Harbor Freight Tools scam

I was sent an email from Harbor freight saying because I am a loyal customer that they want to give me a combo tool set just for taking their survey, I took their survey and was told that I would need to pay for shipping in order to receive it. I paid shipping and then was told that I was entered in a drawing to (win )the tools WTF?. several days later I found a charge on my bank acct. unfamiliar to me and turns out its these aholes and their charging 60 dollars for some BS membership that they had sign me into. let me say fkuHARBORFREIGHT

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Tools Review: Poor Quality, No Parts, and TeleCheck Issues

Harbor Freight Tools is a store that I have had some negative experiences with. I am not sure if I will shop there again in the future. I have found that many of the tools and equipment that they sell are made in China. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but I have found that the quality of these products is not very good. In fact, most of the tools and equipment that I have purchased from Harbor Freight have not lasted much longer than 90 days, which is the length of their usual warranty.

Another issue that I have had with Harbor Freight is that they do not carry parts for the tools and equipment that they sell. This can be a real problem if something breaks or needs to be repaired. For example, I purchased a 150 lbs. psi Central Pneumatic compressor from Harbor Freight a little over a year ago. Unfortunately, the switch went out on it. I was disappointed to find out that Harbor Freight did not carry the parts that I needed to repair it. I ended up having to replace the switch with a part that I found on Amazon. After I got it working again, the valves inside the compressor motor went out. I was frustrated that I had to throw it away and buy a new one from Home Depot or Lowes.

Another issue that I have had with Harbor Freight is that they use TeleCheck, which is a company that verifies checks. I have had problems with TeleCheck rejecting checks that I have written to Harbor Freight in Bend, OR. They have told me that I do not have enough check writing experience, even though I am 70 years old and have been writing checks for over 50 years. I have a credit rating of 810, so I do not understand why TeleCheck is rejecting my checks. I think that TeleCheck is a joke and I do not like that Harbor Freight uses them.

Overall, I would say that Harbor Freight is not a very reputable business. I would recommend that you spend your money at a different store, such as Home Depot or Lowes. These stores have better quality products and better customer service.

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Tools: Quality Merchandise and Top-Notch Staff

Hey there folks,

I just wanted to give a shoutout to Harbor Freight Tools for being an awesome store. I've been shopping there for a while now and I gotta say, the staff and inventory are top-notch. You can always count on getting quality merchandise at a reasonable cost.

One of the employees, Corey Noonan, has been especially helpful to me. He's always patient and explains things in a way that's easy to understand. Whenever I have a question, he's quick to respond and always has a positive attitude. He's never made me feel like I'm a bother, and I appreciate that.

Overall, I think Corey is a great asset to the team at Harbor Freight. He's always willing to go above and beyond to make sure customers are satisfied. I know I'll be coming back to this store for all my future purchases, and I hope Corey will be there to help me out.

Harbor Freight Tools Poor Customer Service at Harbor Freight Tools: Refusal to Honor Coupon from Phone

I recently visited Harbor Freight Tools with my neighbor who is disabled and unable to drive. He was able to purchase two items using a 20% coupon from his phone. When it was my turn to make a purchase, I also attempted to use the 20% coupon from my phone. However, two of the cashiers, Renee and Hailey, were talking to each other and refused to honor the coupon from my phone.

I explained to the cashier that I had received the coupon via email and had it on my phone, but she still refused to honor it. She asked for my phone number, which I provided twice, but she claimed that it was "not found" or "not in the system." This was frustrating because I have shopped at Harbor Freight multiple times and have always received a confirmation of my purchase via my phone email.

The cashier then asked for my email address, which I refused to provide because I have never been asked for it during my previous purchases at Harbor Freight. The clerk named Renee was walking around with an attitude as if she owned the place. It was disappointing to see such rudeness from the cashiers, especially during a long weekend like the 4th of July when a 20% coupon should attract a lot of customers.

When I walked into the store on Friday, July 1st, the place was dead and empty, unlike the long lines of customers that used to be there. I think Harbor Freight should monitor these cashiers and ensure that those with rude attitudes are not working for them. This was the first time I encountered such rudeness at Harbor Freight, and I hope it will be the last.

