Good blinds till a repair is needed
Good blinds till a repair is needed. Then they refer you to alternate companies to service them. Their suggested repair company wanted $300 just to take them down to take back to their shop. The repair would have been another $300 or more.
The products made and installed by this company are the worst
The products made and installed by this company are the worst. It is a surprise they have not gone bankrupt yet. Just today, the shades installed by hunter douglas has began going up and down by themselves and it's impossible to stop. It is as if someone has hacked into it and controlling it, or it has just come to life and moving by itself. Additionally, if you want it fixed, it'll probably cost you a few hundred bucks if not more. At this point, it's probably cheaper and easier to rip these shades all out. I strongly suggest people to divert away from this company.
Hunter D Consumer Support has failed to be supportive in resolving a Pirouette with PowerView Motorization window covering replacement problem. The seller, an authorized dealership, offered to cover the cost to replace a recent order -- necessitated by the mistakes of one of this business's designers -- however, the demand was that I first pay in full for the faulty replacements already hanging . As a third time Hunter D purchaser from this business, my request had been to simply replace what was already hanging. The only change was to be the choice of fabric, as the fabric on the previous shades had been discontinued. All had gone well in the past. I signed the order form without reviewing. What could go wrong? Answer: Everything -- wrong colors, wrong vane sizing, only two remote controls for entire house though two for each bedroom as before (wall mount and handheld) had been requested, another shade is not only the wrong color, but is hanging off level. Also, a large shade, covering glass sliding doors in a ground level bedroom, is sporadically defective, failing to descend or open correctly. When an attempt was made to reconcile differences, the designer claimed never to have made a mistake in the past and and it would be my word against the designer's. After requesting that I allow Hunter D Support to assist me, ensuing dialog between Customer Support and the Dealership owner proved inadequate, escalating the conflict. Further, Customer Support recommended I stop using the defective shade until repairs could be made -- even though aware the shade is in my husband's bedroom, my husband (81 years old) has suffered a massive stroke, requires 24/7 supervision, and has problems processing people, so being without a shade is not a viable option. I am the sole caregiver. Also, this is one of the shades the Dealership has offered to replace. The problem is the Dealership is the problem. Efforts to bring difficulties to the attention of Hunter D higher management have not been successful. Rather than being helped, my desire for efficient, effective PowerView Motorization has, instead, opened the window to a power view focused on price and product minus that of ultimate customer satisfaction. To Feel Light Transformed suggests tranquility. Unfortunately, the actual accomplishment has so far proven to be a challenge -- and insurmountable. Real help apparently not affordable.
Do not buy Hunter Douglas blinds. They are not top quality workmanship like they used to be 15 or more years ago. We bought Parkland wood blinds in 2021 (with wands to close and tilt manually) for our new home after having similar blinds installed many years ago at our old home. I regret purchasing these new ones because they were installed professionally by our local Hunter Douglas dealer and the blinds had numerous chips in the wood slats and will not close tightly at all. Once closed as tight as possible by twisting the wand manually, you can still see completely outside with about a finger depth spacing between each slat. From the outside others can also see inside the house when standing by the windows. I can watch an airplane fly across the blue sky with full visibility when the blinds are twisted shut as possible. These were $6,000 blinds and it is ridiculous that the workmanship is so poor. The dealers showroom had these on display with the automatic remote controlled operation and these closed tight as normally expected. The dealer graciously replaced them for us and the second set had no chips and closed better, however, they still do not close so that you cannot see outside or inside once twisted closed (eiither upward or downward direction has the same closure issue). The dealer came out and agreed the closure was not the same as their remote controlled blinds in their showroom. They took pictures and submitted them and the originally defective blinds to Hunter for their analysis. Hunter reviewed and stated that the closure meets their standards. Well that says enough about their quality standards that I willl not purchase Hunter blinds in the future and others should avoid them as well.
I was an interior designer in Texas for 15 years and endorsed Hunter Douglas products.
I was an interior designer for 15 years in Texas and endorsed Hunter Douglas as one of the best window products for my clients. After moving to Colorado, I naturally chose their duette products for our home, enticed by the lifetime warranty. Fast forward 14 years, I needed repairs for 4 shades. I faced a $90 charge for each of three shades, and the motorized one couldn't be repaired. My promotion of their products was based on warranty promises that now seem misleading. Former owner/designer of YOURS BY DESIGN in Texas.

