I received letter from the IRS regarding the need to contact them regarding what they believed may have been a fraudulently submitted tax return
I received letter from the IRS regarding the need to contact them regarding what they believed may have been a fraudulently submitted tax return (in my name). I called the given number but was informed that due to the huge number of received calls I should call later (and was not even offered the choice of being put into call waiting.) I then tried the option of verifying my ID at *** . This transfers me to ID.me. ID.me then, at various points in their process, request my Social Security number, and copies of my Permanent Resident card, my NY drivers license and my Social Security card , issued in 1991! (The latter helpfully advises me to keep the card - a piece of thin card - in my wallet and DO NOT LAMINATE. Try that for 31 years! The original letter from the IRS did not mention ID.me at all. Given that I had never heard of this private company I then had to check it was not a scam. The thing that beggers belief is that we have constantly been told by the US government to never share personal info like Social Security numbers and the details on other identity documents. Even worse, numerous IT companies have had security lapses resulting in the loss of private citizen data in the last 20 years. ID.me is a disaster waiting to happen. That said, at the very least, ID.me should negotiate with the the IRS to ensure IRS customer letters clearly identify ID.me as a contractor. Finally on a different note, the ID.me process is complex and seems to assume every taxpayer has access to a cell phone and/or a scanner. I did the process (albeit taking well over 45 minutes) and still then got referred to their Meet an Agent process - estimated wait time 1 hour and 15 minutes. I would suggest the Complaintsboard.com lobbies government to bring customer related services back inhouse. Taxpayers are expected to pay taxes; I would suggest the IRS has a duty to provide a sufficiently robust and large call-center system to be able to deal with customers directly.

T-Mobile offers better service than ID
T-Mobile offers better service than ID.ME, & ID.ME is a government website. I would not wish this pain on even my worst enemy! I contacted them back at the beginning of January 2022 in regards to my account being investigated for fraud. It is now MARCH 3rd 2022 and I have not heard one single resolution OR even a damn update! YIKES. This is about Fraud which is a VERY serious thing because I am trying to collect unemployment insurance and have been on hold for 3 months because of this company. Even if it was a password change I should be able to get through because once again this is a GOVERNMENT website. Its so sad that you have to search Complaintsboard.com and give a horrible rating because their representative or company does not care. This kind of carelessness should cause ID.ME to be closed down. What is the point of having workers if they are not answering the emails. They do not have another contact option either. NO PHONE NUMBER NO LIVE CHATS. Just email. I have emailed over 50 times and I have the PROOF ;( ! DOUBLE YIKES. I even had to contact a Rep. at the Unemployment Insurance for them to reach out as well which is a TRIPLE YIKES. I only need to have my email address updated so that I can carry on with my life but NO I have to wait on a representative to answer me. This is crazy and its not even COVID anymore so I do not want to hear any excuses. I always heard about ID.ME through other companies even my own company has used it but I never knew they would be like this for a government website. Look at the Complaintsboard.com reviews they speak for its self. Someone needs to invent a brand new ID.ME to put these people out of business. I am on the edge of homelessness and my fate rest in the hands of these representatives who do not want to do their job. Honestly I pray that no one else is going through this! Fraud and identity thief is something that they should always have a back up plan for, ALWAYS, since this deals with YOUR IDENTITY?! Complaintsboard.com of an F-- for me!
Great friendy helpful fast courteous smart no wait time Excell
I had an account under an email address that I no longer have. I also went through a name change and so ID.me is making an extremely difficult for me to get my letter of eligibility for a VA loan. I have been trying to get this issue resolved for over a year. They appear to not understand that people change their names and delete email accounts. I am so frustrated!
So easy to navigate. Walks you through the process and the agent video call is time efficient.. Less than 10 minutes. Entire process took less than an hour and you can log in anytime to verify if time doesn't allow you when the verification video is ready to verify submitted documents.
It was an overall great experience. My agent was helpful, patient, and educated to all my questions and concerns. Thank you so much for all your help.
I am putting this worthless shame and disgrace of ID
I am putting this worthless shame and disgrace of ID.me what I thought used to be a valuable resource. But I mistake that they are no longer is and in fact they are nothing but a sham. It is a runaround software that legit companies and organizations mistakenly believe is secure and reliable and efficient to use... because it used to be. It no longer is. The site seems to arbitrarily deny identification, even with recent info correctly entered. Repeatedly. They automatically blame the user. "It's your fault. You did it wrong." Tech support is a joke. Clearly whatever tech support they have is overwhelming to the point it is non-functional, which suggests that the system is so glitchy that no one can get it to work and must keep calling in for help. Complaintsboard.com should contact every company and state agency listed as affiliated with ID.me and warn them of the extent of the issue they should be held accountable for all the issues they are making and causing. I will certainly be spreading the word as best I can. And who knows what they are doing with folks' personal information? Have they been hacked? Who knows? They certainly aren't talking. I registered and open an account and I had to correct information that need to be updated phone and email it's taken them 12 months to finally get back and all they could say was your account has been suspended due to activity but they have no problem not explaining or saying what it was but I will say this they are not safe and they have allowed my information to be used let's say someone filing unemployment in California Nd Maine but I live in Texas so because they were easy to get hacked but they want to pint fall you for their gross misconduct and allowing this kind of stuff.. Then my state requires me to verify but because this [censored] hole id me instead making me lose benefits and [censored] unstop of overpayment and yet these mother [censored]ers can't do anything IDME wake up or get the hell out because I'm telling you about to see a ton and to
I go to file my unemployment and am required to have an account with id
I go to file my unemployment and am required to have an account with id.me. No problem I thought...wrong. Id.me is a complete scam it's meant to prevent fraud but in so treats everyone like a criminal, unnecessarily delaying already crucial UE funds. Thanks to id.me failure of a verification system my bills are behind again! Id.me has NO phone customer service, Id.me only customer support is a short form to enter your contact info. After approx 24-48 hrs they send an email that only says sorry for the delay. I have spent approx 25 hours waiting to be video verified, every time I get in the queue it's a minimum of 5 hours. I finally made it to the video verification and guess what? Their video software didn't even work! I was told to download an app on my phone and that app didn't work either! The rep said everyone is having trouble connecting and said he would escalate my issue to a supervisor. The rep said they were forbidden from using any other video chat app (like Duo, zoom or what's app... Even tho these are stable easily accessible apps compared to their crap software). That was 2 days ago and no follow up from id.me Supervisor as I fall even further behind on bills. This entire company is a joke, this couldn't have been integrated into UE at a worse time and these people are completely ill-equipped to handle the large volume of claims...a recipe for disaster. I truly hope a class action lawsuit is filed soon, I'm sure millions of claimants would sign up and bankrupt this ridiculous company and hopefully fine or fire the people in our govt that green lit this disaster! Not to mention how invasive it is for a third party company to have all your private documents. With a company as horrible as id.me I'm sure they'll get hacked or sell your data or leave it unsecured. It's awful that an average private citizen relying on federal benefits has to jump through all these absurd hoops and trust our personal data with a company that doesn't even have a Complaintsboard.com credential. I wish I could give this company -100 stars.

