Unwelcoming Environment: My Experience with Healthful Chat
I recently visited Healthful Chat (healthfulchat.org) and unfortunately, my experience was not a positive one. As a guest, I was disappointed to find that I was not welcomed with open arms. In fact, some of the moderators and chatters treated me like dirt. I understand that there may be rules in place to ensure a safe and respectful environment, but the way I was treated was unnecessary.
One of the issues I encountered was the inability to change my nickname. I wanted to wait until I found a nickname that I felt comfortable with before committing to it long-term. However, this was not allowed, and I was stuck with a nickname that I wasn't entirely happy with. To make matters worse, some of the chatters made fun of me for being a guest and not having a permanent nickname like they did. It made me feel like I wasn't welcome and that my presence was not appreciated.
Another issue I encountered was the guest prejudice that seemed to exist on the site. The moderators and some of the chatters seemed to have a negative attitude towards guests, assuming that most of them were there to troll. This was not the case for me, as I genuinely wanted to participate in the anxiety chat and seek support. However, I was met with hostility and negativity instead.
I also found it disheartening that some of the chatters believed that anxiety disorders were something that you were stuck with for life. When I suggested that it was possible to overcome Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), I was met with skepticism and pessimism. This was not the supportive environment that I was hoping for.
Overall, my experience with Healthful Chat was not a positive one. I believe that the moderators and chatters could benefit from being more welcoming and understanding towards guests. If they want guests to get nicknames, they should try to be nicer to them instead of treating them like dirt.
Healthful Chat Review: Unhelpful RAs and Toxic Environment for Mental Health Support
This site, Healthful Chat, is a place where you can find support for your mental health issues. The moderators and RAs, or room assistants, are volunteers who also chat with the users. This means that they can switch between being a regular chatter and a moderator at any time. However, some of these RAs, like Stayathome78 and CGJ, are not doing their job properly.
CGJ has been known to tell chatters to "shut it" and then mute them when they respond with "get lost". This is hypocritical and shows that he likes to throw his weight around. Stayathome78, on the other hand, engages in long arguments with chatters in the anxiety support room. He even insults them with phrases like "kiss my a" and "remove the stick from your a". This behavior is not helpful for people who are struggling with anxiety.
It's ironic that CGJ is a senior RA but had to tell Stayathome78 to stop fighting with other chatters. Another moderator had to intervene as well. It's not a good sign when the RAs themselves can't follow the rules they enforce.
If you're looking for a chat room where catfights are the norm, then this site might be for you. But if you're seeking genuine anxiety support, it's best to look elsewhere.
Moderating on Healthful Chat Needs Improvement: Review of CGJ Swamptoast's Incompetence and Double Standards
The moderating on Healthful Chat is not up to par. There is a user named CGJ Swamptoast who seems to have a problem with anyone who has an intelligent opinion and calls out their hypocrisy or their failure. It's frustrating because he will come into the room halfway through an argument and immediately shadow ban and shadow mute guests. One minute he says he is retired and the next he says "I'm a site Mod". It's hard to get through to him because he doesn't seem to care about resolving anything, he just likes to shadow ban/kick and talk about the weather.
If you want to get on his good side, you have to compliment him and then he'll let you get away with anything. The guy is incompetent and will let his friends do anything but ban anyone who he doesn't recognize as well as falsely claiming that you're already permanently banned when it's only your second time there. It's ridiculous.
Swamptoast routinely lets chatters repeatedly use racist and homophobic terms (the n word and the f word) and when you tell him, all he says is "be respectful". If you then quote the rules which say it won't be tolerated, he then threatens you with blocking your ISP. BUT he routinely lets two permanently banned chatters stay and swear all the time and talk about banned topics and only says to them "if you want to be here then behave". It's a double standard.
There are two well-known chatters who are permanently banned but show up all the time and Swamptoast says things like "I'll let you stay if you behave". What's the point in permanently banning people if you then let them come back? When you point out this hypocrisy, he threatens to ban your ISP for "arguing" with him and says things like "I'm tired of your complaining" and tells you to go to another site if you don't like it there. The guy pretends he gives so much of his time to the site when really he just spends his time there chatting about movies and gets annoyed if you interrupt that.
Overall, Healthful Chat could be a great resource for those seeking support and community, but the moderating needs to be improved. It's frustrating to see a user like CGJ Swamptoast abuse their power and let their personal biases get in the way of creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. Hopefully, the site administrators will take notice and make the necessary changes to ensure that Healthful Chat is a place where everyone feels heard and respected.