Power view shades are bad products, waste of money, nothing but trouble!
I purchased *** Shades for 2 windows, inside flush mount. I hired a professional installer to measure the windows and he sent in the measurement to Hunger Douglas. The shades were installed and they are both 3/4" higher from the window sill when it should be around 1/4". These shades were not cheap, I paid 3k for 2 windows and it looks unprofessional and obvious that they are too short, not to mention the light that goes through. My installer said that is not right and called the company and they agreed it was too short and replacements would be ordered. My installer came out a second time to measure and he said he had the exact same measurement as the first time. After many months of waiting, the replacement shades arrived. My installer came to install the new shades. I ask him to confirm if the replacements were longer than what I already had. Unfortunately, they were the exact length, so no use in getting it installed. The representatives at Hunter Douglas said what I received is within the acceptable threshold and they will not provide longer shades. This is very disappointing that Hunter Douglas made the same mistake twice and will not make this right. Mistakes happen, but how a company responds is key. You take your changes with this company.
I purchased seven of the Duette honeycomb shades with the LiteRise system (roughly about $500 each).. These shades were advertised to protect my furniture by blocking out the sun "destructive rays". after a few years if I can leave a photo I can show you what two of them look like - torn at the creases! I wish there was a way to attach photos. I contacted Hunter-Douglas and was told this is normal wear and tear, and, the cost for the remake at Hunter Douglas is $460 each. I could've gone to *** or *** for $125 dollars to be told that! My advise is to seriously do your homework before purchasing these products. I seriously thought I was getting quality for the money I spent... Angry beyond belief!
We covered our entire house in HD Duette Literise blinds
We covered our entire house in HD Duette Literise blinds. Overall nice product, although the pull tabs at the top and bottom keep breaking. However, we have 1 window that's around 5 feet in width and it breaks almost every year, often with a loud crash as it falls from the top. HD keeps fixing it, but makes us pay shipping, and we're out a blind in our master bedroom at street level in the middle of ***, so that's far from ideal. I've spoken to a couple sellers of HD products and they all said they're shocked that Hunter Douglas hasn't discontinued making LiteRise for anything wider than 1-2'.

Such a professional company committed to excellence and stands behind their products, we purchased their product Wood blind and Silhouette through one of their suppliers 'Aero Drapery and Blind' in MN, we are very happy with the Product. Hunter Douglas Installation Service team member Todd did such an excellent work, he is knowledgeable, respectful, and made sure everything is perfect, Hunter Douglas is never into cutting corners, if there is any thing no matter how little it is, they replace the hole blind for another perfect one. My family and I are highly respect and admire their product and service, and highly recommend it.

Stay away from Hunter Douglas products!
Stay away from Hunter Douglas products! I had them installed in my house, spending some thousands... and when one of the sheer shades mechanism stopped working, just 3 years in use VS 10 years warranty... Hunter Douglas didn't want to assist with a cheap excuse that the product was a private label. That is quite laughable and cheap excuse when you see Hunter Douglas labels all over the installed product. I have pictures to prove on anyone is interested. Going to write more reviews in other sites and our legal will also get involved. Hunter Douglas.. just take the money and don't honor its product warranty!

I ordered $11,000 worth of shades in April , from a Hunter Douglas dealer out of Northern ***
I ordered $11,000 worth of shades in April , from a Hunter Douglas dealer out of Northern ***. As of December , I still dont have all of my shades. They have cut the wrong size shades 4 times each time they come to my house and find that the shades dont fit (either too small or too large). I just had my fourth failed installation today. Hunter Douglas also does not expedite my order, despite how long Ive been waiting, so it ends up being 6-8 weeks to cut new shades and get an installation appointment each time. I dont understand what is going so wrong that they keep cutting the wrong size shades.

