terrible customer service
These people are blooming idiots...After applying for and receiving a Home Equity Loan in November 2008 with Capital One, the loan was sold to Chase before I ever made a payment. No problem--I knew Capitla One did not service loans. Called Chase the other day to ask about a grace period on my Home Equity Loan and was told that I did not have a Home Equity Loan, but a first mortgage on my home! They argued with me about what kind of loan I had and stated that I couldn't have a Home Equity Loan on my house becuase I did not have a first mortgage! I called back and demanded to speak to a supervisor to get to the bottom of why my loan had been reclassified without my permission...circular service numbers...they all send you back to the same place. "Supervisor" was just another telephone answerer. No explanation...treated me with rudeness...Get Chase out of my life. I know this isn't a big deal compared to the problems that other people are having, but it's indicative of the MISERABLE service this company provides! Will definitely move my business somewhere else and God bless you folks with really big problems.

wrongfully charge fees
Chase credit card charged my account with $15 late fee and $1 interest on 7/5. However, our payment was not late, instead, Chase received the payment late. Chase system doesn't receive payments on holidays (7/5 Monday after 7/4 Independence Day), but the system does charge late fees on holidays. We called to try to resolve the issue, Both one representative and one superviser refused to reverse the fees. We believe it is extremely wrong to charge us late fee on a holiday when it is Chase system that failed to receive our payment. And our entire purchases (and payment) for the month was only $63.85, while the fees are $16 (i.e. fees are 25% of balance). This is very abusive. The bank's bad behavior should be punished. Customers should be aware of this kind of bad practise and should bank with a decent bank.

$6.00 fee for bank statement
Chase Bank stopped mailing out my monthly bank account statement due to inactivity. When I went to the Chase Bank located at Totem Lake Way in Kirkland, WA to get a copy of my statement I was not told that my account would be charged $6.00 without my authorization. I find this unethical and a deceptive way to generate fees without providing any true banking service.
I want to say that the Bank contacted me and said they would refund the money which they did. I think they need to inform folks if they will be charged. I will not cancel my account and give them high marks for responding so quickly. Next time I will download my staments to a usb and have UPS print them out for 10 cents a copy. Lesson learned.
I am also being charged without prior knowledge for 3 months bank statements $18.00.
The Chase Bank is located in Port Angeles Wa. and I am seriously thinking about canceling my account with them. Being Disabled I ahve only so much to live on. $18.00 is alot to me. Totally false practice as stated in above comment.

heloc
My uncle secured a HELOC for $50k from Chase in 2008 to buy a wheelchair-accessible van for my aunt, who died in Oct, 2009. My uncle died 10 days later. I was named executrix. The attorney for my uncle’s estate sent Chase the death certif. and my letter of authority in November, 2009. The branch also sent these documents to Chase Home Finance and I sent them several times. However, Chase refused to speak to me about the HELOC! I called and emailed several times and they said they had no proof I was the executrix!
In early May, I received a letter from Chase attorneys stating they had sued us! I guess they decided I WAS the executrix. The balance on the HELOC was approximately $40, 500.
I sold my uncle's house and at closing on May 17, 2010, the title company discovered Chase had never recorded the lien against the house! So the payoff was delayed. Chase was paid on May 20, 2010 and they KEPT $2800 from the proceeds for attorney fees!
Finally in June I spoke to someone in their ”executive office” who said it would be investigated. Yesterday I heard from Chase that they will NOT refund the $2800.
Chase has a website devoted to helping their customers with foreclosure, but they never offered that help to me for my deceased uncle’s estate. THEY WOULD NOT SPEAK TO ME!
This is how they treat their customers who die! This is appalling to say the least!
On behalf of my deceased uncle who had very little, I want this $2800 returned to us! This is pocket change to Chase. This must be resolved for my precious uncle and all others who may be treated this way by Chase Home Finance!

chase & giving & on facebook
Charities Cry Foul on Chase Bank
Charities across the country are crying foul, as JP Morgan Chase Bank concludes its second annual $5M “Give Away” contest on Facebook, where participants were invited to vote for their favorite charities to win award money ranging from $20, 000-$250, 000. A significant number of charities that provide services ranging from arts education to autism advocacy and global outreach in support of human rights and eradicating poverty are now claiming that the contest rules were not transparent, and were suspiciously changed in the final stretch of the game, with apparent deference given by Chase to charities that are already well-endowed or that did not engage eligible Facebook users outside of the United States to vote.
