refunding my coupons because the scanner was broke
Saturday 8/11/[protected]:04:43--I went to check-out noticing a sign "CASH ONLY" taped over scanning machine. The cashier informed me that it had been down they were waiting for it to be fixed. Having a FULL buggy, I decided to go to the atm machine close by to get cash. Came back and paid for my items. As I was leaving wondering why my total was $86.19 I realized that all my digital coupons were not included. I went back in store and explained my issue. Cashier said there was no way to refund my coupons due to the fact the scanner was down and I would have to bring everything back in do a full refund and re-buy the items one the following day.
This being a BIG inconvienence: #1-Travel time one way for me is 30mins to the store --#2 Saturday is the only day for the $5.00 coupon--#3 the ATM cost me an extra $5 for the transaction cause it was not my bank #4 some of the coupons I was using expired on this day.
I am requesting a refund please. Please inform me of the status of your decision. I am a regular customer, in which I go this store at the least 3'xs a week.

I went to the family dollar store this morning located at 2165 W High St, Hanover, Oh 43055 as I do everyday. I didn't see the sign on the door saying they wouldn't open until noon because of the remodel and as I was walking to the door a woman said to just go in. The new assistant manager let me know that they wouldn't open until noon. I apologized and walked out the door. I seen her walk out behind (the assistant manager) me and I turned and said you might want to put a sign on the door to let people know. That was when I seen the sign and immediately said on i see the sign now and the assistant manager said know a rude voice the signs right there in big letters! I said you don't have to be rude then she said what did you say (again this was in a rude voice) so I said you don't have to be a smart [censored] i didn't see the sign. I then asked her name because I was going to let Caleb the manager know how she had treated me and she wouldn't tell me, she just got ruder and kept making me feel like I was stupid. I told her she was acting like a [censored] and I would not return until they found a new assistant manager. The last assistant manager had her moments but was not half as rude as this new one.

I went in and bought 2 packs of bar s hot dogs on the price tag it said 1.25 n rang up 3.00 I called n cashier was really nice said for me to go bck in n he would fix it when I got there the manager said he couldn't do anything about it I told him it is false advertisement doin that and told him well then I guess I'll get a lawyer he was very rude unprofessional and forgot that the customer is always right I'm including a pic of the price tag and my receipt I'm a single mother and I need every penny I can get esp when it comes to my food stamps so I'd kindly appericate your giving my situation your attention and a way to rectify this mishapp have a great day

My husband and I were on vacation in Sturgis South Dakota on August 10th. I stopped at the Family Dollar and bought this Tropic Sun sunscreen. we were able to use it twice and the button will no longer push down to use it. Family dollar store #12176 at 4007 Northside Dr Macon, GA - Saturday 8/11/2018 at 1:00pm. Tiawana (said shes the manager) was at the register when I walked up to purchase my items. Clerk had ear buds in & had a personal conversation the entire time she was ringing up my items. She never acknowledged me or made eye contact while talking on her phone about how much she paid for a cup of ice from Nuways for breakfast. I wasn't going to say anything to her even though she was rude. I saw my total (about $26) and handed her a hundred dollar bill & 2 quarters. She got my change out the drawer handed it to me & told me I could grab my receipt. I told her customer service goes a long way & she was rude for talking on her phone & not even speaking. I then told her she didn't even count my change out to me or tell me how much it was. Her response was its not her job to tell me how much the change is its on the receipt. I proceeded to get my bags which she never handed to me & was about to walk out the store when she made the comment "THATS WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU'LL NOW". At that point I turned back around & told her customer service is first when dealing with people. I asked for the manager & she said she was the manager. This young lady was rude & if she's a manager then I'm scared to see how the rest of the employees are. I have never given someone my money & they dont Count it out in front of me or at least tell me how much I'm getting back. Having a personal conversation with a customer in front of you is very poor customer service.

I was in the store and purchased my items for $4.40 cents i paid with 20.00 dollars i just got from my bank account and the young lady gave me $5.60 cents back. Next i replied that i gave you 20 dollars she said i thought you gave me a 10 dollars i said no mama she said it was. Secondly, i said let me see the manager and explain to her what happen and she was nice and gave me my correct change which was $15.60 but in the process i left my items and they said it wasnt in there. I was very dissatisfied with the customers service and i will never shop at that unorganized location again.

