I am not a Brit passport holder, but since I am good at something, brits want me to work on that something in UK, temporarily. Didnt know that its a big sin.

So, according to you a good service will be provided only in the Business / 1st Class eeh.. ? Buddy, look at the mail again closely, I am not complaining about Economy class, but the discrimination in service among flights to different destinations.

Im an Indian and to be specific, I am a malayalee (hailing from Kerala) and most of us malayalees are non vegetarians (dont know, if that is a sin as well) and thats why I demanded for non veg food. Asking for what you like / want in a flight (if they have mentioned it in the menu) is something to be catered with.

Even my wife (travelled separately) had the same experience, in the same flight to DXB from COK. That implies that its not the stock getting over, but they dont keep stock of non veg meals atall in the flight. Thats where I complain. Everybody pays the same rate (atleast in economy), then why the discrimination ?

Buddy, dont get offended, but this forum is intended for complaints against a service. When I posted the complaint, I really meant that somebody from Emirates will have a look and take necessory steps.

I would appreciate it, if you keep it the same way.

I totally agree that Skylark has a valid complaint and am appalled at the racism he has experienced as a result of this - shame on you all!
I too have a valid complain against Emirates and was also dismayed to find no way of doing so directly to the company as they have absolutely NO complaints procedure!

@Sundheep: A customer who has paid money has the right to ask questions and give his comments on the product he purchased. SMJ has just done that. And dont be too emotional about Indians pulling their names down by complaining about "small" things. If you look around you will find a ton of foreigners going to some other country and bragging about the food and life there and complaining and comparing whenever there is a chance. And probably Indians like you would smile at them, and say "See, we need to improve!". They almost take it as a hobby. I am only surprised at Indians like you who are blind to these things and jump up when someone complains from our country about a foreign flight. To be frank, i have flown on both Emirates and Etihad. And their service is quite different from Dubai to India compared to Europe to Dubai. And yes, they wouldnt have done the same treatment in Europe or US. Because people would have "bragged" and "complained" about it.
All said, I would partially agree with you Sundheep that Emirates is still the best of the lot that i have flown. And its practical. The service is pretty good, but anyone who has eyes can see the difference in attitude and service between different routes.
Personally i dont think that its going to change unless there is a price hike or gross complaints.

If you are talking about discrimination i bet to disagree. Try to compare the services with other destinations in Emirates fleet. It is only in India that Emirates serve lemon drink on ground plus the mixed nuts after take-off. Meals are catered with a special indian dish. Every flight, every passenger has different prefered meal. It is not a mistake of anyone if the meal choices are done. It is clearly at the bottom of the menu card that the meal choice may ran out. I'm a frequent flyer (Gold skyward)and proud to be Indian as well. It's ashame that most of us doesn't know how to appreciate and complain about small things all the time. Not because you can afford to buy a ticket means you can treat anyone who serves you like [censor]. I see this all the time. I am proud to be indian but I am not proud of those indians who ruin our reputation just beacuse they didn't get what they want. Be a man and act maturely. I will still fly with Emirates. Compared to other airlines where the service is really crap, doesn't have much to offer on board, where every little thing you need you have to pay for plus cabin crew doesn't care about your needs. Emirates is still the most practical airline to fly with.

I agree on the complaint raised. On the same note, the guy with the name "To da pathetic pax" seems really pathetic to me. Frankly though, with the type of English he types, it feels he had 10 beers in an economy class and lost control of everything, and is shouting against someone who has raised a valid complaint. If there is something issued on the menu card, then the passenger has all the right to ask for it. This guy thinks that if you have a tiny lettered apology at the end, you are to keep your mouth shut. How about he going to India and having a dinner at a restaurant with a menu card similar to this? Would he be smiling and appreciating that the restaurant had graciously written an apology on their menu card. This pathetic guy would be the first to blabber his complaints all over the world then.
The guy needs to grow up. SMJ, on the other hand, paid for something and is only asking a fair service for what he paid. He doesnt write as if all his earnings were half a thousand pounds or so, but he is fully entitled to raise his complaint.
Being and India, and being proud to be one, I am happy SMJ took the time to reply to that "nonsense" guy in detail.

U r pathetic by thinking U could buy the whole world with only £ 525. Meal choice could run out on DXB/LHR or any other flights.

