wrong fuel in pump station/car issues

On July 09 I filled my car at the Ogden Rd gas station here in Calgary. What I thought was premium fuel going into my car was in fact diesel fuel. 48 liters. My car stopped working immediately and I had it towed. My car has not been the same since. My 2010 Subaru Forester XT has spent 4 months (yes 4 months) in a mechanic shop and it still spurts and engine misfires and it's been an absolute nightmare. I am requesting that ESSO pay me out for my car as it's not fully operational, I cannot sell it as it is. I had to go to the media the first time to get the gas station to claim ownership and to pay for the costs of the first repairs to my car.
I think I have had wasted enough time and money and stress and now the accountability should be placed on the company who ruined my vehicle.
I am requesting a response in due course from you. This has caused financial penalties to me as I use my car for work and have had to pay for rentals, lost/canceled vacations, and missed appointments due to no car, or reliability issues from my car since this incident at your gas station.
Once again I am asking for full compensation for my car plus the lost expenses for time loss.

Hi Esso,
I went to the Esso Petrol station Fairprice Store(Bedok North Road) on 10th November 2018. Esso staff Mdm Loo was serving me at 7.52pm, which i bought one Winston Light(long stick model) cigarette pack. After i left the store for less than 10 seconds, i realised that she gave me the wrong version(Winston Red). Therefore i proceed back to the store and requested to change to the Winston Light. However, she told me that company rule stated that once any goods left the store will not be valid for any exchange. Moreover, she did not apologise to me at all. I was shocked and furious at the attitude she was showing me because this is not the first time that she gave me the wrong cigarettes pack.
In the end i left the store with a very unpleasant experience as a few of your staff is taking their own sweet time trying to convince me to accept the fact which i do not think it will cause them any issue.
I sincerely hope that in the future the staff can still serve us with a correct attitude, especially when they known they had made a mistake, not trying to cover up their mistake. We consumers paid for our products and hope to experience good serving attitude.

Pumpkin Esso at the corner of Yale Road and the number 9 Highway Rosedale near Chilliwack.This esso always has a number of pumps that have a sign on them saying, pay inside. One of the pumps has been like that for over a year.This reflects poorly on Esso for sure. If I pull up to a pump and I have to go inside I'll just go to the gas station across the Road. I think the owner of this gas station needs to invest in some proper upkeep of the pumps.

I filled my wife's car with gas and purchased two carwashes. I noticed one carwash discount applied to my transaction. I drove home and brought my car and filled gas. I asked the cashier would I be able to get the discount for the second car wash I purchased earlier. The cashier told me he could not give me a discount or refund the unused car wash in an unpleasant way. I didn't appreciate the attitude and told him I would complain about it. I asked for his name because he didn't wear a name tag but he refused and he said he would ask his manager first. The cashier took his time speaking with his manager in a language other than English or French. While the cash lineup began to grow and I didn't want to hold people to wait, I told the cashier to serve the people in line, I will go get gas and to will come back after my car wash, and I left.
After I filled gas, I was about to get into my car to drive to the car wash, the cashier came running and he gave me two dollars, passed me his phone to speak with his manager. I greeted the manager, who gave me the attitude confrontational tone, and told me '' you were bugging us for two dollars and we gave you''! I told the manager I asked for the cashier's name to express my dissatisfaction to complain, but he refused. What was striking, the manager kept interrupting me, in spite of me requesting to finish my talk and he told me ''I don't care if you want to complain''
I found the attitude of these individuals are not only ill-mannered but didn't respect people had to unnecessarily wait in line patiently during this event.
Esso is one of my family favorite gas stations for the past 26 years. However, last Friday the experience left a sour taste and I am reporting this complaint because it is not acceptable and it doesn't suit Esso's reputation in the marketplace.

First I got gas and then I went to the store to get free Lotto Max Ticket that I won from last Friday draw. I gave the ticket to the cashier who was a male and had a turban. Probably he is from India and a Sikh.
When I gave the tickets for free tickets and he was very rude and was asking me why I went to him instead of going to machine. He was asking the same question again and again. His face was showing severe anger. It seemed to me he has anger issues. I didn't say him anything. Got the free tickets and left the store.
From this experience, I am not going to this Esso gas station anymore. I strongly believe that Esso needs to train these employees to teach manners and customer service. Otherwise, Esso will keep loosing it's customers.
I would be glad if you take necessary steps so that this kind of situation does not occur again.