I went to three different Family dollars about this product. the Locations was 100 West 95th, Chicago, twice and 6349 South Cottage Grove Chicago. At both of them I tried to get a refund on the product. I was told that Family Dollars I was told that Family Dollar does not do refund on Electronics and that was they policy so I could not get my money back. I do not that that is fair and I think that this policy should be changed for the customers that buy electronics from Family Dollar Stores. My Name is Leon Smith, my number is [protected]. It honestly is a stupid policy, but as long as you have the receipt and the packaging in tact, you should be able to exchange or get store credit

The store is VERY dirty and messy, it's like nobody knows what recovery or cleaning is . There are boxes mounted up on every corner, nothing is in its place. I literally have no words to how disgusting and disorganized the store is. I can't recall one time where the staff has been either nice or helpful which makes the experience even worse. I honestly have no idea the how they pass a DM visit or any really.

I am a former customer of family dollar. I use to shop there at least four times a week. I recently visited a family dollar on Friday August 3rd to get my cleaning supplies. As me and my daughter were walking in the store, one of the employees yelled out at my daughter and said, you are not supposed to be in here, she kept yelling it and me and my daughter was surprised and we were asking her why and what is the problem? The employee would not never tell us, we were wanting an answer. She even told the other cashier not to ring me up if I bought anything I was so surprised how this employee acted. I was so furious at your employee because she humiliated me and my daughter. She finally calls the police on us and I heard her tell the police that my daughter had been banned from there for stealing, which is a fat lie, my daughter has never stole anything. As a matter of fact, my daughter does not even go in that store. When she goes with me to family dollar she usually sits in the car, but this particular day she went in with me because it was hot outside and she had her child with her. She must have her confused with someone else, but the way she talked to us was so uncalled for. She even threatened me when I was leaving, her comment was you know where i stay. The more i think about this incident the angrier I get. This was not the first time I had problems at this store, a couple of weeks ago I purchased a dress and I tried to exchange it for the exact same thing but a bigger size, the same employee would not let me exchange it because I did not have a receipt. The store is located on Norment rd in lumberton NC and the employee name is lynette pierce, I would appreciate it if this matter was taken care of because I really love shopping at family dollar but not this store. I was shopping there bacause it is near my house. Thank you so much

I went to thisfamily dollar because it was closer to my house and as soon as i arrived they put a sign saying "i will open in 10 minutes" i saw employees mopping inside. I understand they were cleaning but i don't understand why they have to close the whole store up. It happens frequently. Some guy parks right infront of the store, he literally drives over the bench to park there( theres no parking spot). They are extremely disrespectful, i put in a complaing to workers there but no actions were taken, infact they were laughing when i tried to explain what the problem was. It's a shame that employees treat they're customers like that. They should take they're job serios which they don't.

Family Dollar in East Toledo, Ohio sucks. The store manager is rude about products out of stock and is always on personal calls on the company phone when we go in there. A cashier has left the register in the middle of a transaction to talk to another employee. Lines to the back of the store and 1 register open at all times when they have 4. This is the 5th complaint against them. They never have carts available. Shelves are normally empty. We have started to boycott this store and company. I would rather walk to dollar general then go to a company who cant keep employees or have rude employees and a messy store. This is the second family dollar store that i have had issues at. They have had at least 5 store managers in 5 years.

I went into your Mt Hope Ave store on my lunch 8/6/18. I picked up my items and proceeded to wait in line behind a Caucasian lady. The Rep or manager was a black guy with dress he ignored the fact that I was standing in line never did he say he ad going on break the lady he was talking too said that I was waiting on him as he went in and out from behind counter he then went on to say he was on break and I had to go in other line. My daughter walked into the school with her bag, the employee came to her face and started telling her rudely to check in her bag and telling her who knows what people like you carry in these bags and it's a stupid bag, and a whole bunch of other things. Just cursing at her out of now where because she was wearing a hijab, she felt humiliated in front of all the customers and just left the store. When we complained he came out yelling at us too. Told us he had no time to baby customers.

I visited the Family dollar located at 19650 NW. 27th Ave. As I walked into the store I noticed that it felt like the heat was on. As I walked further into the store I found it very hard to breathe. There was someone in the store coughing really badly I'm assuming because it was so hard to breathe. As I was waiting in line I told the cashier that I felt as if though I would have an asthma attack because it was really stuffy in here. I asked the cashier if the manager knew that the AC was broken. He replied "yes it's been broken for two weeks and she said that there's nothing that she can do about it."
Those workers along with the customers are going to get sick. The germs are lingering and multiplying in the heat. I will be reporting this to the proper department.

