Debt collection
This company has collected a bad debt on my behalf and 4 months later will not pass the money on. They started by claiming it was a legal requirement to wait 56 days. Still waiting for my £3, 000 to arrive four months later!
See email below

Morning james,
I can’t give you a specific date as I don’t work in accounts,
However I do know we have to keep hold of it for 56 days (It used to be 28 days) to avoid any potential claw backs
We have had cases in the past where we have paid out on the 29th day and on the 30th day the payment has been reversed by the debtor
I will however speak with accounts for you when they come in on monday
Kind regards
Andrew bland

Debt collection
I have started to use Final Demand to collect old debts. They managed to collect and never remitted anything to me. I phoned again and again to chase and they repeatedly said the Director is away from the office! I have read a similar review here, and wished I had read it before thinking of using them!
The company currently have a county court judgement for non payment to creditors so please DO NOT USE THEM! THEY ARE A CON! There are plenty of others around.
They also insisted on £500+vat = £600 just to open an account with them! So this is water down the drains for doing nothing!
What a shocking company!
I also phoned Financial Ombudsman but they weren't of much help either!
Debt collectors
This company has shocking customer service and appear to run with just one accountant named "Alex" who is only in a few half days a week that seem to change week on week (well when i call on a day I'm told he works he no longer works those days apparently)
Final Demand have been collecting debt on our behalf and successfully getting money in. The problem lies when it comes time to pay us. It has now been 13 months since we last received a payment despite two accounts paying their balance over in full. Our last payment was wrong any way and the query over that still hasn't been resolved. Using fake figures to illustrate my point:
Somehow £100 less commission of £30.00 and VAT of £6.00 means a payment of £50.00 to us rather than £64.00
When i call to inquire about payment I'm given a range of excuses. Today's was "the director has been off for 4 weeks" ... doesn't excuse the other 12 months
I'm getting pretty sick of this company and its frustrating that they hold a large chunk of our debt
This is disgraceful but seems to be the norm with this lot!
They currently have 3 ccj's against them worth over £6k and I know that they have had more over the years but must just clear them and get them removed or something. Their company report also shows that a large sum of money (over £110k) was deducted late 2015 for shareholders funds.. So who are the shareholders? Just Mr Colin McShane! What a joke this guy is! Absolute con man!
Maybe you should instruct your other debt recovery company to recover the funds from Final Demand?
Like you I was forced to go to another debt recovery company and find them excellent to work with. Very professional and easy to talk to.
Is Final Demand Legit?
Final Demand earns a trustworthiness rating of 82%
Highly reliable. Use their services with confidence, yet trust but verify.
We found clear and detailed contact information for Final Demand. The company provides a physical address, phone number, and email, as well as 3 social media accounts. This demonstrates a commitment to customer service and transparency, which is a positive sign for building trust with customers.
However ComplaintsBoard has detected that:

Many customers have experienced long wait times for responses or resolutions, unhelpful or inaccurate answers to their questions, and a lack of follow-up or updates on the status of their issues.

- The website belonging to Final Demand has a low number of visitors, which could be a red flag for users. However, it's important to conduct additional research to fully evaluate the website's legitimacy and trustworthiness.
Debt collector
Please Please, someone take this complaint serious.
Our family run company signed up with the above debt collectors after them ringing us ten times a day. We paid our life time fee of £1554.00 on 6th February 2013. Biggest mistake we have ever done.
I have tried so hard to bring to the attention that the above company are liars and they never return your call or reply email and you will not get your owed money paid to you. I believe they are collecting at least two of our debts monies and they are not sending it to us. We have also paid the £960.00 to issue a stat demand on a guarantor.
We have received two payments and then nothing for over 12 months.
This company has no customer service or any duty of care to their clients.
It is unjustified how they treat their customers. I will not rest until this company have been publicised to anyone thinking of using them.
I am in the process of building up a case against Final Demand and all there staff who are involved in this disgraceful manner of how they have treated us.
