Intxalock over charged $500 in two months.
I have not only been credited for install rebate but i have been consistantly over charged $500 in two and a half months. I am suppose to be on the reduced fee as per court specified and it was not being implemented from start nor is it followed now. Ive only had the device two and a half months and it has been a hastle. Staff isn't knowledgeable and the extensive hidden fees highly not recomended.

On March 9th myself and my wife went to a local meat market. We had no distractions in the car when we exited the vehicle. When we returned to the car the intoxilock device displayed a ' violation message # 9. At no time were we warned that we were in violation. The device did not make any warning sounds that a retest was needed. I disputed the charge with Paula, Brown, Gazelle, Jerry, Kevin, and Ryan. On March Gazelle suggested that I place the device in a metal coffee can do that I could better hear any warning beeps. On March 23rd a spoke to supervisor Ryan who informed me that my dispute was denied. I told him that the device was deceptive and that I should not have been charged the 79.00 from intoxilock and the 50.00 to reset from J and M auto. I told him that I disagreed with his decision and that I would be writing this complaint. His response was " We get millions of complaints every day"
Don’t use this company
Don’t use this company unless you want to be wrongfully charged. The device will drain your battery on very cold days/nights. It was -20 degrees out and went to start my car and obviously the battery was drained. When I jump started it, it was put into a service lockout mode. When we called we were told that they were unable to remotely reset it due to an electrical error and that we had to bring it to the service shop. When we got the bill the next month they had charged us $80.75 for the lockout. When we called, the first customer care representative said we would be refunded. When we didn’t receive the refund we called again and were told that our refund was denied by a supervisor. So we called again and asked to speak to a supervisor and we’re told No. This is completely unacceptable. What company tells you first off your gonna get a refund then changes their mind and denies you to speak to a supervisor. DON’T USE THIS COMPANY WHAT EVER YOU DO! They will steal your money. It’s bad enough our car didn’t start and we had to bring it to the service shop but to be wrongfully charged $80 when we did nothing wrong is flat out disgusting.
Desired outcome: We would like to be refunded the $80.75 we were wrongfully charged.
Intoxalock ignition device
Worst company period! I wish zero stars were an option. Please go with anyone else for your device. These people are CRIMINAL! Have gotten multiple lockouts, sometimes 4 in a week. Have complained and had my device looked at and I was told device had faulty wiring and was fixed. Was reimbursed over $700 the first time. However you never get the $30 service fee back from the sevice center. I've paid a couple grand extra just on that alone. Everything is fine until your balance goes to zero. Then the random violations start happening again. Second time I was reimbursed over $500 which wasnt even all that I should have gotten but its so hard to get a hold of anyone in the states to even talk to. Balance gets to zero again and here I am currently on my 4th lock out in a week alone not counting the others since it did. This device is supposed to come out in July and I can only hope that will not be an issue.(sure it will). Stay the furthest away from this company unless you want to pay thousands of dollars more than you should!.
The email address that intoxalock’s customer service gave me does not exist.
I had my Intoxalock IID unit installed in my vehicle on 3/14/2023, After installation Intoxalock is supposed to send an electronic statement to DMV as proof of compliance. After waiting a week, I still had not received notice of my license reinstatement. I called DMV and was told that they had yet to receive the electronic transfer.
After calling Intoxalock 3 times and spending over an hour on the phone, I was eventually told that they NEVER sent the electronic copy of my installation. Now, it will take up to 2 days for them to re-submit it, and then DMV takes another week to ten days to process my license reinstatement. I will now miss that amount of time from work, as I am still unable to drive due to Intoxalock’s error. When asked why the e-transfer was never sent, I was told that “mistakes happen”. BIG mistake entrusting Intoxalock to fill a work order. Also, I am being charged by Intoxalock for this extra time in which I still can not drive. I am having serious financial issues by being out of work. Now I am going to miss another 9-12 days of employment.
Desired outcome: I want them to know what happened. I would also expect to be credited 2 weeks worth of unit rental’s costs and lost wages.
They keep saying that I'm not in compliance when not having violations and sent it to the state of TN. I have fully been in compliance and have done the full year plus 4 moths with NO VIOLATIONS! Now randomly I have some violation that doesn't make sense? They say at intoxalock all they con do is add 120 more days to the account which is more money. They machine has destroyed my car. Example the ignition my battery and my alternator within a year. They now say they are going to send a "work order to fix it but still I'm getting another 120 days. I'm going to have to get a lawyer cause this is bull and obviously they get away with it and have been a good while. They customer service is garbage the company doesn't stand behind what they say. Just as a FYI THEY DO NOT NOTATE THE ACCOUNT AS THEY ARE SUPPOST TO!
Removal documents
I Got a IID installed about 5 months ago I only needed 5 months. I got the device installed had it for 5 months, and now I called and asked for removal because I have completed my state requirements. I have the email they sent me for my removal appointment, and got the device removed on the 10th of march I only needed the device till the 5th of march 2023. I have called multiple times to get the document sent out and nothing. I don’t know what to do. I just want my document so I can get the restriction off my license!

