Very interesting - I just looked over the weekend - had similar charges. I called them and they were closed over the weekend. So not only did they charge this month - they have been charging my credit card since January. I don't know how I missed it. So I called my credit card company and it's not being charged as revolving which mean monthly someone is entering my information from TLG*GREATFUN. I called them this morning, pushed zero and demanded to speak to a manager. After getting a speal from the woman on the phone about what great offers they can provide to me - BLA BLA - THIS IS A SCAM! Management credited my Visa for the last four months and said I would have to contact Corporate to reverse the other charges. Call them now... Great Fun - [protected] - and their Corporate Fax number is [protected].

I just dug a little deeper, you need to send greatfun your travel receipt to get your cash reward. YOu have to look into the web site in order to see how to do it, they don't make it easy for you to get your reward, you have to do some work, and by the time you go through all the leg work, you may as well have not joined since your time is worth money, you spent what you'd get from them, just doing the work to get it (time/money).

Unauthorized monthly charges of $11.99 started showing up on my credit card statements under TLG*GreatFN. I called the 800 # on my credit card statement to try to get them to refund me the charges. The first time I called, the woman on the phone sounded like she was calling from India or somewhere foreign. She said that all she could do was cancel my membership and I had to fax a request to refund the charges made to my account to the Executive department. Since I don't have a fax machine, I asked if I could talk to someone from the Executive department but she told me that they don't take phone calls. (Very suspicious and strange!) So I called a second time and talked with someone different. He sounded like he was from India too! So at this point, I'm thinking this is a total scam. The second person I talked to kept trying to convince me to keep my membership and ignored me when I kept telling him "no I want to cancel my membership and have the charges credited back to my account". He finally hung up on me! I told my credit card about this and I'm hoping that they will take action and get my account credited for the amounts charged.

I seem to be the latest victim. I checked my statement today (I do once a month) and my credit card rep. gave me the # to dispute this charge and advised that I call the company ASAP as he seen this situation often. If it is that common, and so many people dispute these charges, how does this company continue to exist? I wrote the company and mentioned that I would report them to the BBB and that my credit card company is already working on the charge; let's see if they will actually fix it.

I also get scam. My Bank card was charged $11.99 x 2 in the month of july 15 & 21. I have no idea how this happened. I'm not an online shopper but i remember purchasing products from Avon. when i notice my charged on July 18, I called Great fun To have it cancelled. But just today ( 07/22/08) I check my account and saw that they had charged my card again for $11.99. I am calling Great fun or whatsoever their name is to have this resolve. This company is a scam and need to be stop.

I just checked my July credit card statement and found a charge for $12.99 for GreatFn. Called the credit card company who said called Great Fun right away. Said if I disputed the charge it would take much longer. After two calls I did get the membership canceled. The first guy, Chris, said I signed up through Hot wire which I assured him i didn't. He tried to cut short the conversation until I said WHOA WHOA WHOA,
I'd like the money credited back to me. He put me on hold for 10 minutes and never came back on the line. Called back and talked to Jeffrey (who was much nicer and apologetic). He said the charge would be credited in 10-15 business days. Guess I'll have to wait and watch my statement. What a miserable way to spend 30 minutes of my time!

I just found out I have been scammed also. $9.99 a month for probably a little OVER a year. They got my credit card # through Arista Checks. A company I used to purchase checks through last year. I am in total shock not to mention PISSED OFF. What can I do? Someone please help!

TLG Great Fun is a total rip off! I was charged $11.99 for the past one year. They charged me sometimes twice a month, changing their values between $10.99 and $11.99 so that I would not suspect that it is from the same company. Gosh. I am to be blamed too for my laziness of checking my bank statements. They have taken about a total of $230 from my bank account! I am going to complain this to the fraud department as soon as i can. This company is a total fraud. It should be made known to everyone so that they will not take our hard earned money without authorization from the bank.

I, too, had $11.99 charge on my credit card in conjunction with a purchase I made wth ShoeBuy.com. Great Fun gave me the run around and told me twice to call back because computers were down, so I contacted Shoe Buy. When you purchase from ShoeBuy, this company works in conjunction with them. If you accept their offer of $10 off a pair of shoes, you are agreeing to pay $11.99 per month from then on for entertainment tickets/discount tickets, etc. The way I settled this is I cancelled my Discover Card because they refused to work with me also. They said they did not start the charge and they will not stop it. This doesn't say much for the reputation of Discover Card, as well as Shoebuy.com. Just beware of ShoeBuy and Discover Card.

This has happened to me, too. I found two charges of $11.99 (over two months) on my credit card. I called them and after arguing with me (the rep tried to get me to agree to another scheme - that I could get my refund in the form of vouchers toward different products, which would keep me "in the club"). Finally, she told me that they would credit my account. Well, after three months, nothing's been credited back to me. I just called them again and they've promised again to credit my account in the next one or two billing statements. It's unbelievable.

The same thing happened to me... I just called and they said they had no account for me? I asked then why am I receiving charges each month. They don't have a record..? Now, supposebly they are sending me by mail a form to get a refund. I guess I'll start a complaint through my credit card.