“Official” contest rules published by Chase do not appear to have explicitly prohibited individuals from joining Facebook for the purpose of voting, yet thousands of new Facebook user votes were disqualified by Chase for this reason more than three weeks into the competition, with mere hours to go before the final votes were tallied.
A Chase bank representative from NY, on why thousands of votes were revoked from various Top 200 charities poised to win $20, 000 is quoted by one charity as retorting: "Our methods of determining which votes are proper or eligible are private and confidential. If we released this information, then all of the nonprofits would know [and understand] how we determine what is eligible."
Complaints from charities include the sudden removal of hundreds of votes by Chase during nightly “system” updates conducted at 3:00 a.m.; the receipt of automated disqualification emails by charities who had reached the top 200 ranks after arduous weeks of what they perceived to be fair participation in good faith; economic discrimination against participants who used public libraries or internet cafes to place their votes because they may not have had the means to afford a personal home computer; and promises allegedly made by Chase to provide the impacted charities with supporting documentation and understandable rationales that have not materialized as of the date of this publication.
“We received a telephone call a few days before the end of the competition, which at first we assumed to be a congratulatory call from Chase Bank. Instead, we were informed that Chase had identified a vague problem with security issues that was affecting many charities, that they were trying to “get to the bottom of it”, and we were informed that 321 hard-earned votes would be deleted from our rankings that night, ” states Richard Jones, a volunteer for the Dreaming Zebra Foundation, a Portland charity bringing art and music to underprivileged youth. “In response to our obvious confusion and protestations, Chase promised to further evaluate the situation and provide us with a clear explanation, but they never did. Instead they did it again two days later, altogether deleting over 800 votes without telling us precisely why. Our further attempts to reach Chase have been ignored. We don’t doubt that in a contest like this, that there is going to be a certain level of improper behavior, and we are glad to accept the outcome if Chase can prove that the rules were somehow violated, but to make up the rules as you go along is wrong, and to not exhibit an understanding of the time and labor involved for charities to successfully compete in the contest, and to delete our supporter’s votes without telling us why leaves a really questionable impression of the integrity of the contest overall. All we’re asking for is a reasonable explanation.”
A Facebook page has been created by a group called Charities Chasing Justice, and contest participants are invited to join to share their stories and experiences. In the event that the Facebook group is taken down, as organizers fear, by the “powers that be”, a representative for the group says that they will simply create a website instead in what they are calling the “pursuit of charitable justice”.

This is outrageous but not at all surprising from an outfit like Chase...they are worse than the loan sharks!
employees wronged
I worked for WAMU until the Merger last year with Chase Bank and have received, nothing but problems, from the head of the company on down. I was a PFR and as you know we received incentive monthly. When Chase came aboard I stopped receiving my incentives although I worked extremely hard for the company made them millions of dollars but they refused to give me what was due to me. Therefore, I am currently working on a class action lawsuit against Chase Bank and there policies and procedures, and mistreatment of their employees. If you are seriously interested reply to this with your complaint and experience.
scam and silence
Wow I was feeling that I was alone with dealing with Chase. I am disabled and I had WAMU for a long time and with in the last few yrs things became hard I began working with WAMU to do a modification because my inrest rate is 12.9 and is not fixed so after working with WAMU for months I was informed that I was now being taken over by Chase. Well I was then told I would have to start the process all over again so I did I have been working with chase for the last 9 months to do a modification and they have done nothing but tell me that I was missing something or they didnt get my fax after they finally stopped that lie the next thing I was told was that I was denied. So I began going through the local consimer credit company here in town. There I learned that I should not have been denied so they went again submitting all of my paper work. I am 2 months behind but close to catching up as of today. Well after looking through mail here it is July and I noticed I have not recieved a statement since Feb. Well on today I went back down to the Consumer Credit and there they tried to contact chase after we got someone on the phone they were really rude and did not want to give us any information. Even to include me the owner, They told us that they that would send us to a diffrent department and after doing that a few times they told us that they will not give us any information and all we would get next is a dial tone and that was all. I need to redo my information but they will not give the Consumer credit company any information to do so. And still now they will not talk to me about my own account I too will LIKE TO BE INVOLVED IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINT CHASE.They really have no intent if helping anyone with the government money they were given I have talked with many companies and they all say that Chase are not easy to work with and most times they wont.