A Complete Disaster Avoid at all costs
A Complete Disaster Avoid at all costs. Their supply chain is completely broken and they are months behind on custom orders. Our order was submitted in June for August delivery and now the *** is November We have to sleep in the kitchen and the closet because we have no blinds. One of us who needs blackouts to sleep well, sleeps in a tent of sorts to avoid the migraines that the insomnia causes them. We have used their shades and blinds before and never had a problem. Now the supply chain is used as an excuse for shoddy service and horrible attitude This afternoon we waited for 43 minutes on hold for the installer who had the guts to tell my wife to call [quote] when she is in better mood [end quote] Well, she is in a foul mood because she cannot sleep because you incompetent company is months behind in delivering our blinds that have been paid in full since June. Avoid at all costs. Go to a local *** company instead.

Hunter Douglas is not what it use to be
Hunter Douglas is not what it use to be. I have had Silohuettes since the 1990's. We moved and this new house also has Silohuettes. I payed thousands of dollars to have matching Silohouette and Luminex blinds put into our bedroom. I wish I were able to post pictures (will do this on Facebook, Twitter, etc) that I have sent to HD to show how the two blinds do not match even though the colors ordered were the same. No one at HD will come out to see the blinds, they tell me it is the walls. My house freshly painted white and I specifically ordered the two blinds in white. The vanes in the Luminex make the blind yellow, it is not the fabric, it is the vane that discolors the whole blind. DO NOT BUY HD IF you wish to match Luminex and Silohuette blinds and place them right next to each other. I contacted the company immediately the day they were installed, now months later they refuse to even acknowledge the problem and say it is the walls that make things look yellow. It is a sad time when a Colorado company doesn't service their customers. I have been in Colorado for over 25 years and Hunter Douglas was originally the best blinds you could buy. I would not recommend them to anyone for the price that they charge and if there is a problem, NO HELP! With the reviews I have read and how I have been treated, I can't understand how Hunter Douglas deserves a A+ from the ComplaintsBoard.com?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Must be the reputation they had in the 90's.

I have an order *** installed through CDI between Jan-march . I have 19 windows blinds and 2 patios doors purchased via this business. Of which 7 windows have motorized shades. Since the day they were installed we had malfuncting product, there was not a day they worked in sync and smoothly. I brought my concerns on numerous contact emails to the business customer service team. The shades power don't last as the business promised , each shade being different dimension the larger shades run out of power fast and remote don't allow them to open smoothly in sync with other. the motor sometimes don't open them at all on several push button commands. we figured this within 6months and requested fixing, the business sent installer once changing remote to hand held but we had same issue of shades opening and closing smoothly with each day operation. At one point a supervisor contacted to change them to cordless design like the rest of my windows and refund $150 on each shade back. Customers like me have great deal of pain around motorized shades. They dont operate as promised and installation team from cdi dont mention anything about how to use, program them and does a very poor job on site. I have a vertical blind a magnet that holds shades in center that is not even secured to railing. I asked on numerous account these motorized dont perform as they were said to by design time. They should not have been recommended in the first place by their design consultant. This poor design dont work in spaces like mine where shades needed are of different WxH. They will not work in sync and smoothly since day ONE. I asked the business to change them to cordless like rest of my windows and refund me difference per window OR Take their product back and refund me my full amount so I can move on. I am so frustrated as from the day we had this home improvement project of putting new shades we have no peace around opening and closing them each dawn and at dusk. And did i mention we live around Seattle gray weather. Please ComplaintsBoard.com take this seriously and please bring a resolution to me. I just checked this business reputation here and I regret choosing them for my project. I went with Hunter Douglas shades as they were said be top notch for looks and quality but I cannot stand by their motorize shades. Its a huge pain to customers with their failed motors and operation and not long lasting remote access. Please dont sell this product. Please refund me and happily take you life time warranted product. It didn't serve me good even 6 months.
I am a Hunter Douglas Customer. I was lead to believe when purchasing my blinds that they would be under warranty for life. I have in total 32 windows with blinds that need a Power Rise Wand Battery operated. Now, I need to replace some of the power wands and I'm told that they do not have those anymore. I have search on line high & low and I have called numerous Hunter Douglas Dealers nobody has the Power Rise Wand. My complaint is if you advertise that the blinds are warrantied for life then you should have the parts for the blinds. What am I suppose to do with all these blinds that were very expensive but cannot operate them b/c Hunter Douglas can't provide me with the parts. I have dealt with customer service and all they said is we don't carry the Power Rise Wand any longer.
Hunter Douglas does not support their claims for a 7-year warranty on it's operational string
Hunter Douglas does not support their claims for a 7-year warranty on it's operational string. Both honeycomb shades in my house broke within 2 years. When I contacted them, they said the product warranty only applied to the original owner, but their 7-year warranty claim is on their website. I sent my honeycomb shades to a Hunter Douglas dealer (***) which repaired it and charged me $79, but they knew it would break and could not provide any warranty for the repair. After about two months, one of the honeycomb shades broke again. When I sent email to Hunter Douglas customer service, they simply ignored my email.

