Instant Checkmate Polite and provided requested service to cancel subscription

Re: Polite and provided requested service to cancel subscription

I used checkmate only once, satisfied and forgot that I had a monthly charge. When I received the email invoice and called them, they instantly satisfied my request to unsubscribe.

Instant Checkmate Review of customer service representative

I needed help accessing the report I had filed, and somehow lost, on my computer. The customer service representative was incredibly patient, expert and professional. She walked me through the steps and hung in there while I struggled to accomplish them. She was warm and personable as well.

Instant Checkmate Best resolution Ive ever received

I needed to find someone so I could serve them with court papers. A whole year later I was still paying and not actively using the service. The customer service I received when I called to rectify my concerns was the best Ive ever encountered in any company Ive ever had to deal with. She listened to my whole story, understood my viewpoint and satisfied my request beyond my expectations. I could not say enough about how helpful she was and how impressed with her I am and I hope her supervisor knows how great she is at her job as well as how greatful I am. Thank you

Instant Checkmate Mixed Experience with Instant Checkmate

After exploring various reviews about Instant Checkmate, it's evident that the service has received mixed feedback from customers. While some users have expressed satisfaction with the speed and accuracy of the searches, others have highlighted issues such as overcharging, lack of detailed information, and inaccuracies in the reports. It seems that the service may work well for some individuals seeking basic information, but there are concerns about the value provided for the price. Potential customers should consider these factors before deciding to use Instant Checkmate.

Instant Checkmate Great Company

Great company. The representative (Jennelle) I spoke to today 2/22, was superior compared to the representative I spoke to a few months ago who didn't cancel my service, as she said she would. Jennelle did immediately.as she said she would.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate: Dodgy Business Practices and Poor Customer Service

So, I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty bad experience with InstantCheckmate. I mean, I'm disabled and don't work, so why in the world would I need to investigate myself? But apparently, someone used my old email address to open an account and start snooping around back in 2017. I didn't even know about it until my husband saw a charge on our card that I didn't recognize. We called InstantCheckmate and they told us what was going on - the account had never been used, but they were charging us every month. They closed the account, but said they could only refund us for the past 12 months. I mean, come on, how can a legit company only refund part of what they took from me? It's not like I'm rolling in dough over here on SSDI.

Anyway, we tried to get in touch with them to sort it out, but they blocked us on Twitter and Facebook. We did get an email from someone named Amy, who claimed to be the Director of Member Services, but when we called back, there was no Amy or Member Services to be found. It's all pretty sketchy if you ask me. I think they need to be investigated or something.

But then, just the other day, I saw that InstantCheckmate responded to my review on Consumer Affairs. They apologized for the confusion and said that someone from their member care department would contact me to help resolve the issue. I haven't heard from them yet, but maybe there's hope after all.

Overall, I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with InstantCheckmate. They took my money without my permission and then tried to dodge me when I tried to get it back. It's not a good look for a company that's supposed to be all about transparency and trustworthiness.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Don't Waste Your Money on This Useless Site

Don't waste your time or money on InstantCheckmate. They claim to provide a wealth of information about an individual, but in reality, the information they offer is meager and useless. For a basic membership fee of around $23 per month, you'll only get the person's name, address, phone number, and even their horoscope information. Who cares about that? It's ridiculous! And if you want to access more information about the person's criminal or arrest records, you'll have to pay even more for their "Premium" data. But don't fall for it! It's just a ploy to get you to spend more of your hard-earned money.

I fell for the basic membership sales pitch and was sorely disappointed. I didn't bother with the premium data because I knew it would be a waste of money. I suspect that every time you pay for more information, they'll just ask you to pay even more for additional data. It's a scam! While they may not be breaking any laws, they're certainly not ethical. The basic membership "product" they offer is easily accessible through Google, and they use the promise of "premium data" to lure you into spending more money. Don't fall for it!

I canceled my membership after just one day with this sorry site. They took my $23, but I learned my lesson. Don't waste your time or money on InstantCheckmate.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate.com Review: Inaccurate Information and Pushy Sales Tactics

So, I was just browsing the internet and stumbled upon InstantCheckmate.com. I was curious about what kind of information people can find out about someone online, so I decided to give it a try.

First off, the site didn't even know my name, which was a bit disappointing. I changed my name due to a divorce about 2.5 years ago, so I wasn't expecting it to have my current name. However, it did come up with several people related to me, which was somewhat impressive.