try to make it short. Filed for loan modification w/ Chase on April '09. Chase finally approved my loan modification on March '10 and gave me 4 trial payments. I paid 3 trial payments on time. During the 3 rd trial month, Chase sold my loan to a different bank. The new bank has no record of a loan modification in the works w/ Chase and no record of my last 2 mortgage payment. Chase must have pocketed the 2 payments. Chase sucks!
There must be a nationwide lawsuit against Chase. Where is it, sign me up !?
try to make it short. Filed for loan modification w/ Chase April '09 . Chase approved a loan modification on March '10 and gave me a 4 trial payment b4 making the final decision. On my 3rd trial payment, Chase sold my loan to a different bank. The new bank has no record of the loan modification that Chase approved on and couldnt find my last 2 mortgage payments. Chase pocketed the payments. So chase screwed my credit, added back payments plus late fees, and backed out of the loan modification. The government needs to call for a martial law over the banks to help the homeowners/ the people.
ridiculous hidden fees
I opened a Chase checking account for no purpose other than it was convenient to where I worked. While still in the process of opening it, I made sure to ask if there were fees to make account transfers, and how quickly on average their online banking was updated. I was told there were zero fees for account transfers, and that the online banking updates instantly. Regardless of that, I chose to keep my own written records, just in case. I transfered funds into another bank account I already had. For some unknown reason, this took over a week to do. Then Chase charged me for it, which overdrew my account, which I also got charged for. I went to the bank to speak to cash a money order my parents had sent me for Christmas, they told me it was uncashable, and that my only option was to deposit it. This was before I had even mentioned I had an account. So, I got to use my Christmas money to pay for their issues. What little of it was left, they charged me an annual fee for a program I never signed up for, never got any information for. I eventually got them to reverse all of the charges, besides the annual debit card fee. Well, now they've done it again. I spent my fourth of July shopping to my heart's content, being ever so cautious about what I was spending. I came home several times in my trip to compare my numbers to my online banking numbers, and they matched up. So today, when I get online and see that the money that I had left in my account had somehow disappeared without any additional transactions and I had been charged three overdraft fees of thirty-four dollars each, it is pretty safe to say that I will be switching banks. I felt especially ridiculous when my fiancé was triple charged for something, they would not fix it, and charged him overdraft fee after overdraft fee. This was after they would not refund him yet another double payment because they didn't have proof it existed, even though it was right there in his transaction history, yet I stayed with the bank. Chase bank is a real nightmare. Avoid it at all costs.
This is 100% accurate, I've banked with chase for almost 6 years and when starting my account was told I could set my account to be unable to be overdrafted. Up until 2 years ago this was the case and I had minimal complaints other then 10 dollars here or 20 dollars there literally DISAPPEARING. I started at my current job 2 years ago and receive paper checks that are company checks through chase bank so they cost nothing to cash. As of today I cannot deposit any money in my account without large portions being taken for overdraft fees caused from chase taking money that isn't there. Not only is my account supposed to be unable to be overdrafted but the 100 times it has been have all been from chases hidden fees. When I tell them about this in store they pull 1 excuse after another out of there ### to try to make it seem like that's how it is everywhere but the information I have from starting the account says my account cannot be overdrafted and that there fees cannot overdraft a account. I have lost hundreds if not thousands of dollars to chase and there hidden fees. If anyone reading takes any advice from this page let it be that convenience isn't everything. DO NOT BANK WITH CHASE, your money is safer in a strangers hands then with these crooks.
excessive credit card limit decreases
I hold 4 credit cards with Chase. 2 started out with Providian, which was later bought out by Chase. Of course, I had balances before the takeover. My credit limits were initially dropped shortly after takeover (1+ year ago) but I did not complain. Today takes the cake - I received notification from Chase (4 separate notices) that they have halved in some cases my credit lines, putting my new credit line only hundreds of dollars away from my current balances. My minimum payments ALONE will put me OVER the limit in a matter of a month or two. I have ALWAYS paid all 4 accounts on time, and ALWAYS pay substantially above the minimum payment. Not to mention that my credit is going to take an immediate and MASSIVE nosedive due to my new balance vs. credit line. This is predatory and unconscionable behavior. Believe me, they are making a FORTUNE off of me just based on my revolving balances alone. By this move they have done, they are going to send me into financial RUIN within a matter of a month or two. My accounts are not now (or ever) in default - there is no reason to do such a substantial reduction in my credit lines - especially all 4 at once. Apparently they do not value me as a longstanding customer. This is ridiculous and shows how little this bank truly cares for its customers. I am appalled at this move on the bank's part. Here is an outline of the credit line cuts:
Account 1: My current balance is 3942.02 - they cut my limit from 11, 600 to 4, 900. 8 days ago, I had $7607 available credit. Now, with no notice, I have 641!