Faulty machine
I had nothing but problems they reset my machines atleast 8 times in a year replaced the head unit several times even the point where I had goto Boston and straighten it out once it was the same thing kept happening exactly a year later the machine did the same thing but this time I had it towed to service center and they replaced everything machine wiring computer cause it corrodes in the New england weather there machines are junk when I had a hearing with rmv they called intoxalock and they didn't tell them that everything had been replaced do to failure and the rmv took my license for ten yrs they ruined my life I didn't drink I never would I would have just bipassed there wiring and reconnect the wire they cut in your wiring harness I hope someone finally files a lawsuit against this company some body is gonna kill them because they are destroying life's I had a landscaper company and they took that away and I relapsed to the point where I almosted because of there lies

This company has absolutely no morals and will generate false reasons to fine you ...
They will charge you for any interruption of power to the unit , you need a jump start guess what $75 charge if your vehicle radio stays on after ignition is turned off as with most newer vehicles it will detect a failed test that it never asked for and guess what $75 fine ... If you have issues starting your vehicle due to equipment malfunction and you call for a CSR guess what $ 50 roadside assistance fee ...
Just one month alone I incurred over 300 dollars in fines a low battery was being detected as a failed test they admitted by phone that I was clearly not driving the vehicle nor had I attempted to start it

Intoxalock removal
Karen Schmidt told me to have the intoxalock installed in my car because PENN DOT was going to renew my license. I've paid around $300 for installation and fees so far! PennDOT said I cannot have my License renewed for 2 years! So I am trying to have the machine removed from my car and can't have it done without a workorder from you! I will call my bank and stop having you remove more money from my account. Please have a work order sent to Ellis Auto in Lyndora Pa for Monday 02/06/2023. Also since It was Karen who told me to have it installed, I would like my money back.

I had an Intoxalock device installed in my vehicle 16 June 2022. It was nothing but problems! It constantly read that I was missing "rolling retests," which I I wasn't! The device would demand a reading when I wasn't even in my vehicle. Sometimes I would have a lunch break or 15-break and start my vehicle. When I came back after work it would read that I had 3-violations. I wasn't even driving. Furthermore, I had to have this device calibrated multiple times at the cost of $25 per visit. I called Intoxalock, also multiple times and was met with harsh representatives except for 2 people who said they would help me and never did!
An appointment with a Massachusetts RMV official in September with 'Erin' and my issues with the device proved 'unfruitful'. I tried explaining the problem but she basically called me a liar and I will never forget that as long as I live... I am not a liar! She then proceeded to suspend my license for 1
0 years...along with stressing that "she knew nothing about how 'Intoxalock' worked but telling me that she read my report extensively!" How very interesting?!
When I contacted Pierre Kairouz at Excel Auto, 94 E. Falmouth Hwy, E. Falmouth, MA 02536/508.444.2777 to discuss the problem, he told me that he would contact Intoxalock to discuss the problem and tell you the device was defective and I'm guessing he never did. I have spent an exorbitant amount of money and still, no help. I have lost money at work because I cannot drive and have to resort to restricted bus rides and using Lyft and Uber so I can retain employment which has seriously hurt me, financially!
My fiance was so very upset by the way I was being treated by Intoxalock that he removed the device from the vehicle, himself. I was horrified to hear when he told me that the wiring harness was cut to install the device and was propped up by toilet paper rolls and some cardboard. This could have caused a major fire in my vehicle and resulting in serious harm or death to myself. What gives?
I want a refund
I cant log in to my account to view my billing information. They say the website is down and it could take a week to fix?! I need access to my account sooner than that I'm afraid! Booooooo! I have also paid for service fees at the service center and towing fees in which I should have never paid because of their malfunctioning equipment. I'm being ripped off and I'm getting highly upset because I have lost tons of money with this [censored]ty company.

