paint peeling on my 2017 escape
Hi
I am writing to regarding my ford escape 2017. The paint is peeling off on both sides of my front windshield. I would like some information regarding this problem and how I would go about fixing this. I think this is a defect with the car and should be covered under the warranty. I will reach out to the ford near me for help. Someone should reach out from your company.
Joe Myers service
I recently had an experience with the service department at Joe Myers Ford that left me feeling extremely frustrated and dissatisfied. I scheduled a service vehicle pickup on Monday, May 1, 2023, to address an oil change and issues with a vehicle recall. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. The initial inspection revealed that an additional $2800 of services were required, which I declined on Thursday, May 4, 2023. However, as of Tuesday, May 9, 2023, I had not received any communication regarding the status of my vehicle. When I physically entered the dealership on Monday, May 8, 2023, I was met with unhelpful and unknowledgeable staff who asked me to come back.
It is incredibly disappointing to see that this is not the first time that I have experienced such issues with Joe Myers Ford's service department. It appears to be a pattern of bad business practices at this dealership, which is unacceptable. I would like to emphasize that I would never have chosen to use this dealership if the issue was not a Ford recall. The negligence and incompetence displayed by the service department is unacceptable and needs immediate attention.
Overall, my experience with Joe Myers Ford's service department was extremely dissatisfying. I hope that the dealership takes swift action to address these issues and improve its service to customers.. My complaints went unaddressed after a formal letter sent to the general manager. I would implore Ford to reconsider this as it is a damage to the brand, or at least perform a holistic audit as I am quite certain there are some unlawful business practices going on in this establishment. I urge any customer with a factory recall to consider other options as this one will surely cost you in the end.
2007 ford escape a/c diagnosis
I brought my 2007 Ford Escape in to Rick Morre at quick Lane Monday May 8th, it is now Wenesday May 10th. I am disabled and had a friend bring in this car
I have called numerious times to Rick Moore's phone and left numerious messages on his answering machine. Evidently he doesn't know how to use an answering machine or else he makes it a habit to not return calls.
I asked for a mechnic to diagnos my A/C. I have a GPS inside this car and I have it set up to email me when anyone starts this car. Imediately after I had a friend bring in this car on May 8 2023 they parked this car out back and it has never been started again.
I know that there is a labor shortage and a supply chain issue but this diagnoses is starting to get ridiculas.
I suggest someone call me back ASAP.

2019 f15
I took my f150 in because of a tapping sound in the motor on March 20., I have the extended warranty. We have been thru 4 loans. We can't go anywhere or pull our boat with the loaner they say. I have the Ford pass on my phone and it has went to sleep because no one is working on it since 3/23. The amount of time there taking at Taylor Ford is unacceptable. There was other problems with the truck as well. The tail gate was fall down while driving down the road, the abs light was coming on the backup assist warning light was coming on the cruise control wasn't working properly and additional warning lights as well. They keep giving us excuses that there working on a Kroger van and can't get a hoist.
Desired outcome: Fix my truck and get it back to me
2019 F150
My 2019 f150 with 26k miles has been sitting at thedealer for 10 months now without anyone fixing it or caring tom It has a transmission problem under warranty and noone cares to fix it. I have been in direct contact with Ford for 2 months to no resolution. Very unacceptable. I have sent a few friends elsewhere because who wants to deal with a company that does not care about the customers. I have seen plenty of 10 speed trans issues online and they dont care to address it as a recall because they would lose too much money, so now I suffer.
Desired outcome: Fix Or Repair Daily... I want my truck back in tip top shape..been sitting close to a year..I always took care of this vehicle..26kmileage and a waste now
Warranty
We have bought fords all of our lives, we have a Ford kuga St line top of range we have had it 2years 4months, it has no power or electrics we called AA who were amazing took it to a Ford dealership, near us and they don’t seem to be concerned our car is sitting in the garage and has been for 5 days, they have said they will try and have a look at at in the next coup of days,.
Absolutely disgusted.
Desired outcome: Think we will will now sell our car not got a lot of confidence in it
Truly a suggestion, the complaint is an opinion
Ok, you are offering the fully Coyote powerplants plus the 7.3L. I understand that the 7.3L is only and Automatic and we need to get a special Tremec throw out bearing to make a manual transmission set up.
Then reality is the Coyote is in Mustangs with Manual Transmission.
I'm 62 and I still prefer RWD and Stick. My opinion is you should be offering a Manual option.
Thank you
My first of 3 Mustangs was a 1967 289ci, plus a 1986 and 1988 Mustang GT, Crown Victoria, Grand marquis.
My mother is in a 2005 Grand Marquis, will not drive much longer.