In conclusion, I think that a little bit of kindness goes a long way. Harbor Freight has nothing to lose by treating their customers with respect and honoring their coupons. I hope that my experience will help them improve their customer service and make their customers feel valued.

Harbor Freight Tools Disappointing Experience with Harbor Freight Tools: Poor Customer Service and Shipping Issues

So, I recently made my first purchase from Harbor Freight Tools and I must say, it was not a pleasant experience. I ordered three items from their website and was charged immediately. However, I never received any email regarding the shipment of my order. I decided to check my online account to track my order, but it took me a while to find the tracking link. When I finally clicked on the link, it redirected me to FedEx's website, but there was no tracking history available. I waited for 48 hours and tried again, but still no status update. As someone who has been running an e-commerce business for fifteen years, I knew something was not right.

I decided to call their customer service, and after waiting for sixteen minutes on hold, I finally got through to a representative. He told me that the label was automatically generated and that their records indicated that my order had shipped. However, he was unable to provide any insight into why the tracking information was not working. He simply blamed FedEx and said that it was their fault due to the holiday season rush. He advised me to wait for several business days and hope that my items would show up. I found this completely absurd and frustrating.

I understand that Harbor Freight Tools is known for offering inexpensive yet quality products, but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think it's worth sacrificing quality customer service for cheap products. I will not be purchasing anything from this company again, and I would not recommend it to anyone else. It's important to have a reliable and efficient customer service team, especially when it comes to online shopping.

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Security System Review: Mixed Feelings and Disappointing Customer Service

I recently purchased the Harbor Freight eight channel security system and I have mixed feelings about it. At some point, the system lost video and I had to call Technical support for assistance. They suggested that my hard drive needed to be replaced, so I decided to upgrade it to a 2 TB instead of the standard 1 TB. However, after replacing the hard drive, I found out that the problem was actually in the power cord. I replaced the power cord and the unit was up and running again.

However, that night I noticed that the night vision wasn't working. I called technical support again and they went through the manual with me, but couldn't resolve the issue. The technician suggested that I take it to a repair facility. I waited several days and called back hoping to get someone who could help me, but unfortunately, the next technician was even worse than the first. He repeatedly told me that if there was a light shining in the lens, it would not allow the inferred to engage. I must have told him sixty times that whatever was shining on those four cameras had been shining on them for four years. He asked if it was configured and set up for motion, but I told him that neither of those things had anything to do with the issue. He told me that he's not in my home so he doesn't know what the problem is. After that statement, I simply said that I don't need a technician to guess what the problem is, I can do that myself. I am now frustrated and still have no solution.

Overall, I am disappointed with the technical support I received from Harbor Freight. While the security system itself seems to be of decent quality, the customer service experience was lacking. It took multiple calls and several days to get any sort of assistance, and even then, the technicians were not very helpful. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a security system if you value good customer service.

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight's Poor Customer Service: A Disappointing Experience for a Loyal Customer

My name is Ken and I'm a buyer and seller of various items to raise funds for my lung transplant. I purchased a 10x17' portable garage from Harbor Freight in Jacksonville, NC about a year and a half ago. I use it to store all my sales items and it has been a great help to me. However, recently I had an issue with the garage and contacted Harbor Freight to see if they could help me out.

I spoke to a supervisor on May 31, 2020 and was told that I could bring the garage back and they would exchange it for a new one. I had purchased a 2-year warranty for the garage, so I was relieved to hear this. I took the garage down and brought it back to the store, only to find out that they didn't have another one in stock. This was frustrating, especially since I had paid $50 for the warranty.

I was told to call back the following day, which I did. However, they still didn't have the garage in stock. They said they were getting a truck that evening, but it didn't arrive. I called back on Friday, June 5th and spoke to a manager. She was not very helpful and seemed to be annoyed with me. She told me that they didn't know when they would get more garages in stock and that they didn't have any control over what the company sent them. She did refund my purchase price, but not the warranty payment.

Now, I have all my lung transplant fund furniture on the floor, which is not ideal. I had built a makeshift shelter inside the garage with a tarp over it, but it's not as secure as the garage. I'm on 8 liters of oxygen 24/7, so this has been a real inconvenience for me. To make matters worse, they won't be getting another truck until June 12th.