Thieves/liars!
The summary of the issue: Roughly 2 months ago. The Intoxalock device began to malfunction. I had to have my vehicle towed 3 times. It's in policy to fully refund any extra "out of pocket" funds. I submitted 3 tow receipts for $90;$100;$120. Plus 2 receipts for $200/ea; for mobile services to (repair) the device. The total is $710. I was only refunded $433.99. Which leaves a balance of $276.01. Which positive balance doesn't reflect on my current account. A new device was sent out yet, never installed by moblie service; paid for. I've spoken with 5 different supervisors, Trina, Lynette, Terrell, Kelsy, and Shaun. Told by all of them basically the same thing. I will not be refunded. Even though I only have 65 days left until completion. Which doesn't equal $276.01 (my remaining balance). It takes over an hour each time to finally reach a supervisor, just to receive the same negative answer. Very rarely, do you get a question, issue resolved with a phone call. It seems that everyone pushes responsibility to another; that isn't readily available for personal phone conversation. ther seems to be no employee capable or authorized to refund my money, with the push of a button. Same way they receive my on time bi-monthly payment. This company can see the discrepancy in my account, yet still refuses to repay me in full.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate my funds returned to me in full. I. would prefer that they honor the contract that we as a consumer signs. I would also like a formal apology for all the inconvenience accompanying my refund.
Interlock device failure customer service
On 01/17/23 at 3:30 AM I tried to start my truck to go home, I was 2 1/2 hours away. Nothing happened. The screen was Black. I called customer service and after complaining, I was told to call a tow truck, have it towed to my service center and Intoxalock would reimburse me. I have tried and tried to get this resolved with no luck. So DO NOT trust what their agents tell u!

I have been with intoxilock since Jan of this year. Charged 5 times in 1 month, 2 lock outs, but my truck never had to be recalibrated by a mechanic. Finally got a hold of someone, told them there is a serious problem with there system. Not working right, giving false readings, randomly dies or freezes. Mechanic says the handheld is defective. This company is playing with people's lives.
Customer serv
It is nearly impossible to talk to a live person. There are different lines they will transfer you to from the automated menu, but only if you are an attorney, service center or reporting authority. If you are a current or previous customer, they don't let you talk to a person. I had the device removed, paid the $50 for a report documenting the reports that were recorded by it, and I still have not received it. I was tossed around from person to person and assured I would receive the report within 24–48 hours. First, my email was entered wrong. It was corrected after hours on hold and being shuffled from person to person. Several days pass again... No report. Again, I'm passed around from person to person. I'm told they entered other information wrong.
Also, they didn't tell me they are still charging me for roadside assistance. I ended my contract with this company. I don't want to give them another dime! This is a money hungry company that is incredibly hard to do business with. What a manipulative and corrupt system.
Desired outcome: They should refund my $50. They should have a live human that speaks decent English available for customers.
I completely agree with you. We have issues all winter with the machine freezing when our weather has been really cold. I think they thought I was lying because one code read on April 7th, well if you look at the weather from that day, we got cold again and snow. We also got down to 20 degrees last night with snow, but they say its throwing a battery code and that is not a reason to take the 78 dollars off for each time that I tried to start the vehicle during the cold weather and because the machine just keeps saying blow harder and ice actually ends up in the machine from my breath freezing into it and if and when I could blow into it when it warmed up outside, I would go to start the vehicle and the battery was dead. I believe the machine and the camera is draining the battery, but they say the machine won't drain your battery but if you read the webpage, it says that the machine will drain a battery during extreme cold weather but yet they don't see a reason to remove those charges. Those charges are bogus anyways, just because you go to start your vehicle and your battery is dead, they should not be charging for that anyways. How are you supposed to afford what they charge you if your vehicle breaks down, they also charge a maintenance fee every time you service your vehicle. It is abolutely ridiculous and I am also on the financial aid and I was told when I was approved that the ONLY thing I had to pay was 10 dollars a month and now my account is over 300 dollars all because my battery was drained dead during those extremely cold weather days we had.