I purchased 7 shades and a system named "LightLock" from Hunter Douglas. I explained very precisely to the sales agent that I was interested in a system to completely darken my room, and that price was not an issue, and it was recommended to me to use the LightLock system after multiple occasions. After installation, I noticed a lot of light leaking on the bottom. Hunter Douglas spent a year re-engineering the system, and this issue was fixed a year later. I have now noticed since this issue was fixed, that a few of the shades are pitch back, but a couple let in an enormous amount of light on the side. The installer mentioned during installation that the sales agent was not supposed to take dimensions and that he usually comes to taken the dimensions of each window, but this was not done in my case. I am extremely disappointed that the shades were not properly sized and do not achieve the functions I bought them for.
I pruchased hunter douglas blinds from a blind source retailer for $2290 on 12/31 /2020 and the blinds were installed on 2/23
I pruchased hunter douglas blinds from a blind source retailer for $2290 on 12/31 /2020 and the blinds were installed on 2/23. The hunter douglas color samples that were presented to me do not represent the color of the blinds in use at night When the samples were presented during the day, they represented a very neutral off white color, and is what I was expecting the blinds to look like in my house. At night, the blinds are a very yellow brown color and do not represent what the sample during the day looks like at all. I was not informed that the blinds would change from a neutral off white to dark yellow brown at night. I provided pics for comparison. Hunter douglas should be held responsible to provide re-sellers with SAMPLES and PICTURES of what the blinds will actually look like at night, when in use as intended. I want hunter douglas to support and compensate the retailer and/or myself directly for an exchange to a product that is white or off-white as presented.

I purchased blinds from Hunter Douglas through an authorized retailer (Rings ***d, CT). One of the blinds has been repaired multiple times and keeps breaking. I was told that the blind is no longer made so if I wanted a new one it would be different than the others in the same room or I would have to buy the others. After deciding to have the same blind fixed for the THIRD time I have been waiting for ONE MONTH for the packing materials I was told I needed to send the defective products back to Hunter Douglas. I have been told that the delay is both COVID and technology related - neither of which makes any sense.

We purchased 14 Hunter Douglas banded motorized shades at end of 2020 and April
We purchased 14 Hunter Douglas banded motorized shades at end of 2020 and April. When you have to change the rechargeable batteries some of the shades will not reprogram back to the height they were, even after resetting them and reprogramming them, I have gone back to the *** in Las Vegas (where we purchased these shades) to get this resolved as we had to have techs come out twice to fix this issue. They also had to play with the shades to get them to align. Hunter Douglas sent *** an email stating programming the shades was very simple and that is all you need to do to fix them. This is not true as we have tried reprogramming, doing a hard reset but the shades will not align again. This is beyond frustrating. We love the shades and not looking to replace them but there is an issue with the motor on some of the shades that is making it difficult to program them after changing the rechargeable battery. We might need new motors on a few shades

I have 4 shades that we purchased and installed October
I have 4 shades that we purchased and installed October . Here are the details on the shades "4/ *** shades with ***, with 1 remote control + 1 *** Hub". These shades (different one every day) have had problems since install where either i have to mildly shake them or perform a shade reset. Last year I worked with my dealer and got 2 of the shades sent to Hunter douglas, It cost me $300 just for someone to come home and ship the shades to Hunterdouglas. Now a year later they are acting up again. After spending ~ $3000 on these shades, is the expectation to send an additional $300 every year to just keep these shades running? I have changed the batteries which does not help. I already reached out to customer service and their standard response is work through the dealer which means incur additional service charges to ship and getting these shades fixed. So much for the lifetime warranty and in this case I am still under the 7 year warranty. Quite honestly they have never worked from day one which is not right. I have other manual operated shades from Hunter douglas which all seems to be good so far. To concluded I have started to regret my purchase and investment of a good amount of hard earned dollars. I am really out of options other than babysit the shades everyday. Does hunter douglas stand behind their products and help customers like this rectify this issue?