Collection of Debt
I was contacted and signed up to Final demand departing with £1000 for registration to become a lif longer customer. The three debts I forwarded did not come to anything at all. I could not speak to the sales account person I signed up with and I was fobbed off with excuses when ernquirying about progress of the debt collection of the 3 accounts. They I sure survive on the sign up fee and do not collect any debts despite their claims. The customer account person allocated to our company was supposed to be legal trained but did not have a clue, full of false promises. Aviod this company at all costs they also give the debt collection industry a bad name and make you cautious signing yup with anyone else
debt collection
I was contacted by these unprofessional waste of time "debt Collections company" I foolishly parted with £1000 and had nothing in return. I could not speak to the account manager at all. The designated coordinator seemed confused all the time and not been trained despite being a solicitors clerk or allegedly so! I did not receive a penny from the 3 debts we forwarded to them. I am convinced they take the registration fee and exist this way. Steer clear of this company at all cost, they give the industry a bad name. To finally ad insult to injury they rang up and tried to recruit us a second time, clearly they had no accurate records as we were already a clinet
Con artist company
I have worked for final demand and i can tell you all right now that they will rob you blind. They crave commission of the money you give them and this is why they issue stat demands to everyone so they get boss commission off it. They slag every client off they deal with and they will not pay you back when they say they will. I never known a company like this in my life, the lack of proffesionalism in the offices is disgusting and the manager is the most unprofessional person going! The director robs everyone's money and goes on holiday with it that's why you can never get through to him. Never work for this company and never deal with this company or give them a penny.
Nightmare company
Having posted on here in march I was contacted by Ray Jennings of Final Demand Ltd a couple of days after. He apologised for the poor service and said he would personally sort out my issues. He said it would take 6-8 weeks. I left it in his hands and tried to contact him after 8 weeks. He couldn't take my call so I left a message for him to contact me. Needless to say 4 weeks later and lots of calls he still hasn't contacted me. I am not a competitor trying to discredit them I am a client and I can't make it any clearer DO NOT USE FINAL DEMAND LTD. They take your money and do nothing and are impossible to contact.
i have to say I agree with the person who submitted the last report quick taking your money£595.00 plus vat and do nothing for you I signed up about 4 years ago and have not had 1p back from them all idle promises I have read all the other comments and they seem to use the same line on everybody I would not recommend this firm to anybody your better with the money in your own pocket and forget the debt, I am still trying to get some of my money back but I have had to do it myself through the courts (more money) so forget about this firm .
I foolishly signed up after 'Colin' (I would be surprised if he even exists) told me I had to act immediately as the company owing me £4, 400.00 was in the process of being struck off. He told me he could stop it happening if I paid £595.00 plus VAT which would fund a full and thorough forensic investigation into their affairs and the Directors would have to settle out of their own pockets. I was told i hd to act straight away I have kept recordings of the charmless prat spinning me a yarn. The world will be a better place without lying ### like him. I have since discovered this is complete nonsense and I am compiling evidence which I will submit to the FCA and possibly the police. I feel like such an idiot. I too have kept a log of what their testimonials had to say and it makes for shocking reading. Perhaps we should talk?
From what I understand Ray Jennings is fairly new to FD.
Our complaint was "escalated" to him. Whenever we tried to call him he was never available. The only time he ever made contact was to threaten us with the police after we dared to call through the testimonials and ask 1.) Were they legitimate? 2.) Were they still valid? Can you guess what the majority of people said? Oh, and this is just the start of it...
Debt recovery
I was sold the package from final demand to meet with exactly the same as the rest of the forum. "Steve" must have a book of excuses to use, never there, on the phone, on holiday, half day. When I did get to speak to him (twice) he was full of smooth talking nonsense always going on about the football clubs they worked for, I ask how is it then that you cannot get my small debt back? Never a reason.
The receptionist is rude abusive, and must love just putting you on hold. The in house solicitor was helpful, until he decided to leave! I was asking for help to recover debts, paid my money and got conned... I am now with less. Only than I had to start with, may have just written off the debts and been £600 better off.
They are a rude, deceitful, abusive company, if you have any sense steer well clear of them...
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Although their contract tries to cover them e.g the reference to verbal representation not being able to be relied upon. It wouldn't stand up in Court. The County Court Judges are well acquainted with these scams and are generally sympathetic to the plaintiff. I should have known better but I needed someone to do a job. The first debt that I recovered when I started my business 20 odd years ago was a CCJ to recover the fee from the first agency that I signed up with. It looks as if I might have to do the same again. It is a very pleasant feeling if you win. If you feel that you have half-a-leg to stand on I would urge you to have a go. At least they are less likely to perjure themselves than lie to you over the phone. David Smith, Kidlington, Oxon.
We paid £1194 upfront and are yet to receive an update.