The site did have my middle initial wrong and my old married name, which was a bit of a letdown. It did correctly identify the last 3 cities I have lived in, but then it started bombarding me with sales tactics to get me to pay for more information. I had to wait at least 10 minutes for all of the supposed information to load, which was frustrating.

When I tried to leave the page, the site made it difficult to do so. It even offered to give me incorrect information about myself for just $1 after saying the least expensive "package" was $24.00 (I think). I wasn't willing to pay even $1 for incorrect information, especially since the site had my old name and incorrect middle initial.

The site also had all of these disclaimers saying that you can't use it to stalk anyone or deny a job to anyone. So unless you're a private detective, I don't even think it's worth $1. Plus, one of the people it said I was possibly related to has been dead for over 3 years, which was a bit creepy.

Overall, I wasn't too impressed with InstantCheckmate.com. It didn't have my current name or correct middle initial, and it bombarded me with sales tactics to get me to pay for more information. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a private detective or have a lot of money to waste.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: A Total Waste of Time and Money - Avoid at All Costs

So, I decided to give InstantCheckmate a try with their $1.00 'trial' offer. But let me tell you, it was a total waste of my time and money. They didn't provide me with anything useful, but they promised me that for only $19.95, I could have access to 'more' information. I wasn't interested, so I called to cancel my account.

I spoke with a woman named Melissa, and she gave me a ten-minute runaround. She couldn't find my account, she needed my credit card number again, and she even put me on hold. Finally, she promised to cancel my account and said I would receive an email confirmation 'within 24 hours'. But surprise, surprise, the email never arrived.

I called back and spoke with another woman named Marilyn. She looked around, asked for all recorded information, and then put me on hold. When she came back, she confirmed that my account had been 'closed' and provided me with a 'transaction number'. She reminded me that my 'account' was still active through midnight tonight. I thanked her, reaffirmed that we would be doing no more business together, and hung up.

But then, five minutes later, my phone rang again. It was Marilyn, asking me to call her back and 'review' my credit card number 'for their records'. I picked up the phone, and she suddenly 'apologized' for calling, 'Sorry, misdialed, sorry to bother you'. She hung up abruptly, but I knew what she really wanted - my credit card number.

In my opinion, InstantCheckmate is a one-time ripoff at best and credit card fraud at worst. I would advise anyone to avoid them at all costs. Don't waste your time or money on this scam. And to the people at InstantCheckmate, go ahead and sue me if you dare. I stand by my review.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Overpriced and Inaccurate Reports with Hidden Charges

Yo, listen up! I gotta tell you about this site called InstantCheckmate. First off, watch out for all them fake reviews and phony "consumer protection" sites trying to steer you away from the real deal. But let me tell you, the real deal ain't all that great either.

I thought I was gonna get some real juicy info when I signed up, but all they gave me was a choice between paying $34 for one month or $80-something for three months. And get this, even if you choose one of those options, they'll keep charging your account until you call to cancel (which ain't easy, let me tell you). And the report they give you? It's way less info than what you can find for free on the internet. And some of it was even wrong!

But wait, there's more! They'll offer you a more in-depth report for an extra $16 and change, but it's just a bunch of garbage. Unless you think a horoscope or someone's zodiac sign is worth over $50 a month. And get this, they even charge you an extra $2.99 to download the report you already paid for!

If you're not completely disgusted by now, they'll keep throwing more offers and charges at you. And they try to cover their butts with disclaimers saying they don't guarantee accuracy and you shouldn't use their info for anything important. Like, what's the point then?

I'm heading over to PayPal to try and stop them from taking any more of my hard-earned cash. I wouldn't even give them one star, it's way too much.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Don't Fall for Their Trickery and Waste Your Time

This website, InstantCheckmate, is a real doozy. They make it seem like they are compiling a super in-depth report on someone, but it's all just a bunch of hogwash. They waste your time with a bunch of fake progress bars that take forever to load. I mean, I was able to read a whole chapter of my book while waiting for them to finish. It's like they want you to think they are really putting in the work, but they aren't.

And then, after all that waiting, they hit you up for your email address. They haven't even asked for any money yet, but they want your email address. And they ask you all sorts of personal questions, like your age and who you might be related to. It's like they are taking your information instead of giving you any.

