A Mix of Experiences with Goldstar Events
Having explored various events through Goldstar, I've encountered a mix of experiences. While some events were enjoyable and well-organized, others left much to be desired. The platform offers a wide range of entertainment options at discounted prices, making it accessible to a diverse audience. However, there have been instances of ticketing issues, lackluster customer service, and discrepancies in seat allocations. Despite these challenges, Goldstar remains a convenient choice for discovering new shows and events. It's essential to approach each booking with cautious optimism and be prepared for potential hiccups along the way.
Goldstar is an awesome service
I have been a member of Goldstar for several years and as a result I have been able to enjoy a wealth of entertainment activities at a reduced rate. I have seen countless plays, musicals, pops activities etc. I'm a Red Velvet member which brings added benefits... great seats, prompt service at a great value. The customer service is absolutely the best... the staff are service oriented and prompt, responsive and just nice folks. I have saved a ton of money by using Goldstar which has enabled me to attend numerous activities... great bang for you buck! I love checking out the "My tickets" section of their website because I love having an bunch of awesome activities to look forward to. Goldstar makes my day...
I used this site for the first time yesterday
I used this site for the first time yesterday. I was skeptical. The tickets I was purchasing sold for $40 for a pair at the door, and they were $32 for the pair advanced purchase through the theater's website. I was able to purchase the pair of tickets for only $24 through goldstar. I received a receipt through my email and was able to print out the confirmation to take with me to the theater. When I arrived at the theater, my tickets were there and waiting for me as promised at the will call window. ZERO problems. I saved 8 bucks and would definitely use this site again. It's a FREE service. You can't beat it. It took less than 5 minutes to "become a member" (provide an email address and create a password).

Best Customer Service, great deals
I've used Goldstar probably a dozen times, and have been extremely satisfied with the results. I've found great venues and amazing deals consistently. The few times that I've had a question, they've answered it immediately. Recently I bought my wife a ticket to an event, but at the last minute I realized my name was on the will-call and not hers. I emailed their support service in the middle of the night, woke up to their reply telling me to just email my wife's name and they'd make the change and resend it. I emailed them back, and got a reply with the new tickets in less than 5 minutes. I recommend Goldstar to any of my friends who want to get out and do something new, and don't want to spend an arm and a leg to do it.
I just bought some dinner theater tickets from Goldstar
I just bought some dinner theater tickets from Goldstar (this is the first time I've used this site) and after I paid and printed out the confirmation I noticed the tickets were for the wrong date. I contacted Goldstar through email, since they don't have a telephone contact number. I was very concerned and skeptical that I wouldn't hear back and would have a hassle stopping the charge on my credit card. To my amazement I had an email reply from Goldstar's customer service within minutes. My credit card charge was canceled and my new reservations with the correct date was made. This was the fastest and easiest customer service I've ever received. I will certainly use Goldstar in the future and recommend this site to friends.
Amazing Service - Bent over Backwards to Help Me!
I had bought tickets through Goldstar (at half price!) but a few days before the performance, my friends had to deal with a family emergency that meant they wouldn't be able to attend. Although I knew the tickets were non-refundable, I saw the notice on the Goldstar site saying to contact them with ANY problem -- so I emailed. Amazingly, a customer service rep responded within minutes. The bad news was that Goldstar had already turned in the final tally to the theater and thus were financially liable to the theater for the tickets -- so no refunds or credits were possible. HOWEVER, the rep voluntarily called the theater and asked if they'd be willing to let us shift to an alternative, non-Goldstar performance later in the month. Within an hour, we were all set with a different date -- saving me $180. Many thanks to Goldstar and to the theater!
Incredible deals, AWESOME customer service!
I have had the privilege of using Goldstar for many shows, always tremendously satisfied with the value proposition they are offering, and perhaps just as important, the flexibility of the company to accommodate you. I had to cancel a show just last week, an hour before the show... answered quickly, offered another show, and when I was unable to make it, immediately offered me a credit. The response is timely, flexible, and every representative I have used is exquisite!
I have purchased many deals, and honestly have had plenty of buyer remorse, with little help from the big boys of the coupon business... days after purchase.
Goldstar is my FIRST CHOICE in the coupon wars... utterly refreshing in every way and beyond. Excellent selection, amazing value and with each correspondence you actually do receive timely, helpful answers... they are on YOUR side! Enjoy, and keep it up G!

