Mixed Experiences with Joseph A. Bank Clothiers
As a potential customer looking into Joseph A. Bank Clothiers, it's important to note the mixed experiences shared by customers. While some have praised the quality of products and online shopping experience, others have expressed dissatisfaction with customer service, order fulfillment, and alterations. It seems that there are issues with consistency in sizing, alterations, and overall service quality. Before making a purchase, it might be wise to consider these varying perspectives and perhaps visit a physical store for a more personalized experience.
They Stand by their merchandise
They accepted a return of an expensive cashmere sweater that I had purchase over a year ago!
It had developed a few small holes in the fabric. I was given a replacement.
Very happy that they stood by their merchandise.

Customer Service 20/10
The employees at the Jos. A Bank in Brookfield, WI helped me out in an absolute pinch. Needed a tux that day and they were able to help me out through the process, even were able to match me up with a tailor who was able to hem the pants to my fitting, all within a few hours, on a Sunday. Made the whole process easy with no stress, including the financing. Deserve a tip of the cap!
Excellent Service at North Point store, Alpharetta GA
I was served by Arron and Tafari today at the North Point location, and to say they were above and beyond is an understatement.
While Arron ensured that the suit I had purchased was excellently tailored, and it was, Tafari determined that I could receive a full exchange of three jackets that by many turns of fate had continued being sent from the warehouse in the wrong size. Arron made certain that two of them were replaced by exact matches, and he offered choices for the one that could not be matched in my size. What I ended up with was an even better looking piece than the original.
I've shopped at Jos.A. Bank and Men's Warehouse for many years and cannot remember ever having less than wonderful service, but to say that today the service and courtesy went beyond would be not be enough.
It's this type of experience and the quality of merchandise that keep me a loyal customer. Thank you!
Jos A. Bank Review: Mixed Experience with Salesperson and Pick-Up Process
I never shopped at Jos A. Bank before, so I can't say I'm an expert on their products. But I did have an experience with one of their salespeople when I bought two suits. The salesperson was pretty good, I have to admit. He seemed to be interested in my best interests, so I took a chance and bought two suits, one of which was "free." However, I felt a little pressure when he laid out shirts, ties, socks, and other accessories for me, all of which I never asked for. I made it clear that I was only interested in the suits, but he kept pushing for more. So, if you plan to visit Jos A. Bank, be ready for the "extra" sales pitch for more than you want or need.
The pick-up process for the suits was timely, but when I picked them up, all salespeople disappeared. I've purchased suits from different tailors in the past, but only this once was I left on my own to accept the final product. I had to go to the mirror, check out the fit, make any site-seen evaluations, and not a word from them on the appearance. That shocked me! Typically, a salesperson will dote over you when you've spent nearly $1000.00 to make sure you are satisfied and all alterations came back the right way.
Time will tell how the quality of the material holds out. In the meantime, I will not be back to Jos A. Bank to purchase any clothing in the future. I hope this review helps others to see how important they are to their clientele.
Terrible Service and Product: My Experience with Jos A. Bank
I gotta say, I've been in a lot of weddings in my time (only as a groom so far, mind you), and I gotta say, Jos A. Bank was the worst company I've ever had to deal with. I mean, we thought that since it was a more expensive place, we'd get good service and a good product, but boy were we wrong. It's been a running joke among the group ever since. I paid more than double what I usually pay at other places, and the service was just horrendous. I don't wanna write a whole essay or anything, so I'll just stick to bullet points:
- My appointment was at 12:00pm, but I wasn't even acknowledged until 12:20pm, and I wasn't helped until 12:40pm. Like, what's the point of even making an appointment if they're not gonna stick to it?
- The whole experience felt rushed, and I didn't feel comfortable enough to slow down the worker and make sure everything was done right.
- I didn't feel like I was treated with respect or manners like I usually am at other places.
- The tailor said something really weird to me like, "I know kids like you like the pants tapered at the bottom." Like, excuse me? I'm almost 30, and I'm a pretty hairy guy, so that was just weird.
- The salesman didn't even tell us that the shoes were optional, even though the groomsmen wanted it to be made clear. I found out within an hour of making the purchase and called to cancel the shoes from being shipped, but they refused, even though their website says they don't ship until 3 days after purchase.
- And to top it all off, the total amount came out to be $606.15. Like, if I'm paying that much, why are they acting like they don't even want me in there?
I mean, I wanna give them more than one star, because maybe it was just an off day or something, but to be honest, I don't even wanna go back and find out.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience at Jos A. Bank's RYE NY Location
I recently purchased a few items from Jos A. Bank's RYE NY location on Purchase St. Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized that the shirts were the wrong size. I quickly called the store a few minutes before they closed and explained my situation. I mentioned that I had an important meeting in the morning and was traveling, so I couldn't make it back at 10am the next day due to my busy schedule. However, the salesperson I spoke to said that they couldn't help me because they were closing soon. I asked to speak to the Manager, hoping for a more empathetic response.
When Luis, the manager, came to the phone, I explained my situation again and asked if there was any way they could help me with an exchange. Unfortunately, he also said that they couldn't help me and that I would have to come back the next day. I was disappointed with their lack of empathy towards my needs as a customer, especially since I had just made a purchase from their store.