Healthful Chat Review: Pros and Cons of This Online Support Group
I just wanted to add my two cents about Healthful Chat, because I saw a review that didn't really cover some important points. First of all, it's a UK site, so the legal age is 16, but I really think it should be for 18 and older. There's a lot of talk about adult content, and you don't want your kids being exposed to that kind of thing or being befriended by older men. The moderators agree that 16 is too young, so keep your children safe.
Another thing to keep in mind is that only about 12-15 of the 50 channels are ever used, so if you're looking for support for something specific like BDD or parenting, you might not find anyone to talk to. And while the site is moderated, there aren't always moderators around, so it's not always well moderated. Plus, the quality of moderating depends on the moderators themselves, and some of them can be rude or disrespectful.
That being said, there are some really nice and understanding people on the site, and if you come on at the right time, you can find some great support. It's not really a place for building long-term relationships, but it can be a good source of company when you need it. Just keep in mind that not everyone on the site is respectful, and some people might not be there for the same reasons as you.
Healthful Chat Moderators: A Review of Incompetence and Bullying
This website, Healthful Chat, is moderated, but the moderating is not very good. As Emily mentioned, one of the moderators, Forever, is on a power trip and is a complete bully. Forever bullies chatters by muting them and keeping them muted until she logs off. The other moderators won't unmute you while she's there, which means she can keep chatters on mute. While you're on mute, she either ignores your messages or just sends snarky comments like "so how are you?" or "you seem to think you have a lot of fans here" or "not much going on with me". It's part of the bullying to avoid talking about why she muted you and to provoke you. She keeps you on mute and then logs off, and you have to wait until another moderator comes on and ask them to unmute you.
Rosie is another moderator who tells people that graphic details of death can be discussed in the anxiety room because "it causes" anxiety, even though it's supposed to be done in the bereavement room like other moderators say all the time. If you call her out, she accuses you of "acting like a moderator" but she has been called out by former moderators who are now chatters for making up the rules and breaking them. Rosie claims to have lots of conditions, like PTSD, but has no symptoms at all and doesn't need any treatment for it. She also claims she has COP, agoraphobia, health anxiety, and social anxiety but goes out all the time on public transport and in cars, she goes shopping and goes to appointments without any issue. She also uses elevators with ease, goes to social events all the time including activity group events and walks on beaches and smokes. She never seems to have any concerns with her health and said she manages it by "self-reassurance". Recently, Rosie decided that she has OCD, but she doesn't have any obsessions or compulsions and doesn't have a diagnosis for it either.
Cally is another moderator who is not very good at her job. Her main trick is to shadow mute and shadow ban anyone she doesn't like. She hates guests and does it to them the most. She is snarky and generally provokes fights because she jumps on every little thing. You can call out her incompetence, but do so at the risk of being kicked and banned.
Overall, this website is in desperate need of moderators, so maybe that's why they'll accept people who make up site rules and make up health conditions. It's a shame because the website could be a great resource for people who need support, but with the current moderators, it's not a safe or helpful place to be.
Review of Healthful Chat: Moderation, Favoritism, and Triggering Topics
I gotta say, as someone who's been using Healthful Chat for a while now, I'm not surprised by some of the comments here. It's true that there are some perverts on the site, but I think the moderators do a pretty good job of keeping them in check. I mean, they're only human, right? They can't catch everything.
One thing I do agree with is that there does seem to be some favoritism going on. I've seen mods let regular chatters get away with things that new chatters get in trouble for. And sometimes it seems like the mods aren't paying enough attention to the people who really need help. But overall, I think they do a good job.
I don't really have an opinion on Forever, since I haven't interacted with her much. But I do think it's important to remember that the mods are just trying to do their job. They're not out to get anyone.
As for the self-harm and suicide talk, I can understand why it's not allowed. It can be really triggering for some people. But at the same time, I think it's important to be able to talk about those things in a safe space. Maybe there could be a separate room for that kind of discussion?
I don't know about the rumors of mods reading personal messages. I haven't experienced that myself. But I do think it's important to remember that this is a public chat room, so anything you say could potentially be seen by others.
And yeah, some chatters can be pretty defensive. But I think it's important to remember that the mods are just trying to keep things running smoothly. If you have an issue, it's probably best to report it rather than argue with them.
