Desired outcome: All my money reimbursed
Fairness
So, this site claims "fairness" yet the winners of most of the games are predetermined based on how much money you have in your account. I have several people as friends on there and before we play "Potion Panic, " I'll ask how much they have in their account and if they have more, I won't play them because EVERY TIME, they will win, no matter what. Skill level has nothing to do with it. They will get all the colors they need to complete their potions, four of a kind, which gives an extra turn and skulls, which take away points from you. When it's your turn, the colors magically change and you can't get what you need to complete your potions. I have complained and complained countless times, to no avail. They just say that it's fair and there's no technical issue with the game so they can't refund your money. If you see that you are losing, you can just exit the game and e mail them saying the game didn't respond and they'll refund your entry fee. I've done that on numerous occasions since they don't seem to care about me much as a paying customer. I've been a part of this site for many years and I like their games, but I am tired of being stolen from. I've never had enough money in my account to withdraw and have only paid but I'm done. I'm so sick of being stolen from.
lol site stole 600 bucks from me and at the year asked me to send them my social security number to pay taxes on it this company is in the business of making money and part of that business is doing anything in their power to keep money in their accounts and out of yours.
SCAMMERS. Stay away unless you want to throw your money away, and never withdraw, they will terminate your access without warning!
Thieves! Me, my dad an my bf opened a site a soon as my dad wanted too cash out we all got frozen and deleted cuzz our stats looked too much the same! So my dad got nothing and so did we, and we did deposited on that site!
fairness
I caught a player cheating on this game site. They had scores way higher than the highest scores ever posted and did this at least 5 games in a row, at least thats how many I saw and told the company about. They bet the most possible money with the most possible payout. After informing the company about this they wouldn't even refund me money that I spent...

MONEY STEALERS
I HAVE TRIED FOR OVER 3 MONTHS TO GET MY MONEY OUT OF THIS UNETHICAL, GERMAN BASED GAMING SITE, TO NO AVAIL.JUST GET CONTINUOUS, PATHETIC DELAY TACTICS WHICH ARE CLEARLY DESIGNED TO MAKE THE CLAIMANT GIVE UP TRYING TO RECLAIM THEIR OWN MONEY.WARNING...DO NOT ENTERTAIN THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY.

Has anyone ever won money on this gaming site? As soon as I am up any money, I loose connection or game doesn't load and they keep my money. But if I play the exact game for no money, it loads just fine. I am done with them! Please tell me a fair game site with similar games!
I have an account with gd for many years now. I play off and on not a daily regular or even monthly regular. Recently I stopped by the site and had a very unexpected win streak that turn south amazingly fast to no fault of my skill. 4 lost connections 2 score didn't record and games just not responding right; so when not only all of my win monies had been just erred out of me but also most all of my deposit leaving me with 200gd$ I wrote and said that I felt like some refund should be give that since my computer was showing no lost connection on my part it wasn't my error and that if it had happen only once maybe twice in a few hours that I might have understood but yada yada.. Well they gave me a credit of 200 gd$ but here is the catch they wont let me play or do anything on the site. I am getting a notice saying that I have to confirm my email after several years of been a customer (ie already on their mail list) and until I confirm my email nadda as in cant withdraw my monies either. For well over a week now I have been hitting the confirm my email and going and checking my mail.. They are just not sending me anything. So I wrote em told em keep it since I know I wont see it anyways and cancel my account.
i've been paid many times. if you still have your gameduell account contact me and we can take some money out. gdsocios gmail com. Dont worry, you dont have to spend money.
You're right. GameDuell falsely presents itself to be an American company when in fact it is a subsidiary of a German company. Even the name is some bizarre mixture of English and German that just sounds like [censor].
I've also experienced what you've described; my money was also withheld and they required from me proof of identity (America happens to be one of the only countries in the civilized world that does not force mandatory IDs on the masses). Their unqualified personnel refused to offer an alternative. Their Mexican CEO apparently sits in a P.O. Box office somewhere in San Francisco. The only thing that helps is a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS SITE AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN. THEY PROMISE YOU FREE PLAY THEN YOU HACE TO UPGRADE, HOW DO UPGRADE "FREE"? THEY REQUIRE YOU TO UPGRADE WITH $5, $10 OR $20 ALL WITH THE SAME THING: PLAY AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT. IF ALL OF THEM ARE THE SAME THING WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IF YOU PAY $5 OR $20? YOU CANNOT GET YOUR MONEY AND YOU DO NOT GET TO PLAY AS LONG AS YOU WANT. THEY AE LIERS AND CHEATS!
RAKE ROBBERY
THIS GERMAN BASED COMPANY GOES NOT ADVERTISE THE FACT THAT THEY TAKE A 25% RAKE OFF EVERY GAME YOU PLAY.ABSOLUTE EXTORTION...SO A HEADS UP GAME AT TRUE ODDS OF EVENS BECOMES A 2 TO 1 ON SHOT, MAKING IT VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN ANYTHING...MEDIUM TO LONG TERM.EVEN IF YOU DO WIN, THEY WILL NOT PAY YOU OUT...AVOID THESE SCAMMERS AT ALL COSTS.

