I juat had a horrible interaction with Homefirst Agency. I was cleaning my living room and noticed that I have water damage on my ceiling. I called the insurance company immediately to file a claim. They sent an inspector out to do the inspection. The inspector was on a date, his girlfriend was in the truck waiting for him, so he quickly took some pictures and left. Before leaving he told me that I have 4 vents on my roof and 3 of them have holes in them from wind damage. 1 vent didn't have a hole but it was leaking water into my house. He stated that he wrote it up for it all to be repaired. I then receive a phone call from Chevy Rodriguez, the adjuster, stating that it was my fault that the vent was leaking because I didn't do maintenance on my less then 5 year old roof. I stated that I wasn't aware that I needed to do anything being that I'm not a roofer and it was clearly wind damage making it leak cause the other 3 had holes. They are refusing to fix my home, but they get paid yearly. Any recommendations from anyone on what I should do. I plan to call an attorney Monday. These people are crooks. They are using fine print to avoid paying for damages to my home.