In frustration, I told Luis that I would come back the next day only to return the items I purchased due to their lack of customer service. However, his response was completely unexpected and unprofessional. He accused me of threatening him and said, "ya see now sir... THAT'S A THREAT! You ARE THREATENING ME." I was shocked and appalled by his response. I couldn't believe that a manager would speak to a customer in such a rude and disrespectful manner.
I expected better from Jos A. Bank, especially since RYE is known for being a nice neighborhood. Unfortunately, these two employees were not the type of people I would expect to work at a store like Jos A. Bank. Their behavior was unacceptable, and I was disappointed that they didn't seem to value me as a customer.
Furthermore, I noticed that both employees had visible tattoos on their hands, which I found to be unwelcoming. I wondered what kind of onboarding procedures Jos A. Bank had in place for their employees. It seemed like they could benefit from some training on customer service and professionalism.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Jos A. Bank's RYE NY location. As a customer, I believe that I am the most valuable asset, and I feel that they failed miserably to help me with a situation that could have been easily resolved with a more sophisticated salesperson. As a result, I will never do business at any Jos A. Bank location again.
Jos A. Bank: Terrible Order Experience, But Impressive Customer Service
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with Jos A. Bank. I spent a good two hours on the phone with them, picking out a suit, shirt, and tie for my husband who was going to be the father of the groom. I was really excited about it, but then a few days later, I still hadn't received a tracking number, so I called to check on the status. And what do you know, they canceled the order! And they didn't even bother to send me an email about it. I was so mad.
Apparently, they canceled the order because our credit card billing address is a PO box. Like, what? That's never been a problem before. And now we're two days away from the alterations appointment, and we don't even have a suit. The wedding is in just over a week, and we're in a rural area, so we can't just run to the local mall to buy a nice suit.
But I gotta give them credit where credit is due. They spent a good six hours on the phone with me today, trying to straighten everything out. They explained that it was a computer glitch that caused the cancellation, and they searched to find a suit that was as close to the original as possible, since it was too late for shipping. They even gave us a gift card for the difference in price between the original suit and the replacement.
I was still pretty upset, but they were so calm, patient, and helpful. They really turned the situation around and made it the best customer service experience I've ever had. So while I wouldn't recommend buying from them, I gotta say, their customer service is top-notch.
Jos A Bank Clothing's Website Update is a Disaster: My Disappointing Experience
I used to be a big fan of Jos A Bank Clothing, but after a recent experience, I don't think I'll be shopping there again. I've spent thousands of dollars at this store over the years, but that loyalty means nothing to them. Apparently, they recently updated their website, and it was a disaster. While I was shopping, they lost the contents of my shopping cart, which had over 30 items totaling more than $1500. To make matters worse, they also deleted my wishlist, which I had been compiling for months. I was devastated.
But that's not all. They also managed to lose my purchase/order history and delete my saved credit card information. I mean, where did that go? It's like they don't care about their customers at all. And if you're not familiar with Jos Bank, their sales change almost daily. I had been waiting for the perfect storm of clearance plus an extra 50% off, with my other items on special. But because they deleted my cart, I missed the sale completely. I was so disappointed.
When I reached out to customer service, I got a grudging "we're sorry... but items in your cart must be purchased at the time of the sale to receive the discounts". Well, no kidding. But they deleted my cart within an hour of the end of the sale, preventing me from making the purchase. I emailed them twice and never heard back. I also had two live chats with customer service reps, but they were no help at all.
To be fair, they did offer me a $25 discount on my $1500 purchase, but that's hardly anything. I mean, I missed the sale because of their incompetent IT crew, and they're only offering me $25? No thanks.
It's been five business days since my first email to JosBanks, and I still haven't heard back from them. It's clear that they don't care about their customers or their reputation. I'm extremely disappointed and won't be shopping there again.
Disappointing Experience with Joseph A. Bank's Customer Service - Gift Card Order Canceled Multiple Times
I've been shopping at Joseph A. Bank for over 25 years now and I must say, I've had a pretty good experience with them. However, my recent encounter with them has left me feeling quite disappointed.
I received a gift certificate worth $250 and decided to use it to purchase some summer clearance shirts. The deal was even better if I bought three shirts, so I went ahead and placed the order using my gift card. The next day, I received an email saying that my order had been canceled without any explanation.
I tried calling their customer service line but was put on hold for 35 minutes without anyone picking up. I had to hang up as I had other commitments to attend to. Later, I decided to try their chat line and spoke to Jordan. He told me that there was a "discrepancy with the information on my credit card". I was confused as I had paid with a gift card and not a credit card. Jordan was of no help and I was left feeling frustrated.
I then tried their text line and spent another 30 minutes going back and forth without getting my order processed. I made another call and spoke to Nicole who was also unable to assist me. She assured me that someone would call me to rectify the issue but it's been two days and I haven't heard from anyone.
I received an email asking me to resubmit the order, which I did. However, it was canceled again without any explanation. They then advised me to delete the credit card on file and place the order again. I did that but the order was canceled yet again.