Every time I go into the Esso gas station on Young Street in Richmond Hill near Elgin Mills I always have a problem with one of the workers there I'm not sure why he still working there, today I went in there at 6:22 PM on October 26 2018 and got to dollar mega dice Instant and won two dollars instantly so he give me the two dollars but give me back the instant ticket instead of giving me the regular ticket for the nightly dryer, now I just looked and I got three numbers which would've got me three dollars but when I went in they told me I was screwed because of that worker he threw out the regular ticket or kept it for himself who knows but never gave it to me and I even asked him when I was there in front of him for the regular ticket he kept telling me the incident one What is the right ticket now I'm out three dollars which is an a lot but it's the principle, I always seem to have a problem with him I go into the gas station for a lot of gas for both my cars all the time and he's the only one I ever have an issue with even when I went and I told him which pump was mine it was for $31 today for my wife's car and he tells me $50 at first and almost charges me that. He should not be working there anymore.

Hi there, I went to get my car washed last week at one of your branches, and I realized that the car wash didnt dry my car at all. I paid for the "luxury car wash" and spent nearly $20.00 just to have this service done and my jeep came out the car wash drenched. So I had to stand outside and hand dry my jeep in the cold myself with a cloth because I had to leave for an appointment and didnt have time to go back through the car wash a second time. So I went inside to explain the matter to the manager who accused me of going home and coming back with my explaination, when the fact of the matter is I was in the parking lot at Esso drying my car off by hand. He then proceeded to saying, next time don't go home and then come back later saying your car wasn't dry. I explained to him that this was not true at all. And he refused to do anything about the situation at first. When I explained to him that I had no time to go through the car wash again, he said okay next time when you come you can go through the car wash again and i told him no, because they next time I come and you're not working the other staff are going to give me a hard time. So I asked for my money back instead and he refused. So he ended up giving me a code for another car wash because I told him I needed to have my car cleaned and washed and dried like I paid for and he gave me the code. The car wash that he gave me was only for a "basic car wash" when I have initially paid for a "luxury car wash" there is a huge difference in price here and I don't think thats fair that I paid a good enough to have my car washed well when the service was delivered poorly and then to only receive a basic car wash in replacement of this service. Then when I asked for my receipt back he refused to give me my receipt back, I had to ask him multiple times for my proof of payment and I feel like I was being treated extremely poorly for someone who was simply trying to explain the fact of the matter and then for things to escalate this way was extremely embarrassing. He was being very loud, snappy, and accused me multiple times of false things. I would like to speak with a manager to have this matter rectified and to receive the proper amount back for the service of the luxury car wash please and thank you. Unbelievable.

Hi I am a senior I prefer going to the Full serve
The gas station on Broadway at Hemlock in Vancouver BC has full serve gas sign.
My son and I went to the full serve for gas this is not the first time I have had a problem.
I was turned away once and always waiting - the reason I go to this gas station it is close to where my handicapped son lives. My son went in the gas station the lady told him you will have to wait five minutes - my son went in again five minutes later and she said you have to wait another five minutes he is on his break. I went in five minutes and she told me you have to wait he is on his break. I told her I was going to contact you now we have been waiting for fifteen minutes - a few minutes later a man came out and said I was in the bathroom - I told him the lady said you were on your break. I told him full serve customers should not have to wait 15 minutes - he said I do not have to give you gas I am doing you a favour - I told him then the full serve sign should be taken down. He then said this is not my job to give you gas.
A few years back when I worked for the Vancouver School Board I used to go to that station always after work and the service was perfect also very friendly people working there now I have a problem - I thought you should know you advertise full service I have to wait 15 minutes plus. Another time I had to leave they told me there is no one on the premises to give you gas.
I now have no choice but to go to another gas station I have never had this problem with full service at another gas station. I suggest that the sign with full service be taken down I will be taking my Jeep to another Full service this is not right treating a good customer like this.

I got a print out ticket that said $30 Euro so I left satisfied that the transaction was ok
I looked at my account and $101 Euro has come out.

racist staff at convenience store
Hello Sir/Madam, I stopped at an Esso Gas station in Nipigon, Ontario, Hwy 11. I pre-paid $70 for my gas. But my tank was full with only $ 58.93. I went back to the cashier, to get my new receit that shows my actual fuel up amount. She was new so she call her boss. She talked to me very rudely. With everyone else she was nice but to me she was rude. I felt it like an act of Rasism.
I wanna complain about that lady at cash. I dont know her name.
Offcourse it wan an act of racism... She even did’nt know that I have pre paid an amount of $70...she just said you have filled a gas of $70 and now you are saying its’ just $58.93, no one took it out your tank..

