House fire restoration september 2012 - 2015 work never completed
People beware! Tom keith is an outright thief, very incompetent the work here was never completed, yet he got paid all of his money & I still don't have a "c of o" certificate of occupancy. He took advantage of my cousin an elderly 82 year old disabled woman who was dying of cancer with promises he never kept., she cursed him till the day she died. & died with a broken spirit "shame on him!. He cannot be trusted is not a man of his word or handshake. He should be arrested & put out of business much of the work was not done here & what was done was not always done properly, he does not keep his promises don't be fooled he is a wolf in sheep's clothing he has a good line of bull s_t. Does not live up to his promises. I am so glad I finally aught up to him & have someone to listen to me & help make things right. He moved away from his original office located at pelham, n.Y.., much of the work that was done was done improperly & much never finished...
Desired outcome: CATCH THIS LYING THIEF,,, SUE HIM, THEM JAIL HIM
"Do not trust this company"
Tom Keith the owner of the company comes to me at the exact same time of my fire to my home. My fire in Mt. Vernon, NY where the firemen even recommended him to me. He comes at me very soft spoken and trustworthy. What a big mistake that I used his services. it's been over a year and 10 months my insurance company stop paying for my temporary residence and Tom had to start paying it for me and at times very late.
Let's start that he is very quick to show you his people with a board-up then they all disappear. I got mold in my house cause he didn't do what needed to be done soon after the fire. Then he put a claim in for the mold and my insurance company paid for it. He still did not do a good job.
Then he baby steped his way with starting the roof repairs and windows after that he disappeared again. For months at a time. There was always an excuse. He said to me initially "don't worry the insurance will pay and no monies will come from you" Yeah right he took almost all my Content monies and still I'm not home.
He's the worse of the worse. I totally regret the day I just didn't let the insurance company help me from the begining. If you come accross Tom Keith or anyone from his company stay away from him. Call your insurance company they have the true experts to help you.
I used Hometown Restoration from LA for flood cleanup after Hurricane Ian. They tried to bill be through Fema for at least 4 times what they should have. Fema wouldn't pay because it was fraudulent. They threatened to put a lien on my house until I threatened to go to the state for their license to operate in Florida. The FEMA adjuster is trying to call to tell them their claim is excessive and fraudulent. They told me I would never see an invoice because they thought FEMA would just pay it but now they are coming after me. They want money I need to fix my home after the storm. According to FEMA they are entitled to about $15,000 but are billing for $52,000. I wouldn't recommend Hometown Restoration to an enemy.
He did the same thing to me.. Tom Keith is a terrible person
Construction and Adjusting
I had a fire last year at my home and Tom Keefe from Home Town Restoration and Phil Maldigatti from United adjusters promised me the world and so I signed up with him to file my insurance claim. he told me that if I hired him he could give me free upgrades or a cash rebate. What a mistake! over a year later and they barely did any repairs and took all of the insurance money. i should have listened to my attorney and never hired these scam artists. i have been trying for months to get my money back but no one from the company ever answers the phone. i have filed multiple complaints with the state and they go unanswered. this whole industry is a total scam.If Tom Keefe or his worker Damion ( another thief) ever come to your house after a fire cll the cops on them! they will steal your money!
I think it might be a franchise as Hometown Restoration of LA overbilled me after flooding and I am seeking legal help as the insurance company complain about fraud after reviewing their billing. They want to put a lien on my home for their overpricing
Boy truer words were never said about this thief tom keith he took advantage of my elderly 82 disabled cousin ho was dying of cancer, forget his promises & hand shakes they don't mean a thing he lies right to your face with a smile, in the end the work is either never completed or completed correctly, try to find him he moved away from pelham n.y. & as I can see he is still getting away with murder, we need an agency & laws put in place for these so called dishonest contractors & give them jail time, eventually he will meet his maker in hell!
He tried doing it to me too! Thanks to Covid and being sick of his lies I started asking questions. My adjuster was amazing! He helped me through any question I had including Tom burying himself in fraud upon fraud. He was only calling when he wanted more money. I was able to find out all of his fraudulent activities that had been done and put an end to them. He had taken some of the initial insurance money and when my lawyer and myself were fighting to get out of our contract we were able to get back pretty much what we were owed.
This man is a fraud and a joke and it's disgusting how people can take advantage of people when they are going through such a traumatizing experience like watching your house burn down. I guess that's how he is ok driving around in all his fancy cars and motorcycle and never getting his hands dirty but can still sleep at night. So sad.
I have moved on with real professionals and feel much more confident that our home will be done correctly and with people that actually want to make us whole.