This company is an example of what is really wrong with America today
This company is an example of what is really wrong with America today. No compassion towards the people they are charged with serving. Basically if you are left of center as it pertains to credit reporting or a lack of credit history you are in big trouble as there are few ways to "Prove SSN". which is the requirement if your credit check fails .I don't do credit . Don't believe in it. As a result I am left with using 1099's as a means to prove SSN but idme requires that the 1099's display your full SSN. None of the 1099's I have received have the full number displayed ,just the last 4 digits. This is a catch 22 and short of a hard copy social security card there are no other options available to me to verify who I am to this company. I have submitted multiple requests for clarification or alternative means to prove SSN but have not heard back on any of these tickets they say have been opened. I assume this lack of proper requirements will result in me loosing my benefits shortly as there is a two week turnaround to replace my hard copy social security card. This company is a nightmare. 0 customer service. 0 response even after multiple days waiting for these so called "trusted referees" to grace us with a video chat. One would think with half the states contracting with idme that they would throw some of their ill begotten funding into addressing the hoard of confusing and often impossible requirements and day long wait times often only resulting in getting thrown back into the cue. If you are a home owner there will be plenty of ways to prove SSN. If you are not a home owner expect to fail the SSN part of the application and be thrown into an endless circle of frustrating wait times only to be denied for ridiculous requirements including but not limited to (full SSN printouts on 1099's) which no one includes to combat fraud. Just goes to show if you are not part of this massive credit culture you have no place in America any more. Someone please make these people accountable to their charge . It's taking a huge tole on deserving Americans who's only transgression happens to be not having a steady enough of an income to need a bank loan. If I could afford a mortgage, I wouldn't need this insulting and debasing financial assistance.

After 2 weeks I haven't been able to even set up my account past my email address, password and telephone number
After 2 weeks I haven't been able to even set up my account past my email address, password and telephone number. I've tried to complete step one through the verification process by taking pictures of my valid drivers license and although it verified documents were submitted it then directed me to the previous page which would refresh automatically once the pictures were uploaded. after watching the blue circle of death spin for 4 hours I gave up and attempted to try again the next day. To my surprise I was instantly locked out of "my account" for (which shouldn't exist since I was unable to make it past the first of 5 steps in the verification process) for 72 hours due to to many attempts? This on only my second attempt to verify myself. I waited 3 days and attempted the drivers license upload again and same issue and I gave up after 3 hours of the same result. Waited another day and now my non existent account has been temporarily suspended! I've sent two help tickets but after a week and a half have only received generic responses saying Thank you for your request a support representative will be reaching out to you as soon as possible with assistance. Then a day later the second helpful support email was received stating Thank you for contacting ID.me we apologize for the technical issues you are experiencing with your ID.me account. We will contact you once the issue is resolved. Of course there is no live contact number to call where anybody besides an answering machine answers but nobody ever calls back anyway. Its been two weeks and I have been unable to submit my Unemployment certification for the past three weeks. ID.me is a farce, there is no customer service or concern on their part, I'm confident they are being paid by the state of NC weekly or monthly and in the mean time Unemployed people are having to deal with rent, car, and insurance payments as well as fuel cost to look for employment, groceries and medications which are all unaffordable and out of reach as they play this game with peoples lives as they continue to turn a deaf ear to those that need the social safety net set in place for the unemployed. There isn't a rating low enough to fairly reflect the inability of ID.me to preform the job they were hired to accomplish. Thanks for playing with our lives and affecting our health and emotions in such a dire time for so many people in need. Frustrated beyond belief in NC

I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE THE END OF FEB TO GET UNEMPLOYEEMENT BENEFITS