I would gladly do an engine/transmission swap. Sure, I can grab a wrecked Mustang. I just like the idea of a perfect factory setup. I've dropped in plenty of engines, I just like a package. I am Not Alone.
Paint peeling
3027 Ford Escape, pearl white, 45,ooo miles.
The paint in the drivers side, next to the windshield is peeling.
Vehicle has not been involved in any accidents.
One owner, dealer maintained.
I believe Ford motor company is responsible for the poor paint either quality or application.
The right thing to do is offer to repaint for free or minimum charge.
At 17,000 miles, the engine was replaced due to faulty engine and recall.
The , 2017 Escape Titanium us the 8th Ford vehicle we have purchased new, most likely the last if Ford does not step up with a resolution.
n
Desired outcome: 1. Repaint the vehicle - no charge. 2. Replace vehicle at no charge. 3. Financial compensation as good faith
New Ford van
I feel like I have been lied to regarding a new van we have on order. One week it’s in a compound waiting delivery then the next it’s on a boat on way to the compound.
Originally I was told October 22 then it gets put back every month. We are nearly in April and still no solid delivery date. Please advise
Thank you

2017 ford Escape car
I have a 2017 blue Ford Escape. The paint is peeling all around the windshield it is a terrible mess I went to the Ford dealership they're doing nothing for me I would like in on the class action Ford should be doing something about this I paid good money for this car and I shouldn't have to deal with this there should be a recall. I'm so very sad and disappointed this is my very first car and this is what I have to deal with
Desired outcome: The dealership won't help there's no recall got to go get the whole car painted wow way to go Ford
Paint chipping on pillar 2018 Ford Escape (White UG)
I noticed the paint chipping on my driver's side windshield pillar of my 2018 Ford Escape on 3/2/2023. I took it to a local auto body shop who stated that this happens when the vehicle's first layer of paint dries too long on the assembly line before the final coat is applied. This is a manufacturing defect due to poor preparation. I called Ford Customer Service that day to open a case. A representative gave me their contact information and told me to take it to a local Ford Dealership. The customer service representative told me that Ford would not cover all the expenses but would do something in terms of compensation. On March 7th the Ford dealership took pictures and submitted a claim for the 5 year warranty. They were confident it would be covered because I was within the 5 year warranty period. They also confirmed what my Carfax report said, the original factory windshield was intact. That it could not be the cause of a replaced windshield.
On March 15th, the dealership left me a message that Ford rejected the claim. The 3 year paint warranty was expired and the 5 year warranty I still was under would protect against corrosion only.
At that point, I emailed and texted the customer service rep from Ford who had an open case for me letting them know what the dealership said. I did not hear back. I called on March 21st to talk to the rep after no response. I was told they were out sick, and they would get back to me as soon as possible. I called again on March 23rd and talked to a different rep who told me that Ford stood by their warranty and there was nothing that they would do for me. I asked to speak with a supervisor and waited on hold for 30 minutes. The supervisor stated there was nothing customer service could do if the warranty department denied the claim. I asked how to submit a complaint and they gave me a PO Box to send a formal complaint to.
I had the auto body shop write up an estimate for the repairs and take pictures on 3/27. I am submitting this plus a list of all the complaints I can find regarding Ford and their poor paint quality. This is unacceptable and they need to own up to their manufacturing defect. I had a 2006 Nissan Altima that never had paint chip. This has nothing to do with weather, usage or even a warranty matter. Is Ford complacent with their vehicles' paint lasting under five years? Is that the type of reputation they want? "Build Tough" is laughable.
Desired outcome: I would like the chipped paint on my 2018 Ford Escape to be restored to acceptable quality. Whether that is in the form of compensation for an outside auto body shop doing the repair or a Ford dealership doing the restoration themselves.
Ford Fiesta Eco (EK13 NNT)
I would like to say Ive only ever brought Fords cars so Im a very loyal customer!( My Ford Fiesta is 13 plate, 98500 miles).
However, Im so angry and upset! when I was sold my Eco engine, not at any point was I told I would have to replace a very expensive CAM belt in the lifetime of the car... The value of the car has plummeted and to replace the belt, it will cost £1700 as long as other problems are not found during the fitting! and whose to say once the engine is taken apart it won't aggravate other problems!
There is going to be a lot of other owners in my position now! Fords need to cone up with a solution to help us! look forward to a quick response Jacky Young
Desired outcome: why have these engines not been recalled! I would like my engine replaced !!
Upper oil pan gasket ford 6.7 diesel
I had an oil leak on my 2016 diesel, had the upper oil pan gasket replaced at a tune of 5,000.00, was told if it leaks again with in 2 years it is warranted at any ford dealer. Now 1500 miles and 5 months later it is leaking again, was diagnoised at a ford dealer upper oil pan gasket. They want 6,500.00 to fix it. I showed them the paperwork from previous repair and was told they think it was not properly preped. Have called several different dealers no one will fix it under warranty. We are full time rvers and the place that fixed it the first time is over 4000 miles out of our way. Do you have any suggestions.