I noticed a phantom charge if $11.99 on my visa card paid to a company called "TLG*GreatFun*. Since I did not recognize the name or transaction date, I called Visa to have the charge disputed. The Visa dispute emplyee informed me that this is a legitimate business with " less than reputable marketing tactics" . Bottom line, this company uses other merchant websites (sporting event tickets through Fandango in my case). Their ploy is to offer you information on how to get a discount on future purchases. Once you click to "see" the information...you just "agreed" to a self-renewing monthly "membership" to TLG Great Fun. My credit card has been charged $11.99 for each for the last 8 months, but I hadn't noticed it until now. WHAT A SCAM!
You have to contact them to cancel your membership (be sure to save your cancellation confirmation number). If you complain long enough, you might get the last debit credited back to you.

I got charged 35.99 and I called them and they said I agreed to something online that I didn't. I asked them how they got my card number to have access at my account and they said from Colunbia House. When I ordered some DVDs there was something that offer a $10 discount I check ok and somehow that was the way they were able to get my information from Columbia House. Its some kind of rip off I demanded my money back and I'm going to get in touch with Columbia House DVD club and complain to them about giving my information out.

I got charged 11.99 for a service i did not sign up for. I keep hearing it is from using Fandango. Fandango has no right to use your CC for other unauthorized charges! Check your CC from Great Fun 11.99. This scam is going around quickly

We just got charged $59.99 while our card is in a safety deposit box.
I had never heard of this company and immediatly called the credit company Orchard.
Maybe the credit company are in on this too, if they don't credit the money back.
They need at least a signiture or an approval via phone on a recorded message.
This company TLG should be sued, who is with me on that!

My card was charged for $12.99. I spent half hour talk with them and they agreed to refund. Not sure if they do. Also they told me I agreed something when I registered online for the TrueCredit but I didn't. I will wait for a couple of days to see if it get back. What else I can do? Looks like they have good service and they refund. Just by answer phone calls they are at large? People like us who noticed this are very limited. Who knows how to fight back for public rights?

The exact same thing happened to me with this company. They told me that I expressed an interest in the membership and I said "why because your box popped up on my screen and when I x'ed out of it, that was my expression of interest?" This company is nuts thinking that they would get away with it. If it were not for my bank noticing the charges, I may have lost a lot of money. I hope that TLG Great Fun gets taken out of business for their illegal drafting of money.

apparently this is what you need to do. Call them and they will keep trying to sell you stuff. NO matter what they say only say. I would like to cancel my membership - dont say yes or yeah or anything. Just those words. Then ask them for a cancellation number. Write it down. Then ask them to reimburse you for previous charges. If they say they can not then ask for the supervisor. That is the support line. Tell the supervisor that you spoke with your bank you know that they are allowed to reimburse you for 4 months. Tell them to do that.
Then hopefully they will. Meanwhile - also shut down your account.
ours was activated through fandango. We did not sign up for a membership for anything. Dont know how they were able to do this - but they did. So - keep that in mind.
the number i called was [protected]
Oh and call your bank they will have the number for you to call as well as your membership number - that will save you time when you call.
Good luck.

I was taking a look at my bank statement and low and behold, there were charges of $14.99 by the same company for the past 3 months. I thought I was going crazy because I just couldn't remember why I was getting these charges every month. Thank goodness I caught it fairly early and was able to call them after I saw the phone number of the company posted up here, so thanks to all of you.

I too have been "scammed". I was billed $59.99 and still have not heard from my Discover Card after 2 letters.
I will call the numbers you good folks have given. I did make the mistake of cashing that $ 9.25 check. I sure won't do that again. I am 70, retired and am ill with cancer. If anyone has any other suggestions let us know.

Thankfully the fraud and security department for Juniper/Barclays bank called to verify unusual activity on my card. These ### tried to STEAL $119.99
Never heard of the company until I called Juniper to see what their call was about.
Please look out for activity on your cards involving TLG/Great Fun (Should be called) TLG Con artists (And not very intelligent ones at that).

I've gotten a charge on my checking account and flipped out. I never signed up or authorized the company to take any kind of money from me. Called them right up and demanded that they cancel and credit my account. I also called my bank and the rep was on the phone with me when I talked to this company. My charge was still pending so this can be voided. The bank rep was also on the line for the supervisors confirmation for the reversal. I agree this company has to be stopped from doing this repeatedly to people. I've cancelled my card so my information can not be given to another so called legit company.

I was looking at my husbands credit cardstatment since he never does. And i noticed a charge for119.99 to a MP GreatFun so i called this company and had to deal with some lady telling me about this membership that i know we never signed up for they told us that the only way to sign up for it is throuhg Fandango. Well we never have used Fandango in our lives, so after much talk and getting angry at this man on the phone he told us that it will be cancelled and we will get our 11.99 back but we told him that we want the whole 119.99 back to our credit card but he said through his notes we were only charged 11.99 but our bank statement says differently. So we are going to contact bank of america and get a new card and cancel that one and hopefully we will get our whole amount back but doubt it.

When I called this company they said my husband had signed up for it on priceline. Since I can't say yes he did or no he didn't...I canceled the membership. The man I talked to was polite and said he would send me a $50 check for trying the services. Unfornantly I have already been charged $11.99 for the last 4 months before I realized it. I guess I need to keep a better eye on my checking account.