I HAVE BEEN TRYING SINCE THE END OF FEB TO GET UNEMPLOYEEMENT BENEFITS. I WAS FINALLY TOLD BY THE NC EMPLOYEEMENT OFFICE THAT I HAD TO VERIFY THROUGH A COMPANY CALLED ID.ME. I WENT TO THEIR SITE AND FOLLOWED ALL DIRECTIONS TO VERIFY AND GOT A POP UP THAT MY DOCUMENTS WERE SUCCESSFULLY UPLOADED. WHEN I WENT INTO MY ACCOUNT, MY DOCUMENTS WERE NOT THERE. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO RESEND THEM AND EVERYTIME IT SAID THAT THEY WERE SUCCESSFULLY UPLOADED BUT THEY WOULD NEVER BE ON MY ACCOUNT. SINCE ID.ME HAS NO CONTACT NUMBER, I SENT THEM MESSAGES THROUGH THEIR WEBSITE. AT FIRST, I WOULD GET A REPLY WITHIN 2 DAYS OF MY MESSAGE TELLING ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO TRY AGAIN BECAUSE THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING MY DOCUMENTS. THEY TOLD ME TO SWITCH FROM MY PHONE TO A COMPUTER, WHICH I HAD BEEN USING ALL ALONG. SO, I SWITCHED TO MY PHONE TO GET THE SAME MESSAGE, MY DOCUMENTS HAD BEEN SUCCESSFULLY UPLOADED ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THEY STILL WERE NOT ON MY ACCOUNT. I HAVE SENT SEVERAL MESAGES TO THEM ALWAYS GETTING DIFFERENT REPLIES. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE NCESC AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THEM TO UNLOCK MY ACCOUNT SO THAT THEY COULD SYNC MY INFORMATION WITH MY NCESC ACCOUNT. WHEN I CALLED THE NCESC TOLL FREE NUMBER, THEY WOULD TELL ME THAT ID.ME TOLD ME WRONG AND THAT THEY WERE THE ONES THAT HAD MY ACCOUNT LOCKED AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO UNLOCK TO IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET VERIFIED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. NOW THEY DO NOT EVEN ANSWER MY MESSAGES. THERE IS NO CONTACT PHONE NUMBER FOR THEM AND THE REFEREE CRAP THAT THEY HAVE ON THEIR WEBSITE WILL NOT WORK FOR ME. I HAVE CONTACTED MY STATE CONGRESSMENS OFFICE AND ALSO THE GOVERNORS OFFICE WITH NO HELLP WHAT SO EVER. NO ONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO HELP ME WITH THIS SITUATION. IN THE MEANTIME, I AM INDANGER OF BEING FORECLOSED ON BECAUSE MY HOURS AT WORK WERE CUT DOWN TO ONE DAY A WEEK. THIS SITE IS NOT HELPFUL AT ALL AND THERE IS NO CORRESPONDENCE FROM THE AT ALL ANY LONGER. I CONTINUE TO TRY BUT I GET NOTHING AND NO HELP. TWO MONTHS AND MY NCESC CLAIM HAS MORE THAN LIKELY BEEN CLOSED BY NOW. THIS IS A HORRIBLE SITUATION FOR PEOPLE AND I KNOW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIX THIS. IT IS VERY AGGREVATING FOR PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT NEED HELP AND CANNOT GET IT. IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, STAY AWAY FROM THE COMPANY. I ALSO PLAN ON FILING A COMPLAINT WITH THE NCESC OFFICE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. IF I COULD LEAVE NO STARS FOR THEM I WOULD. ONLY LEAVING ONE BECAUSE I HAVE TO.

My complaint is about IDme.com Indiana Unemployment Department has partnered with this useless company to verify identity and avoid fraudulent
My complaint is about IDme.com Indiana Unemployment Department has partnered with this useless company to verify identity and avoid fraudulent claims. I was laid off from my job a month ago. I am already in the system because I was laid off before in March to June due to COVID- 19 health directives. March I am laid off again. I was laid off the day after my last claim expired. I was directed to file my last voucher, click do not except and then file a new claim. It took almost a week just for the claim to go through. It seemed like the system had to catch up with itself. Then when the voucher to do page came up, I filed for my voucher. It didn't get verified and a message box above the to do box indicated identity needs to be verified. That box linked me to IDme.com. I uploaded all requested documents. Drivers license, social security card and passport. Not accepted. Additional documents. Uploaded my health insurance card. Not accepted. Uploaded my Nationalization citizen certificate not accepted. They said the name doesn't match my application. I received my US citizenship almost 30 years ago. I was not married then. The naturalization certificate is a government issued document. It is not renewable or updatable like a passport. It is one and done. These documents were uploaded several times upon request even though they state that one of the reasons for rejection is uploading your documents multiple times. I also did a face scan through a link they sent to my phone. They requested a video chat to verify my actual documents with an agent. The wait time is anywhere from 3 - 5 hours. When you finally get to connecting, you are asked to upload your documents again for approval before the chat can commence. After you upload your documents you are told to rejoin the que which is an additional 3-4 hour wait. It just goes on and on, round and round and you don't get anywhere. You can only contact them through email. They give you a ticket number. They answered the first email but did not resolve the issue. My second email has yet to be answered. I called the unemployment office. When I finally reached someone, I told them what was happening. They said that they partner with IDme.com but they can not help or intervene because they have nothing to do with the company. They will release my vouchers when IDme.com verifies my identity. I don't feel like I'm dealing with real people. It's like dealing with a computer that's been programmed with limited criteria. emails have scripted questions and answers that don't apply to your specific issue so, there is no resolution. Their emails are outsourced to yet another company, zendesk.com. If I could give this company zero stars, I would rate them at -0 stars. How am I supposed to get this resolved. I feel like I live in a third world country, not the United States of America.