I am extremely disappointed with Joseph A. Bank's customer service. I was trying to give them business but their ineptitude is startling. I have advised the person who gave me the gift card to request their money back. I am done with Joseph A. Bank and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
It's no wonder they recently filed for bankruptcy. If this is how they treat their customers, I can only imagine what would happen if there was a problem with an order that actually got placed.
Joseph A Banks Review: Disorganized Alterations and Frustrating Experience with Sizing for Wedding Suits
I had the pleasure of dealing with Joseph A Banks for my wedding in July 2019. We decided to purchase six suits instead of renting them for myself and my five groomsmen. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable in selecting the right suit and sizing them accordingly. We paid for our suits and were told that some would come to the store and some would be delivered to our houses.
I received my suit first, but unfortunately, the tie was wrong. I called Ron, and he told me to bring it in to switch it out, which I did. My brother was told that his suit was ready on the 4th of July, but when he went in, the shirt was not the right one. No alterations had been made, even though he had already been sized for them. The staff couldn't find the paperwork to get the right shirt, and he had to be remeasured. A week later, they called him to come back, but this time they forgot to hem his pants. A few days later, he went back in, and the sleeves on the suit were the wrong length, and he had to come back again.
The next groomsmen was told that his suit was ready, but it didn't fit. He came back the next week, and it still didn't fit. The jacket was too tight, and he could barely move in it. On the third attempt, it finally fit. Another groomsmen had a similar problem. He was told that his suit was done, but when he went to pick it up, no alterations had been made. They remeasured him and told him they would rush it. He went back in, and the pants weren't altered. He had to come back another day, and this time they were hemmed wrong. Finally, his suit turned out to be right.
I must add that some of these guys paid as much as $80 extra to have alterations made, which we found to be ridiculous. We made multiple trips back and forth to finally get the right sizing.
Despite the disorganization, I do like the quality of the suits and the products they offer. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, but they seem to be very disorganized at times. I called Ron when it was getting close to our wedding date and asked for assurance that two of the suits would be done. He never really accepted responsibility for any of the faults and insisted that nothing was wrong.
In conclusion, I would strongly recommend purchasing a suit from another store or just renting one and saving yourself a very large headache like this again.
Jos A. Bank Review: Good Quality Clothes at Decent Prices, but Annoying Selling Methods
I gotta say, I'm a big fan of Jos A. Bank. I've spent a pretty penny on their clothes - I'm talking 15+ suits and 50+ shirts in just a few years. I know, I know, it's a problem. But I just can't help myself!
The thing is, Jos A. Bank is a great place to go for men's clothing. They've got mostly high quality stuff at decent prices. They bill themselves as selling super-high quality upscale clothing, but I gotta say, the suits and shirts are good, but not quite as high-end as they'd like you to believe.
If you're in the market for a suit, I'd recommend sticking with the "Signature" or better line. I've had some bad experiences with the "Executive" suits - the quality just isn't there. But the Signature suits are usually pretty good.
Now, let's talk about their non-iron/wrinkle-free shirts. They call them the "Traveler's" line. They're okay when it comes to non-iron performance, but I've seen similar performance from cheaper brands like JC Penney's Stafford. If you want the absolute best non-iron shirts, go for Charles Tyrwhitt or Lord and Taylor's Black Brown brand.
Here's the thing that bugs me about Jos A. Bank, though - their advertising and selling methods are ridiculous. They'll list the price of a Signature suit at $795, but I've never paid more than $145 for one. They're always running some kind of promotion - buy X get Y free, get X% off, buy a suit and get 16 ties, 12 belts, 4 shoes, and a haircut & shave for free. It's like, just tell me the price, man!
As they run through a promotion, the price will decrease until it reaches the low end of the range for that product. For Signature suits, that seems to be around $143, and for Executive suits it's around $118. It's just annoying that they make you do all these calculations to figure out the price you're actually paying.
All that said, I keep going back to Jos A. Bank because the clothes are good quality and well worth the price. I just wait until the suits go on sale for $143 and the non-iron shirts go on clearance for $19.99, and then I stock up.
Unfortunately, my wife recently gave me an ultimatum - either I get rid of some of my shirts or I go. So I've had to take a break from buying for a while. Oh well, c'est la vie.
But seriously, if you're in the market for good quality men's clothing at good prices, check out Jos A. Bank. They're not perfect, but they're definitely worth a look.
Avoid Jos A. Bank in South Park, Charlotte - Terrible Customer Service & Ruined My Wedding
I had a really bad experience with Jos A. Bank in the South Park area of Charlotte. I was looking to get a custom tuxedo made for my wedding and was promised that it would be ready by a certain date. However, when I went to pick it up, it wasn't even made yet. No one communicated with me throughout the entire process, and the customer service was terrible. They ended up FedExing me a completely different tuxedo to the location of my wedding, which was not what I wanted. I ended up having to get married in a rented tuxedo that didn't fit me properly. I was very stressed out and felt like my big day didn't matter to them at all. They only gave me $50 off my custom tuxedo, which I received weeks after my wedding. It was useless at that point.