I have been a loyal customer of Harbor Freight for over 30 years, since I lived in California. However, the way they have treated me in this situation is unacceptable. I feel like they don't care about their customers and are only interested in making a profit. I'm very disappointed and will be telling everyone I know about my experience. I want the public to know how poorly Harbor Freight has treated me and my lung transplant fund objects. Thank you for ruining my day, Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight Tools Unprofessional Manager and Poor Customer Service at Harbor Freight Tools in Bellingham, WA

I recently had a negative experience at the Harbor Freight Tools store in Bellingham, Wa. Unfortunately, the manager I encountered was rude and argumentative, with no customer service skills whatsoever. I purchased an item at 2:00pm and returned it unused at 8:30am the next morning. However, the manager could not handle me telling her not to speak to me the way she was because I said the restocking fee was ridiculous, as it hadn't even been 24 hours. She said rules are rules, which I hadn't been told, so, to be fair, they didn't steal my money for the restocking fee. But the conversation escalated because she continued making negative remarks that I responded to. This resulted in her telling me to leave multiple times, and I don't care so much about being disrespected at a business for expressing my opinion.

She then told me I was banned from the store when I asked to speak to the manager, as I didn't know she was. She was clearly emotional and unequipped to deal with an unhappy customer. To make matters worse, she allowed a male customer, who came into the store after me, to harass and accost me. He didn't know what was going on and came to the checkout line about halfway into this conversation between the manager and me, and he had absolutely nothing to do with my transaction. She did not finish my transaction by returning my money but left me standing there to check him out and commiserate with him on a different register.

When she came out to the parking lot to help this man load his truck by the front entrance to the store, she again told me to leave when I was telling him to mind his own business. He called me the 'C' word. I am a 71-year-old woman, and this is simply inexcusable. It was a gross experience, which this manager encouraged and tolerated. I'd give a zero if I could and will not be back. A skilled, knowledgeable manager would have known how to de-escalate the situation.

In conclusion, I was disappointed with my experience at Harbor Freight Tools. The manager's behavior was unacceptable, and I hope that the company takes steps to ensure that their employees are trained in customer service and conflict resolution. I would not recommend this store to anyone, and I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Tools Review: Missing Items, No Response, Possible Cover-Up

Harbor Freight Tools is a company that I have had some issues with recently. I ordered several items from them, but unfortunately, some of the items never arrived, and some items that I never ordered were shipped to me. All of these issues were from one particular warehouse. I have been trying to get in touch with Harbor Freight for 11 days now, but I have yet to receive any response from them.

Two items that I ordered were missing from the Dillon, SC warehouse. I know this because the label was created, but FedEx never received the box. Additionally, the same warehouse neglected to include all the items in a different shipment, and on a third shipment, they included several packages of zip ties that I never ordered.

I have contacted customer service several times by phone and email, but I have not received any response. I even reached out to their social media department via Facebook, but still no response. I had to call the Dillon, SC warehouse myself because customer service refused to do anything at all.

It seems like Harbor Freight is trying to cover up these issues because they have refused to address any of them for 11 days. They charged me for an Air Impact Wrench and an Air Ratchet, but both mysteriously disappeared from the shipping dock, and they refuse to fulfill the order. Additionally, a missing item, Duct Tape, was supposed to be included with the Air Oil, but it was not. Finally, several packages of Zip Ties arrived from Dillon SC without me ordering them at all.

I have had to open an investigation with FedEx, and I have to wait for a billing cycle to open up Fraud/Theft investigations with my Credit Card Company. It is frustrating that Harbor Freight has not addressed any of these issues, and I seriously think they are going out of business and just don't care about the consequences that other companies avoid like the plague.

Harbor Freight Tools Poor Customer Service: My Experience with Harbor Freight Tools Transaction and Amount Charged

I had high hopes for Harbor Freight Tools when I first walked into their store in Jefferson City, MO. But unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. On my very first visit, I found three items that I thought were on sale, but when I got to the register, I realized that the prices were regular. The display was facing the clerk and not easily visible to customers, which made it difficult for me to see the prices. When I asked the clerk about the sale, she told me that it was an in-store promotion and not advertised. This was strange to me, but I decided to go ahead with the purchase.

