I had Gator Guard do my front porch and they told me it was to be skid resistant
I had Gator Guard do my front porch and they told me it was to be skid resistant. I had people slip on the porch and there weren't enough chips put in it. The color was lighter than we wanted. I contacted them and had the supervisor of the *** come out and look at it and he told me that he would contact the owner in Indianapolis and let him know about the problem and have him contact me. The owner never contacted me so I called the Dayton supervisor and told him that the owner never contacted me and he said he would get with the owner and have him contact me again. The owner never contacted me in response to this complaint. Also they spilled epoxy on my new driveway and tried to clean it up without success. Then they took a grinder to grind it off of the driveway and left scar marks on my new driveway where they ground to remove the epoxy. I would warn anyone wanting to use this company to think twice before signing a contract.

I gambled with GatorGuard and lost
I gambled with GatorGuard and lost. Don't be fooled by the ads in the ***. I paid $5,000.00 for my garage floor covering. The work was started on 03/31 and completed on 04/23. I called the *** (***) and told him that they had missed putting the top coat on a spot in the floor and there was other places in the floor that was not right. They came again and said that they fixed the problem. *** came to check the floor on 04/12 and agreed with me that the floor wasn't done properly. *** said he would order more chips and that they would sand the floor and redo the chips and topcoat. I got a call from *** and he said that they would be back on 04/22 and 04/23 to finish the job. My floor has dull places and real shiny places in it. Glue has been spilled on the concrete outside of my garage door. I called *** on 4/26 and left a message. He isn't nice enough to return my call. I think I should get at $1,000.00 back. I bought the floor when it was advertised for 25% off and $100.00 gift card."

Andrew C, my estimator/salesman, discussed why the GatorGuard company was started when he came to our house 7/15 to give us an estimate
Andrew C, my estimator/salesman, discussed why the GatorGuard company was started when he came to our house 7/15 to give us an estimate. He explained that the owner had started the GatorGuard company after a bad experience he had when another company had done his garage floor. That other company had done a terrible job on his floor and he knew he could do it better. That other company had splashed product on his baseboard and walls among other things. Unfortunately, the same thing happened to us. During every step of the process, (basecoat, colorcoat, chips, clearcoat) product was left on my wall and baseboard. I had to ask to have it repaired. When they sanded my garage floor, they repeatedly broke the circuit in my garage. They eventually had to use the generator they already had on the truck. I had to replace the GFI switch in my garage as a result. My circuit in my garage is only 15 amps. The day they were to put the chips down, I NOTICED that the color was incorrect. They had to stop and order the standard color (shale stone). The process had to be delayed a few days. Fortunately, we did not want a custom color. We were given $150.00 off our bill. We really like the product. It should help prevent slips and falls. However, we cannot recommend your company to anyone. John G.

I feel I was subtly misled in the contract(s) I signed
I feel I was subtly misled in the contract(s) I signed. The salesman who wrote them is no longer with the company, and I do acknowledge my own negligence in this matter. I requested front porch and back patio coating. I assumed both would be on one contract. I was emailed a 27-page contract. Turns out that I had signed two contracts. I had no idea, and ignored the second email sent to me. The first contract I signed -- 27 pages! -- read "Total Investment" on page one. On page two, in small type, was the note "Front Porch." I never heard the salesman say "two contracts" and no one I spoke with over many months of delay referred to "your first contact" or in any way reminded me of my "two contracts." The front porch project took several visits, several coatings, and about 8 hours to complete. The second contract-- the stealth contract -- for the back patio took no more than three hours. For 453 square feet of patio, I was charged $2,341. for a sprayed on coating. This was described as "GatorGuard" coating, so no ability to price compare with a similar, store-bought coating. Work crew did good work, but their heavy truck compressed my front drive, which now has a small dip. If you seek a contact with GatorGuard, beware. Demand all costs be itemized. I would highly recommend you also consider other contractors and price compare. Questionable ethics here, IMHO.

Had Gary come out today to give a quote to surface my front patio
Had Gary come out today to give a quote to surface my front patio. He constantly compared them to other companies...I do not care about if anyone else doesn't do this or that I want to hear 100% about you guys and ypu guys only. Got annoying after a bit with the constant comparing...needs worked on focusing 100% on YOUR company. Good slideshows and pics of their work but when it came down to the numbers and scheduling...it honestly really sucked and here's why. Talk about salesman pressure...everyone's worst nightmare right? Well...if you dont make the deal then & there...the price goes up to the "normal price" ...sure...but that really does not sit well with people when you start off with that. After awhile of haggling the price dropped $1,300 from their original offer. Come on now really...I get it...family owned great work great people only ones who use this material around here...heard it all but price gouging really sucks when its obvious. But overall what was really unsatisfying was the constant pushing to just take their dang offer and how annoying it was to just get him to leave. Asked to go talk to my wife about it...hinting like maybe this evening or a day but nope he made it very clear well it wont be the same price it will only go up. Just kept pushing for a deal...it gets old. It was just really not professional and ethical the way their salesman was and how their business philosophy is! Hell, even Gary questioned their morals and business perspective because he didnt agree with half their doings anyway! Cant imagine how many older people get pushed into getting their business and cant feel like they can say no. Their "discounts" are ridiculous...he said and made it very clear they didnt have military...but it clearly shows "military discount" and "senior discount" and "cash discount" and others on the ipad that he probably didnt know that I was right there looking at all of the BS he was saying they didnt offer. Nothing worse than getting lied to and you see the facts for yourself! Then I confronted him about how pushy he was being and that i clearly see the discounts they offer...and you know wht he said... he had the audacity to say well it will come out of my commission! And that right there folks is what made up my mind for me! They work on commission which drives them to push and push you inside your own home! Good job owners...great work on that! Just honestly not good business when the customer is pushed into spending thousands...they need to relax on their "policy" to where if they leave the price goes up! Give me a break guys some families cannot commit to a big project even within an hour so lay off the constant "ohh price goes up" and just eliminate that from the sales pitch...leaves a terrible perspective, mindset, and opinion of the company! Constantly compared their pricing to other companies too...like who cares about anyone else! I am here listening about Gator...not Joe Schmoe down the road. Clean it up Gator...give your residential business philosophy and ethics a little more looking at because I really feel for the people who get pressured into doing business with you folks. I cannot imagine how many people felt the need to just simply say YES ok do the work just to feel like they are happy! Who knows how you are A+ with the ComplaintsBoard.com...havent looked into that yet but maybe they havent heard your typical sales pitch...but regardless...get your salesman into shape and please...STOP pressuring homeowners in different tactics to take your business! No work was given to Gator!
