Good hard game
One of the few games that was legitimately and wonderfully difficult. Most of the time I spend 30-45 mins completing games like this. This actually took some extra strategy and thinking. That being said, I'm not sure how to complete the second "mission". It says the cores the limit and I've reached the limit. But with no indication of completion.
Not worth it
This is nothing like the original..gas runs out so fast you can’t dig down to the good stuff to make enough money to upgrade your digger. You have to upgrade faster to get deeper but can’t upgrade because you spend your earnings on gas...pretty soon your dead in the water..don’t spend your money on this one...go with the original, pay less and enjoy it more
Nowhere near as fun as original
If you have any respect for the original version you won my want to purchase this game. The over complicated the game making it almost impossible to play. Upgrades do basically nothing and that’s if you can find enough diggings to afford the gas to keep going. This game used be hours of fun and they ruined it. I paid for this game but I will be deleting it. Complete trash
Wanted to love it
I love the earlier I Dig It HD game so had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately the game is pretty unplayable as it stands - the first level on story mode seems to be unbeatable and the warehouse is buggy (no $ indicator or exit button)
Also - I feel bad saying this but the UX is definitely the weirdest I've encountered in awhile... Cmon! This game should build on an already great game - not make it worse!
Sorry to say, but needs work
The original was outstanding, so I was delighted to see this. And, while it does look better, it doesn't do well on an iPad2 -- lots of stutter and practically unplayable. User interface is a little wonky and there's no tutorial to speak of, which, given that I've played the original should be a non-issue, but it does create problems. I'm sure the devs will address the shortcomings...I just don't know if my device is ever going to be up to it.
Very disappointing
Loved the original and the 2nd versions. About the only 2 apps that have for the most part stayed on my apple devices for the past 6 or so years. This is absolutely awful. Doesn’t have the depth/map features. The HUD is cluttered. The fuel cost and consumption are REALLY high compared to the earlier versions. I wish they’d just update the 2nd version (Expeditions) so I could play that one again... The developers won’t respond to any messages either.
Tanker49
They made the game so hard it's unplayable. You can't make enough money to buy what you need to keep playing. It's impossible to get enough gas, radar better hull and the rest of the supply's you need to keep playing. The old game is so much better... Once you start to dig and go down you can't see anything so you can't find anything to sell to make money. Plus it's so dark you can't find your way back to the top.
Very disappointed it this game...
I Agree With Others
This was a great game--my relaxing go to on the subway or to kill some easy time. New graphics are great but game overheats too quickly and easily, there are not enough things to dig close enough to the surface in order to allow you to do anything other than pray you can find something-anything!--to get you to the surface in order to get you half a tank of gas in order to HOPE you can get enough... Not enjoying this at all. Have played other versions off and on for years. A real bummer.
Ugh
IPad2. The game is much harder than the harder than the original. You do have to start out slow and resurface more frequently. The game is very sluggish on the IPad2. Sometimes freezes for more that 30 seconds before continuing. Also would like to have a "Are you sure you want to start a new game". Currently too easy to press new game vice continue. And last but not least, have game to continue from top after you die. How long will it take a person to raise $5000 to get a chance to respawn?
Awesome remake!
I loved the original version and this one was not a disappointment. I use an iPhone 5S and I've never had any lag or app crashing while playing which is nice too. The game is challenging but not impossible. The challenge modes take time so it makes the purchase a better value. The only thing I wish was added is additional new maps to play and a 2D display you can view to see when you are in the tunnels similar to iDig It Expeditions. Overall very happy with this game and would buy other versions if released.
Worth it though lacking in some respects
If you ever played motherload on PC and wished there was a game like it on iOS.. Booya, here it is. Minus one star for not being able to go as deep as the original game 2000ft and you hit the bottom.. Motherload, you can free fall into your tunnel and leave the room for 3 minutes to come back just in time to not crash on the bottom.. I do like the added idea of starting with limited observation and the heat thing is different.. Though, I wish there could have been more new ideas like ability to make portals or elevators that can transport you faster..
Inferior to the original in every way
It's not just "harder", it's super dry and dull. No feeling of exploration or treasure hunting. Just a grind as you strip mine every depth to scavenge every last scrap of ore. And always just bit behind the 8-ball so you never get that satisfying feeling of pulling ahead of the difficulty curve - EVEN WITH SKILLFUL PLAY. Lastly, the view is zoomed in so tight on my iPad that I feel like I'm playing on a phone. What happened to the perspective in the previous iPad version? Even with radar fully upgraded, the game feels claustrophobic and cramped.
Such a disappointment.
Ruined
They absolutely ruined this game. Everything that made the original a fun, easy, time wasting game has been changed. Drilling is slow, you can’t “mow the lawn” or you’ll never earn enough just to buy gas. The dashboard is like looking at a chart instead of a “digger” and the text notices about fuel and full cargo are small and unnoticeable causing you to run out and die if you’re not extremely careful. I just wish they would make the original more compatible (screen resolution) with newer phones. I was real happy at first finding this, then an hour later I went back to the original.
This is even BETTER than the original
I honestly don’t understand all the bad reviews. The game is more difficult yes, but I feel like that’s a good thing. If anything, the original would be to easy now that I’m an adult. It was a blast as a kid, but incredibly easy as an adult. This new version forces you to be a lot more careful in the early game. It’s more challenging but it’s not unbeatable like the negative reviews claim. In the original game you basically had to try to fail to lose. I’m having immense fun playing this and the graphics are a huge upgrade. I love this game and will be playing it for many years to come.
Fix this game!