The best way to get event tickets. EVER!
Have been a member of Goldstar for a few months now and I can't say enough about the organization. Have managed to get good seats for the productions that we have requested tickets for. These are not just "oh, nobody wants these anyway" seats. They are seats in great spots in the theatres. If you like to go out and see plays and attend events but don't want to spend the big bucks this is the group to belong to! You can order ahead of time; they tickets are on reserve and you get really great prices. You can actually plan your trip a few weeks ahead of time -- unlike some of the places where it is day-of-performance in order to get any kind of deal. There are always many dates and times to choose from. It is up to you. And they people you deal with are super to work with. I messed up an order by splitting it into two orders... and those wonderful customer service folks found both orders and we were even able to get seats for all 4 of us together. You simply have to check this out! There is nothing better for event tickets than Goldstar
The Best Customer Service -- EVER!
Have you had to contact customer service for anything lately? You were probably met with hours on hold, a lot of "sorrys for the inconveniences" and ultimately little or no satisfaction. Not so with Goldstar! Simply put, these guys have THE BEST customer service and CSRs on the planet. Not only are there discounts great, on shows you really want to see, at top flight venues, but most times I purchase tickets they bend over backwards to contact the venues and accommodate my family members with special needs. Our aging parents are 84,93 and 99, and as you can imagine have great difficulties hearing and seeing, but they love theater and concerts. My wife and I try to get them out to shows at least once a week. Each and every time we purchase something from Goldstar their CSRs are nice, friendly, understanding, and are almost 100% successful in getting us seats where they can see and hear well. Also, because of their ages, many times we have bought tickets that we have had to cancel due to ill health, and again, with very few exceptions, Goldstar was able to credit us for the purchase, even when we had to cancel the same day. Every company should take a page from Goldstar's Customer Service Book!
Goldstar ROCKS!
I love Goldstar. Honestly, I just love them. I've been a member for going on 10 years now, and I have always had incredible experiences with them. They have the most interesting, under-the-radar events as well as pricey, big-ticket items at reduced rates, and never, ever have I had a bad seat. The discounts are typically quite substantial, and as long as you don't have to sit right in the front row, Goldstar often offers terrific bargains.
More than just interesting events and good deals, however, I have been impressed with Goldstar's service. Recently I discovered that my Outlook calendars weren't syncing between my desktop and my mobile, and I double-booked myself. I emailed Goldstar with my dilemma, and they responded well within a day. I want to say it was a few hours.
No one likes service fees, so if Goldstar has a drawback, I'd say that was it. Even still, the service fees are usually reasonable and have never been so onerous to prevent me from buying tickets.
I don't know why more people don't know about and/or use Goldstar. It's a best-kept secret for people who like to attend cultural events, eat food, watch movies, take tours, etc, etc. etc. Goldstar is for people who like to "do stuff."
Great prices, Great service, Excellent Value
I have been using Goldstar for at least 5 years and other family and friends have used it for much longer. I have had excellent service and seats. When purchasing tickets on Goldstar or any ticketing site, you need to read carefully and make sure you hit the right buttons at check out. I feel they are very upfront about what shows can and cannot be cancelled and what that time line is. I often buy "comp" tickets to shows and it clearly states before you purchase exactly how much the fees are it also states what fees are for tickets to the show in other price ranges. Because I have had such good luck with Goldstar for all these years, I finally bought the Red Velvet package this year and I get free tickets to all kinds of shows, and I mean literally FREE, the price at check out is $0! I bought to a comedy club and then was able to add friends to my party later. We didn't do it the proper way on Goldstar because I didn't send the link, but I was able to email Goldstar the night before the show and they added a dinner package and sat us all together as I had requested. To me that is excellent customer service and that is what pushed me closer to buying their VIP experience. I don't understand the negative reviews on this site, most sound like people who do not fully read before they make a purchase. Personally I have never had a problem and I don't know anyone who has. If you are unsure due to these negative reviews, give them a shot buy getting cheap tickets and see for yourself how great they are.