I purchased 2 Hunter Douglas blinds in February
I purchased 2 Hunter Douglas blinds in February . The blinds were purchased through Linen Chest. The blinds are said to have a lifetime warranty. In November , one of the cords on the blind broke. I called a local company that represents Hunter Douglas, and with the model number they contacted Hunter Douglas and confirmed that the blind would be replaced. As an action item, I was asked to send the current blind to Hunter Douglas for repair or replacement. Shipping cost was $75. The blind was shipped. A few weeks after, I received a message indicating that Hunter Douglas wanted a copy of my receipt, and there was mention of potential denial of warranty. I called Hunter Douglas, they assured me all would be OK. The following week, I get asked to send another receipt, and I clearly stated that I only have 2 Hunter Douglas blinds in my possession and that is the correct receipt. I escalated by calling Hunter Douglas, and the issue seemed to be that my blind had a sticker that said it was 70.5" in length, and my invoice stated it was 70.125". I asked for someone to measure the actual blind, but that was not done. I measured my window opening, it is indeed 70.125". After going back and forth, Hunter Douglas opted to charge me $25 for a replacement blind. That was agreed on December 10th. On January 13th, I picked up the replacement blind and it is too big. It has a sticker for a manufactured size of 70.5", and the it will not fit in the 70.125" opening. After 2 months of having a bed sheet to cover my master bedroom window, and all the back and forth with Hunter Douglas I am very much frustrated and want my full money back.

I have been a Hunter Douglas customer for years and my experience has been nothing but great
I have been a Hunter Douglas customer for years and my experience has been nothing but great. However, recently I made a purchase of 6 Silhouettes and one Luminette. The Silhouettes have been ordered to be done side by side for six windows that are all next to each other. When the order came in, 5 out of six of them were lined up properly. One was completely off and could not be adjusted. The installer that came in was a very experienced and he spent a long time on the phone with HD as well. However, nothing could be done, as this one Silhouette was done wrong. After a back and forth with Hunter Douglas, they agreed to redo just one out of 6 shades. The installer had to send them one of the correct ones to ensure the proper alignment. It took almost 4 weeks for the replacement to come back. To our great surprise and disappointment the new shade did not align properly and was short than it was supposed to be. It has now been more than 2 weeks since HD sent the replacement that was supposed to be done side by side. I paid over $9,000 for this order and I expect this company to stand behind their product and more importantly quality control. The place that we purchased the product from is a small shop, and we feel that they have been completely disregarded by Hunter Douglas and it is very disturbing. The shop has spoken with multiple levels of management to no avail. Our case was presented to the HD Consumer Affairs, and as of right now, we have received NO ANSWER OR RESOLUTION from the company. We are not being picky or unreasonable. We have tried to be patient and follow what HD was recommending. However, this has been going on since July and I want this to be taken care of and done right. Hunter Douglas can not just have a one-sided desire to get our money and not deliver on their product or quality.

I placed an order with Hunter Douglas for duet blinds. The order was based on the fact that they confirmed that my blinds would be fitted by Christmas. The company failed to meet this commitment and my blinds have been delayed till date. I raised a complaint with a team lead who failed to listen/acknowledge my claim and losses. Unable to point out their policy on cancellation, they have used bullying tactics to deny me the ability to cancel my order, threatening to just deliver my order unfitted or dispose of the blinds which I would have to pay for. This has been by far the worst experience for me and I will make every effort to expose the bad practices of this company.

These are honestly the worst blinds Ive ever used the remote control doesnt work half the time the motor is garbage and the name sounds all snooty but really theyre just broken blinds
Good blinds till a repair is needed. Then they refer you to alternate companies to service them. Their suggested repair company wanted $300 just to take them down to take back to their shop. The repair would have been another $300 or more.