Fast forward 18 months, and I decided to give them another chance for my oldest son's prom. We picked out everything with an older black guy who wears glasses and sounds like he is from the UK. He wasn't very helpful, and his customer service skills were poor. He wanted to put my son in a big, wide-leg suit that was ugly. I showed him a picture of my son in a tuxedo from Jos A. Bank from my previous wedding, but he still didn't understand what we wanted. When we came back to pick up the rented tuxedo, it was a big, wide-leg suit that didn't fit my son properly. We ended up having to go to Express to buy a suit that fit him perfectly, but it was three times as expensive. The manager wasn't much help either.
This location is the worst Jos A. Bank's I have ever done business with, and I highly recommend that you stay away from this place. They will ruin any important day of your life, and all you will get is a lousy apology and a few dollars back. The entire staff is out of touch and doesn't know what they're doing. I can't believe they actually earn a living doing this. As someone who works in sales and deals with people daily, I know all about giving an iconic experience, and the Jos A. Bank in South Park provides an experience from hell. Buyer beware!
Poor Customer Service Experience with Joseph A Banks: Order Cancellation and Billing Discrepancy
I've been searching for a specific shade of brown suit for my father for over two years now, and I finally found it on the Joseph A Banks website. I was excited to make the purchase on June 15, 2021, after receiving an email about their Father's Day sale. I entered all of my information correctly, but after clicking the complete purchase link, I didn't receive a confirmation email right away. I waited for an hour, but still no email. I thought they might be busy, so I waited until the next day, but still no email.
I tried reaching out to the company through text, but it was very informal and took a long time to work through the issues. The initial agent couldn't figure out why my order had been canceled, and all they could say was that there was a billing discrepancy. I called my bank while in text mode with the merchant to see if there were any errors on either end, but they replied no. The conversation ended with both parties, but I wasn't satisfied. I sent a text back to the merchant, and a new agent started the process of the conversation all over again. They couldn't find the issue, so I asked for a telephone number. After waiting 25 minutes, I finally got a live person on the phone.
The individual said that the only thing they could see that might be wrong with the information is that I did not capitalize one letter in my billing address. They offered to retake the order, and they stayed on the phone with me while I placed the order reluctantly. At this point, the bank had already transferred funds to Joseph A Banks, and I was now waiting for those funds to be returned to my account. The merchant said they had not received the funds and that they would be returned to my account within 3 to 5 business days after the date of cancellation. I have been familiar with my bank, and if the funds have not been retrieved within 24 hours, the bank releases the funds back to my account. Today is June 17, and I am now waiting for both sets of funds, almost $500, to be returned to my account because the second order I placed over the phone with a live agent has also been canceled within the same day it was placed.
I am not understanding what the issue is. Today, as I talked with one of the merchant's staff, I was told that I could go into the store and make the purchase there, and they would ship the item to me overnight. I asked yesterday if the item could be shipped overnight, and they told me that they offer rushed shipping, which is featured on their website, but it would not be an overnight deal. A couple of days at the least, and they couldn't guarantee that I would receive it on Saturday, June 19. I believe today I was talking to a different agent, but why doesn't everybody know the same information? I still went ahead and placed that second order, but had they told me that instead of placing the second order over the phone, I could go into the store and place the order and have the item shipped overnight, I would have immediately gotten up and done so.
I am deeply dissatisfied with the way this matter was handled. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with them, and it really sunk in deep. I will not be making any more purchases online ever again with this merchant. Most of the items I've ever wanted, they never had in the store, which is why I purchased online. Now I am even more skeptical about going inside the store should they not have the item on hand to purchase it. What has happened to communication skills, what has happened to work ethics? When I was working, we were trained to go the extra mile, and even if we could not resolve the problem, we could at least note red flags and bring it to the attention of our supervisor.
I cannot fault anyone for a technical error, yet this matter warranted a phone call. It was the second time in two days that this had happened to the same individual. Someone should have taken notice and said, "We need to call this individual. She's trying to make a purchase, and maybe if we can resolve this issue quickly, we can continue to process the transaction smoothly so that she will get her order in time." Instead, they just sit there as if they are saying, "Oh well, they'll call back, or either they'll go somewhere else." That may work fine with your mental intellect until you're out of a job. You say you want the business, why don't you do the work? And if you don't want to do the work properly, which sometimes means going the extra mile, why are you working there?
I've already given my dad one item for Father's Day that I needed to get to him before that day. He was unaware of the other things that are coming, but this will not ruin his day. However, I have been deeply dissatisfied with the way this matter was handled.
Jos. A. Bank Clothiers Complaints 22
Very poor communication skills!