Account credit/voucher
I have $71 credit on my account from a previous cancelled show. I would like to use my credit to purchase tickets for an upcoming show. When I go to the website to purchase the tickets, it ask for a voucher number. I do not have a voucher number. I have been emailing Goldstar’s customer service and no one is getting back to me. This is really frustrating!
Desired outcome: Would like a voucher number so I can use my credit.

Goldstar won't refund the payment I requested on 5/8 for 3 tickets due to COVID-19
Goldstar is refusing to refund the payment I requested on 5/8 for the 3 tickets purchased due to COVID-19. They've rescheduled the concert 3 times. Originally set for 4/11, it was first moved to 8/22, now to 12/19. I sent a refund request on 5/8 and my credit card company is also disputing the charges. They offer only credits, not refunds. This company prioritizes profit over customer welfare. Purchase for the Saban Theatre event on Dec 19 was cancelled, including 3 Balcony tickets, but only a credit was offered, not a refund.

Bought tickets for a event that has been postponed to be announced 2021, I want a cash refund. I bought tickets to an event ( Pittsburghs All Star beer & wine& cocktail fest) scheduled for June 27th. The event was Postponed For TBA 2021. I understand why the event was canceled for the date. I am a nurse that works in Cancer Center I was actually glad it was Canceled. I didn't expect to get a very short email stating that they were pushing it to next year without given the option to refund my money. I have no idea what will be going on in 2021. I spent $91.90 on tickets for a event for a particular date for this year. I have reached out about four times I've gotten the same message each time that they are refusing to refund my money. I asked to speak to a supervisor but got the same message as before. I don't believeThat even by next year it'll be safe for me working with cancer patients to be able to go into event with thousands of people. I can't see why it's a huge deal for this company not to grant cash refund to be returned to my credit card. I did not want gold star cash or credit. Because again I'm still quarantining as much as possible due to my close association with cancer patients. Is it fair for them to refuse refunds since none of this virus was the customer fault.

A performance was canceled because of the Covid outbreak so I requested a cash refund but was denied but was only given "credit" and bonus I had purchased a ticket for La Scala Ballet Company's performance that was canceled due to the covid outbreak. I requested a refund but was only given store credit and a 10% bonus. I definitely do NOT want credit because I do not plan to go to concerts or public events during the covid outbreak or anytime in the next year while there is no vaccine since I live with an individual who is immune deficient.

Contacted Goldstar more than once for a refund
Contacted Goldstar more than once for a refund. Goldstar put credit for their services into my account instead of the *** without asking. I purchased tickets to the Dancing with the Stars live show in late March. I contacted them for a refund as COVID was heating up and the show was cancelled - they indicated they would get back to me. After I sent a second email, I got a reply saying they needed more time to get back to me. I checked out their site tonight as it's now 30 days past show date. The site indicates that customers are getting credits into their account for refunds. I asked them specifically a month ago for a cash refund. I cannot and do not want to use a *** goldstar credit for a show that was cancelled. I received no email - either individually or as part of a large group - that refunds were being offered as store credits, and I would have not accepted at that time.

Goldstar customer service is unable to is a refund for a canceled concert
Goldstar customer service is unable to is a refund for a canceled concert. On 3/3 I purchased 4 tickets totaling $138.80 for the Stylistics: A Night of Soul performance schedule for 3/22. The venue Agua Caliente canceled the show due CA ban on gatherings in response to COVID19. Anticipating the cancelation I contacted Goldstar on 3/13 inquiring about a refund/credit options. A customer service rep did not get back with me about my options until 5/1, after I declined their issuance of an "available credit" of $138.80 to be used against a future purchase. The customer service rep stated the she could not issue a refund and all sales were finial. I am a senior citizen in a high risk group for COVID19. As a result, I am leery about attending theatrical events and concerts in the future. At this point until there is a vaccine for COVID19 I am not interested in doing so, when things are supposedly back to normal. For this reason I am requesting assistance from the ComplaintsBoard.com to get my payment back from Goldstar. Thank you