Account 2: My current balance is 5004.12 - they cut my limit from 8, 100 to 5, 700. 13 days ago, I had $2905 available credit, now with no notice, I have $658!
Account 3: My current balance is 2761.89 - they cut my limit from 5, 800 to 3, 300. 13 days ago I had $2888 available credit, now with no notice, I have $538!
Account 4: My current balance is 2258.86 - they cut my limit from 5, 000 to 2, 900. 8 days ago, I had $2, 466 available credit, now with no notice, I have $641!
How is it that I, as a longstanding customer who pays on time and always ABOVE my minimum, and that this company certainly makes a TON of money in finance charges, is able to take my credit and TRASH IT with no notice. As I stated earlier, my minimum payments ALONE becoming due are going to send me OVER MY NEW CREDIT LIMITS within a matter of a month or two. This is unfair treatment by a bank that is clearly BULLYING its customers.

check cashing policy
I am registering this complaint due to the fact that I recieved a pell grant check recently from my university. The check was drawn on Chase Bank. The amount is irrelevent. The situation is as follows. Walked into the Merced branch of the bank fully expecting to be able to cah a check drawn on the financial institution. Although pleasant the teller informed me that I would not be able to cash the check due to the fact that I had for ID was my valid California drivers liscense and my Social Security card. I am an intellegent man and understand the fact that they need to be careful, but as I had all valid ID and all paperwork from my university surrounding the circumstances of this check, not to mention the fact it was drawn on their bank. They could not honor the check as I did not have a bank card or someother form of identification. I requested to speak to the branch manager, who went over my options, to no avail. I explained that I am a student, albeit 52 years old that rents a room from folks, and does not have any utilities or any other form of ID other than what has traditionaly been acceptable. Then the manager went on to inform me that if I was 55 years of age, they could cash the check for me as their "senior citizen" policy. Thsi appalled me. What kind of financial institution can refuse to cash a vaild check from a reputable source, drawn on their bank, and make a different policy for ID, based on a variable of three years of age. I even offered to allow them to speak to my student counselor, as she could have easily gave them even further verification. They politely refused that option. I am here today to simply inform people that this bank is not a "people" institution. The one thing I did promise the branch manager in a polite fashion, was that I would recommend not using them for the duration, and that I would complain via the web, as I see many others have as well. Ban Chase Bank.
Wouldn't cash a check over $2500 from thier own customer! How is thay even possible for a bank to decline to pay for a check no matter the ammount, as long as money is in account.
HOW TO GET AROUND CHASE BANK CASHING FEES!
I am a General Contractor:
I simply took the check back and told the bank manager that I was going back to the check writer and charge them the $8.00 fee 'for not having an account at my bank'. He told me that ‘I didn’t have to do that’….I told him ‘yes I did! I was not going to pay a fee for cashing their member's check when they have already paid $2.00 to $3.00 to obtain and write the check to start with!’ And, ‘this absurd rule of theirs is the one reason I didn’t have an account there. It’s stupid!’ When I took the check back she said she did not know the bank was doing that, and was not going to pay Chase $10.00 or $11.00 every time she write a check. SHE MOVED HER ACCOUNT!
I have about 25 customers with Chase accounts. Each time I add $8.00 to $10.00 to their estimate. I am not pay for them to maintain a Chase checking account! Chase cash more than 2, 0000.00 checks yearly ...that's $25, 000.00 a year that we are paying for their members to maintain their Chase checking account. 'WHO DO CHASE THINK THEY ARE? THE IRS! SEND THE FEE BACK TO THEIR CUSTOMER….. DON’T PAY IT!...LET THEIR CUSTOMER DEAL WITH IT!