I stopped at the email request because I don't want to get spammed by these guys. I mean, who knows who they will sell my email address to. But I bet they try to get you to pay for the report after they get your email address. And even if you say no, they will still send you spam.

I bet a lot of people fall for their trickery and think they are going to get a free report. But they aren't. This company has no morals or ethics. They are just trying to make a quick buck off of people's desperation. I wouldn't give them a penny, let alone my personal information. Anyone who signs up with these guys is just asking to get ripped off.

Instant Checkmate Mixed Results with InstantCheckmate: A Review of the Background Check Service

I was a bit skeptical about InstantCheckmate after reading some negative reviews, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. I wanted to find information about a known criminal, but unfortunately, the search came back with nothing. I also looked up my late ex-husband, but he wasn't in their system either. However, when I looked up some other family members, the information was reasonable on some, lacking on others, and excellent on a few.

One thing I appreciated was their call-back option. I called their 800 number to see how long it would take to get connected to an agent, and I got my return call within about five minutes. I also heard that it was impossible to cancel online, but that wasn't true as of 2017. I was able to cancel easily online when I needed to.

I decided to pay for the premium report on one person, and I felt it was worth the extra $19.99. However, I did notice that they pad the report with a lot of pages about sex offenders currently and previously around the person's addresses. While it's good to know that information, it's not always relevant to what I was looking for. They also include horoscopes, which I found a bit ridiculous.

It was a little tricky to tell what was free and what I had to pay for until I got the hang of it. I was afraid to click on things at first because I didn't want to be charged extra, but I eventually figured it out. They also have an add-on of $3.00 if you want to download your results, which I found odd.

One tip I have is to take advantage of their $1.00 for five days deal with a $30 monthly renewal afterward. When I wasn't getting enough information, I canceled easily online. They offered me a $10 monthly renewal rate, which I thought was a great deal.

Overall, my experience with InstantCheckmate was a mixed bag. While I didn't find the information I was looking for on some people, I did find it on others. Their call-back option was helpful, and canceling was easy. However, they do pad their reports with irrelevant information, and it can be a bit confusing to navigate at first.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Deceptive Practices and Hidden Fees - A Complete Scam

I had to find an old friend's address and thought InstantCheckmate would be a good option since they advertised a low price of $2.99. But boy, was I wrong! I ended up agreeing to pay $19.99 for more information, which turned out to be the same as the "standard" service. And somehow, I got tricked into a "3 month membership" even though I only needed to look up ONE ADDRESS.

When I saw the charge of $83.43 on my Paypal statement, I was shocked and immediately disputed it. But instead of resolving the issue, they completely shut down my account, which I supposedly paid $83 for. I couldn't even go back and check how the additional charges happened. It's like they didn't want me to find out how deceptive their practices were.

So I called customer service, and the representative was so rude and unhelpful. She didn't offer any resolution or apologize for the "misunderstanding." When I asked how I could get my account reinstated, she told me I had to register with a different email address and pay all the fees again! It didn't matter if I cancelled the dispute with Paypal; they were determined to punish me. I couldn't even reinstate my account. I had to create a new one with a different username and pay all the fees AGAIN.

In the end, I did get the ONE ADDRESS I was looking for, but at what cost? Instead of paying $2.99 and $1.99, I ended up with a bill of $126.44! And for what? I got nothing else for the additional charges. It's strange that they sent me a receipt for the other transactions but not for the $83 charge. I wouldn't have even known about it if Paypal hadn't notified me.

Overall, InstantCheckmate is just another company that engages in deceptive practices. They lure you in with a low price, then trick you into paying more for the same service. And when you dispute the charges, they punish you by shutting down your account and making you pay all the fees again. It's a complete scam, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Outdated Information and Shady Business Practices

I decided to give InstantCheckmate a try after reading some reviews online. I paid the $1 for the 5 day trial and searched for myself and some family members. Unfortunately, the information I found was mostly outdated and there were multiple people with the same name combined. The amount of data was very slim and I was disappointed with the results.

I could have easily gathered the same information by doing a simple Google search and looking at some of these types of sites without paying for any reports. It's frustrating that I wasted my time and money on this site.

One of the biggest issues with InstantCheckmate is that if you cancel your trial, you get locked out of your account and there's no confirmation. I was worried that they would still charge me, even though I cancelled my trial within 30 minutes of starting it. To make matters worse, the site is run by thieves (or people who do business like thieves). It's not worth the risk to give them any more of my money.