Overall, I think Healthful Chat is a pretty good site. It's not perfect, but what site is? As for the Depression/Trivia site, I haven't used it much, so I can't really comment on that. But I do think it's important to remember that they're two separate sites, even though they share a server. And as for the pervs, yeah, it's annoying, but there are ways to deal with them. Just close your PMs and put them on ignore. And if they're really bad, report them.
Healthfulchat Review: A Great Resource for Mental Health Support with Some Moderation Issues
This website is a great resource for those seeking help with their mental health. As some other reviews have mentioned, there can be some issues with certain chatters and moderators. However, the site does have an ignore feature which can be used to avoid any bothersome individuals. It's a helpful feature, especially since we all have our own mental health issues and may not always get along.
The moderators are volunteers who also use the chat. They are not perfect, but they do try their best. They have to deal with a lot, including chatters who have been banned and are now stalking them and threatening their lives and the lives of their families.
Before entering the site, rules are posted that should be read. Unfortunately, many chatters don't read them and then become defensive and abusive when the moderators try to enforce them. Their friends then team up to fight the moderators.
In my opinion, there are some moderators who stand out. Forever is the best moderator, but unfortunately, she gets a lot of hate because she tries to ensure that the site rules are followed and that chatters are safe. Jameson is also a decent moderator who will help chatters and listen to them if they are respectful. Cally is super sweet, caring, and helpful. Tranquilspirit is not very active, but I haven't had any issues with them so far. Swamptoast is also not very active, but the few interactions I've had with them have been satisfying. Parzival takes frequent breaks from chat, but when he is moderating, he seems to want to help.
There are two moderators that I avoid completely whenever possible - Southerngent and bros. Southerngent can be kind and helpful at times, but he can also be mean. You never know which side of him you're going to get. Bros seems okay, but he misses a lot. There was trolling going on, and a few chatters would set up chatters they didn't like. When the targeted chatters responded after being harassed, they would bring it to bros' attention. Bros then muted the targeted chatter every single time. This went on nightly when there were no other mods available. He's either biased or his gaming while in chat makes it so he can't make good calls. Both Southerngent and Bros will call out chatters in the room instead of taking it to pm, which is disruptive and goes against the site's rules.
Overall, if you follow the rules, don't argue with the moderators, ignore the trolls, use the ignore feature, and avoid the moderators you clash with, you should have a good experience on Healthfulchat.
Healthful Chat: A Dangerous Chat That Should Be Shut Down
Healthful Chat is a website that claims to offer support to people who are struggling with mental health issues. However, my experience with the moderators on this site has been terrible. They are poorly selected from the user pool and seem to be completely unprepared to deal with people in need of support. In fact, they often bully users, including those who are suicidal. It's not uncommon to see moderators telling users to "move on from that subject and call a help line" or "not question moderators" before banning them for 48 hours.
I believe that the reason for this terrible moderation is because the moderators are handpicked by a user named Bluegobi, who is notoriously toxic and aggressive. Bluegobi is in favor of a "ban on the spot" policy and favors moderators who follow this approach. Unfortunately, these moderators lack empathy and are often cold and harsh to users. Bluegobi openly admits to having issues with self-harm and depression, yet was given the important role of selecting and training moderators and room assistants.
As a result, users who find support and build relationships on this site may suddenly find themselves banned by a moderator in a mood swing. Sexual predators also freely mingle among the users, searching for vulnerable people, especially minors, who they proceed to exploit. Incompetent moderation fails to keep them in check, and in fact, might ban any user for being loud about it. I even wrote to them about the many pedophiles they refused to remove, and that was enough to get me perma-banned.
To make matters worse, a large number of the users are young teenagers, some even victims of sexual abuse, who lie about their age and engage in conversations with men in their late 40s or older. The age acceptance rule of Healthful Chat admits minors who are 16 years old.
While there may be some great people on this site, the fact that it lacks regular users despite being around for more than a decade is proof enough that something is wrong. Do not be deceived by the fake reviews, as this site runs a business and bots constantly spam ads about "online counseling." Anyone willing to spend a week there will surely find evidence of everything stated here.
In my opinion, Healthful Chat is a dangerous chat and should be shut down. It is a threat to public health. If anyone knows of agencies where I can report all this, please reply. I confess I really tried, but so far, to no avail.