I've been looking for a certain hue of a brown suit for my father about 2 1/2 years and recently found the right color on the Joseph A Banks website. On Tuesday, June 15,2021, I made a purchase after receiving an email concerning the Father's Day sale, all of my information was input correctly yet I noticed that once I clicked the complete purchase link, I did not immediately receive a confirmation email and thinking that they may be busy I waited an hour, no email therefore I waited till the next day no email. I began reaching out the company, the way was by text is what I initially noticed, I was linked to an agent which is very informal and it takes a long time to work through issues before you actually begin in conversation and after you have actually began as you may leave out something or not enough information may be relayed to fully solve your problem. The initial agent could not figure out why my order had been canceled all they could say was that there was a billing discrepancy. I call the bank while in text mode with the merchant to find out if there were any errors on there or my end, they replied no, Conversation ends with both parties yet I wasn't satisfied and sent a text back to the merchant, new agent yes, started the process of the conversation all over again and they could not find what the issue was therefore I asked for a telephone number and after waiting 25 minutes I finally got a live person on the phone. The individual said to me that the only thing they could see that might be wrong with the information is that I did not capitalize one letter in my billing address and offered to retake the order, therefore they stayed on the phone with me and I placed the order reluctantly once again because at this point the bank had already transferred funds to Joseph A Banks and I am now waiting for those funds to be returned to my account, mind you the merchant is saying they have not received the funds (how they know that in their particular area I do not know) and that the funds would be returned to my account within 3 to 5 business days after the date of cancellation (they had no problem canceling the order immediately, why can't they release my funds immediately) as I have been familiar with my bank if the funds have not been retrieved within 24 hours the bank releases the funds back to my account? Today is June 17 and I am now waiting for both sets of funds almost $500 to be returned to my account because the second order in which I placed over the phone with a live agent has also been canceled within the same day it was placed and now I'm being told it's because my billing address is tied to my PO Box something that has been in place more than 10 years, mind you I have purchased from this merchant several times, I have purchased my own clothing from other countries and state wide and have never had a problem. I am in and out of town at times, I prefer all my mail going to my PO Box that it is not just sitting unattended. I just had a long talk with my bank before this review I'm currently writing, once again they went over the information and everything is in tact concerning the two purchases in which I am not getting so if I can't find the suit I'd like for my father to have by tomorrow or Saturday morning I'll just have to continue looking. Two purchases canceled in two consecutive days! I am not understanding what the issue is. Today as I talked with one of the merchants staff I was told that I could go into the store and make the purchase there and they would ship the item to me overnight, well I asked on yesterday since it was getting so close to the weekend if the item could be shipped over night and they told me that they offer rushed shipping which is featured on their website but it would not be an overnight deal, a couple of days at the least and they couldn't guarantee at this point that I would receive it Saturday, June 19, I believe today I was talking to a different agent but why doesn't everybody know the same information? I still went ahead and placed that second order but had they told me, if it was true that instead of placing the second order over the phone that I could go into the store and place the order and have the item shipped overnight I would have immediately gotten up and done so. I only learned about this today and I am not sure if it is so also the agent told me that they do not recommend this way of making a purchase because it may be an inconvenience to the individual to go to the store, well that's my decision to make at least offer it to me, for those who may not believe this review is real, every text message that I received within the conversation I saved to refer back to. What has happened to communication skills, what has happened to work ethics, when I was working, we were trained to go the extra mile and even if we could not resolve the problem we could at least note red flags and bring it to the attention to our supervisor. I said to the agent, I cannot fault anyone for a technical error yet this matter warranted a phone call, it was the second time in two days that this had happened to the same individul, someone should have taken notice and said we need to call this individual, she's trying to make a purchase and maybe if we can resolve this issue quickly we can continue to process the transaction smoothly that she will get her order in time but instead they just sit there as if they are saying oh well they'll call back or either they'll go somewhere else, that may work fine with your mental intellect until you're out of a job. Beware of Jos A. Bank Traveler Jeans: Shallow Pockets Led to Wallet Loss!
I recently purchased a pair of Jos A. Bank Traveler jeans and I must say, they fit better than most jeans I've tried on. However, I did notice that the rear pockets are only 6 inches deep, whereas other brands have pockets that are 7 inches deep. At first, I didn't think much of it, but boy was I wrong!
One day, while leaving a Marriott in Charlotte, my wallet literally leaped out of my pocket on any opportunity. I didn't even realize it until I got to my car. I was in a panic, thinking about all the important cards and documents that were in there. Fortunately, an honest housekeeper found it and turned it in. I had to take a 170 mile detour to retrieve it, but I was just glad to have it back.
The very next day, I lost it again at an Onroute in Ontario. This time, I realized it almost immediately and was in a state of panic once again. Have you ever lost your wallet in a foreign country? It's not a pleasant experience, let me tell you. But, once again, an honest Canadian tracked me down and returned it to me.
All this panic and stress for an inch of fabric?! I mean, c'mon! I can't believe that Jos A. Bank would make such a mistake. I'm extremely disappointed in their products and will not be purchasing from them again. In fact, I threw those jeans in the dumpster as soon as I got home.
Overall, I would not recommend Jos A. Bank products to anyone. The fit may be good, but the quality is lacking. Don't make the same mistake I did and risk losing your wallet over an inch of fabric.
Disappointing Experience with Jos A. Bank's Online Store: Lack of Communication and Bait-and-Switch Tactics
I recently had an experience with Jos A. Bank's online store, and it was not a positive one. I placed an order for a pair of shoes for my husband on September 14th, and as of October 18th, I still had not received them. When I tried to log into my account on their website to check the status of my order, I kept getting an error message saying that my password was incorrect. I tried using the "forgot password" feature, but I never received an email with instructions on how to reset it.
Feeling frustrated, I decided to call Jos A. Bank's customer service line to see if they could help me figure out what was going on with my order. To my surprise, they informed me that my order had actually been cancelled because the shoes I had ordered were not available. I was shocked that I had not received any notification about this, and I expressed my frustration to the customer service representative.