I was shopping in my local Family Dollar store and happened to see a flat of water. I grabbed a few more items along with the flat of water and proceeded to the check out. The employee rang up my items and when the water rang up as $24, I asked why it was so much. He said they were supposed to be sold individually. Why was it still in a flat? I mentioned that maybe the employees needed to do a better job at arranging their products because it was a waste of my time to haul all that water to the front when it should have been stocked properly. He refused to sell me my remaining items and told me to leave the store. Really Family Dollar? Is that really how you want to treat your customers. I asked for his name but he refused to give it to me, said I should have read his name tag and walked away. I am absolutely disgusted with the way he treated me. How can a company allow an employee to treat their customers like this?

The female store manager at the Diamondhead MS location is very unprofessional. I visit this location at least once a day. Every time I visit I have heard her bashing other employees and customers. During my last visit she was complaining about an applicant BY HIS NAME, telling another employee how she would NEVER hire him. I personally know his family. This woman is TERRIBLE. She is also VERY RUDE every time she checks me out. She had 4 employees there at one time. She had one register open with a line wrapping around the counters and displays. The lady in line in front of me walked out. This location has lost ALL MY BUSINESS. The previous manager was WONDERFUL. She worked hard. And always treated everyone with respect. This new manager came from a dollar general in the back of my neighborhood. I will now be giving all my business to dollar general. And believe me when I say I spend 100s$ a week. I have tried to tolerate this problem, however when I heard her bashing someone I personally knew that WAS IT.

I visited the family dollar store on Thursday August 1, 2018. The store security person followed me around the store. Unbeknown to me that it was security. At times she blocked my path. As I headed for check out she was again in my path. I was not feeling well so I laughed at her hostile additude. She called me nuts. I remembered another item that I had to get and I, ignoring her, headed for the section that housed clothing. Again she crossed my path. Again she called me nuts. I became afraid when she said "you still have to leave the store and I will kick your [censored] outside".i was glad I had my phone as I contemplated calling the police. I approached the counter and she, for the third time, called me nuts. I asked the cashier for the manager and was told the manager came in early morning and I would need to come back. I asked her if I could leave a message for the manager. She told me that she could not give me the managers cell number. Off handedly she said that the assistant manager was in. I asked to speak to this person. By this time the security person was blocking the entrance door. I advised the assistant manager that I wanted to file a complaint and that I was considering calling the police. The assistant manager asked me who I wanted to file a complaint against and I pointed to this girl who was half in and half out the door on her cell phone. I motioned that I wanted to file a complaint against this person. She told me that she would inform the manager. I told her that it was wrong that I had been harassed by this person and that I seriously felt threatened and wanted to call the police. The girl then stepped away from the door and started to the back of the store. She said, loudly, "I was just doing my job". This is the first time I have ever experienced anything so frightening in my life.
I contacted corporate and left a detailed description about this incident. No one has called me to date.

On Monday July 23rd 2018, I went to purchase a few items at my local Family Dollar Store located @ 117-10 Guy R Brewer Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11434. A sign was on the cold beverage frigerator indicating that lips Lipton Brisk 16 oz bottle Ice-T, was $0.99. Once at the register the clerk informed me that it was not 99 cent. I told her there was a sign that said it was. Ivan said okay then just return it because I was not paying $1.75, when the sign said .99 cents. The clerk then proceeded to call for the manager. Don't know where she was but it took her about 15 minutes to come to the register. Once there I explained to her that there was a sign on the cold beverage refrigerator. The manager was very cold and unfriendly and said to me there's no sign. Another employee in the store I am man walked over to the refrigerator and said yes there is a sign there . I then suggested to the manager that the sign be removed because you're going to have more conflict with other customers over the same situation . The manager mumbled something under her breath rolled her eyes and walked away . I personally shop at Family Dollar at least 3 to 4 times a week and so does my staff . I manage several residence that occupy the physical and the handicapped . I was extremely discouraged by her behavior . She is supposed to be an example to the staff that she manages by being professional, courteous and kind to all that enter that establishment.
I was told i could no longer open carry wear my firearm in the store by the family dollar employee
I was told that I could no longer wear my firearm inside the Family Dollar Store in Beulaville North Carolina because the employee or manager I'm not sure told me they did not like it they instructed me to either not wear it in the store any longer open carry which is legal in my state or conceal it which is actually illegal in my state without a permit I have worn my firearm in this door several times before and I have never been told this I would like some clarification on this matter