Healthful Chat Moderating: Unprofessional and Ineffective
Healthful Chat (healthfulchat.org) is a website that offers support and resources for those dealing with mental health issues. However, it seems that the moderating on this site is not up to par. While some sympathy may be given, it is not a place to get real help. If you are looking for more than breathing techniques for anxiety and sympathy for loss, it is recommended that you seek professional help.
The newest recruits to moderating, Sage Aurora and Rosie, have been criticized for their poor moderating skills. Rosie is quick to post every rule she can think of without reading what's been said. She will post a rule at a chatter if someone says they don't want to PM but the chatter has asked publicly to PM and so hasn't done anything wrong. She'll post a rule for swearing but will swear herself. She'll tell people not to talk about food because it's "triggering for people with eating disorders" then she'll tell everyone what she'll be eating that day and will repeat this in different rooms like Anxiety, Lounge, PTSD, Motivation. She doesn't like guests and if you're friends with her, she'll let you get away with stuff. Rosie never admits when she is wrong instead she says "let's get back to support" or says she's just got out of bed.
It seems like she must have been trained by Forever because Forever is still up to the same old thing of letting her friends get away with things, targeting guests and being rude to people. Forever's new tactic is to secretly mute and remove chat permission. This basically means she secretly mutes you so you don't know and then she removes chat permissions which mean you cannot change rooms and you cannot use the site, but you still think you're live on the site. Forever does this when you disagree with her not because you break rules. Other moderators have confirmed they use covert bans but mainly on people who are clearly trolling not just because they dislike someone.
Aurora has the same problem as Rosie and doesn't know how to comprehend words on a screen and so just repeats "respect the RAs and respect others or you will be removed". She will say this no matter what the issue is because according to Aurora if you don't agree with her then you are disrespectful.
Sage used to hang out in philosophy and was obnoxious every time he was there, he was so obnoxious that chatters would say "I almost wish Sage was here" whenever a really abusive troll came into the room. Sage likes to think he's always right and doesn't like to admit when he's wrong even when everyone tells him that he's wrong. Much like Rosie he jumps the gun and doesn't read the whole conversation, instead he just sees the last comment and decides you must be doing something wrong and puts up a rule or mutes or kicks. When he's told to read the whole chat to prove the chatter hasn't done anything wrong, he ignores this.
It is clear that these moderators give moderating a bad name. It is important for moderators to be professional and treat chatters with respect. Southerngent used to be a moderator and since he quit he goes into anxiety room and has said that as a moderator he wasn't always professional and thinks a lot of chatters are idiots. If a moderator thinks of chatters as idiots, then they're going to treat them like trash and be unprofessional. It is important for moderators to remember that they are there to help and support those who are struggling with mental health issues.
Healthful Chat Review: Unhelpful Moderators and Lack of Privacy Policies
I only gave Healthful Chat one star because I had a really bad experience with one of their moderators, CGJ. I think that this site is supposed to be a place where people can go to get support from others who are going through similar things, but having moderators who are not able to do their jobs properly is not helpful.
I visited the site three times over the course of a month, just to see if it was worth joining. The last time I was there, CGJ accused me of being someone else and banned me for 48 hours. I don't know why he did this, but he has said that he has a condition that affects his cognitive function and that he is prone to extreme mood swings. Maybe that's why he did what he did.
CGJ had already threatened to kick someone else off the site for asking women to private message him about sex, which is not allowed on the site. When someone else did the same thing, I called him a slimeball. CGJ asked me to be nice, but I said that I wasn't nice to slimeballs. Five minutes later, he told me to use my "proper nickname" and banned me when I said that I didn't have one.
I contacted the site to let them know that someone else might get banned if they have the same nickname as me. I don't know if CGJ made up the "proper nickname" thing or if he just didn't understand the data he was looking at. Either way, it's not a good sign.
The site doesn't have a cookie policy or a privacy policy, which means that they could be collecting and using our data without our knowledge. This is not good, especially since other big sites like Google, Ebay, and Amazon all have cookie policies.
Overall, I don't think that Healthful Chat is a good site for people who are looking for support. I would recommend checking out 7cups instead, which sounds much better. The "peer support" on this site varies from unhelpful to awful, and I wouldn't want anyone else to have the same bad experience that I did.

Healthful Chat Review: Pros and Cons of Connecting with Others Going Through Similar Struggles
This chat site, Healthful Chat (healthfulchat.org), has its ups and downs. On one hand, it can be a great place to connect with others who may be going through similar struggles as you. However, on the other hand, there are trolls who run rampant on the site and can make it a difficult place to be.