Writing in to describe a terrible customer experience.
Long time loyal customer I visited the station at 1515 Main St E, Milton at around midnight on Oct 10th. I saw that the pump had a price of 117.7 and the sign said 128.9, puzzled, i buzzed the attendant to clarify and got a mumbled reply, so I went into the store to ask my question.
My question apparently tipped it off to the customer service rep (AFAQ) that he forgot to change the prices on the pumps, and he changed it right in front of me. Even though i was there well before the price increase, and the only reason why I went in was to specifically ask about the price.
He was smirking through our whole encounter, and as I got more upset, the more happy he got. I really think he got a kick out of this whole situation.
It's not about the few bucks, it really is a matter of customer service, and to show a sense of contempt for your customer is simply unacceptable.
Very upset and your brand will not see another dollar of my business unless I get a satisfactory response.

Esso is my number 1 place i gas too and go to for quick services. I live in Timmins ontario amd had to go work in matheson about 45 min-1 hr away from home. I live paycheck to paycheck and had only 5$ on me. -15$ in my bank account. As a community support worker we cannot urinate in clients homes due to their illnesses some have. I went to the esso in matheson ontario to use the restroom. The cashier told me that i needed to purchase something in the store in order to use the washroom. I was shocked at this. Never had i once been told by an employee that we cannot use public restrooms unless we buy something. When i went back inside the store with the key to the washroom to bring it back i took my only last 5$ in order to purchase something i didnt need in order just to use the washroom. I asked the cashier when entering the store if i can ask her something. She said yes. So i told her im from out of town living paycheck to paycheck n i dont really have money to buy something so what you would tell me i cant use the restroom to pee? And she answered well theres two restaurants in town that you can go to. And i replied i only have 5$ if they have the same rules as you do how am I supposed to buy food at a restaurant to eat just to use the washroom. She then replied its our policy. Im shocked and disgusted from the service received from the staff at that esso that im reconsidering even EVER going back to an esso EVER. And its sad to say im even considering never to return to that area to service community clients that need health services cause theres no place for people like i who dont live there with minimal funds to pee. Needless to say i almost felt like putting my pants down in the store and having a pee right there. Guess its a good thing i had 5$.
gas prices falsely advertised lower than pump price
On Oct 6/18, I went to the Esso station on Smith Drive in Armstrong, BC which advertised on the huge overhead sign along the highway entrance that there regular gas was $141.7/liter to entice customers away from the Petro Can across the street which advertises theirs at $141.9. I happened to glance down at the display on the pump before I started, and though very difficult to see because the clear plastic cover is badly crazed & yellowed (an accident or ?) I saw that the price read $141.9 ! I checked the other 2 pumps nearby and all had the same. I guess their game is to post a fake lower price to suck consumers into their station, assuming most won't check further. This is FALSE ADVERTISING and is ILLEGAL. I cancelled the transaction and went to the Petro Can instead. Esso will not get any more of my business!

Several drivers from our fleet have complained that it is station often has no paper to print the receipts at the pump. This is a considerable waste of time for our drivers to have to go inside wait in line behind people buying sundry items and then ask for a receipt. Please communicate with those responsible at this branch to be more attentive to changing the paper receipt rolls.
Sometimes there are 2-3 staff on duty, surely one can attend to this customer obligation.
synergy 5 cents a liter off.
Sept. 30, 2018 I went into an Esso gas station in Ottawa, Canada with a Synergy 5 cents a litre off.
The guy working there was very rude and he wouldn't accept the card.
I talked to the Manager Tuesday and she was very rude and said call Coporate office they will give you a gift card.
I'm almost done with Esso and I will publish the store on Social media if I do not get a response from Corporate office.
As you can see, from my points card, I have been buying all my fuel and lottery tickets at Esso.
I will further discuss this issue when you call me.
I sent an email to Corporate office Sunday and have not yet heard back.

luxury car wash

I was just at the Esso station in Westend Edmonton for a LUXURY car wash. I thought I would just have to clean the inside myself in car wash bay at my condo complex. REALLY! The sides of my vehicle were clean but the front, back and windshield were just as dirty as before the supposed car wash that I paid $15.00 for. I spent an hour cleaning what was supposed to be cleaned by the car wash. Not impressed!

I was at a car wash at Esso and it sprayed water under my car and the engine is now damaged. As I left the station the engine light came on. I immediately called the gas station and the guy was not helpful at all. He told me to wait until his manager comes tomorrow but I have work and cannot wait that long. The engine is in limp mode now and I may need to get a rental vehicle.