To their credit, the representative did offer me a coupon for $25 off my next purchase of $100 or more as a way of apologizing for the inconvenience. However, I couldn't help but feel like this was a bit of a bait-and-switch tactic. I had placed an order for a specific item, and not only did they not have it in stock, but they also failed to notify me about the cancellation until I reached out to them. And now, in order to use the coupon they offered me, I would have to spend even more money with them.
Overall, I was disappointed with my experience with Jos A. Bank's online store. While I appreciate the gesture of the coupon, I would have much preferred to receive better communication about the status of my order and a more straightforward resolution to the issue. I'm not sure if I will be shopping with them again in the future.

Frustrating Experience with Josbank.com: Slow Customer Service and Order Cancellation
I had a pretty frustrating experience with josbank.com. I spent a good two hours trying to place an order, but the website was giving me some trouble. There were a couple of software issues that prevented me from using PayPal to complete my purchase. I decided to reach out to customer service via chat, but the responses were painfully slow. I found myself waiting for up to two minutes just to get a simple answer. Eventually, the chat representative suggested that I call the company instead.
I took their advice and called the customer service line. Unfortunately, I had to wait on hold for about half an hour before I was able to speak with a representative. When I finally got through, I had to give them my credit card information over the phone, which took another half hour. After all that, I received a confirmation email and a text from my credit card company letting me know that my card had been charged.
But then, to my surprise, I received an email saying that my order had been cancelled. The email claimed that my card had not been charged, even though I had received a text saying that it had.
Overall, this was a pretty terrible shopping experience. I would definitely recommend avoiding this company altogether. It's just not worth the hassle.
Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Jos A. Bank
I recently made a purchase on Jos A. Bank's website for a total of $1,300.00. I was excited to receive my order, but when it arrived, I noticed that the same shoes I had purchased were $20.00 cheaper at Macy's. I decided to give JAB a call to see if they would refund me the difference. Unfortunately, they told me that they don't offer price matching and the only thing they could do was provide me with a $25.00 coupon for a future order. I was disappointed that they wouldn't honor the price difference, but I decided to keep my order anyway.
This was my first time shopping with JAB and I have to say, I was not impressed with their customer service. It seems like they would rather have their customers return their purchases and buy from a competitor instead of honoring a price difference. It's a shame because their clothing seems to be of good quality.
One thing I learned from my experience is to be careful when returning items to JAB. If you purchased a shirt that was BOGO (buy one, get one), and you make the mistake of returning one of them, you won't get any money back for the other item. This means that you paid full price for the other item, which can be frustrating.
Overall, my experience with JAB was not great. While their clothing seems to be of good quality, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I hope that they can improve in the future and offer better deals and customer service to their customers.
Jos A. Bank Review: Quality Has Gone Downhill, Stick to Clearance Items
Back in the day, I used to be a big fan of Jos A. Bank. Their suits and sport coats were top-notch quality and the prices were just right. But lately, things have taken a turn for the worse.
I recently purchased a suit for a mere $79, along with some shirts and ties. I didn't have any major issues with my order, but I did notice that the quality just wasn't what it used to be. It's a shame, really.
If you're looking for a good deal, I'd recommend sticking to their clearance items. You can get some really great deals if you're willing to sift through the junk. But be warned, the quality has really gone downhill.
Just last month, I ordered a wool driving cap and a scarf for a total of $10. Shipping was free since I'm a "Bank" member. The cap was supposed to be an XL, but it was actually a small. I couldn't even get it on my head! And to make matters worse, it arrived smashed. I ended up giving it to my nephew who is 10 years old. The return postage would have cost more than the cap itself. As for the scarf, it was made of synthetic junk and was ticketed at $49.95. What a rip-off!
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend ordering anything from Jos A. Bank unless it's ridiculously cheap. I'm talking $69.95 suits, $49 sport coats, and the like. Spending $1,000 on a suit from them is just plain insanity. Save your money and shop elsewhere.
Mixed Experience with Jos A. Bank: Great Staff, But Custom Shirts Didn't Fit Properly
I gotta say, I had a bit of a mixed experience with Jos A. Bank. On one hand, the staff at the Bryn Mawr store were really nice and helpful. They were patient with me as I tried on different clothes and made recommendations based on my preferences. But on the other hand, when it came to getting a custom shirt, things didn't quite go as planned.
Now, I'm not exactly a standard size - I'm only 4'11" and weigh 150lbs. So I figured a custom shirt would be the way to go, since I've had trouble finding clothes that fit me properly in the past. But when I got the first shirt back, it was way too large. I'm not sure if it was the measurements or the people in the tailor department, but something went wrong. I went back and got sized up again, and asked for no monogram this time. But when the second shirt came back, it was identical to the first one - still way too large, and still with the monogram. I don't know if they didn't read the new measurements or just weren't capable of doing it, but either way, it was frustrating.
In the end, I decided to just get my money back. I appreciate the effort that the staff put in, but if you're an unusually sized person like me, I wouldn't recommend getting a custom anything from Jos A. Bank.