The worst business ever - unethical and infuriatingly pathetic customer service
The worst business ever - unethical and infuriatingly pathetic customer service. To begin, I simply wanted to file for unemployment and was forced to use this service. It tells you that only need to upload certain documents, but then after you have done so, requires you to upload more. Not even the bank, my doctor, or voter registration requires what they are asking for. Here is what was required of me: my license, passport, phone, email, a selfie, and video of myself... THEN they wanted to schedule a phone call/Skype session with someone to "verify" what I had already uploaded. I was supposed to be sitting by the phone with these documents in hand to hold up to the phone and waive them around and say "see...here they are for real"... The system forces this on you. I was placed in phone call cue 4 TIMES. I waited almost 13 hours the first day. Then uploaded everything again and waited 11 hours the next day. They wanted me to upload the same stuff again. Day 3 - in the cue for 3 1/2 hours (it said 30 minutes - such bs). After 3 1/2 hours it said "Connecting your call" but then disconnected the call and gave me another message. Now it said "You must upload photos of your documents. No scans. No pdfs". Okay... well I had uploaded photos - JPGs - and had done so a total of 5 times! I email customer service. The give you an auto generated response that says "Click this link". What is the link? A link that takes you back to uploading documents again. I reply to the stupid auto generated response and it says "This is e-mail is not monitored. If you have a question, click on this link and contact customer service". What is that link? It's the original link I already used. I opened 5 different tickets at customer service, thinking that would help. Nope. It has been 5 days and I still have not been verified and Customer Service does not exist. I asked to speak to a Supervisor. No reply to my email. I asked to file a complaint. No reply. And here is the biggest issue: Where is my personal and private data? Images of my passport? LOST in cyberspace where someone can hack it? They can't protect our private data/identity - they lose it and ask you to re-upload, but this is the company that is supposed to verify our identities? YOU CAN'T EVEN KEEP TRACK OF MY IDENTITY. Not to mention, what am I, a criminal? Do you want blood and a retinal scan? Why do you need this level of personal data just for my EDD application? I have collected unemployment in the past. It was good enough then and I should be pre-verified in the system. How this company is allowed to operate when it's computer systems aren't even built to handle their volume of business is a disgrace. These are people's most sensitive data this company is taking charge of, and it is reckless and careless. How can you not have Customer Service? This company is going to be smacked with a class action lawsuit. It is only a matter of time. Unconscionable.
If I could give this company less than 1 star I absolutely would
If I could give this company less than 1 star I absolutely would. I cannot believe a company that operates so incredibly inefficiently can land so many government contracts. I Have 100% valid information which I've entered on their site as a requirement of Colorado Unemployment. They have told me I "we can't verify you with that phone number please enter a home phone or an alternate associated with your home address" ok. Who has a home phone anymore? Additionally I have had this exact same cell number in my name for 15+ years. I have also lived at the same address for over 6 years. So I go through the process to addd additional documentation and I used my valid Colorado state ID my health insurance card and a vaid statement (less than 90 days old) from my bank as those are the only acceptable documents I have available. 3 separate times I've waited well over 5 hours to get a video chat and each time my bank statement or my social security card or a medical bill have been rejected and then you're just back to square 1. You wait 5 hours or more just to be told "sorry better luck next time" this is insane. I haven't been able to access my completely legitimate Unemployment benefits because of this for ALMOST 3 WEEKS! I'm on the verge of being evicted, haven't been able to pay bills or buy food. I've also e mailed ID.ME 4 or 5 times only to receive a response several days later saying they are sorry and working "diligently to get caught up and a support member will be reaching out shortly " after 3 weeks I haven't heard a single word. I've been in contact with the Colorado State Department Of Labor daily and they too have voiced multiple issues with this company and their inability to operate effectively or remotely efficiently. As a result thousands of people are stuck without their desperately needed benefits and all the company can say is "we're working on it" this is really an awful situation that only makes all the events and economic hardships for people like me over the past year so much worse. The CEO of this company goes on Denver local news and claims to "care" but then immediately points out all the fraud they are preventing by showing 2, yes two examples of people cheating the system by wearing Halloween masks during their "video chat with a trusted referee" how did those people even get to the point of having a video chat? Because I've been trying for almost 3 weeks and I'm a legitimate tax paying American citizen with valid documents and haven't been able to even get that far. This company is an absolute joke and a disgrace and the fact they continue to get government contracts with the past history of these same issues in every state prior to Colorado and now Colorado also, is also a serious disappointment to legitimate Unemployment clients who are just trying to survive and put food on the table. This is a disgrace and this company should be ashamed of themselves. Yes you are preventing the maybe 5% fraud cases while denying thousands of legitimate people their benefits in the process.

We were trying to opt out of the *** I managed to do so easily with my existing *** account, but was told my wife
We were trying to opt out of the *** I managed to do so easily with my existing *** account, but was told my wife needed to opt out separately. Easy enough, you'd think. Oh, you need an account for that? So she tried creating an *** account like mine, which failed at the account info step for reasons that weren't explained. Account locked for 24 hours. On to the only other available option, creating an ID.me account. When asked, we made CLEAR, SHARP, COMPLETE scans of her VALID driver's license, yet these scans were consistently rejected when uploading them from a desktop computer, usually vaguely claiming the image was obscured by "glare" (none visible, really), sometimes because they "couldn't detect the image of your face" (on the back side of the driver's license?). Uploading from the desktop appears completely non-functional. Scanning the license using her mobile phone eventually did appear to work: we got a nice green frame around the image, which were CLEAR, SHARP, showed all four corners of the license, and a checkbox next to the image. Yet, after uploading, we were told the documents somehow couldn't be verified and she needed to do a "video selfie". The hassle was beginning to upset her, but ultimately she grudgingly agreed to doing it. This appeared to work (another check box). But, again, something couldn't be verified. Now the site asked to do a "video chat" with a "trusted referee". There was also language about "additional documents". At this point, my wife had enough. This is just not realistic for a simple opt-out. We gave up and deleted her account. Probably a good thing, we saved ourselves hours of fruitless waiting time for that video chat. Let the Child Tax Credit payments come, we'll send them right back by making estimated tax payments. ID.me seems at the minimum a badly incompetent tech outfit, although a cynic might say it certainly is convenient for various government agencies if people face maximal friction before they can claim benefits, blame for which can effortlessly be deflected onto a third party. Note also how their "Support Team" here subtly keeps blaming the victims: images are suspected of being "blurry, cut-off, or hard to read", or they were "unable to match information you provided with the electronic records we use for verification", as if the submitted documents are somehow tainted or the provided information is faulty. Guess what? If you can't handle pictures people take in daily life, you need better software not better pictures. (Our own experience described above suggests they can't even handle perfect pictures.) If you can't match valid documents against your "electronic records", maybe it's your records that are faulty not people's documents. If you provide no phone number, you probably know perfectly well your incompetence would lead to an unmanageable call volume. If there are days-long waiting loops for "trusted referees", you're probably counting on the majority of customers simply giving up. But who do we hold accountable? Someone needs to be fired for unleashing these guys onto the general US public.

