I am a State Farm customer who recently had an auto accident with a man insured through First Acceptance Insurance. I was not at fault for the accident. I filed my claim with First Acceptance the day of the accident. Within two weeks, I had received absolutely no useful information from the person assigned to my claim. She was very hateful and rude each time I contacted her. My car was towed away from the accident scene to a local wrecker yard. First Acceptance was aware of this, and had even sent their adjuster out who had my car moved to a salvage yard. (It was obviously totaled..I knew that from day one) The woman assigned to my claim never returned any of my phone calls when I left her voicemails. The only time I could get her to answer was at 7:00 a.m. and she always asked "What do you need today?" in a hateful manner. I finally got fed up and called the main number and did not dial anyone's extension. I just wanted to talk to anyone...anyone but this woman. I told the lady who answered my problem and her reply was, "Well that's not my problem, I can't help you with that." I then asked to be transferred to the supervisor of my claim adjuster, and I was sent to the supervisor's voicemail. I left my name, telephone number, claim number, and a very detailed message and asked that she please call me back. Within 2 minutes of me leaving this message on the supervisor's voicemail, I got a call from the hateful woman, not the supervisor. She said "I just heard that message you left for my boss. Now what do you need?" I said I needed to know the outcome of the appraisal, since it had been completed over a week before. She said "I told you to stop calling me, that I would call you." I didn't call this woman everyday, but each time I did she acted as if I was bothering her. I said "Fine, I will just contact State Farm and let them take over the claim." Immediately after I said that she typed something on her computer and said "Oh wait, the information just came in." She then proceeded to tell me that my car was totaled and that they were going to offer me $10, 000. The Blue Book Value of my 2005 Honda Civic is approximately $15, 000. I then said "No thank you, cancel everything. I am going to let State Farm handle this because they told me they would give me $14, 661 for my car." She replied, "I don't care what State Farm does or you." So again I said cancel everything, I'm finished dealing with you. She then proceeded to call me a vulgar name and we hung up. This was the worst experience I could have imagined. I was injured in this wreck and it took them almost a week to tell me they would pay my medical expenses. State Farm did in one day what First Acceptance still hadn't done in two weeks. I am extremely upset at the rudeness and unprofessionalism I receieved from First Acceptance. I'm anxious to see how long it takes them to re-pay State Farm and also pay me back my $500 deductible.
I am in the same boat, my car is worth $8750 and they offered me $1000 on the phone to take my car, and $800 if I keep it. Then they sent me a letter saying $800 and they are going to take it.
They threatened to cancel my claim and everything too... Working with lawyer on this one..
This is allmost the same thing that is still going on with me i do not like then and will never get them ever again they are rude and not helpfull at all they never call you when u call them my adjuster left and now i'am dealing with her superviser and im sick of them allready i'm so glad i read your comment about them now that tells me im not they only persone who is or had trouble with them
I also was hit by a man insured through this company. They are rude and unprofessional. They mailed me a check which was less than the estismate at their repair shop--they wanted me to pay out of pocket for a rental car and thery would reinburse me. What at a laugh when the adjuster never returns your call. I asked about medical bills and received a letter stating based on the damage to my car, I shouldn't have any medical expenses. I mailed them the check back and told them that this was unacceptable and their claim practices were unsettling. I'm going with my insurance on this one. I wonder if I will get my deductable back in my lifetime.
I had Acceptance and actually got it through the phone. I had to sign the papers so they could give me the pocket card. I went there, 2 days after I had my baby, drove all the way there so they could finally give me the proof of insurance. When I got there, the man sitting down did not even say hello to me and a week after I did everything I received a letter saying that I had more paper to sign. I was still in pain, after labor, they expected me to keep on driving around, I started to yell.I was really upset...This was not the service I was paying for so, I was gone.
I am currently in the same boat. Almost two weeks ago i was hit by a lady insured by first acceptance. She admitted fault and even admitted it to her insurance company. I have a broken arm dislocated wrist and torn tendons and completely unable to work for the next six to eight weeks per Dr. Orders. I have as of yet been able to speak to an adjuster! Repeated calls only get unanswered. Upon calling the main number i was informed the claim number given me by the lady is incorect and they refused to give me the correct one. By close of business tomorow if i have heard nothing i am contacting a lawyer!
First Acceptance Insurance sucks!
I was hit by a First Acceptance Auto Insurance patron. I was hit perpendicular when he pulled out from a gas station into me while I was traveling well below the speed limit. I had a police report stating that the other guy was inattentive and called repeatedly to speak to his insurance adjuster. He left me about three voicemails while I was working but would never answer when I would called him. He wasn't that rude but was no help either. After one month I finally asked to speak to the adjuster's manager on a voicemail and immediately received a call by a rude unprofessional "lady" who told me that they would cover 85 percent of the damage because she believed that my lights were too dim. She wasn't the assigned adjuster and was making statements of which she had absolutely no way of knowing. She argued with me about the truth of the police report and refused to speak to me when she heard my girlfriend making statements in the background. I asked her what basis she had for her strange assumption about "dim" lights and I informed her that my lights are regulation lamps and that they have no dimmer switch, only an on/off switch. She began to rant that they wouldn't pay any more than 85 percent of the bill (which sounded like a severely low-ball estimate of $1008. My front driver's side fender was pushed all the way in and my front bumper was cracked through the bottom. I know the side panel alone costs more than their "estimate"). I then informed this loathsome individual that I would just let my attorney handle her, and hung up. I would suggest avoiding ever contacting this company.
im going through hell with these people and frankie mcclain should be fired.