One issue that I have experienced is that chatters can be banned for weeks at a time for standing up for themselves against these trolls. While the moderators do their best to handle the situation, they are limited in what they can do against the actual problem. In fact, they are often told by the site admin to go after the chatters who interact with the trolls. This can be frustrating for those who are simply trying to defend themselves.
Furthermore, the site admins can be quite snippy if a chatter doesn't agree with everything they say. Even when you try to be polite and express your dissatisfaction with the situation, they may jump on you and tell you that you are wrong. It can be disheartening to feel like your voice isn't being heard.
Despite these issues, I do believe that Healthful Chat can be a decent site if you are able to tolerate the abuse from trolls and not react. It can be a helpful place to connect with others who may be going through similar struggles as you. However, it's important to keep in mind that this is not a professionally run site and there may be some issues that arise.
Overall, while I may be disgruntled and bitter about my experiences on the site, I do believe that what I have said is true. It's important to weigh the pros and cons before deciding if Healthful Chat is the right place for you. Just be prepared to potentially be told to shut up and take abuse, and hope that a mod is around to take care of the troll.
Avoid Healthful Chat: Toxic Moderation and Unsupportive Community
Healthful Chat (healthfulchat.org) is a website that offers chat rooms for people who are looking for support and help with their mental health. However, my experience with the moderator BlueGobi was not a positive one. BlueGobi is a moderator who seems to enjoy power-tripping and being racist towards users in the chat room. Even if you slightly deviate from the topic, he becomes militant and turns a disagreement into an argument. If you call out his abusive behavior, you risk getting kicked, muted, or banned. Even self-censoring yourself won't help you avoid his wrath. It's like being in a schoolboy club where the rules are made up as they go along.
The server is heavily filtered, which means that you can't connect using a VPN most of the time. This makes it difficult to protect your privacy, which is a major concern for many people who use chat rooms like this. If you're having a crisis, I would not recommend joining this chat room. The regulars and other buttlickers seem to get away with breaking the rules, but if you're there for support and get accused of breaking the rules, don't expect to last long.
In my opinion, the people who frequent Healthful Chat are some of the most miserable and degenerate people you'll find on the internet. They are a clique that seems to enjoy making others feel bad about themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if most of them are also heavy users of other websites like Discord, 4chan, and Reddit.
In conclusion, I would advise anyone looking for real support to avoid Healthful Chat at all costs. There are other websites and resources out there that offer genuine help and support without the toxic environment that exists on this website.
Review: Healthful Chat - A Decent Distraction, but No Professional Help Available
This website, Healthful Chat (healthfulchat.org), is a decent place to go if you're looking for a chat to distract you from your problems. However, it's important to note that there are no professionals on the site, so the support you receive is from regular people who may not have the expertise to help you work through your issues.
The moderators on the site are not like those you would encounter in group therapy. They are there to enforce the rules and keep the chat running smoothly, but they are not trained counselors. Therefore, it's not recommended to ask them for help with your problems.
One moderator, Forever, was seen kicking a guest for making a harmless joke. While it may seem ridiculous, it's important to remember that moderators are only human and may have their own biases. However, it's understandable why some reviews say she doesn't like guests.
If you're looking for real help, it's best to find somewhere with professionals or people who have some kind of training. Peer support can only go so far, and while distraction may help in the moment, it's not a long-term solution.
Overall, Healthful Chat is a good place to go if you're looking for a distraction, but it's important to keep in mind that the support you receive is from regular people who may not have the expertise to help you work through your problems.

Disappointing Experience with Healthful Chat's Anxiety Support: Inappropriate Conversations and Lack of Safety
This website, Healthful Chat (healthfulchat.org), claims to offer anxiety support, but my experience was anything but supportive. In fact, I stumbled upon a conversation in the anxiety support chat that left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed.
The conversation started innocently enough with a user named Kath asking what a "Honkie" was. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when another user, Stayathome78, made a comment that many would consider racist. This was followed by other users chiming in with their opinions on the term, with some calling it a "pathetic attempt at a racial slur."
To make matters worse, I received a private message from someone claiming that Stayathome78 was a moderator prone to making subtle racist remarks. This was disheartening to hear, and it made me question the safety and inclusivity of this website.