My complaint is based on Goldstar making false claims on refunding their clients when shows are cancelled On March 15th I purchased tickets for a dinner show through Goldstars website. Before purchasing the ticket on their website it stated that if shows were cancelled there would be a refund. On March 16th I received an email that the show I purchased was cancelled due to the Coronavirus and to not contact them they would contact me back with information. However I still sent an email on March 17th because I found this to be odd. I asked if I would be receiving my refund of ***. I was then sent back an email saying too "easy cancel" my show to get credit for another show. I kindly explained to the customer service that I did not want to easy cancel and that I wanted the full refund that was stated online. I never got an answer back until April 1st when I received an email saying that all refunds from the company are going to be used as store credit. Meaning that customers were not going to get their money back and instead would be able to use credit on another show for a year or to donate their money to their organizations affiliates. This is an extremely misleading practice because they are taking people's money under false pretenses. I tried to email them back and realized that I was receiving an automatic email from their customer service . They don't even have a phone number to contact them . This is a very sketchy company and should be investigated . I never asked for store credit and would have never purchased tickets from them had I known. I want my full refund of *** dollars.

I bought 2 tickets for Hamilton for a total of *** The performance was cancelled due to COVID-19 and I request a full refund of the amount paid. On March 6, I bought two tickets for the performance of Hamilton at the Kennedy Center that would take place on July 16 at 7:30pm. Confirmation number is XXXXXXXX and total amount paid is *** using Mastercard Credit Card. The performance was cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic and Goldstar is applying the same company policy that applies to any cancellation, providing a store credit. I contacted Goldstar costumer service to request a full refund by e-mail, but their response on May 14 was that they have issued Goldstar store credit + 10% for all canceled purchases and that this credit does not expire. I find this solution completely inadequate for these circumstances since: 1) Event cancellation was completely out of control of the customer and due to a global health crisis event, but they are applying regular terms of service like if it were normal times. 2) Customers who bought their tickets at Kennedy Center got a full refund due to event cancellation. 3) I rarely use Goldstar and find it very unlikely that I will ever be able to use the store credit, even when events reopen; especially considering the large amount involved. 4) I, as a customer, am also assuming the risk the service goes out of business and I never be able to see my money back again. The business should understand that this is not a situation where it can provide store credit as it does for any cancellation or in cases when the customer wants to reschedule a reservation. It should refund the payments to all those affected by Covid-19, providing exemplary customer service. Otherwise, in my opinion this business is risking a class-action suit from all affected customers.

I purchased 3 tickets for a cruise in Chicago that was set for St. Patrick's Day. They canceled the cruise due to Covid and refuses to give money back On March 7, my cousin who stays in Chicago invited me and my family out to for The St. Patrick's Day cruise that was promoted and organized by Goldstar Events. I then went online to purchase three tickets from their site on March 9, tickets were only suppose to be $9.99 however it came to a whopping total of $42.72 including service and ticketing fees. We were never notified that the cruise had been canceled, it took us to go into the site to see that it had been canceled. Nobody ever reached out to us regarding the cancellation or even offering any kind of apology or explanation until days after the cruise. Then when inquiring about refunds, they constantly ignored my emails or sent me running around in circles assuring they would get back with everyone. I literally had to continually contact them just to get any kind of updates, now I have reached out to them yet again after VIP Nightlife reached out to me via email stating that they had approved all refunds for this event however Goldstar is refusing to give back refunds! They are making customers who have paid their money, accept a store credit to use for one of their events. I have reached out to Goldstar stating to them that I would not accept a store credit because it will never be used. I'm not from the state of Illinois nor will I ever be supporting this organization again attending anything they have to offer due to the unprofessional experience I've already been dealing with. They are refusing to give me my money back and I feel this is not only unfair but it should be against the law. When purchasing the tickets, it said that "I could not cancel my tickets and receive a refund!" But I had nothing to do with this cancellation and I feel due to the severity of the situation and also due to the circumstances, I am very much deserving of a full refund! It was not my fault that this event was cancelled and I don't think I should just be forced to lose out on my money when I've already lost money when I rented a car and hotel to go to Chicago back in March all to find out the cruise had been canceled, I feel I have been highly inconvenienced enough and honestly I've been given this run around for over a month now to be told that they aren't giving refunds. This was not the customers' fault or doing so I don't feel we should be treated as if it were. Had it been my fault, or I needed to cancel, I'm sure they wouldn't have cared or even attempted to accommodate me with store credit but now they are going to just make me take a credit that I already know I will never use so I am losing out yet again! This is unfair and not right. This company knows they need to release the funds of those who don't plan to attend their events! I want my full refund back!