Lots of terrible reviews...but I'm really good at this game... surely it's not too hard for me... FAIL. This game ruins the series. Diggings are few and far between, fuel burns so fast you have to strategically dig every brick. Radar upgrades do almost nothing... digger barely fits in tunnels, and easily gets stuck... not enough diggings to fund quick access tunnels to get you in and out quickly. NO RESPAWN... one bad turn and you START OVER. NO MINI MAP! You don't fit in tunnels, have no gas, no radar, no map, and find nothing to sell. NOT A FUN GAME. HORRIBLE. Do not waste your money on this version until they fix it. It is not enjoyable at all!
Disappointed
I’ve played the first IDigIt and that was fun. When IDigIt Expeditions came out. I was captivated and enjoyed the story and the water dig. However this IDigIt Remastered can be seen on a full screen but it lacks the hud display that I’ve gotten use to. Still there is a lot to dislike. No real alarm or warning that your low on fuel. Even the fuel gauge seems to deplete a lot faster. I mean a lot faster. Temp gauge is interesting but it’s hard to keep track of when it’s at the top of the screen and your fuel gauge is at the bottom. While your busy watching your fuel deplete fast you don’t look up as often when you’re Rig explodes because temp was causing damage. Plus the lack of stories or challenges, causes this game to fail short in being a fun game to play.
I hope InMotion fixes the problem and actually tests out.
A downgrade at best
If someone showed me a screenshot of the game and told me it was an early version IDigIt, I’d believe it. The unique mechanical hud has been replaced by boring generic look. Added to this, not all features are here. Casual mode is gone and the depth marker no longer exists. This will make your first play through excruciating as you learn the new limits and rules, which have changed drastically. On top of all this, the sound changes are terrible too. The old beeping noise alerting you to a full inventory is gone, so you will most likely be running a combo dig and end up losing one or two of the diggings as the game gives you a tiny cough of an alert about it. The new music they added has a sinister, dark tone to it, which is stupid for a game with literally no threat but your own carelessness. Lastly, the story elements of the game have been trimmed down from minimalist, to practically nonexistent.
The gam may be playable, but is by no means a better version. All in all, Stick to the old version. It may not use the full screen, but it’s still fun, and has honestly aged well when compared to this.

Needs a Rewrite
This a fun game but the challenges and story far exceed the time allowed. Download the previous version. They are superior to this version.
Terrible now
I loved the original and the sequel, but this is unbalanced and there is no real improvement of graphics or sound. This was a disappointment.
Remastered = Ruined
Pathetic remake. Absolute waste of an app. In hindsight I could be paid to play this. I was a huge fan of the originals, but this is complete garbage.
Terrible remake
I played the original version of this game and loved it but this is an awful remake. Very hard to buy upgrades when you’re spending all you’re money just paying for gas for the digger. Too bad.
Awful
I love the first I Dig It, and still occasionally play it. The second version was wonderful, but this is not that, do not be fooled, this is a very, very bad knock-off, unplayable and useless. What a waste.
Nope
The original was way way better takes to long to get stuff overheats to fast fix it or this will die shame to the original was addicting I hoped the reviews were wrong they are not or update the old version.
I got the reason of these 1 star comments
I have a backup fuel tank but I still exploded when I out out fuel. WHY? Why I didn’t have a chance to refuel? What’s the point of the explosion? I feel the MALICE from the team. Totally disappointed now.
Absolutely Horrible
This game isn't worth my time, much less my money. It's very glitchy, with a very slow progression system and bad controls. Every time I try to open the game, it crashes, forcing me to delete then reinstall it. I want my money back!
Not like the first two
The controls are nothing like the first two and promote damaging your digger, and the ratio of earnings is so far off, you can't really upgrade your digger. I'm going to ask for a refund, as far as I'm concerned, this game is defective.
Ruined
I downloaded the new version after playing the old one a year ago. The game has been absolutely ruined. You can barely do anything due to the cost of gas and needed upgrades to get deeper. Total waste of $2.99. Bring back the old version.
WAY TOO HARD
I've spent the day trying to get into this game to only fail about 20 times. Read the other reviews about this, because we all have the same issues. I like I can see more of the screen, however, this game is Mario lost levels hard. Boo, I say.
Where is the first one?
I played the first one and it was fun. This one is impossible. Very dark and hard to get enough to fill fuel or keep the hull from falling apart. I understand it needs to be challenging but if you don’t have a chance, it gets boring quickly.
USED TO love this
Don’t buy this. It’s the remnants of a once-upon-a-time game. The graphics are awesome. But for some reason they made it absolutely impossible. Gas is so expensive. You can dig and dig and just have enough to buy more gas but no upgrades. So disappointing!
What’s up…
I purchased the early versions of this game on my previous iPads and they were much better I don’t know what happened why they over thought this game the simple way that it used to be used to work great it was endless hours of playing if it wasn’t broken you shouldn’t of tried to fix it.
Ouch!
A major disappointment from InMotion, this not only lacks balance, it's horribly [censored]ic interface is more confusing then the complete lack of a playable game. I want my money back!
Guys, iDigIt HD was the best dig it yet, if you fix that and re-release it with new challenges you'd have a hit..
i dig it remastered
WHY? Why would you make an update that goes BACKWARDS in time? This app blows! I wish I could get a refund! I will go back to playing and replaying the other versions. At least those are fun to play. I am so completely disappointed with this "update." I do love the game, but this update is an utter disaster! I want my $4 back now!
Boring, basic, not creative
I dig it HD had a water level, explosive ants, and so much more. This one is just the basics, and not much of a challenge. Play it a few times and done, there’s nothing exciting. I don’t know how they went from such a creative version to this … why lower your standards and ruin a good game? What a waste. They need more creative levels again.