As I continued to observe the chat, I noticed that the conversation had strayed far from the topic of anxiety support. Instead, users were discussing dropping babies, ending relationships, and smoking weed. While someone did mention buying a "special anti-anxiety variety" of weed, this hardly qualifies as a helpful discussion about anxiety.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience on Healthful Chat and will be looking for anxiety support elsewhere. It's a shame that a website that claims to offer support for those struggling with anxiety would allow such inappropriate and off-topic conversations to take place.
Unprofessional and Cliquey Moderators on Healthful Chat: A Review
There are a few moderators on Healthful Chat that are alright, but there are also some that don't seem to do much and others that should probably find a different gig. Personally, I'm not interested in drama, so I've never had any issues with the mods. However, I have seen some mods cause problems with chatters and it's clear that they have some beef with guests.
Sometimes, the mods seem to gang up on people and they definitely have their favorites. There's this one mod named Stayathome who's supposedly on a "break" from moderating, but she's still just as snarky as ever. Then there's Jameson and Forever, who are also pretty cliquey. Lately, Forever and Stayathome have been acting like a wrestling tag-team, setting chatters up and then taking shots at them.
It's pretty ridiculous, actually. Forever and Stayathome have ongoing petty arguments with chatters and I've seen them go after people for no reason. One time, they were picking on this chatter who's a nurse and they basically waited for her to say something about her job so they could make fun of her. They kept taking shots at her for over an hour and it was just really uncomfortable to watch.
I think part of the problem is that the mods are just chatters who volunteer for the site. Some of them have mood swings and openly admit to being in bad moods. Then they start muting and kicking people as a way of projecting their bad mood onto others. It's not exactly surprising, though, when you consider that some of the mods probably have personality disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, or ADHD.
Honestly, I think the site could use more mods who are more professional and less focused on their own personalities. But until that happens, my best advice is to avoid the drama and not let moody mods spoil your time on Healthful Chat.
Unfairly Banned from Healthful Chat: My Experience with Incompetent Moderators
I was a regular user of Healthful Chat and it was a great resource for me to connect with others who were going through similar mental health struggles. However, I recently got permanently banned from the site and it has left me feeling hopeless and alone. I don't understand why this happened to me, especially since I had just entered the chat room when it occurred.
After reading some reviews, it seems that I'm not the only one who has had issues with some of the moderators on the site. One user in particular, ShadowOfLight, seems to have a lot of power and influence over the admin team. They even changed their username because they were so disliked by other users. I don't want to speak too negatively about the moderators, but I do think that some of them are not qualified to be in their positions.
The things that I did to get banned were very minor, and I feel like I was unfairly targeted. I may have gotten a little out of hand at times, but isn't that to be expected in a mental health chat? Instead of showing me any kindness or understanding, the moderators called me disgusting, abusive, and shameful. It's like they didn't care about the impact that their actions would have on my mental health.
I've lost friends that I made on the site and I feel completely alone now. It's like all of the progress that I made has been erased. I'm so angry and frustrated with the moderators, and I can't help but wish something bad would happen to them. I know that sounds harsh, but I feel like they deserve it for what they've done to me.
One thing that I've noticed is that the moderators are now using new usernames that aren't familiar to the regular users. They're also muting people without any warning, so you might not even realize that you've been banned until you try to log in again. If you suspect that this has happened to you, try logging in from a different channel. And watch out for a moderator named MOB - they're not very nice.
Mixed feelings about Healthful Chat: A review of the site's helpfulness and unfair moderation
I gotta say, Healthful Chat is a pretty cool site. They're all about helping people with whatever they're going through, and I think that's just awesome. I mean, who doesn't need someone to talk to sometimes, right?
Now, don't get me wrong, there are some mods on there that are a little bit unfair. But hey, nobody's perfect, right? Most of the mods are really nice and understanding, and they'll give you a second chance even if you mess up.
But let me tell you, I got banned from that site once, and it was a total bummer. My friends and I were all hanging out, and we wanted to check out Healthful Chat together. So we all logged in from the same wifi network, and that's when things went south.
One of the mods told me that multiple logins from one network weren't allowed, and I totally understood that. But before I could even tell my friends to log out, another mod muted us all and then banned our network from the site FOREVER. Like, seriously? Not even a 48-hour ban?
So a few days later, I went to my friend's house and tried to talk to the mod who banned us. But he wouldn't listen to me, and he even banned my friend's network from the site too. It was just ridiculous.