PASSPORT PLUNDER
THIS GERMAN, BERLIN BASED GAMING SITE, SMELLS OF A HITLER STYLE DICTATORSHIP.THEY ARE DEMANDING TO SEE A COPY OF MY PASSPORT BEFORE RELEASING THE MEAGRE SUM OF £12 OF MY OWN MONEY.CLEARLY HOPING THAT CUSTOMERS CANNOT BE BOTHERED TO MEET THEIR EXTERMES, AND THUS STEALING THE MONEY.THEY MAKE SCROUGE LOOK LIKE A GOOD SAMARITAN.IF YOU EVER WISH TO SEE YOUR MONEY AGAIN, NEVER PUT ANY INTO THIS UNETHICAL, CHEATING GAMING COMPANY.

They used to be pretty much what it said on the tin - friendly, easy-going, cooperative. But suddenly, at the same time as these demands for ID started appearing [under the excuse of new Euro legislation, I think], they have begun accusing me of having more than one account and other infringements of their T&C. I can only assume they don;t see me as profitable enough and are trying to force me out.
WITHDRAWING MONIES
GAMEDUELL: IS A GAMING SITE BASED IN BERLIN, GERMANY.DO NOT PUT ANY MONEY INTO THIS SITE, THE COMPANY IS UNETHICAL AND YOU WILL CETAINLY HAVE A DUEL ON YOUR HANDS IF YOU EVER WANT YOUR MONEY OUT.THEY WILL USE CRITICAL SECURITY CHECKS AS AN EXCUSE TO KEEP YOUR MONEY.INFACT, MOVING HEAVEN AND EARTH WILL NOT GET YOU VERY FAR EITHER.SO DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOUR AND STEER WELL CLEAR OF THESE COWBOYS, AND CHOOSE A CUSTOMER FRIENDLY SITE, WHICH THESE PEOPLE ARE CERTAINLY NOT.
I eventually got my money out of GAMEDUELL, but it took nearly 5 months and more emails than i can recall. In addition, they charge a fee for withdrawal, on top of that, your money is sent to MONEY BOOKERS who will charge another fee before sending you what is left.
The proof that they claim they need to veryify that you are over 18 years old, before making any payments, is ridiculous and is just a ploy, hoping that you will give up your claim, so that they can steal your money.
All in all, a very unethical company...everyone would be well advised to steer well clear of these bandits.
I rate them as Z - - -.