I was relieved to find out that they accept PayPal, so I used that to pay for my trial. After cancelling my trial and finding out about the site's reputation, I immediately filed a claim with PayPal. I told them that if they send any more of my money to InstantCheckmate in the future, I'll file a claim against PayPal too. I even considered deleting all my bank account info from PayPal just to be safe.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend InstantCheckmate to anyone. The lack of information and the shady business practices make it a waste of time and money. I'm glad that I was able to get my money back and cancel any future payments. It's best to stay away from this site and probably all other background search sites, since they seem to be scam sites too.

Instant Checkmate Captivating and Heartfelt: A Review of The Fault in Our Stars

I initially became aware of InstantCheckmate.com in 2015 through an online pop-up ad and decided to explore the product. I was curious about the information available (which ultimately seemed pretty limited relative to what you can find on your own). I provided my VISA debit card # because they did not accept American Express, my only other card. I just recently learned that my VISA card has been debited $28.85 every month since initially trying their service, for each of the past 50 months, for a total charge approaching $1,500. I'm a senior citizen who watches my expenditures carefully, so this was quite upsetting. I used their product for less than ONE hour on ONE single occasion in 2015. I pursued resolution on this by calling Customer Service. After waiting on hold for a Customer Service Representative, she explained that renewal notice emails are sent out monthly. Yet, I never received a single renewal notice or email to make me aware of the ongoing charges. In following up with another call to another Customer Service Rep (more time waiting on hold), I was told that at the time of my use of their service in 2015 the company was not yet in the practice of issuing renewal notices. Why on earth would they not include all prior users on these renewal emails when they finally decided it was the right thing to do? They had my email address.

If you look at the company's landing page today there is no visible indication that this is a subscription service. The pricing speaks of 1,3, or 6 month memberships. If you know enough to look really hard at other secondary pages on their website there is a single brief, almost hidden mention about automatic renewal. Why not make this evident on your landing page in a more visible manner? Most elderly people are familiar with magazine and newspaper subscription models that send you a renewal notice if you want to continue receiving their products. Those types of reading material do not just "automatically" renew. Judging by similar online reviews that I've recently Googled on this company, their product offering is misleading to many other people as well. Is Instant Checkmate oblivious to these reviews? Why have they never become more transparent?

The final point I'd like to make, which is like rubbing salt into the wound, is that while they've been debiting my VISA card for $28.85 per month, the current 1 month membership is $6.00 less. Even if people wanted to renew their service, they'd want to do so at this cheaper rate, not $6 more per month. Keep in mind that these types of practices are likely being carried out on 100's of thousands of citizens. I pursued resolution of these charges through the Customer Service 800 #. They initially offered me a refund for a measly $115, which they then increased to paltry $173. After speaking to a Customer Service Supervisor they increased the refund to an embarrassing $346 (on almost $1,500 of hidden and what I consider fraudulent charges). I asked Customer Service, is this fair? The Rep replied, "No, however, that is the most that our system will allow me to refund." The "SYSTEM". Yet, their system was perfectly capable of charging me into perpetuity until who knows when, every month at the highest membership price! This is BULL$#*!.

I was then told to write an email to the Customer Service Technical Support group who would contact me. I was led to believe that they would call me and that there was good hope that they could do more for me. I took the time to write them a clear and full description of what had occurred. No one ever called to speak further. I did receive a short email reply saying that they were "unable to do more for me". The Founder/CEO of this company which is based in San Diego should be concerned that people have such strong and vehement views of being unfairly treated and misled. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND IT'S PRODUCTS AND SERVICES! Their business model is a SHAM!

Instant Checkmate Deceptive, Scam, Ripoff

I needed to look up ONE ADDRESS of an old friend. I was sucked in by the "just $2.99" lie. Ok, I think I agreed to pay 19.99 for more information, then found that the "more information" had NOTHING in it that the "standard" service didn't have. Then somehow, I was tricked into a "3 month membership", even though I only needed to look up ONE ADDRESS.

When I saw the $83.43 charge on my Paypal statement, I immediately disputed the charge. What was their response? They completely shut down my account that they say I had paid $83 for, so that I could not even go back and figure out how the additional charges had happened. I guess they didn't want me to figure that out because I would have been able to verify just what a deceptive scam it was.