When I inserted my credit card, the display showed approved, but when I signed and entered done, the computer froze and nothing would work. The manager had to reboot the computer, and my transaction did not reappear. When I asked for a refund or cancellation of my purchase, the manager was uninterested and appeared not to care. He told me to wait 2-3 days and see if the charge hits my card, and if it did, to come back and he would take care of it. I was not happy with this response, as I had no proof of the transaction.

The manager's attitude was terrible, and I felt like I had made an enemy of him. I was furious and decided to discourage anyone I met from visiting the store or buying anything from them. I even sent out negative reviews on various retail customer review sites and to the city chamber of commerce. I was determined to let everyone know about my terrible experience.

When the cancelled purchase was finally posted to my credit card, I contacted an assistant manager by phone. He advised me that the store manager was not on duty that day and took my information. He said he would contact the accounting office and see if they would make an adjustment. However, I did not receive any response from them.

When I called back, Mr. Kyle informed me that it would take 2-3 weeks to credit my account. This was unacceptable, and I felt like they were not taking my concerns seriously. I would never shop or even go into a Harbor Freight store again. Their customer service is terrible, and I would expect this is typical of all their stores. I would advise anyone to stay away from them.

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Tools Online Order Review: Sale Item Back-Ordered, Delayed Shipping, and Manual Typos

I was on the hunt for a MIG welder to work on my antique car when I stumbled upon a sale at Harbor Freight Tools. Their website listed a Flux 125 welder by Chicago for $89.00 dollars, which I thought was a great deal. I had previously purchased an air compressor and vacuum pump from their store at sale prices and was satisfied with their service. However, I had never bought from them online before because past purchase items found on Harbor's website were always available at one of their stores. When I contacted their representative (after a 10 minute wait), I was told that this item had to be ordered online to get the sale price. The best sale price I could get at their store was $114.95, so I decided to order online.

There were two warehouse locations I could choose from, California or New York. I picked California because I'm closer and placed my order on Thursday, March 14th. During the conversation, I was told that I would have to pay California sales tax in addition to the shipping charges, even though I'm not a resident. This set off a red flag because the California law based on the Supreme Court's decision South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. wasn't to go into effect until April 1st, 2019. I was told that HF had to collect this tax by law, which struck me as somewhat odd because sales taxes of this nature have always required the physical presence of the purchaser. However, CA law stipulates that businesses that were "engaged in business" (i.e., have nexus [over $100,000 in gross sales]) in California prior to April 1, 2019, could be held liable for taxes owed on those sales. Socialism costs money. Now by the time you add 7.25% CA sales tax along with shipping to the $89.00 sale item, you owe $105.81, but still better than HF's store sale price of $114.99 plus 9.6% KS sales tax.

I was told by the Harbor Freight representative that I would receive a confirmation email on my order and another one when the item shipped. The confirmation email arrived promptly on the 15th of March, but still no shipping notice by March 19th. Since delivery is promised in 5 to 7 business days from order placement, I wanted to be sure it was shipped the following week.

I called the HF representative on Tuesday the nineteenth (another 10 minute wait) to inquire as to why they hadn't sent me a shipment notice. I was told that the item was shipped on Monday the eighteenth and that I would receive it by Friday, March 22nd.

The item was coming by FEDEX, which has been very reliable in past experience compared to UPS, but did not show up on Friday the 22nd as I was told.

I discovered that Harbor Freight didn't charge for the item until the day after the item supposedly shipped, which sent up another red flag.

On March 26th, I went to the website to check on the order. To my surprise, the HF system said that the order was complete when I had not received the welder. I again contacted the HF representative to find out why the system was claiming the order was done.

After another 10 minute wait, I was connected to a young lady in the customer assistance group named Aurora. I asked her why I had never gotten an email indicating that the item was shipped when the previous customer representative indicated that it was shipped on 3/18.

At first, Aurora told me that my card had not been charged for the item, but I was in my bank account at the time telling her that the charge was clearly listed. She put me on hold for a few minutes to do some checking elsewhere, finally reporting that the item had not been shipped but was back-ordered. So the company is putting items on sale that they don't have, but we know that the individual stores carry the item because I could have gone to any number of Harbor Freight locations and bought a welder for $114.99 plus tax.