I will try to be as short as I can
I will try to be as short as I can. For 2 weeks I have been trying to get verified, it wasn't working through their portal or their app. After getting the six digit code on my phone and then verifying my email, nothing would happen I was completely lost I felt that it was asking me for the generated code in case I had ever forgotten my login information, i tried that and that didn't work either I was just not being taken to the verify section to upload my documents. Eventually today, or last night I found it after trying 6 hours unfortunately I am not going to go into explaining how I found the problem because I will be here the whole day but there is definitely a flaw and I got through it. Once I found it, and was able to upload my documents my face was scanned, then all of my information popped up, it was correct, it asked me if I had ever used a different last name I said yes and wrote down my maiden name then submitted it after about 15 seconds it came back and said I was not able to get verified I tried it again it said the same, finally it gave me the option to speak to a referee on a live call I was excited to see that the referee was available right then and there to my disappointment I went into a 5-hour and 47 minute wait. After waiting 3 hours and 7 minutes it went into a 2 hour and 40 minutes wait and that has not changed for the last 5 hours so I'm sitting here not able to unplug my phone from its charging place unable to go anywhere or do anything but look at the phone I am using my fiance's phone to write this review. I then went to see what was the world saying about Id.me and came up on the complaintsboard.com and saw that along with thousands of people we all are sharing the same complaints and the id.me company is answering and I couldn't do anything but laugh in disgust at their answers! They are sitting here lying to us saying that they are there for us for support when in fact after trying to use their chat section and it asked me to pick from the list about what subject it was that I needed to talk about and I chose unemployment and then chose North Carolina as my state their answer kept being North Dakota and sending me to an article that I should read about the North Dakota unemployment verification process when I kept saying North Carolina and I didn't even type it I chose my state from their list then I went into their app reviews in the Play store and saw that every single person there complained about the same thing not being able to get verified being on hold for a referee losing their place in a call and then I felt that I was all alone, who would help me if we the people are depending on this company to verify us and not only are they not fixing their flaws they are acting as if they are continually being helpful supportive, resourceful and accurate judging from the answers that they're giving on here. business bureau reviews. one response I was shocked to read them telling a complainer that they had seen where she had only held for 4 days as if 1 hour is not long enough. To this moment I am questioning my states' decision for hiring ID.me for their verifying system, did they not verify them by reading the awful reviews and all the one Stars that people have left here on the complaintsboard.com and at the Play store on the reviews of their application as if I would ever even choose to do business with them and spend money on whatever products they are selling. Currently, I am still holding for two more hours and 40 minutes but like I said this has been this way for the last 5 hours or so so I don't know how many more 2 hours and 40 more minutes am I supposed to wait but because in this case I am needing to do this, then I will have to stay here and hope and pray that I have a positive outcome because I am going on the second week of not receiving my unemployment benefits when I was eligible, and continue to be eligible and I'm also verifiable I hope that they are held accountable for what they have done to people who in some cases have been waiting for 2 months to get verified and I know a few others that simply walked away and gave up on their unemployment benefits as if they are seeing "okay, fine you win, keep your money, or should I say, "fine, you win, keep my money. It is completely rude and unfair that all of this is just getting by and no one is sitting down and asking this company those questions and what do they plan on doing to becoming a 100% customer reliable grade A company. It's a shame a real shame. Undoubtedly now I see why they don't have a live customer service number that we can call and get our situations resolved. They should be made to have a live customer service call center.

ID Me
My verified ID ME account has been suspended due to suspicious activity. However I explained that it has only been me trying to use the account. I have a VPN on my phone. I have at times used friends computers because I don’t have my own. I read their fact sheets and several times changed the password as it instructed. All that did was make things worse. I told them everything and I was truthful. This was all done via email with ID Me. I’m sick of the nonsense. They chose not to believe me. They don’t know me.
Desired outcome: Restore my suspended ID ME account
Verification
This is the craziest thing. My daughter who is getting ready to go to college needs to have here ID.me account verified and since she is 18 it is showing that she cannot be verified and says no consumer report. All we want to do is get her verified so we can set up direct deposit for here DEA 35 money.
We even went to the post office today and they got an error code 009.
This is pathetic
Desired outcome: I need my daughter to be verified
Lack of help from their support
I got my information compromised with a photo and I been trying to contact this company to see if they can help me with this matter. I been emailing them every day since they don’t have a phone line to talk to a person. I been telling them that I my account with my email address and another one by the scammer. What do they do they erase my account instead of the scammer. They should erase all accounts with my name and the real person should open an account using their identification method because I got trick to take the photo. Now I can access my government accounts and the scammer has my sensitive information.
Desired outcome: I want them to erase all account with my name and facial info. So the real me registers and can log in to my federal accounts.