So I called customer service. She was rude and robotically read from a well-practiced script. She didn't offer ANY of resolution. She did not apologize for the "misunderstanding" or try to help me understand how it might have happen. So I asked what it would do to get my account reinstated. She told me I would have to register, using a different email address, and that I would be charged all of the fees again! And it didn't matter if I cancelled the dispute with Paypal, they were determined to punish me, it wouldn't change anything. I could not reinstate my account. I could only get a new acct under a different username and pay all the fees AGAIN>

BTW, I did receive the ONE ADDRESS I was looking for, but instead of $2.99 amd a $1.99, they tricked me into running up a bill of $126.44! and I got NOTHING else for the additional charges. It's odd that the sent me a receipt for the other transactions but no receipt for the $83. I would not have even known abut the $83 charge if Paypal hadn't notified me. Just another in the long line of deceptive practices they routinely engage in.

Instant Checkmate Garbage

Like some of the other reviewers, I decided to pay the $1 for the 5 day trial. I searched for myself and a few family members - the info was primarily outdated, multiple people with the same name were combined, and the amount of data was very slim. If you do a google search of someone, and look at some of these type of sites without paying for any reports, you could gather all the info you get from paying for IC.

The thing that really sucks, as others have said, is that if you cancel your trial (which you need to to avoid monthly charges) you get locked out of your account, you get no confirmation, and apparently they still charge you (it hasn't been five days for me yet). One of the reasons I tried this site is because they accept paypal, so I used that. After cancelling my trial (30 minutes after starting it), then finding this site, I immediately filed a claim with paypal, and told them if they send any more of my money to IC in the future, I'll file a claim against paypal too. If I didn't have another outstanding paypal order I would have deleted all my bank account info from paypal just to be safe.

I didn't figure I'd be getting a lot from a dollar trial, but I thought it would be interesting to see what type of info would come up. The lack of information was disappointing, but the thing that really angers me is the site is run by thieves (or people who do business like thieves), at least). Don't waste your time with this BS.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update: filing the complaint with paypal worked (hopefully). I got a message from paypal saying that "Instant Checkmate, Inc. canceled your automatic payments" and my one dollar was even refunded. I'll have to wait a few days to make sure they still don't try to charge me a monthly payment. As I said before, please stay away from this site. And probably stay away from all the other background search sites, since they seem to be (from what I've read in reviews) scam sites too.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Disappointing Experience with Lack of Communication and Account Cancellation

I signed up for InstantCheckmate on September 1st, 2015. I was looking for information on about 20 people for my husband's business, as he's a law enforcement officer. I was pretty excited to use this service, as I had heard good things about it. However, my experience was not what I expected.

On September 15th, 2015, my account was cancelled. I was pretty surprised, as I had not cancelled it myself. I didn't receive any notification about why my account was cancelled, so I decided to contact customer service. I spoke to a really nice guy, but it took him a while to understand what I was asking him. I just wanted to know why my account was cancelled, but no one could give me a straight answer. They just kept telling me to use a different email address and payment method if I wanted to open a new account.

I was pretty frustrated at this point. I mean, why would I want to open a new account if I didn't know why my old one was cancelled? It seemed like a waste of time and money. After about 25 minutes of back and forth, I just gave up. I was really disappointed with my experience with InstantCheckmate.

Overall, I would not recommend this service. The lack of communication and explanation for why my account was cancelled was really frustrating. If you're looking for a background check service, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Instant Checkmate Beware of InstantCheckmate: Misleading Information and Unauthorized Charges

I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with InstantCheckmate. I was trying to do some research on someone for a legal case I was involved in, and I thought this website would be a good place to start. They claimed to have over 10 criminal records on the person I was looking into, so I figured it was worth signing up for a month to get the full report.

But boy, was I wrong. After I paid for the report, I found out that the person only had two traffic violations. I was pretty upset about this, because if I had known that beforehand, I wouldn't have wasted my money on the report. I reached out to InstantCheckmate to ask for a refund, since I felt like they had misled me into buying something I didn't need.

To make matters worse, they kept charging my credit card even after I cancelled my account. They told me in writing that I wouldn't be charged anymore, but the same day they sent me that message, they charged me again. And then they did it again the next month! I couldn't believe it. I felt like I was being scammed.