So this is another company ruse to get people to order sale items at a bargain price and then take 3 to 6 months to fill them on back-order.

I told the customer representative how unhappy I was with this practice. It was disingenuous to offer an item for sale when you don't have it. So I requested that my order be cancelled and purchase price refunded to my card account. She said this would be done in 24 to 48 hours, so by March 29th, I would have the refund.

Her explanation as to why my order was not filled was that the company didn't realize that the item was out of stock until March 25th! So either we have some pretty stupid and careless people running the operation, the best example of the Peter Principle I've seen yet, or this was a crazy attempt to increase business without inventory.

Aurora offered me a discount coupon, giving me the number over the phone and telling me to contact Chad, whom she called to confirm the arrangement. The coupon brought the flux welder store sale price down to $99.99 plus 9.6% Kansas sales tax, reducing my cost to $109.59, just four dollars more than the original sale price and still a bargain.

On March 28th, the money was returned to my account, and I picked up the welder locally on a verbal coupon. I expect the welder to be the same high-quality equipment that I bought from Harbor Freight in the past.

UPDATE 1/24/2020

In January, I finally got around to setting up my MIG welder. The first problem was I couldn't open the top to get at the wire spool. The spring catch would not compress enough to let me lift the lid. After some fooling around and WD-40, I managed to get it open. Consulting the installation operation manual, I loaded the flux wire spool, threaded it into the feeder, checked it was the 0.03 size, and prepared to load it into the hose. The first surprise I got was the manual said pull off the Nozzle when it simply unscrews. Then the manual says to remove the top so the wire can feed through to that location. But I couldn't unscrew it, so I sent pictures (included) to product support thinking that I had gotten an older model nozzle, so I sent the following email:

Product Support:

I bought Harbor Freight's 125-volt flux wire welder, but I can't get the Contact Tip out. Because the instructions don't match the welding tip. See the attached photographs.

Page 9 of your manual:
11. "Pull the nozzle to remove it" is not only FALSE, but it's a statement NOT an instruction.
12. "Turn the Contact Tip counterclockwise and remove" is FALSE. I can't screw it in either direction, nor can I pull it off.

The nozzle screws off, and I don't know how the Contact Tip comes off because I don't have a pet gorilla to get this off for me. And since it is a brass tip, I'm not going to use vice grips on it. If it needs a wrench or special tool, THEN INDICATE IT IN THE MANUAL!

On 1/22, I got the following response:

Dear Allen,

Thank you for contacting Harbor Freight Tools. User manual had a typo; nozzle should be unscrewed to remove. Contact tip should unscrew counterclockwise and does not require a special tool. No updates to the welder regardless of note in the user manual. If you are unable to remove the contact tip for some reason, please exchange the welder within its warranty.

We greatly appreciate your business.

So not only was there a typo in the manual, but the contact tip holder was not shown. The manual picture shows the tip going directly into the rubber hose, very shoddy.

I wasn't any closer to getting the issue resolved, so I loaded up the unit and went to the local Harbor Freight in my area. Upon arrival, I asked for the manager and showed her the problem in the HF welder manual and how I wasn't able to remove the tip.

She and an assistant opened another welder box and immediately unscrewed the tip with ease, but she couldn't remove the one I had. She went to get pliers and finally got mine loose; it had really been jammed on. The store offered me another welder, but I declined since my tip was now functional and was not damaged. I returned home and finished loading the flux wire perfectly.

Harbor Freight store personnel work hard to take care of their customers, and I have always received good service at their facilities. However

Harbor Freight Tools Poor Customer Service

Went to the Harbor Freight on 110 Western Blvd.1 Jacksonville NC 28546 around 5:30pm on Labor Day. I was there to purchase a 2 Ton Shop Crane $3692.99 and a 2 Ton Capacity Load Leveler $44.99. I told the cashier that I wanted to purchase them today and pick up tomorrow because it was pouring down rain. The manager spoke up to tell me that if I purchased it now, I would have to take it with me. She said that they could sell it from under me. I suggested that she could place it to the side, and I would be back when the store opened at 10:00am. She looked at me and just walked again. Sunday night I received confirmation of Harbor Freight credit card. I'm a Inside Track Club Member which meant I would get a 20% off.