I'm having the same problems with them; I can only reach them at 7am and it's been 1 1/2 months and my claim is still not resolved. I'm sending everything to Progressive and letting them deal with it. If you're ever in an accident and aren't at fault, pray like hell the other driver isn't insured through this company.
It sounds like we are all in the same boat with this company. My question is if you don't have the money for an attorney what do you do? First Acceptance is on the verge of bankruptcy anyway. As the old saying goes "you can't get blood from a turnip"
Surely there is some sort of consumer protection clause for those of us on being unfairly treated. How can we ban together to bring a civil action against the company? Maybe bring all the complaints to the attention of mass media.
My husband was involved in an accident on Oct.30, & the wreck was an acceptance policy holder. We have called acceptance about 3 times a day for the last 21/2 weeks & Leshawn Thomas apparently doesn't know how to answer a phone or even return a phone call! I have a family of 5 & we all cant fit into my husbands small truck. We have tried to contact a manager & well...he doesn't know how to use a phone either. I have stressed on voicemails that my family is in need of a rental car bad, but apparently they don't care. I don't understand how this "Boot leg company" gets by with all of this, especially after reading every ones reviews & we all seem to have had the same problem! I say fire them all & start all over with some real adjusters.
I am currently battling with Acceptance Insurance as well. My accident occurred a month ago today and I've never spoken to Leeshawn Thomas, period. I called every few days and emailed and never received a response. Then I resorted to calling every day. Still nothing. Emailing everyday. Still nothing. Finally gave my statement about the collision last week and still, no reply. This company is definitely boot leg!
Most of these comments sound like they're from inbred ignorant ###s.
I know one thing for sure Acceptance Insurance is horrible to their employees. They don't treat them like real human beings. They don't get to spend hardly any time with their families and end up missing out on everything.
This is the worst insurance company ever! not only do they give you the run around because they dont want to help, they are inconsiderate. The managers dont return phone calls and neither do the insurance adjusters. Good luck trying to get any assistance or a rental vehicle or anything else you may need from this company!
Acceptance is the worst ever if you have them, my advice to you is to go somewhere else because they love taking your money but when there's an accident they will not do anything for you...if your car is total loss they won't even give you half of what it's worth and take it from you to sell and get more money...also if you are making payments oh God you just lose everything and you will still be paying for that car.
If you have them leave now Im saying right now...today or you will find yourself paying a lot of money for years just to know when you finally get into an accident you still pay for almost everything yourself...they won't help
Everyone needs to call the Insurance Commissioner of their State. There are guidelines on claims processing that have to be met or they can't sell insurance in that particular State. This Company has to be forced to either do their job or get out of the business! I have been in insurance for almost 40 years and this is all completely unacceptable. CALL YOUR STATE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT!
I am in the same boat as most of you are. I was hit from behind in a completely empty parking lot by a lady who was on her phone. I also hit a wall of a store after I was struck from behind. I called acceptance An of course they started the claim An told me within the next few days an adjustor would be sent out to take a look at my car. Of course about 2 weeks go by and still nothing. At this point I'm calling everyday finally they say "oh it's gonna take to long to send someone out download our app and take pictures." In my mind I'm thinking how the hell are pictures going to tell you what needs to be fixed on the car ?!? Took the pictures sent them. A week goes by got screwed by my police report claiming I was driver one which means I was at fault which is complete bull [censor]. At this point my car has finally made it to the auto body shop of my choosing.Even my mechanic states I was hit from behind while acceptance is claiming that I was hit from the side. I get assigned to a lady name Rosalind Moore who by the way is a complete [censor] very rude and unprofessional. I would call constantly to get updates on when they would be sending the check for my car . She never answered the phone ever I couldn't even get her supervisor on the line. How the hell is it that I can't reach my own insurance company not to mention the fact that anyone you talk to never has any idea as to what's going on with your claim. Fast forward two months according to my estimate I had radiator damage as well as body damage to the car. It's gets fixed finally after waiting centuries for them to fix the car. I drive the car and less then a few hours it's broken down again. I contact my auto body shop who sends out a mechanic the next day to take a look. He can't figure out what's wrong but now my car is running hot An the belt stopped moving as well as my coolant boiling out of the the thing you put it in. Few days later I take my car to its dealership An they determine that the engine is no good. They notify my insurance company as well as send them an estimate on how much it will be to fix it. Mind you I'm thinking why the hell wasnt this discovered at the auto body shop. The car it self is brand new I've had it less then six months didn't have any issues until the accident. Why does acceptance then basically tell me that now they need proof that the over heating was either caused by the accident or already happening before. At this point I'm annoyed and 3 months in with no car and still no solution. I contact acceptance who then tells me that they are waiting on my dealership to get back to them. I call my dealership an they tell me they sent the estimate over weeks ago An that basically it's looking like acceptance doesn't want to pay to fix it or total it out. I call acceptable still not being able to reach my punk [censor] adjustor I send an email she proceeds to tell me they still haven't sent anyone over to get the final say so on what happened with the car. So wtf have you all been doing for the past month?!? Once again getting the run around An broken promises and statements about keeping in contact as well as when things are going to get done. An here I am today almost 4 months in still waiting on a damn solution stay away from acceptance they don't give a damn about your business nor do they care or know how to treat customers. May be time for me to lawyer up at this point.