A refund was requested March 18 from Goldstar Events Inc for a cancelled March 28 Teatro Zinzanni show in Chicago
A refund was requested March 18 from Goldstar Events Inc for a cancelled March 28 Teatro Zinzanni show in Chicago. Tickets were purchased February 15 through Goldstar Events Inc for a March 28 showing of Teatro ZinZannni dinner show in Chicago that has been cancelled due to the State of Illinois closing all restaurants. *** was paid with my debit card to Goldstar under confirmation number #XXXXXXXX. On March 18,2020, I called Teatro Zinzanni's box office to request a refund. Teatro's box office informed me no funds had been received from Goldstar and I would need to contact Goldstar direct. An emailed was sent to Goldstar March 18 to request a refund back to my debit card for tickets purchased. Goldstar responded via email on the same day as follows: Hi there-We got your email and we're going to read it as soon as we can. We normally don't use auto-responses like this but our Customer Service Team is responding to an overwhelming amount of emails right now so we'd like to take this opportunity to try and answer some of the most common questions we are receiving.Canceled/Postponed show If your show has been canceled, we will send you an email with all the details, please keep an eye on your inbox over the next few days.Reschedule If you would like to reschedule your tickets for a show in the next 2 weeks to a later date (late April-May or beyond) please send us a couple of date options that work for you, include your purchase order # and we will make that change if it's possible and send you a new confirmation as soon as we can. I emailed again March 23 advising an update on my refund. Goldstar responded on the 23rd with the following: Hi ***, We are dealing with hundreds of events and thousands of performances that need to be canceled or postponed. I apologize if this is taking longer than anyone would like, but I can assure you we are working around the clock (almost) to get this done for you and for all of our members. We just ask for a little more patience on your part as every box office we work with is handling things their own way and the coordination of this takes some time. Best,Ronnie Goldstar Customer Service. I emailed Goldstar again March 26: Good Morning Goldstar, Once again I am checking on the refund requested of $675.00. You indicated in your last email: 'every box office we work with is handling things their own way and the coordination of this takes some time'. However, I called the Teatro Zinzanni's box office and was informed you had not sent their box office the money for the tickets. This means you have the money I paid for the tickets. This will be reported to the appropriate agencies if a refund is not received immediately. I also emailed Teatro March 26th and this was their response:

Bought 2 tickets for a concert on 4/15 for $67.50, order was changed
Bought 2 tickets for a concert on 4/15 for $67.50. Concert was rescheduled to 6/15 due to COVID-19. Refused refunds. Bought 2 tickets for An Evening with a band. Transaction on 2/29, 2 Rear Orchestra tickets at $27.50 each, service fee $6.25 each, total $67.50. Used $5 rewards, $10 Goldstar credit, $52.50 on credit card. Email on 3/27 said event postponed or canceled, no immediate action needed, update in 7-10 days. Email on 4/7, event postponed, original ticket valid for new date. Email on 5/1, concert rescheduled to 6/10, bring eTickets, no cancellations or refunds. Event was canceled or postponed due to COVID-19, now set for 6/10. Can't attend new date, bought tickets for 4/15 event, not 6/10. Goldstar suggests giving tickets away, but we bought them for ourselves. It's wrong to force attendance on a new date, it voids the original contract. Unethical to profit from the pandemic. No certainty events will proceed as rescheduled. Goldstar should refund money, we've been patient. We want $52.50 back on our credit card, $15 back to Goldstar account.