Owed Money
This company took my money up front for a debt owed to me. after 8 months of wasting my time and me recieving 2 x cheques I got a dear John letter stating that they can no longer help. I have evidence that they are still collecting my money but not passing them on. They will not return calls/emails or tweets.
Can anyone offer any advice on how to pursue these people? They are clearly breaking the law somewhere with this, small claims company who know that people will not pursue them as it will cost more money.
Unfortunately the OP does not surprise me one bit.
They have attempted to prey on us as well however we will not take this lying down.
Mike, there is nothing funny about it. I used Final demand and received no service at all. No I do not work for judges demand but do employ them to do my debt collecting now and find them good to work with. I apologise if that offends you for any reason?
Can I ask why you are defensive about this? Do you work for Final Demand? If so, would it not be better to try and reply to the original poster 'Darren Swift' and help him with his problem?
It's funny "Joe Bloggs 007" that you seem to go round posting how great Judges Demand are? Surely you don't work for them do you? Surely your not using Complaints Board to post incorrect information about a company and then direct them to use your company? It all sounds a bit suspicious to me...
This is shocking but unfortunately not surprising with this company after my experience and reading a lot of others.
Surely they cannot collect your money and not pay it to you.? How do you know they are still being paid.? How much are you talking.?
I posted in one of the other posts about this company that I now use another debt collectors called Judges Demand and if you can show them that you have paid another company and are not happy with the service they will do you a good deal. Might be worth lookign them up but if not then I would definately go to a Solicitor or even the police.!
I think you could also complain to the office of fair trades too regarding this. Good luck, !
Poor service ridiculous contact
I have a property of which my tenants absconded and the debt was to be recovered by final demand ltd.
Over 8 months I have had a handful of emails and one phone call. All staff are abusive and in helpful. When I call "Chris Harmer" who is dealing with my request is always on the phone/busy or more than likely just avoiding my calls.
I am owed £2500 of which I have received £84 x 2. Final demand will not even allow me to look at my own account which leads me to believe they in fact have recovered the debt get Re not passing on the money owed to us.
This company is a scam and they will not answer anything you need or give any updates. I have reason to believe they have recovered my debt yet not passed on my money.
Final demand expect to hear from my solicitors.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Similar experience They collected one debt after paying fees and then I have been unable to get payment from them for a recovered debt. After many emails all I have received are promises of payment
tried calling 'Stewart Arnold' and 'S Jackson' who work for them? Nobody knows Stewart Arnold and S Jackson is apparently Steve Jackson (hmmm) and he collects door to door? I wouldn't be surprised if Ray, Colin, John, Stewart and Jackson are all the same person. I am trying to find a way to post audio on here, listen to Colins patter, happy to share
Stewart Arnold. 24 hours? I know you have to be joking. I have been trying to get hold of Ray and John for over a month regarding the complaint I made against Final Demand and am yet to receive any kind of update.
I act on behalf of other parties and wish to add your complaint to my action against this company. I do not know how to contact you direct so have included the following address thefinanloffinaldemand@gmail.com. please drop me a line

Ive waited over two years & still awaiting any response from Final Demand
I've left over 30 messages over a month to speak to them, and my so called account manager still hasn't returned my call.
They take your money with promises of a call to the client as the bank have a charge on them, and they don't want to foreclose, but this never happens and they ask for more money to put them in court.
Response to spiteful comments
I have been a client of Final Demand since August last year. They have asked for me to confirm my thoughts on them in response to a negative thread. My experience is completely at odds with the thread. They have been very helpful in implementing terms and conditions and have been helpful in providing advice as and when required. I haven't had to use them to recover an account as of yet but I will not have any hesitation in asking them to recover debts on our behalf if needed. So far so good, I will of course update if my view changes
How exactly does this make my comment invalid? Are we only allowed to post negative comments on here? If so, I apologise profusely.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
ah good old final demand. Ive had fun collecting debts of them. No final demand are still very much active however as we are a high court enforcement company i cant say to much about them but my only advice is to tell you to stay very much clear clear away from them.