Claimed loss: This would have been a $444.03 sale.

Desired outcome: Better training in Customer Service and ability to this out of the box. Due to this you lost a sale and a customer. I take this opportunity to have you cancel my credit card. J35RWB

The woman is a nasty witch.

Her attitude needs much to be desired.

She told me I needed a new email address because they are prejudice against Protonmail email addresses. The computer does not accept that kind.

Protonmail has been around for many years. So either harbor freight is racist against people using Protonmail or it’s antiquated and needs an updated computer system. 11/14/23. 3:00pm

Harbor Freight Tools MiG welder

Got this as a gift. Never opened the box! When returning it with the person who bought it, they charged a 20% restock fee. They claimed it couldn’t be resold. What kind of story is that? It was never opened. A total ripoff company. They never opened it up to see what it looked like or nothing. How can they legally impose this huge penalty on people who receive as a gift.

Harbor Freight Tools returning damaged item

I purchased a 9-drawer storage cabinet 10/2/23. It came in and the box looked fine but when it was opened, the cabinet was damaged beyond useable. After several emails and calls I received a RMA on 10/12 and told their trucking company would call to set up a pick-up within 5 days. It never happened and I've gone through this same phone procedure several more times with the same answer. Trucker will call within 5 days. Harbor Freight will not ship a replacement till two days after it's pick-up. Now it's been a month, my charge card has been billed, the cabinet is still here taking up space and I see don't have a cabinet. The last call I was told this was going to be a priority for her today and she would call or send an email back to me. This was Monday and today is Thursday no messages at all.

Claimed loss: out $521.05 on my charge card

Desired outcome: Just want this pick-up and a replacement sent ASAP

Harbor Freight Tools Package delivery

I have contacted you on numerous occasions about receiving damaged packages on a continual and consistent basis. As of this writing, I have not received a response from you. Packages are damaged to the point where parts and/or hardware are missing do to the damage to the packaging. Since you have chosen not to respond, I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the BBB in California and Tennessee (state where carrier headquarters are located) and the consumer division of the Attorney General of both states. If I receive a response within the next 48 hours I may reconsider not submitting the documents and forms to the above.

Desired outcome: A response which includes a corrective action to resolve the issue.

Harbor Freight Tools LYNXX Batteries

I have bought a number of lynxx tools from harbor freight over the years. Now I can't buy a battery anywhere - Harbor Freight doesn't carry them. All my Lynxx tools are useless. Where can I get a battery? I am sure this is not the first complaint you have had on this subject. I can't afford to bur Harbor Freight battery operated tools when all of a sudden i can't get the power source any longer. Do I just have to throw them in the trash?

Desired outcome: Get me 2 batteries or get me a replacement - or give me replacement tools that you do provide support for. I have spent thousands at Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight Tools New credit card 10% discount.

On 7/21/2023 i got a new harbor freight credit card for the sole purpose of receiving the 10% discount on the preditor generator priced at approximatly $2500. The store manager (ruston, louisiana store) informed me the discount would be on my statement from card company. It was not. I have reached out by phone and email nothing. I have paid my $2500 bill. I want my 10% discount refunded ($250).

Harbor Freight Tools Employment

Their application process asks your race. The managers seem to use this to keep their store non diverse. They're are 2 HG stores in my area. I shop there often. I've only ever seen Hispanics working there. I'm white so when I call I'm told they are not hiring by the store manager, but they have help wanted ads and signs up everywhere. If you are not Hispanic you will not be hired.

They won't release their EOE reports because they know its true

Harbor Freight Tools False advertising

I have been a "Member" for many years...I finally am tired of the false advertising. I'm supposed to get special "member only pricing deals" Caveat - I can never take an advantage of any member deals as the items are always out of stock or now clearanced (no longer available)! Every store within several hundred miles hasn't been able to get complete 20 ton press kits for nearly a year. The corporate web site claims these items are available in specific stores, yet when the stores are contacted they say no they don't have complete kits and have no idea when they will get parts. I've had it with Harbor Freight pushing memberships that don't offer any real value, product availability is terrible, and when I have contacted HF with regards to items on back order I am greeted with TOO BAD!