JoS A Bank in Charlotte: A Complete Disaster for Tuxedo Rentals
This place is just terrible, I mean really terrible. I went to the JoS A Bank in Charlotte and it was a complete disaster. They couldn't even get the sizes right, and the tuxedo I rented came with buttons falling off and a fake vest that was just plain ugly. I was promised a full vest, but instead got some cheap thing with no back. When I complained to the Ukrainian manager (I don't even know her name), she just shrugged and said, "What do you expect? It's a rental." I paid almost $300 for this garbage, and it was a complete waste of money.
To make matters worse, they charged me for accessories that I didn't even need, and when I asked them to remove the charges, they said there was nothing they could do. And when I called the next day to see if they had finished the repairs, they left me on hold for over 30 minutes. When I finally got there, it took them another 20 minutes to find the tuxedo because they had no idea where it was.
I will never rent from JoS A Bank again. The same manager even told me that if I wanted a decent tuxedo, I should just buy one because rentals are never of good quality. She said that rentals are recycled forever, so I shouldn't expect anything better. And when I asked her for help attaching the vest, she just brushed me off and said it was missing parts.
Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. This place is a complete disaster.
Unethical behavior
On March 11, I ordered three items (Order #: 118499907). One of those items happened to be my favorite - Fit Tab collar dress (Item Code: JAB5J5165510).
When the items arrived, the item for the Fit Tab Collar dress was absolutely nothing resembling the shirt I ordered.
Recognizing that mistakes happen, I immediately contacted the Jos A Bank customer support. They apologized and immediately asked me to go to their local store and have them replace it with the correct shirt. I abandoned my work in excitement and drove all the way down there only to be told by the clerk that such item was never advertised only by Jos A Bank despite my repeated reassurance that I ordered the item online. He didn't even bother checking. He pointed me to direction to get something else.
When I got back home, I contacted Jos Ab Bank again to share my interaction with one of their employees. They indicated they have exactly what I ordered and apologized again for the experience.
They offered to send me a free shipping label to return the item so they could replace it with the correct item.
Even though I ended up paying a bit more than the shipping label could cover, I was just happy that I would finally get the shirt I ordered.
A lady by the name of Rachel handled this return and replacement issue.
She was exceptionally professional. She apologized again and told me two things.
1, she would process an e-receipt which would take 24 to 48 hours and after that:
2, my item would ship between 3 to 5 days.
She told me this via email on March 23rd, 2021.
Sure enough, within 48 hours, an e-receipt was issued.
However, til now, 15 days later, I still have not received the shirt.
Worse, till now, I have tried to contact Rachel three times and she is not responding.
I tried chatting with someone online and the guy told me the item is out of stock. Shortly after that, I went online and there were (are still) plenty of fit tab collar shirts available for purchase. In fact, I have one now in my shopping basket just to prove they are not being honest with me for some reason.
I have been a long time customer of Joseph A Bank and have not given them any issues other than just spend my money.
I am interested to see how this is handled now.
Desired outcome: I would like to still have the shirt. Even of the size I ordered is out, there other sizes that work for me.
I placed a online order and error message saying and you still took money
As I said above . I was charged for 84.00 for 4 shirts on sale . I put my paypal information and I got an error message please call customer service . 6 seconds later I get a ping saying they charged my card . So I called customer service . GOOOOOD LUCK ! They do not pick up the phone and a phone recording keeps saying " We apologize for the wait and a style consultant will be with you ASAP " They will never pick up the phone . It has been three days of trying and NOTHING . Crickets ! I sent them an email too and nothing . NO RESPONSE ! NO EMAIL TO CONFIRM ORDER OR SAYING ANYTHING . This has to be the worst experience . You have no problem charging for the item . I am now having to go out of my way to have PAYPAL cancel this transaction and get my money back .
THIS IS THE MESSAGE and still nothing !
At this time we are unable to process your order. To place your order, please contact Customer Service at [protected]@jos-a-bank.com. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
setting up an online account
This company is a joke. I open an account online to take advantage of their Black Friday sales, and it links me to my brothers account. After 60 minutes on the phone, nothing has been resolved and my account, and my brothers are now locked for 1-2 days while they try to figure this out. Meanwhile, what little inventory they have, will be sold out. If I order online, I will not get credit for my purchases on their member rewards program. I ask for a supervisor and am told, well they are busy so they will call you back in 1-2 days. Well that is no help at all. This is so pathetic it is actually comical. And all of this headache is for marginal quality anyway. What was I thinking? I cannot recommend running from this company strongly enough. Run, and run fast. There are plenty of other clothiers out that will value our business. SHAME ON YOU
online purchase of traveler shirt
I recently purchased a shirt online through a clearance offering. A friend of mine referred me to the website, and I was very excited to get my hands on quality shirts at a good price.
Unfortunately, quality is the opposite of what I received as I opened my first package out of 4 orders and a black/oil stain is all over the collar and neck area.
I truly do not want to leave a poor review or tell my friend about my experience because I know that this was an honest mistake, but I am asking that Jos A Bank restore my trust in purchasing from their online platform through whatever means necessary.
Thank you,
service
I went into the riverside ca store and the manager was so rude. My purpose for going in was to pick up a suit I already paid for. He did not greet me as I walked in and made a sarcastic remark towards me. If this is how your sales associate treats its customers I will never set foot inside another one of your stores again. The sports vest I returned he didn't even attempt to get me another on as well.