Having signed up to Final Demand and their services, I have now been approached by another company who tell me that Final Demand have ceased trading Anyone eleborate
final demand for 110 pounds from a previous hire ? please explain ? ra number [protected] invoice irgb20265300 poss liverpool ? addressed france ? we are in channel islands je23pd ? asap
does anyone know what has happened to final demand?we paid them for thier services to which they got us our money(so they told us?!)but they have now vanished off off the planet?thanks in advance if anyone can help
We have a letting business and final demand came to us and said they can help us recover our depts, the sales guy gave us all the talk about sending people around to collect the dept, doing searches to find the people, they took an upfront fee and after the chq cleared they have not done anything, when we phone them to complain, they Come up with every excuse in the book, when we asked to speak to a manager he's always in meeting, gone out, will call us back etc etc this has now been on going for over 6 months, they even tried to charge us more money to find a tenant that we had given them the address for and were still living there but apparently they had send someone around but could not find the person, theses lot con artist, and please keep away from them, total thieves
Weird that Final Demand provided you with testimonials. When we rang the ones on their website to see if 1.) They were legitimate? 2.) Still valid? It was only at that point that someone from Final Demand deemed fit to call us. They threatened to call the police. I can see that since we rang their testimonials to check their validity quite a few have been taken down. You all may want to check that your company name, logo and link along with a brief description of "how great they are" hasn't been fraudulently put up there.
Hahaha... How much do you get paid from FD to right these posts... FD are a joke and I would strongly recommend to them to take a look at the guide lines and regulations they should be abiding by before they take on a person who can not be fooled by there underhanded tactics.
Could not diss agree more, this comment was clearly maid at the request for Final Demand and was cleary one of their employees, you don't have to be a rocket scientist just look at the language they have used.
Just reading the comments about FD and giving you my personal thoughts. Some 18 months ago we gained a contract with a north west based commercial property company to fit out a unit. On completion of the the work and passing the invoice due dates we ran into problems collecting the final account. (£100k+) With a bone head and abrupt accounting department, slick solicitors, I was completely out of my depth and sinking. It was then by good fortune that I made contact with Final Demand Limited, they took the details and sallied forth to collect the company funds. They did so with attitude and determination which I commend. This company does what it says, and gets results, issuing a stat demand and starting winding up proceedings. Fortunately, the property company saw sense and paid up. They know what they are about and should not be sullied in this way. When dealing with money collection it is very rare there are instant results and a time factor must be built in to all dealings. Yes there are more cost effect ways of collecting you money, but there bulldog attitude is one you will not find for free. The registration fee is worth ever penny and I would certainly recommend this company. Well done Final Demand Limited, keep on doing it!
guys i have a very successful vehicle wrapping and signage company, and i have used final demand now for the past 3 years and i have to say reading the this site and the comments i can only put together they are revival companies, i have no complaints with regards the sign up fee and taking further action i.e i think they issued a statutory demand, i think that's what it was called. I'm not going to go into details of my clients but this company has saved me thousands and in this day and age, we all need it.
we have used other companies to collect with no success, but i was at my last strew when final demand contacted me. i said no at first but then i asked them to provide me with references which they are more than happy to do so, i contacted them and they all had good words to say about them. nothing negative at all. so i signed up, and 3 years later as stated I'm very happy.
so key to this is ask for references
Problem Free
I have to say I have been dealing with Final Demand for many years now and had no issues at all to complain about. Yes sometimes not quickest at returning an odd call but I realise they are dealing with many hundreds of clients, calls and emails on a daily basis so accept it. I have recommended them to numerous others and will continue to do so in the future as I have dealt with other collection agencies and Final Demand are up there with the best.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Mysignworks NW Ltd owned by Matthew Sumner from Liverpool? Coincidence?
OP- You never actually say whether or not Final Demand recovered any debts for you.
mysignworks- You have had a lucky escape. You would do well to look into what the Directors have got up to previously and are up to now.

Bad Service
We singed a contract with Final Demand to aid us with collecting some of our debts.
We were promised a direct phone contact and someone assigned to take care of us.
The first money they collected end of June, has still not been paid to us and the excuse is the Director is on holiday for six weeks and there are no cheque's signed.
The money has been promised six times. Trying to get the 'assigned' representative is impossible as she avoids the calls.
If I ring up and complain loudly they are abusive and arrogant.
Now although we have a contract, they will not deal with us because we did complain.
DO NOT USE THEM
I agree that collecting through a solicitor is the best way. You get the costs up front, know exactly what you are dealing with and don't get ripped off I am seventy years old, my partner is very ill and I am trying to work and look after him as well. Final Demand are bombarding me with calls and I cannot cope any longer
I have now resolved some of the issues with Final Demand, I have enough problems without them threatening me and my Company
Olive Lee
Apologies for the 2 very similar posts.. The first one did not upload for a few days so I thought it had not worked!