So, if you're thinking about using InstantCheckmate, I would definitely say to be careful. They might not be as trustworthy as they claim to be. I wish I had known that before I wasted my money on their service.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Pros and Cons of Using this Background Check Website

InstantCheckmate is a website that offers a lot of information for free. However, it's important to note that some of the information provided may be outdated, incorrect, or incomplete. If you want to remove your information from their database, you can opt-out, but this doesn't guarantee that your information won't be added back to their list in the future. This means that you may continue to receive notifications from InstantCheckmate or other similar companies.

It's possible that InstantCheckmate started with good intentions, but it's difficult to keep up with the competition and maintain accurate records while also respecting people's privacy. It's important to consider who is working behind the scenes at these types of companies. Are they people who care about accuracy and privacy, or are they just trying to make a profit?

If you're concerned about someone in your life and want to do a background check, it may be better to find the information yourself. There are many resources available online that are completely free. Alternatively, if you're worried about someone in your life, it may be worth considering whether or not you should keep them in your life at all.

Overall, InstantCheckmate may be a useful resource for some people, but it's important to be aware of the limitations and potential drawbacks. It's always a good idea to do your own research and make informed decisions about who you choose to associate with.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Misleading Advertising, Inaccurate Criminal Background Info, and Incomplete Reports

I recently signed up for InstantCheckmate, hoping to gain access to a wealth of information about people I was interested in. The website touted access to 30 different data points, which sounded promising. However, I quickly realized that most of the information available was already available in white pages. The only thing that was truly unique was the criminal background information.

After paying for my report, I was bombarded with numerous options to access deeper information for more money. It felt like a bait and switch, and I was disappointed with the misleading advertising. The criminal background information was also inaccurate, which was frustrating. I had to double-check court case numbers to make sure that the information was correct.

Most of the information in the report was incomplete, which made it difficult to verify whether the match to the search name was true. When I did a self-background check, the report had nine different crimes associated with other people, not me. I don't have a common name, so this was particularly concerning.

Overall, I would not recommend InstantCheckmate. The company claims to cross-check all information, but I found that there was a big difference between cross-checking information with a second database and verifying the accuracy of said information. It's not worth the time or money.

When I tried to cancel my membership, they immediately offered to extend it for a lower price. This felt like a cheap tactic to keep me as a customer, and I was not impressed. The information received in the reports is not worth a monthly bill.

If you're looking for accurate information, you're better off doing a Freedom of Information request to the state or local government. Don't waste your time or money on InstantCheckmate.

Instant Checkmate Fraudulent Website: Incomplete and Inaccurate Info, Hidden Fees, and Billing Scams

This website ain't worth a dime. The info they give is incomplete and ain't even accurate. And don't even get me started on their billing practices. It's straight up fraud. They don't make it clear that if you want a "complete" report, you gotta pay another $20. I thought the charge was just for downloading the PDF, which I didn't even want. And don't even bother typing in a name and city, 'cause half the time you'll get a report on someone else in a different state. I tried to look up my friend's ex-husband, who I knew had been arrested a year and a half ago, and got nothing. Not even recent divorce papers showed up. And don't even think about checking your billing account online. You gotta call 'em up to find out how much they're ripping you off for. That's how I found out they charged me almost $240 extra. I typed in a name and thought it was included in my monthly fee, but when the power went out and I had to reboot, I typed it in again and got a message saying I already "bought" the report. That's when I called the 866 number. I don't understand how the BBB can give these guys a B+ (yes, they do) with all the complaints they got. As a retired senior, it makes me wanna cry that I got scammed like this.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Poor Quality Background Check and Untrustworthy Auto-Renewal Options

I always make sure to be careful when it comes to selecting auto-rebill options for services. I recently came across InstantCheckmate and decided to give it a try. I noticed that there were two options available and I chose the one-time, one-month option. I looked through the site and couldn't find any information about auto-renewal, so I thought I was in the clear. However, a month later, I received a notice from PayPal that my account had been compromised and there was a charge from InstantCheckmate. I was confused and frustrated, so I disputed the charge and went back to the site to find a phone number.

I called the number multiple times, but it took over an hour and a half before I finally got through to someone. The person I spoke to, who I'll refer to as Mr. Idiot, told me that I needed to cancel the auto-renewal on my account and that he would note the account so that when they received the dispute from PayPal, they would authorize a refund. I followed his instructions, but to my dismay, PayPal came back and said that the charge was valid because I had cancelled my subscription on a certain date. I felt like I had been scammed and that InstantCheckmate had pulled a bait and switch on me.