Customer Service - Fraud Suspension of Account
I was notified by text that my ID.me account was used to sign into a site I don't use. I replied "No" to the "Was this you" text. My account was suspended. I filed a notification form and received an email requesting more information. I filled out the form and returned it. I received another identical form, which I also returned. I've returned the EXACT SAME FORM NINE TIMES. In response, I get ANOTHER IDENTICAL FORM TO FILL OUT. NOTHING is being done to resolve my problem. Meanwhile, I have NO ACCESS to any of my VA or military sites. I just keep getting sent it circles. It's been five days and NOTHING has been done.
Desired outcome: Contact me so I can get this fixed..
Who did you contact? I need help as well !
Create id.me account
2:56 pm 7/11/2023 I've been trying for several days to create an id.me account so that I can access VA life insurance. It WILL NOT accept my information and keeps saying it cannot verify my identity (which I have had for 72 years!) There is no customer service available to fix this issue and the robot chat doesn't address it. ALL INFO IS CORRECT SO WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?!? Pretty sure you don't have my profile, since you won't create the account. email is [protected]@yahoo.com John Robert Amdahl. Phone is [protected], talk to me, or my wife (who handles all my affairs) Jo Amdahl.
Desired outcome: Create the account!

A lady who I had online relationship with had me verify my identification 3 years and has attached her email address o...[protected]@gmail.com to my identification. I need her remove from my identification and Social Security Number. I can't update my information now. This has followed me to 3 different email addresses([protected]@gmail.com, [protected]@gmail.com and [protected]@gmail.com. My identification is not updating and it says it is a duplicate account. I have block the lady who attached herself to my identification.
Desired outcome: Please have the email o.....[protected]@gmail.com removed and separated from my identifications. It is causing problems with me getting benefits here.
idme
Cannot resolve problem trying to log in with old user and password. Tried to change it but could not because I think there is more then one account. So, I need to speak to someone to remove all accounts and start over to establish a new account. There is not phone number to do this and not actual person who responds just automated emails that do not fix the problem, the company is overrated and I have tried to work with them but they do not have a way of fixing problems in a timely manner. If they would call you and direct you that may help but with out that you are dead in the water. Cannot understand why the government uses them since they are so inept, not user friendly.
Desired outcome: A call from them or a phone number where some one will actually assist you.
I can never get after I set up two accounts by mistake
I have reached out to IDME but no one has responded.
-I am out of work and I can't get in to file my unemployment claim.
-Your no telephone number and the Chat Box is basics.
-The instructions to solve the solution is not correct, I tried 10x.
-
I don't know why give out these contracts to companies and they are not doing a good job of servicing the community.
Yet another government failed contract.
Desired outcome: Make it easier for someone to be verified with an email. if a duplicate email is created, so what! my cell phone cannot be duplicated so why not use an alternative way to access OUR Account!.
Duplicate account I did not set up
I totally forgot that I had set up an id.me account in 2017. When I attempted to set up one 10 days ago, I got a notice that this account has a duplicate account under the email of r*****[protected]@protonmail.com. It was not me and I don't know anyone with this email. No one knew I had set up the account in 2017 or tried again recently, and no one has my passwords. 3 different support chats proved nothing except that I had to sign in with this illegitimate account and showed my account was temporarily suspended and that I should now contact [protected]@id.me, which I did last week but no reply yet. I can't even get on irs.gov, etc. without a current id.me account.
PLEASE HELP ME
Desired outcome: FIND OUT WHO STARTED THIS DUPLICATE ACCOUNT AND HAS THE EMAIL ADDRESS (ALSO LOGIN NAME) OF r*****[protected]@protonmil.com
ID.me Review: Pleasantly Surprised at First, But Nightmare Experience Verifying ID for Massachusetts PUA Claim
I recently had to verify my ID for my tax return from both state and federal. At first, I was hesitant to use ID.me because of some negative reviews I had read online. However, I decided to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised that they didn't seem to have a problem with verifying my ID.
Unfortunately, my experience with ID.me took a turn for the worse when I had to verify my ID for Massachusetts after my claim was put on hold for 24 weeks. I was told to go to ID.me to verify my ID, but I had a lot of trouble with their service. I went back and forth with customer service for two weeks, but no matter what I did, their service would not work. I could only open an account, and nothing would process. Links did not work, links looped back around, and I couldn't upload anything. It was a total nightmare, and the webpage was not optimized for phone use on Android.
The only answer they could give me was to go to a library and use a public computer, which seemed strange to me. I was hesitant to enter all my personal private information on a public access computer, especially since the system was failing to work for me. It didn't give me much confidence that they cared about the security of the data or documents they get from people to verify their ID.
I messed around for a week, but when I finally got the message from Mass PUA that they denied my claim because I could not verify my ID with ID.me, I was devastated. I had been waiting for 24 weeks for something, anything, and then they pulled this with a company that should not be allowed to be doing this. I believe that ID.me is a criminal company and should be held responsible for their actions.
I am now homeless and have lost everything because of this experience. I believe that the owner of this company should be put in jail for what they have done to me and others like me. It's a shame that a company like ID.me can get away with treating people like this.
ID.me App Review: Frustrating and Ineffective for IRS Login
This ID.me app is supposed to protect us from identity theft, which is a big problem in this country. I appreciate the effort to keep us safe, but when the government, like the IRS, forces us to use it, I expect it to work perfectly. Unfortunately, that's not the case.
If you've ever moved, changed your phone number, or bought a new phone, you'll have trouble logging in. It's a complete waste of time and incredibly frustrating. I'm so fed up with this app that I'm considering moving to Switzerland just to get away from it.