Since we used Final Demand some time ago we have always kept an alert on them and they currently have 3 CCJ's against them worth over £6k. A large sum of money (over £110k) also seems to have been taken out of the company for shareholder funds late last year.. The only shareholder is Colin McShane! Shocking!
Just like jonesa223 above I very reluctantly started using another debt recovery company over a year ago called judges demand. I would not have used another debt collector after my experience with final demand but judges demand do not charge anything up front if you can show them that you had a bad experience with someone like final demand. judges demand have been excellent to work with and i would recommend that anyone reading this that has had trouble with final demand or anyone else give them a call.
I am also looking at issuing a group action against final demand and would ask anyone that is owed money by them to send me a private message on here if you would like be involved.
This is disgraceful but seems to be the norm with this lot!
Since I used them I have always kept a company alert on them and they currently have 3 ccj's worth over £6k and I know that they have had more over the years but must just clear them and get them removed or something. Just like Jonesa223 above, I went to another debt collector some time ago called judges demand and find them excellent to work with. easy to contact and talk to. They also collect debts and actually pay me which is quite refreshing but really shouldnt be should it. After final demand i would never have used another debt collector but i wasnt charged any sign up fee due to my bad experience with another debt collector. Give them a try!
I use final demand for a small company which needed to recover substantial amounts of money. According to Final Demand's access portal where you can see the state of each debtor they do appear to be receiving money regularly ... getting the money out of them is the problem. Its been over a year since we last received any of the money owing to us! "Alex" in accounts never seems to be there and used "our director has been off for 4 weeks" as an excuse (somehow). What about the other 11 months?
Since then we have started using another debt collector who are paying us regularly and are actually polite when you speak to them on the phone.
I complained too! I sent you two letters recorded delivery both of which got signed for by your office but surprise surprise no one bothered acknowledging or replying to them. Shocking customer service. I also tried to complain to FBS who you said you were members of at the time and they had never heard of you and you also claimed to be members of some other association but when I spoke to them they said you hadn't paid your membership fees so had been kicked out. Both references have now been removed off your website...
Oh I complained believe me. I was told tough luck and that I had signed an agreement which didn't actually promise anything like the sales pitch we were given. We have since chalked it up as an expensive lesson, but it would be nice if other people could learn from it without losing out.
At Final Demand Ltd we strive to provide our clients with the best service possible and uphold our contractual agreements. If you are at all dissatisfied with any aspect of your service, we would prefer you contact us directly, rather than make anonymous unsubstantiated comments which we cannot investigate and resolve. Publishing such comments online with personal details is an infringement of civil liberties.
At Final Demand Ltd, we will do our upmost to attempt to collect any debt that is passed to us, using every legal avenue available to us. Whilst this not the desired outcome, in a limited number of cases though, might be uncollectable for any number of reasons.
All registered clients freely enter into an agreement with our company, but some lose sight of the difficulties encountered by the different circumstance of each debt and the fact that legal proceedings using our solicitors and all and any court fees have to be paid for.
Final Demand Ltd
We fell victim to this scam years ago, I can't believe Final Demand are still pulling it. FD are very good at arranging sales meetings, why not ask fellow business people to set up meetings so you can question the culprits in person? Also PLEASE complete a google review so other people can see the negative score when they search for Final Demand.
After doing some in depth research I have found an address we can reach the sole owner of this company. His name is shown as Colin Gibson McShane and resides at 59 Runnells Lane, Thornton, Liverpool, L231XJ. On street viewer it looks a nice place with decent cars shown on one app. Not surprising seeing they take our money and do nothing at all.
I think we should go and pay them a visit and ask for the money back face to face.
Derek J
Final demand cold called us saying they had an agent living in our area (Ipswich) and if we had any bad debts they could collect.
We had an outstanding debt from a client of £1760.00 which they said would be no problem. Paid a life time fee of £420.00 and supplied all revalent information regarding debtor
Were then told a Penny Barret would be looking after our account, phoned to ask for progress always told Penny in meeting, Penny out of office, always an excuse, would phone back (never did) then out of the blue phoned to say they needed another payment for a statutory demand which we gave to them £200.00. Then nothing, phoned and phoned then told Penny Barret had left the company and some one new would be looking after our account. Still nothing Three years later
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IT IS A SCAM