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Did you and your friends do something to deserve that?" And the answer is no, we were just chatting and having a good time. I mean, isn't that what Healthful Chat is all about?
All in all, I still think Healthful Chat is a great site. They're doing some really important work, and I hope they keep it up. But maybe they could be a little more understanding when it comes to stuff like multiple logins. Just sayin'.
Healthful Chat Review: A Safe Space for Mental Health Support, but Beware of Internet Connection Issues
I recently stumbled upon Healthful Chat and I must say, it was a breath of fresh air. It's comforting to know that there are others out there who are going through similar struggles as me. The site has been a great help to me during those sleepless nights and moments of anxiety. However, I do feel a bit lonely now that I'm not using it as much.
I did have a bit of a hiccup with the site though. I got banned and I'm not entirely sure why. I think it might have been because my internet was down and I unknowingly connected to a saved hotspot nearby. I didn't realize it wasn't allowed. If you plan on using the site, make sure to delete any saved wifi hotspots before you do. I tried using it from someone else's house and it was fine, but when I went back home, it said my IP had suspicious activity. I'm not sure what that means, but it didn't help with my mental health at all. The word "suspicious" just sounds so awful.
I do think the moderators can be a bit harsh at times, but they usually give people second chances. If you continue to talk about something they've asked you not to, you may be temporarily kicked out of the room. I personally didn't have any bad experiences with them. I did try to reach out to them through the "contact us" button to explain my situation, but I never received a reply. I suppose it's my own fault for not reading the rules more carefully, but I do think something as serious as getting banned should be emphasized more in the chat rooms.
Overall, Healthful Chat has been a great resource for me and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a safe space to talk about their mental health. Just make sure to read the rules carefully and be mindful of your internet connection.
Mixed Bag: My Review of Healthful Chat's Support Groups
I gotta say, Healthful Chat is a site that I've been using for a hot minute now. I'm no expert or anything, just a regular person who's been through some stuff and needed some support. And let me tell ya, this site has been a real mixed bag for me.
First off, let's talk about the moderators. Some of them are alright, but a lot of them don't seem to know what they're doing. They don't have any training or anything, and it shows. Sometimes they'll abuse their power and kick people out for no reason, and other times they'll just let things spiral out of control. It's a mess.
And then there's the chatters themselves. Most of them are just regular folks who need someone to talk to, but there are a few bad apples in the bunch. You know, the trolls and whatnot. They can really ruin a good chat room if they're not dealt with properly.
But overall, I'd say that Healthful Chat is a decent place to go if you're feeling down and need some support. Just be careful which rooms you go into, and don't expect too much from the moderators. They're just regular people like you and me, after all.
Mixed Experience at Healthful Chat: Great Platform but Issues with Moderators
I recently visited Healthful Chat (healthfulchat.org) and had a mixed experience. While the website offers a great platform for people to connect and discuss various health-related topics, I did come across some issues with the moderators.
One moderator, Forever, seemed to be on a power trip and acted like a complete bully. Despite being over 50 years old, she lacked the kindness and empathy that one would expect from someone her age. Instead, she would mute chatters and keep them muted until she logged off. Other moderators wouldn't unmute you while she was there, which meant that she could keep chatters on mute for extended periods. While on mute, she would either ignore your messages or send snarky comments like "so how are you?" or "you seem to think you have a lot of fans here" or "not much going on with me". This behavior was part of her bullying tactics to avoid talking about why she muted you and to provoke you. She would keep you on mute and then log off, leaving you to wait until another moderator came on to ask them to unmute you.
The website's rules about warnings, kicks, and bans are supposed to be three warnings, then a kick, and then three kicks, and then a ban. However, a new moderator rule stated by CGJ, who was also a bully depending on what day of the week it was, meant that moderators could kick or ban you straight away without warning "if they feel like it". These were his exact words. This means that the site's rules cover any action the moderators and room assistants take, and it might as well say "moderators and RAs can mute and kick whenever they "feel" like it and don't need to warn". While this rule may be useful for dealing with trolls trying to get nude pics of chatters, it means that regular chatters can be kicked or banned whenever a moderator "feels" like it, even if it's just for disagreeing with them, which is now what happens.
Overall, Healthful Chat is a great platform for people to connect and discuss various health-related topics. However, the behavior of some moderators, such as Forever and CGJ, can be quite off-putting and discouraging. The website's rules need to be more clearly defined and enforced to prevent bullying and ensure that everyone feels safe and welcome.