Desired outcome: I want it fixed at a dealer in our travels for no cost. Plus a loaner car as this is our only vehicle.
Lithia ford of boise service
I am filing this complaint about Lithia Ford of Boise, Idaho regarding repeated repairs for the same problem. This is a known issue with Ford Fusions pulley bolts breaking multiple times. Anyone can look on-line and find many who have had the same problem. I informed Lithia of this several times and after the fourth bolt breaking, they finally acknowledged the issue.
The vehicle is a 2008 Ford Fusion that has had the bolt on the idler pulley break five times between mileage 131,886 and 142,075. Lithia Ford has replaced and repaired the bolt four times. Each repair has included replacement of bolt, pulley, serpentine belt and labor. Recently the bolt broke off again. This time I was informed by the service director ( Rett Sheeder) that to fix the problem the engine would need to be removed. There were three options: new engine, remanufactured engine or bore and re-thread the bolt hole. Ranging from 2500 to 7500 dollars. Lithia said they would deduct the charges from the previous four repairs. This does not help at all. I am retired and on a fixed income, my money is limited. These breakdowns have caused multiple problems to include missed work and having my no charge towing cancelled by my auto insurance. I have all the documentation to corroborate what I have stated. Below are the dates the repairs on the broken bolts were done.
11-02-2019- mileage 131886
07-07-2021- mileage 140,478, pulley was purchased by me at Lithia Ford parts department.
01-19-2022- mileage 140,619
03-29-2022- mileage 142075
09-05-2022- mileage 144,500
I should have been informed on the first, second, third or fourth time that the bolt broke what the solution was not the fifth.
Lithia Ford should be responsible to repair my vehicle and stand behind their guarantee as stated on all the invoices I have.
At Lithia Ford of Boise, we love our customers. With our Assured Guarantee, you will never pay for a repair twice. The Assured Guarantee is for 3 years or 50,000 miles on most repairs.
LITHIA Ford did complete two unsuccessful repairs with no charge. Per Lithia Fords warranty on every bill, this is what should have been done.
At Lithia Ford of Boise, we love our customers. With our Assured Guarantee, you will never pay for a repair twice. The Assured Guarantee is for 3 years or 50,000 miles on most repairs.
In between those repairs out of pocket to me was in excess of 1000.00 dollars on three different occasions for the same repair. On multiple times I informed Lithia Ford service personnel that there was an issue with ford Fusions idler pulley bolt snapping. A quick online search would find many that had the idler pulley bolt snap 3-4-5 times on their Ford Fusion.
On March 29, 2022 the Service Director stated to me that he was aware of all the online postings of people that had the same issue as me, and that Ford was informed of my problem. This was the fourth time the bolt had broken. There was no charge for this repair. The service manager told me if this happens again to contact him personally, that he had a paper trail on my repairs.
On September 06, 2022 (on a call regarding the fifth time the idler pulley bolt broke) from Lithia Fords Service Director which lasted 9.00 minutes at 12:59 PM, I was informed of the three options to repair my vehicle. The Service Director stated that Ford Motor Company had told him that the engine should have been pulled originally to repair the problem. Had I been informed of this from the beginning my decisions about my vehicle would have been different.
The bill from July 08, 2021 for 511.00 dollars states that customer supplied the idler pulley. They are correct. If they were to check their records, they will find that I purchased that part from their own parts department at Lithia Ford. They can see my receipt at a later date. What I want is to have Lithia Ford stand behind their warranty to never pay for a repair twice and repair my vehicle.
To date I have filed a complaint with the BBB, spoke with service director Rhett Sheeder with no success. My last conversation was with the general manager who was very rude. I informed him that my final option was to have it litigated in court. His response was " bring it on". I am in the process of filing legal action. I have all supporting documents. Thank you.
Regards,
Michael J Bartnik
Desired outcome: I would like my vehicle repaired like ie should have been done the first time it was brought in.
Throttle body failure
I have a 2016 F150 with a 3.5 Eco Boost engine. I purchased the truck new in 2016 and the truck currently has 90,000 miles on it. I just replaced the throttle body for the third time ( a total of 4 throttle bodies counting the original one). The failure is a real problem when in heavy traffic on busy roads because control of the engine is lost and I must coast off the road, shut the engine off, let it set then restart to clear the errors. In most cases I have been able to get the truck to a repair shop quickly. I have replaced the last two myself because we were traveling and getting it scheduled for repair was a problem. I have two real issues, one this failure comes without any warning suggesting that a failure could happen. And the second is Ford has been building cars and trucks for over 100 years, you would think that this problem could be resolved with the engineering you have available. When checking F150 boards this problem is reported over and over.