To make matters worse, the background check that I received from InstantCheckmate was terrible. The information that came through was mostly incorrect for myself and my husband. It even connected me to people as family members that I had never been related to! It was a total joke and a waste of my time and money.

Overall, I would not recommend using InstantCheckmate. The auto-renewal issue and the poor quality of the background check make it clear that this company is not trustworthy. Save yourself the hassle and look for a different service.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate.com Review: Inaccurate and Disparaging Information on My Background

I tried out InstantCheckmate.com to see if it could help me find some information about myself and my background. The website claims to be only for informational purposes and not for any legal purposes, which they make clear in their disclaimer. However, I was disappointed with the results I received. The site showed me old criminal information that had already been expunged by the courts, and the information was not accurate and even disparaging.

While the website is not intended for employment purposes or real background checks, I'm sure that many people use it for those purposes. This is concerning because people's lives can be ruined by inaccurate information on this site. I demanded that they remove my information from their site, and they gave me instructions on how to do this. They said it could take up to 48 hours to remove my information, which is interesting because they gather this information in just minutes.

I will be checking back in 2 days to see if my information has been removed. If it hasn't, I will be taking legal action. I don't trust this website for accurate information, and I hope that any legitimate institution doing a background check on me will take them for what they are - a source of bad information.

If you're just trying to find a friend, there are other ways to do it than using these trash people search and information collecting sites that only invade your privacy. It's important to protect your privacy in this day and age, and sites like InstantCheckmate.com do not help with that.

Instant Checkmate Beware of InstantCheckmate: A Review of the Online Background Check Service

InstantCheckmate, the online background check service, has been receiving a lot of negative reviews lately. Many people have reported scams and fraudulent activities that they have experienced while using this service. Here are some of the most commonly reported issues:

Firstly, unauthorized credit card charges have been reported by many users. Some have claimed that they were charged for services they did not sign up for, while others have reported being charged multiple times for the same service.

Secondly, InstantCheckmate has been accused of refusing to cancel subscriptions or delaying the cancellation process. This has caused frustration and inconvenience for many users who have been trying to cancel their subscriptions.

Thirdly, some users have discovered that the data provided by InstantCheckmate is inaccurate or made up. This has led to doubts about the reliability of the service and has caused many users to question the legitimacy of the company.

Fourthly, InstantCheckmate has been accused of using personal data to create a database, as they do not have one of their own. This has raised concerns about privacy and data protection.

Fifthly, some users have reported being extorted by InstantCheckmate. They claim that the company demanded a fee in exchange for not using their personal data.

Sixthly, even after paying the extortion fee, some users have reported that InstantCheckmate continued to use their personal data.

Seventhly, InstantCheckmate is no longer authorized to transact business, as recorded by the Nevada Secretary of State. This has raised questions about the legality of the company's operations.

Lastly, the San Diego address provided by InstantCheckmate is just a mail drop. The company is actually operated out of Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada. This has led some users to speculate that the company may have ties to organized crime.

Despite these negative reviews, InstantCheckmate is still active and operating. The company's managers, Kris Kibak and Joey Rocco, are listed as active on the Nevada Secretary of State's website. However, the last legal information available is from 2013, and since then, the company has been "converted out". This has led some users to question the legitimacy of the company's operations.

In conclusion, if you are considering using InstantCheckmate, it is important to be aware of the potential risks and issues associated with the service. While some users have reported positive experiences, many others have reported scams, fraudulent activities, and inaccurate data. It is up to you to decide whether or not the service is worth the risk.

Instant Checkmate Misleading Subscription Rates and Irrelevant Information: My Experience with Instantcheckmate.com

I stumbled upon Instantcheckmate.com on October 16, 2015, and was curious to see what information they had on me. The website presented the data in a way that made it seem like I had an arrest record, which was not the case, and the information was irrelevant to me. As a retired law enforcement officer, I was also interested to see if my career would be documented, but unfortunately, it was not.

I decided to sign up for a one-month trial subscription, which was advertised as $10.91. However, on October 17th, I received an invoice email stating that I owed $45.82. I was unable to return to the website and was told by Megan, an operator at their phone number, that I had selected the subscription rate and the error was on my end. I was not happy with this response and will be reporting the fraud to my credit card company and the Better Business Bureau.