Your corporate policies towards customers and building customer loyalty just went down the toilet with me. Forget ever getting any good product recommendations or reviews from me ever again. I'll be cancelling my HF credit card and membership effective 07/19/23.

Harbor Freight Tools Defective remote starter

I returned this device to Harbor Freight in New London CT

The employee told me there is a 20% restocking fee because the package was opened.

My question is how am i supposed to know if the devise works or not without opening it?

Besides a restocking fee is for reselling the item not for defective merchandize.

Since Amazon has most everything i should just shop there but i think the American thing to do is support our local business. I would like a response.

Harbor Freight Tools Poor Customer Service and Disrespectful Behavior at Harbor Freight Tools

I recently visited Harbor Freight Tools and unfortunately had a negative experience. While I have never had any issues with the employees before, this time was different. My family and I entered the store 15 minutes before closing time and were immediately followed and harassed by employee #1. This behavior continued as we shopped, and eventually employee #2 and employee #3 joined in to try and rush us out of the store 5 minutes after closing time.

When it came time to check out, I apologized for keeping them after closing time, but received no response. I apologized again and finally received a short, dismissive "okay" from employee #2 and the lady at the register. This lack of respect and poor customer service left me feeling frustrated and disrespected, especially since my children were also treated rudely.

I am still angry three days later and am considering returning all of the $600+ worth of merchandise I purchased. The lack of integrity and poor customer service on a weekday is unacceptable. I will not be returning to Harbor Freight Tools, except to return my merchandise.

In comparison, Home Depot and Menards have much better customer service and tact. I would recommend shopping at those stores instead. Overall, my experience at Harbor Freight Tools was disappointing and I hope that they can improve their customer service in the future.

Harbor Freight Tools Unfriendly Workers and Poor Policies: My Experience with Harbor Freight Tools

Harbor Freight Tools is a store that sells a variety of tools at affordable prices. However, my experience with the workers at this store has not been the best. They always seem unhappy and unfriendly, and they don't seem to want to help anyone. Their main goal seems to be to sell as much of their cheap tools as possible and use your information to send you coupons that never change.

Another issue I have with Harbor Freight is that they often don't have the tool I'm looking for in stock. I've had to wait weeks, and sometimes even months, to get the tool I need. Despite this, they constantly send me emails about great deals that are not so great because they all have the same 90-day warranty that they won't honor. If you return a tool, they charge you a restocking fee, which is frustrating.

What's even worse is that Harbor Freight sometimes re-boxes returned and defective tools and then resells them. I've had this happen to me three times already, and it's frustrating to have to return a tool that I thought was new, only to find out that it was actually defective and had been re-boxed. The store then charges a restocking fee for returning the defective item.

Recently, I checked my box before leaving the store and found that the tool I had purchased was defective. I turned right back around and had the manager give me another item. I'm at the point where I want to return all the tools that are still under the 90-day warranty and wash my hands of this store.

Overall, I would not recommend Harbor Freight Tools. While their prices may be affordable, their customer service and policies leave a lot to be desired.

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Tools: Low Prices, Low Quality, Terrible Customer Service

Harbor Freight Tools, or as some may call it, Harbor Junk Tools, is a company that doesn't seem to care much about its customers. I recently purchased an air compressor from them, along with an extended warranty. However, after just a year of use, the air compressor broke down and needed to be exchanged. Unfortunately, Harbor Junk Tools no longer had the same model available, so I was forced to pay over $200 for a new one - more than what I had paid for the extended warranty! This isn't the first time this has happened to me with Harbor Junk Tools, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

It seems like Harbor Junk Tools wants customers to buy their extended warranties, knowing that they only keep their products for a short time. This way, customers will always have to pay more out of pocket when exchanging a product with the extended warranty. It's all about what they can get from customers, instead of treating them right.

If you want to save money and time, I suggest shopping at Home Depot or Lowe's instead. They have a better selection of tools and equipment, and they actually care about their customers. I will never purchase anything from Harbor Junk Tools again, and I suggest you don't either. They may have low prices, but that's because they offer low-quality products and terrible customer service. That's why they only deserve a 1 1/2 star rating.