It gets worse. Tonight it is not possible to withdraw money, because the page is unavailable. You can still pay in. How amazing!
STAY AWAY
Avoid complaining. GameDuell is never wrong; all that any appearance of chutzpah will get you is rudeness and threats that they will pull the plug - illegally, it would seem, since they claim that the mere *suspicion* of a breach of T&C will suffice to give them an excuse to freeze you out [and keep your money, of course].
I think they may be trying to find an excuse to chuck me out because I'm a recreational player. I sometimes have a flutter, but mainly play for fun.
One day after writing my first review, I filed a complaint with the BBB, and two months later they got to my case. They contacted Gameduell about it, who contacted me, and said:
"I apologize for the delay in contacting you, unfortunately we were only informed of your complaint with the BBB yesterday and could not locate any mail to ourselves regarding the matter.
When withdrawals are requested, they go through several verification procedures. On this occasion, your withdrawal was subject to a verification of identity, for which reason we contacted you from the e-mail address identityverification@gameduell.com on 10/01/12 requesting that you complete the form that I have also attached to this e-mail and a copy of a government issued ID, e.g. drivers license.
This is common procedure on our website and aims to ensure that the person registered on a player account truly exists and is also very likely the person using the player account.
On 10/16/12, your player account was deactivated and you were contacted again as we had failed to receive these documents. If you did not receive either of these mails, it is possible that gmail automatically sent them to your Spam folder, though they will have since been deleted automatically by gmail.
Your account is still in our database and the identity verification can still be completed at which point your withdrawal can also be processed.
I apologize again for the confusion and delay.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us."
After I submitted the form they sent me, my account was reactivated.
I may have jumped the gun and allowed myself to believe the worst after reading the other negative reviews.
I've been a member of Gameduell for almost a year and a half and never had any trouble withdrawing money, until recently. my latest withdrawal amount was for $142. It's always taken 4 weeks maximum to receive the money I withdraw, and so seeing as the four week mark has just passed, I was feeling like I'd probably be getting the money soon. What happened instead was that today I tried to log in and they kept telling me the login info was wrong. When I tried to fill out the "forgotten your password?" form, they told me they had no record of my email address, so it would be impossible to send me my password. I know I didn't change or forget my password or email address though, the only explanation is that they're doing something wrong.
Someone on sitejabber.com said that after they tried to withdraw 300 euros their account was deleted, and now that I've had a similar experience it's seeming more and more like their strategy might just be to make excuses to cancel your membership when they don't want to pay up. Before today that seemed unlikely, because I had withdrawn $70 all at once recently, $35 at once just after that, and before those two withdrawals there were 5 instances spread out over the year where they paid small amounts between $11 and $19 that totaled $66. Apparently their generousity does have a ceiling, though!
I can't even contact customer service to ask what's going on, because only account holders can email them, and they don't have the option of contact by phone. And I'm afraid to create a new account in order to contact them, because then they can use my multiple accounts as an escuse not to help me, claiming I'm violating their terms of use. I'm not sure they'd even answer anyway, though, because they had stopped responding to my emails in the few months before today, which I thought nothing of at the time but now am definetely suspicious about. I don't trust these people anymore.
If there was some legitimate suspicion they had about my account activity, and they weren't just playing a crooked game, you would think they would have contacted me about the problem instead of just suddenly excommunicating me.
What makes this even worse is that I considered myself to have reached a skill rating too high for it to be possible to be matched to any players who weren't too good ever to beat more than once in a great while, so my ability to earn large amounts through Gameduell was at its end. I wish they had at least paid me this last time and THEN deleted my account.
I can't give them only 1 or 2 stars, though, because like I said, they've been great until just recently.
It may be, though, that it was just coincidence that I wasn't exposed to their shady behavior until now, and they would have been screwing me over earlier if I hadn't been somehow flying under their radar. Who knows.
Note: this review is a copy of the review I left on sitejabber.com
idid as they said then when opt appears i went for a cheque but to be fair they said there would be afee but i got my money back
I am having problems with this site now also.
The website does not say anywhere that you can not withdraw money deposited via paypal, I had £16 to withdraw but they are arguing that the t&c's say i can not have it, though when i read the section of the t&c's they have quoted I see that they have pasted it into the email and edited it so it does say paypal!
How did you get the money back hazzer?
i deposited £10 . then found out what a scam it is so without playing any games for money i have been apromised a cheque ( which wasnot easy ) for nearly £5losing above half of what i put on
h
Have you complained to the Better Business Bureau online? According to them Gameduell is rated A+ but like you I think it is more like F. I have played backgammon with them and the 2-1 odds mean you have to win three games for every one you lose to actually make a profit, which is almost impossible unless you are incredibly lucky, or cheating. Once (just before my credit ran out - I will NOT be putting any more money into this site) I started a game and got a message saying "wait while your opponent's game loads". I waited ten minutes. I went and made a cup of tea. Eventually I closed the page and hey presto! I'd lost 2€. When I complained they didn't give me my money back. What a surprise.