On Monday, October 19th, I called ***980 at the request of my credit card company. The personnel at that number were very polite and helpful. They authorized a refund, which will take a couple of days to appear on my card statement. While I appreciate their assistance, I still caution others who have been taken in by this organization to contact their credit card company and the BBB.

Overall, my experience with Instantcheckmate.com was disappointing. The website presented irrelevant information and the subscription rate was misleading. While the customer service representatives were helpful in resolving the issue, I still feel that the website's practices are questionable. I would advise others to proceed with caution when using this website.

Instant Checkmate InstantCheckmate Review: Basic Service is a Waste of Money with Terrible Customer Service

I recently tried out InstantCheckmate to help me with a licensing process. I thought it would save me a trip to the courthouse since they have access to public records. I signed up for the trial, but when I searched for myself, I only found two addresses I had in the past 50 years, my age, my husband's name, and a few obscure relatives. I could have found more information by just searching my name on Google.

The next day, I called to cancel my subscription so I wouldn't be charged a ridiculous amount of money for nothing. The woman who answered was very rude and told me that the basic service only provides information that I had already allowed to be available online. I don't put my personal information on the internet besides minimal social media, so I was confused. She kept repeating that I could locate sex offenders in my neighborhood, but I can do that for free with a quick online search.

I told her that it seemed like the company was misadvertising with a disclaimer that protects them from anything and everything. She didn't seem to care and just kept pushing me to upgrade to their premium service if I wanted more information. It was a complete rip-off and the company was not customer-friendly at all.

Overall, I would not recommend InstantCheckmate to anyone. The basic service is a waste of money and the customer service is terrible. Save yourself the trouble and just do your own research online for free.

Instant Checkmate Service, wrong information, closed my account under false causes

I signed up for Instant Checkmate to look at my account. The information is so wrong. I've been crying and very upset. I am considering legal action. It states that I have "Welfare Fraud, Assault, Speeding Tickets. This isn't true. I was proudly serving my country In The Army overseas. and I have nothing against "welfare recipients." I'm a Retired Psychiatrist; I would never take advantage of the system. They even placed several speeding tickets on my account when I was in Alaska helping out with FEMA MEDICAL COVID SUPPORT for 2.5 years. When I sent in information about the inaccurate information, they said they closed my account for "violating rules.

SHAME ON YOU; FIX THIS ASAP! I'm very hurt and disappointed.

Desired outcome: I WANT THIS REMOVED. I AM A DECENT UPSTANDING AFRICAN AMERICAN RETIRED MILITARY DR! I don't think this is a joke! Please don't make me seek Counsel clear my name ASAP!

Instant Checkmate False information about me

I have seen my profile and it claims strongly that I am on a watch list and that I have several criminal/tickets on my report which is untrue. Have a couple but not to the extreme they are making it appear. It is slander to falsely represent a persons criminal background so publicly. There is no reason a person should be able to put information about you that is untrue. Legal actions will need to be taken if you cannot fix your mistakes.

Desired outcome: I want you to get your information from facts not fiction. Please change the incorrect information you have put on my report.

Instant Checkmate false information about myself advertised online by instant check mate

I went through the process out of curiosity using my own name, the information that was revealed was more than false, it even said I was married and a cheater by someone I have never even heard of before, if my name is not removed with this false information I will pursue legal action of defamation of character, I have never been in jail nor committed a crime however instant check mate revealed I have 7 criminal history records. If you want to illuminate a lawsuit I suggest you remove my name from your system as it is all false, it even said I was a cheating husband from someone I have no idea of there identity. This is absolutely horrible that you provide false information about people and not quite sure how you get away with it.

Instant Checkmate false and inaccurate information

I have recently lost a job. I couldn't figure it out until I googled my name.

I found 14 criminal records; 2 of which are in L.A. I haven't been to LA in years. 12 in Orange County, wow, ... I don't think so.

This is an extremely damaging web site with inaccurate data. They also had me listed at age 59 and also at 75 years of age.

Other family members have found the same issue.

Also, there is another person out there with the same name? What is that?

They did the same thing to me and I agree this is a very dangerous website. In my case my current boyfriends ex-wife is using this false information about me to get her kids to think I am dangerous and with them being so young they do not understand that everything on the internet is not factual so this website is causing major issues in my life and she is also taking this information to my job trying to get me fired.

That is $116.36 in 4 days on 4 searches, thats a bunch if crap! Your site does not say what it really charges people false advertising and misleading. Stealing from peoples accounts.