I have been getting defect devices and loose connection installation i have had 8-9 possibly more lockouts between 12-23-2022 and Now and have confirmed that the device and installation caused lockouts and customer service explained that if the inspection confirms that the device or install was messd up i would receive a refund for all lockouts but they CLEARLY LIED and i have been getting charged more and they refuse to resolve and refund me my money

Device keeps Malfunctioning ive took videos, the intoxilock service center confirm the power keeps going off on it and keeps putting me in violation every week! ive spent over $1000 in a month for Lockouts and recals and the bill Ive had the car inspected by the intoxilock service center and they wont refund me EVEN THOUGH THEY PROMISED MY MONEY BACK IF THE SERVICE CENTER CONFIRMS IF THE PROBLEM WAS THEIR DEVICE! I am a voluntary sign in to protect family from a DUI. The sales team is good. The installer ok. The company and service is very poor. Here is a partial list: They have multiple phone numbers with multiple choices all of which fail to get to real customer service persons. My unit generated a lock out code after a battery low voltage requiring replacement. I called, got through scheduled the service, got the battery installed, and the same problem it started, then faded the rpms slowed and engine died. Zero reading. Several Days. My call finally got through to a rep who spoke very poor English my guess is non Jewish middle eastern. He said (contrary to everyone else my address was wrong. He demanded information which he had already, we went round and round He finally got through and claimed no lock out code and to my surprise the vehicle started and ran enough to drive around the corner. he gave me yet another phone number which was again an new number. I keep these all in my notes. Then even the survey afterwards would not take my rating. The chat also demanded and looped on my name and contract. We may have no other options so this is a total captive market However, they need a total revamp update and customer service overhaul..
Desired outcome: Fix the system, consolidate numbers, get to areas customer service easier, fix the chat, get the internal database correct, and either give more options. like American English, middle east english asian english for choices.
I had it removed at cartoy's of puyallup in december 2022 and i'm still being charged for roadside assistance. Why???
The entire unit was removed in December of 2022 and they are still charging my bank account for roadside assistance. Do they not communicate with one another or just want to scam people out money? Do I need to contact my attorney to have this issue resolved ? I won't have a problem contacting my attorney by February 10th, 2023 if I don't get a response.

Device malfunction and lack of customer service
My name is Matthew East, I recently had to have my device replaced due to malfunction. This was on January 31st 2023. I was supposed to have been credited $100 for the previous lockouts due to malfunction. Not only have I not been credited my $100 now today on Saturday February 4th I have received yet another lockout for missing a retest. I blew into the breathalyzer while there were still time on the retest counter. When I called trying to get help with this I am told to pay 50 or my car will be shut down. There is a complete lack of customer service. There is never a supervisor to be spoken to there's never a call back received. I have emailed my representative over and over and over and over with no response back. This is a complete scam I would suggest to anyone having to have an ignition interlock device to use any other company than this one.
Desired outcome: Credit my account the $150 and be able to speak with a supervisor in charge of disputes.
Interlock device
I have had the Intoxalock interlock device on my vehicle for almost 4 years. I have had some violations; some, my fault but most were because I was letting my car heat up in sub zero temps or when I had to jump start my car and have batteries installed, twice. I was never informed that I would be considered in violation... Intoxalock is a complete racket and I feel very entrapped, as I fulfilled the court order to have the device in place for 365 days. I have been unemployed for the last 3 months and the monthly charge and calibration has been a big financial burden, as well.

They keep charging me $53 every biweekly.

My landlord already kicked me out because of my DUI.
There is nothing else to do but to leave this world.
I don't know what to do.
I tried hospice, but you need to be terminally ill.
When I die, let it be known that this company and the state of NJ are the one's who helped.