OMG~~I bet U r the Brit. passport holder but with the heavy Indian accent. Expecting there is a lavatory for Brit Indian.

If U want a better service, then buy the biz class or 1st class ticket. Stop whinning in economy and expecting to be treated like a King

Did U spend all ur $$ for the ticket that U couldn't afford to have sth decent before the flight. Aircraft food is rubbish, dunno why U make such a big deal about it. All U ppl want is chicken

Read carefully @ the last bottom line on the menu card. There is an apology about running out of meal choice. Bring a pair of glasses (if U still have $$ to buy a pair) onboard if U can't see it or perhaps... U can not read English but Indian only.

No wonder Indian is well-known one of the worst passenger to the aviation industry. U should go travel in the States where everybody is well behave by buying whoes own meal before the flight or carrying onboard.

If U want others ppl to pay respect to U then U should repect urself by educating & behaving urself.

Emirates lost luggage claim never prossesed

Hi there

I have a claim going on since last Oct. please have a look at the attached files and forms for the reference. (claim No. IKAEK36983/26Nov09/0659GMT)

I have made few phone calls since but not a proper answer or decision made yet.

I was travelling from London to Tehran, my luggage was never received when I arrived in Tehran, completed the relevant forms and I had to come back to London after few days, I have never been contacted about this claim and I do not know what to do next.
It is appreciated if you could finalize this claim and sort my problem out with Emirates.

Emirates flight change

on arriving at Bangkok airport 21/04/10 i went to check on time ek375 9.55 departure to Dubai was told they had to change my flight was then given a date 16 days in advance can an airline do this with my seats both ek375 and connecting flight ek019 Dubai to Manchester arrived on time why was i unable to take these flights and given flights 16 days in advance i am know paying for hotels until my return date can i get any compensation i cant even find an email address to complain to emirates direct

Emirates lost baggage and missing items

Hi all,

One of the worst experiences that can happen to a passenger of such an reputed airlines like emirates. Last month I had traveled to india from us via dubai. Both my checked-in baggage did not arrive at my destination and it took 2 days for emirates to deliver the baggage. Added to the trauma, one of the baggage was missing a new laptop that I had. The baggage was delivered home in a neatly packed plastic bag with emirates tag on it. When opened, the laptop was missing and a complaint was filed with local emirates office. I had provided proof of purchase and other details. After a week, the irresponsible emirates staff replied that they are not able to help in this regard and sent an apology letter. Is it not the responsibility of the airline to deliver baggage on time and at least with all contents intact?

I don't know if there is any number to call and talk to an agent or write an email to senior officials regarding this.

Please don;t fly with emirates. I have heard about delayed baggage delivery, but this is unacceptable.

Emirates cabin crew's attitude

The attitudes of flight attendants sri lankan mostly, on board emirates ek 818 from ruh to dxb 27th march 2010 and ek 651 from cmb to dxb on the 13th of april 2010. The former wouldn't serve my 10yr old son a glass of juice or water saying it was a short flight, whereas I saw her serve many passengers around me with alcoholic beverages. Maybe they got priority based on skin colour? They were westerners no doubt.

The later when requsted for a blanket and pillow asked me to check an empty seat and get it. Which I did because I needed them. Would she have done the same had I altered my skin colour and had a ""western face"" I wonder? And the former crew member was sri lankan, her name anu.

I flew emirates after a decade and sad to say the service lacks the quality it had back then. It was worthwhile to call it an award winning airline because it was back then. Now it leaves much to be desired.

That was to be my last flight with emirates, qatar air keeps it's name to the hilt as a 5 star air line, where the crew serve you with dedication, good pr, and care irrespective of cast, creed, and origin. Maybe emirates staff should take a leaf or two from qater air, because after reading the numerous types of complaints on emirates I feel they need to change, and change quickly, or it could be the beginning of the end of the mighty emirates.

Agreed. My wife had to deal with the same ordeal. We're never flying Emirates again.

I agree..same thing happened to me and to my friend!

Cabin Crew's Attitude is good based on skin colour and Emirates need to do something about that.
Cabin Crew's Attitude is very negative specially with the long distance flights. doesnt worth to pay AED 27, 000 for business class to have a comfortable seat and flight if the attitude is so bad and plane is old! Emirates should use the new boing 777 for long distance flights (16 hourse) and not the old boing 777 LR!