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Tools: Slow Shipping and Refunds, Frustrating Customer Service

I recently made an order on harborfreight.com for a few small items that could easily fit in my hand. However, after waiting for eight days, I still had not received any shipping updates or my items. Frustrated, I decided to call customer service to inquire about my order status. Unfortunately, I had to wait for five minutes before someone finally picked up the phone.

When the representative finally answered, I asked about my order and she informed me that it had been packed on the 8th, shipped on the 9th, and was currently in transit. I called on the 15th around 5:00pm and asked when I could expect my items to arrive. She told me that they were in Mississippi and should be delivered within the next 24 to 48 hours.

However, I was fed up with waiting and asked to cancel my order and receive a refund. The representative informed me that she couldn't cancel the order since it was already in transit. After some back and forth, she eventually issued a cancellation and refund. However, I was shocked to learn that it would take 14 days to receive my money back. What kind of nonsense is that? They were quick to take my money, but slow to give it back.

To make matters worse, I had no idea which shipping carrier they used. The representative didn't know either, but regardless, it seemed like it would take forever for my items to arrive.

In the future, I would not recommend spending money with Harbor Freight Tools unless you can physically go to the store and purchase the items yourself. It's just not worth the hassle and frustration of waiting for items to arrive or dealing with slow refunds.

Harbor Freight Tools Deceptive Advertising and Inflexible Policies: My Disappointing Experience at Harbor Freight Tools

I used to be a regular customer at Harbor Freight Tools until I had a bad experience trying to take advantage of their advertised 10%-30% off every item in the store sale. I was excited to save some money and decided to purchase $500 worth of tools either online or by phone during the sale with a pickup one day after the sale ended. However, I soon found out that this was a fraudulent and deceptive advertising tactic.

Living a distance away from the store, I thought it would be convenient to purchase the items online or by phone. But when I visited the store without my coupons, they refused to honor the sale. I then called the store with my coupons in hand, but the manager told me that it was "corporate" policy not to sell anything over the phone and suggested that I purchase it online instead. However, when I asked if I could purchase online and pick it up in their store the following day, he said no.

I was disappointed and frustrated with the store's inflexible policies. I even mentioned that their competitor, Northern Tool, allows customers to purchase online and pick up in-store, but the store manager replied very arrogantly, "Well maybe you should get your tools at Northern Tool." This kind of attitude made me feel like they didn't value my business at all.

I eventually decided to take my business elsewhere and purchased my tools at Northern Tool instead. I felt like Harbor Freight Tools treated me poorly and didn't deserve my loyalty. I wouldn't be surprised if the store was owned by some money-grubbing foreigners who only care about making a profit.

Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience at Harbor Freight Tools and have no plans to ever purchase anything there again. Their deceptive advertising and inflexible policies left a bad taste in my mouth, and I would caution others to be wary of doing business with them.

Harbor Freight Tools Harbor Freight Power Auger Review: Great at First, But Frustratingly Unreliable in the End

I recently purchased a power auger from Harbor Freight Tools for a project I was working on. I used it a few times and it worked great, but then it suddenly stopped working. I tried everything I could think of to get it started again, but it just wouldn't budge. After some investigation, I discovered that the carburetor was bad and was allowing gas to get into the air filter.

I decided to call Harbor Freight's technical support team to see if they could help me out. They were very polite and friendly, but unfortunately, they didn't have any replacement carburetors in stock. This was a part that was used in many of the small gas engines in various tools they sold, but they just didn't have any available at the moment. They suggested that I take the auger back to the store and exchange it for a new one.

So, I went back to the store and explained the situation to the staff there. Unfortunately, they didn't have any replacement carburetors either. They suggested that I try another store that was 60 miles away, but they couldn't guarantee that they would have any in stock either. I was really disappointed because I had already bought their extended guarantee, but it didn't seem to be helping me at all.

In the end, I decided to just get my money back and look for a different tool elsewhere. It was frustrating to have wasted so much time and gas trying to get this tool working again, only to be left with nothing in the end. I wouldn't recommend buying anything from Harbor Freight if you need it to work reliably when you need it. Their customer support was friendly, but ultimately unhelpful, and their stock of replacement parts was lacking.