First of all, if you try to log in from a browser that it doesn't recognize, like Chrome, it won't let you in. Then, even if you manage to jump through all the hoops, it takes you through a never-ending loop of codes and ID verification. It's like they don't trust you at all. And even after all that, you still can't use it to log into the IRS website.
It's ridiculous that a security app can be so good that it leaves the actual user out of their own data. It's a worthless, garbage app, and it's irresponsible of the IRS to expect us to deal with all this BS.
ID.me Needs to Step Up: Review of the Verification System for Unemployment Claims
I totally agree with everyone's comments on here about ID.me. I even sent an email to the CEO of ID.me to tell him how bad their system is. To my surprise, he responded back to me and offered to help me. He seemed like a nice guy and a fellow Veteran. However, I think they are in way over their heads at this point. They are getting slammed with claims verification's from all over the country.
Speaking only in regards to California, I put most of the blame on the California EDD. They are the ones responsible for the lack of security, technology, and planning. There are plenty of accountability problems that the EDD has, and I won't even get into all of them.
On the other hand, ID.me should have planned ahead for this. They should have had their software and systems tweaked to where there wouldn't be all of the BS problems people are experiencing confirming their identity. I know they are hiring more people, but that doesn't excuse the excessive failure rate. They also need to have an actual toll-free number that answers calls in real-time. They are pulling in big money now - it's time for them to step up and get their sh*** together. Even I had problems with their system. I have been background checked multiple times, Federal security clearances, etc., and I had issues with ID.me.
I communicated to the CEO and pointed out the severe issues that people are having. Many people are suffering hardships getting their Unemployment Insurance because of ID.me delaying or holding up the process. He is aware of the problems. Hopefully, Mr. Hall improves the poor system they have in place.
Frustrated with ID.me: Multiple Dead Ends and False Promises
I am so frustrated with ID.me. I have been trying to sign up for their service because I need it for Arizona UI, but it just doesn't work. They keep sending me links to verify my identity through texts, but when I get to the end, it says my phone number is not valid. How can that be when they just sent me texts? I have tried this over 5 times on day 1, and it's just a dead end every time.
Then they have this "speak face to face over camera" thing, which is supposed to be easier, but it's not. They ask for even more information than the first time, and it's just a joke. I tried signing up with another email, but it just links me to ads for companies they work with to provide coupons. It won't let me use a different email at all.
I am so annoyed with this whole process. It's like they don't want me to sign up. I even went to a physical office to try to get it done, but they just gave me a printout of the same process. So now I'm back at it again, and it's the same joke it was the first time. Multiple dead ends, and even when I use a different phone number, it says it's not valid.
I am so mad at ID.me that I am considering a class action lawsuit. They have convinced all these government agencies to use their service, but it doesn't work at all. And now they have our identities sitting on their servers with nothing in return. It's just not right. I hope this company goes out of business.
Avoid ID.me for FL Unemployment - A Complete Joke!
This ID.me website is a complete joke. I was trying to access my FL unemployment account to check on a payment that I didn't even request, but the whole Connect page was gone and replaced with some Republican Governor named Death Santis who was blocking all access. It seemed simple enough at first - just upload a picture of your driver's license. But of course, that was never going to be enough. There was always some kind of problem with the upload, whether it was the contrast, file size, or some other random excuse. It was like they were purposely trying to stonewall me and prevent me from making any progress.
After all of my uploads failed for one reason or another, they set a time for a video verification. But then, when that was supposed to happen, they found ANOTHER problem with my uploads and said they needed more time to review them. What a bunch of nonsense! I could clearly see everything on my documents, down to the individual bar codes. But apparently, that wasn't good enough for them.
Eventually, I gave up and the FL unemployment system was done with me. They just wanted me to go away and maybe they'd email me... whenever. And if they did email me and I actually got a video chat, I had to have ALL my uploaded documents physically with me so I could present them AGAIN over the video chat, even though they already had them and could see my face on at least 3 documents AND on the video chat. It was like dealing with a bunch of [censored]ic first graders who were running a scam ID theft company.
To make matters worse, this Death Santis guy passed the largest tax hike on Floridians ever with the online purchases tax. It was supposed to replenish the unemployment system without asking his business donors to pay their fair share. What a bunch of corrupt Republican political puppets!
Overall, I would not recommend using ID.me. It's a complete waste of time and energy. Just find another way to access your accounts or information.
Disappointing Experience Working for ID.me: Lack of Support and Unjust Termination
I recently started working for ID.me and I have to say, it was a huge disappointment. I was excited to join a company that valued its employees as much as its customers, but that was not the case. My training was supposed to last for 8 weeks, but it was a nightmare. The trainer, Adriana, was not helpful at all. She got irritated whenever anyone didn't understand something right away and nitpicked at everything we did. It was frustrating and demotivating.
To make matters worse, I was fired by ID.me after just two weeks of working there. They claimed that I left early and came late every day, which was a complete lie. I was shocked and devastated to hear that. I did everything I could to make sure I got to work on time every day, even though it was challenging. I only came late once and I notified the trainer about it. I also let her know that I had to leave early on the same day to pick up my daughter. I thought I did everything right, but apparently, that was not enough.
Adriana was the only person who could have told her superiors that I was always late and left early, which was not true. The day before I got fired, she gave me an evaluation and told me that I was doing a great job and gave me some constructive feedback. I thought everything was fine until I got that call. I was devastated to lose my job in the middle of a pandemic. I have a family to feed and bills to pay, and this opportunity was taken away from me without any explanation.
I have to say that this company does not care about its employees. They claim to have values, but they don't follow them themselves. They are only interested in making money and don't care about the people who work for them. If you are thinking about working for ID.me, I would advise you to think twice. It's not worth it.