Buyer beware - I purchased 5 suits in Jos A Bank Rancho Cucamonga, CA store in July of 2019. The store sales associate told me the store tailor was having a vacation and I could come in for alterations after the tailor comes back. In addition, the sales associate would have to order my suits from othe locations. He said he would call me when my suite arrives in store. He never called. So my wife and I went to the store on 09/15/2019, with the receipts in our hand. The store manager said we had already picked up the suits. We told him the story and he then started to search for my suits. He found one and then said again we have already picked the rest. We had to keep telling him the story and started to search ourselves trying to match the numbers listed on the receipt, from a pile of clothes. We eventually found all of them. The way the store manager treated us as if we were blackmailing the store. This is totally cheating business. I have been the company customer for the past 15 years and I am not coming back anymore. It is frustrating to do business with them and it is disgusting to even think of the way they treated us in the store.
suit
I went in to the store Feb 11th and I was with 4 other guys to get fitted. It was a special for $200 or rental for $150.. I WAS CHARGED $343... And I told the guy I wanted to rent it and he said he would have someone call me. Well nobody called me. I called and someone name Summer called. I called twice since then and nobody called. I told them I want to...

I recently purchased a suit from this location. I was satisfied with initial service. I had purchased the suit because I was going to wear it for a business conference. I did not attend the conference, therefore I no longer needed the suit. Upon my arrival to the store, I was greeted by the manager. Once I stated that I was returning a purchase, he went...

Jos A bank Hanover MD just wrongfully fired me. The boss played favorites and I got fired so his lover can keep his job. I was harassed and attacked several times by Maurice A. King and Allen Laurence the manger just let it happen. When I tried to ask for help they blamed me. I had proof of Maurice lying and try to start but they wouldn't listen. I kept track of everything for 6m. They watched Maurice attack me and did nothing. When I want to go to HR they went to HR first and lied. Maurice was fired before for their little job love affair. So why was it over looked this time. I shouldn't be jobless cause a manger can't do his job and keep his personal life out of it. When I asked for Patrick the head of HR he lied and gave me the HR rep that favored his lies. Allen also had people spy and ease drop on my private conversations to make sure I couldn't go to HR without him knowing and to keep track of what I was doing while building my case. I was plaining to talk with Patrick head of HR then Allen fired me before I had a chance to. I worked there for 5 years and did everything I was told. Maurice took naps on the job came in late all the time and left work on the first 15m break. Which we are not allowed to do. Allen allowed this to go on and other employees don't trust Allen and have quit because of him.
horrible customer service
I had purchased a shirt using my "bank credits" with Jos A Bank...the thread on the shirt cuff was coming off so i called and Jos A Bank said oh were our sorry we will come pick it up and get you a new one in exchange...this March 2 now it is April 14th...I called them wondering where my shirt is ..."oh we did not have the shirt in stock ...you can buy a new shirt but is not on sale so you owe the difference"...the company lied to me and did not notify me that they were not sending another shirt as promised...horrible company
unreliable and completely unprofessional!
I made an online order with Jos A. Bank and ordered some shirts and tie from them. Order was place and they were supposed to tell me the exact mailing date, but no one contacted me for over than a week. So I called them myself and asked about the order. They said that they need some time to check what was going on and later they said that one of my items was no longer in stock and asked me to be patient. They didn't even apologized and the fact that nobody contact me is ridiculous! They refused to refund me and I was waiting over a month for my items to arrive! Terrible company to deal with!
I heard promises that my order was in stock, but it wasn't true
I ordered some clothes for my husband from the company www.josbank.com. I didn’t like the website, because they weren’t honest and still haven’t delivered the order. They provided emails, where they assured me that all items were in stock already and they would provide them soon, but it was only blah-blah and useless promises. I already contacted the bank and hope to get money back. Don’t buy from this dishonest company.
alteration
I went to store #669 in Milford, CT on 2/16/2013 to drop off two baseball umpire pants, 1 plate and 1 base to be hemmed plain with the traveler's crease on both pairs of pants. I also brought my leg guards that I use when I'm behind the plate to get an accurate pinning and measurement.
It was rung up at 11:50 am. I payed $44.00 for the transaction. I'm not complaining about the cost, but it is hard to pay that amount of money if I am unsatisfied with the job. I don't put a price to a man's job, but I expect a first-class job in return.
It looks like I was the first baseball umpire to be serviced by your on-site tailor. He did a fine job on the pinning for the plain bottom umpires use, but when I went to pick up my pants yesterday they were cuffed up on the bottom. I brought the July 2010 Referee Magazine with me so he can see exactly what I wanted done with the 4 inches leftover at the bottom. I wanted the leftover folded inside the pants, not on the outside so the pants do not ride up when the shin guards are used. I also could not find the silicone on either pants for the traveler's crease that I ordered. I need the pants for Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 but your in-store tailor will not be back until next week due to surgery. I had to bring the pants to another person to fix for Saturday.
This was my first time doing business with Jos.A. Bank Clothiers and it was a very unpleasant experience after I saw the finished job, cuffed up bottoms and no traveler's crease. Thanks for nothing.