Desired outcome: I would like a response on how this issue will be resolvedJoseph Meaney524 Thomas RdWales, WI 53183joe.[protected]@outlook.com
2021 ford expedition
I am currently leasing my Expedition. It has been a terrible experience and have had it in the shop many, many time, too many times for it to be considered a new car. I have always wanted an Expedition, but not so much anymore. The vehicle now rattles driving down the road and doesn't drive the same. The roof and dash have been ripped out and repaired. The seat warmers and steering wheel don't warm up like they used to before the dash was repaired. It has been a horrible experience. Szotts for in Holly, Michigan calls my vehicle a "Friday vehicle." I would love to trade it in early and get back into a Ford Explorer. Is this possible? It has been really hard to make payments on this vehicle due to its malfunctions and driving like an old beat up vehicle. You can check the records at Szott Ford. It was just in for an oil front differential leak.
Desired outcome: Get into a lease on a Ford Explorer.
2018 Ford Raptor
I bought a certified use Ford Raptor in 2020. Since its purchase I have had it in dealership 7 of the 8 months I have owned it. The dealership "Colley Ford" states that it needs a new transmission, but ford want to rebuild it a second time and is waiting on parts for the last 4 months. They keep telling me that they are just waiting on parts. They have also stated a new transmission is available, but Ford will not approve. They have also had to replace the catalytic convertors which took 3 months.
Desired outcome: For Ford to actually fix the vehicle without dealy
Requested torque specs for wheel lugnuts when lubricated
I called Ford CS today and requested the torque specs for wheel lugnuts when lubricated but after being on the phone for maybe around 20 minutes, the man did not answer my question.
In the 2011 Ranger Owner's Manual, it states, that the lugnut torque is 100 foot lbs. and says, "Torque specifications are for nut and bolt threads free of dirt and rust." Since it does not mention anything about lubrication, it is implied that the toque spec is for dry components (unlubricated).
In order to prevent rust of course a lubricant needs to be applied to the studs and lugnuts too. It is well known that when a lubricant is applied, the torque needs to be decreased to prevent creating too high a clamping force and potentially damaging components.
Some manufacturers specify that a lubricant be put on the studs or perhaps the nuts.
A Tech with an AAS automotive degree and was an ASE Certified Master Tech in autos and heavy trucks with around 40 years of experience told me at his own shop, he put anti-seize grease on the threads and lugnuts and torqued the nuts to 20% less than dry and never had a problem with a wheel coming loose. This is completely safe after considering engineering information. There should be a torque standard for cars and light trucks that take into account lubrication of the studs and lugnuts but there is not, so this is where the problem arises. The important thing really is about getting the clamping force correct, even and consistent. Actually, tightening dry will create inconsistent clamping forces. Some people have an unfounded fear which is Not science based that when the studs and or lugnuts are lubricated and properly torqued that the wheels will fall off. This has not been demonstrated as factual.
Desired outcome: A wheel lugnut torque spec for studs and nuts when lubricated.
2017 Ford Escape Titanium- paint peeling on windshield pillars both sides
3/5/23 Paint on my 2017 Ford Escape Titanium - White Platinum Tri Met Tri coat paint. The windshield pillars has paint chipping off and peeling off of the pillars- it just started.
I took my car to a local collision body shop- they looked at my vehicle and said it was a paint defect and ford should be responsible for it. He advised me to go to my local Ford dealer.
I took my vehicle to my local Ford dealer today 3/9/23, the body shop person at Ford looked at it and then called his manager- his manager heard what was wrong-refused to even come outside and look at it, and told his employee to tell me I am out of luck. nothing they will do at all. I asked the dealer manager when the actual Ford Motor Company corporate rep comes to the dealer, I want to talk to them about my vehicle. He said it was non of my business and told me to leave.
This is a common well documented problem reported by 1000s of escape owners that I was not aware of until i did some research today.
Desired outcome: Ford honors their product and fixes the defective paint on my vehicle. I take very good care of my vehicle and this is not my fault
Super Duty Order
I am still waiting on my Super Duty F450 KING RANCH since January 2022. What is the hold up on building this truck? I can't get in touch with anyone who can "ANSWER" that question. Ford Customer Relations is stating they don't have the VIN number or when it will be built. They are telling me to call my local dealer. The local dealer keeps telling me to call Ford. A complete run around system. Ford Customer Relations can't give me a number to someone who can tell me exactly where I am in the process. This is now 14 months later.
What is the number to the order department in the States or Canada that can tackle these questions about my rig?
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Raoul M.
Desired outcome: "Build my truck!!!!"