Tips for a Smooth ID.me Verification Process: A Comprehensive Guide
If you're having trouble with the verification process on ID.me, don't worry, you're not alone. It can be a frustrating experience, but there are some steps you can take to make it easier. First, contact your local unemployment agency and ask for permission to create a new email for your claim. Once you have permission, create a new ID.me account and link it to your claim. If you were using Textme or another calling app to verify your number, you can keep your old ID.me account. Otherwise, close your old account and retry the verification process in 24 hours.
The best platform to start the process on is your computer using Microsoft Edge. It loads faster and responds better than other browsers like Firefox and Chrome. Make sure you have a webcam as well, as you may need to do a video call if your two primary documents couldn't be verified or if you need to verify a document combo. Wait times for the video call can be long, so be patient.
If you're having trouble with the verification process, don't bother messaging support or calling their contact number. It's a waste of time. Instead, make sure your unemployment office is aware of your repeated failed attempts and ask to create a new email. Don't hide anything from them, keep them posted.
Make sure all your information matches on your documents and on your ID.me profile. The issue I had was a zip-code error. I couldn't verify the zip on my profile because it was wrong due to an auto-fill error. If I had provided the correct information, it could have been considered fraud and I would have lost my benefits. So, make sure you double-check all your information before submitting it.
Finally, if you do everything right, you should receive an email with a link for a video call. It only took me three minutes to complete the call, and I was able to get the benefits I was entitled to. So, don't give up hope. Just remember to get permission first and follow these steps to make the process easier.
Id.me Review: Not Worth the Hassle or Risk for Unemployment Assistance
I gotta say, if you're thinking about using id.me, you might wanna think twice. I mean, it's not worth the hassle, the time, and the risk of putting your personal info out there. I mean, seriously, it's not like you're gonna get a real person on the line or anything. I know a lot of folks are using id.me for unemployment assistance right now, but trust me, you're not gonna get any help from these guys.
If your unemployment agency has a phone line for filing new claims, just keep calling that number until you get through. I know it's a pain in the butt, but it's better than dealing with id.me. I mean, it took me over a month just to get to this point, and I'm still not sure if I'm gonna get any help.
I checked out id.me's official Twitter, and it looks like they might respond if you DM them or something. But I wouldn't count on it. I mean, it's not like they have a support line or anything. I'm just saying, that's what I saw.
My experience with id.me has been pretty much the same as everyone else's. They ask for all this personal info for verification, and then they can't even verify it. And then they tell you to wait for a live agent. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, but nope. It's just id.me being id.me. And I've waited for hours and days, and still no help.
Honestly, I feel kinda stupid for trusting id.me in the first place. I mean, just because it's approved by the EDD doesn't mean it's any good. They take all this personal info, and then they can't even verify you. What do they do with all that info? I don't even wanna know. If there's a way to delete my account with id.me, I'm all for it.
Nightmare Experience with ID.me: Poor Customer Service and Endless Verification Process
ID.me is a service that I recently used to verify my identity for PUA unemployment. Let me tell you, it was a nightmare. I spent over 14 hours in the span of three days trying to get verified. I provided them with my license, state ID, health insurance card, credit history info, and my social security number, but apparently, that wasn't enough. I had to send them at least 60 different pictures of my IDs, and they kept telling me that they couldn't verify one of the pictures.
I tried to get someone on the phone, but it was impossible. Their customer service is non-existent. You can't talk to a real person, not even through email. When you tell them that you're having a problem, they just email you back saying sorry for the long wait. They don't even address your actual problem with their software or program. They just tell you to resubmit, and you get stuck in a cycle of filling out their questions and taking pictures of your IDs over and over again.
This whole experience was driving me crazy. If I could give ID.me negative stars, I would. This site should be shut down. It's an embarrassment. Even Comcast has better customer service than this.
It's like if your cable went out, and you emailed them to say it's not working (since calling is way too convenient, so it doesn't exist), and then they tell you to plug it in. You tell them it's already plugged in, but they tell you to email about problems. So you email them again, saying that your cable isn't working, but it's already plugged in. Then they email you back, saying sorry for the wait, and tell you to plug your cable in again. It's like they're not even listening to you.
I feel like someone on the other end is just dying laughing, like they're just playing with me. This whole experience was a complete waste of my time, and I wouldn't recommend ID.me to anyone.
Navigating the Incompetent IRS.gov Website: A Nightmare of Retyping and Resubmitting Personal Information
Accessing your personal information from the IRS.gov website can be a daunting task. It's no secret that the government is not known for its efficient management, and the IRS website is no exception. The website is poorly managed, and the administration is incompetent, making it one of the worst websites in the world. You will have to retype and resubmit your information several hundred times, and you will need an antidepressant to help you deal with the anxiety and anger that comes with navigating this website.
By the time you finally submit everything, all your personal information that you couldn't find on the internet will now be available to everyone. Unfortunately, the IRS.gov has delegated everyone's information to a third party, ID.me, which is without recourse. Mercy cannot be granted to anyone attempting to obtain their personal information from a government agency.
The USPS has gone down the tubes of a toilet, and our savior has been AMAZON, who is now managing same-day deliveries for "other" businesses. We can't wait for Amazon to offer that service on the personal/individual level. We are praying for Tesla/Amazon to take over our government administrations.
I have provided a picture of the many attempts to connect with a third-party representative. There were a total of 14 attempts! Not all are reflected in the picture! It is up to ID.me to provide you, the citizen, with the credentials to access your personal information from the IRS.gov website, even if you previously had a username and password with the IRS.
This has been the worst experience ever, topped only by my Daytona State College experience. The best tip is to try to do it while everyone else is sleeping. My first attempt at 4 am was easier than my attempts during the weekend. So be prepared to invest the time and effort to access your personal information from the IRS.gov website.