Chase is ridiculous with their fees. It's like flying Spirit Airlines, they charge for absolutely everything. I'm not a customer of theirs for this reason. My experience today proves how ridiculous they really are. I was given a check from a friend today in amount of $1000 from Chase. I walked into a local branch to cash the check as it was closer than my own bank. The teller then tells me that there is a 2% check cash fee. They wanted $20 to simply hand me my money, even though if I were to simply deposit it in my bank it would be free. I kindly took the check back and then drove 5 minutes to my own bank and then deposited it for free. I hope Chase goes bankrupt and people stop putting up with their idiocy. Glad I'm not a customer
wrongful foreclosure
Due to the downward economy I could no longer keep up with feeding my rental house and with the home prices at the bottom of the barrel I found myself upside down with this home. I listed the property for sale under a "short sale". After the 3rd showing of the property there was a contract written for which I accepted. The file was assigned to a negotiator at Chase and after 6-weeks we received approval from them on the sale. The next step was to obtain approval from the HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit). AS the Trustee Sale date loomed before us the negotiator on the first postponed the sale for 1-week to obtain approval from the HELOC. We did receive the approval from the HELOC and everything was sent to the negotiator on the first to resubmit for a postponement of the trustee sale. The realtors called, faxed, emailed numerous times a day to no avail...with a ready, willing & able buyer on the sidelines waiting to proceed with purchasing this property the trustee sale was not postponed and the home was foreclosed on. With Chase being one of the biggest offenders in accepting bailout money from our goverment (yours & my pockes) how can they get away with no stopping these sales when they have approved them? And to put the icing on the cake they are giving the tenants between $1, 000 - $1, 500 to give them the keys! Sounds like CORRUPTION to me! And, I did beg Chase to help me many times and I was told "when you make better money, call us back".

OMG.. i was 1 month behide and when i called to make it the guy on the phone said he could get me a cheaper payment, but i need 2 make the makement on the 9th of every month so i did that i made one, and then the next monthi was only going to beable 2 pay it on the 10th. so i called them to fine out with me paying on the 10th would i be out of this promram. Will the person on the phone listen to what i said and she tells me your not behide your loan is up to date, BECAUSE YOU WERE A PREAOVE FOR THE MONIFITION LOAN AND NOT TO MAKE A PAYMENT UNTIL I GET MY PAPERWORK ..so 2 months go by and i called them they told me that if i did not hear anything by January to make sure that i called so i call and they tell me that i owe over 6, 000.00., and i told them what i was told to do, and they told me that they would never tell us to stop making a payment, and that i needed to do they paper and send it in for them to tell me if i got appove for the loan.I called again the next week and the guy was very nice in trying to help me. he put me on hold for awhile and came back on and said that i need to send that paper work as soon as i can and he tell me the samething dont make a payment until you know. I have a FHA LOAN i am hoping they can help me. If you find out anything please let me know. I am sorry for the way i spell and type.. And this whole time this is going on i have not got a bill or a letter saying that i am late and need to payment..
Their mortgage department is the worst in the industry. Bait and switch, finance the house for a payment of $1650 then raise it to $2359 in less than one year due to escrow issues. Then, to add insult to injury, demand $2153 in two weeks or begin forclosure due to a property tax increase. All this in 15 months. I recommend your local load shark over Chase. I have a 7% fixed FHA mortgage and I am putting up with this? But, hey, we are paying for all the banks mistakes with our taxes so they really don't care if we let them foreclose or not. I am not really concerned about what a bank executive makes, so Congress, why don't you actually do something that will benefit us tax payors and regulate these banks so they cannot get away with this stuff.
I have been trying to get a home modification with Chase home finance who hold my mortgage. The first time I started with the paper work, I mailed it in certify and did receive a returned notice stating that it was received. Three months and tons of phone calls later, I found out that my modification paper was just discarded in a pile of paper they call it " the miscellaneous pile". So I demanded to talk to a supervisor, after 45minutes of waiting, the supervisor finally came and told me that I have missing pages from the original application. I know this to be a bunch of crab...because when I started the application I printed from their own website and it has a checklist, which I checked it and make sure I have all the pages before I sent it off to them. So I did faxed in the missing pages as requested by the supervisor. Two months went by with nothing from Chase, I called in again and found out that I also have some missing paper, this time it was 3 difference other missing pages that they didn't mention 2 months ago. To make the story short...they are not interested in working with anyone, not even someone who has never had a late or miss payment in the past and still haven't been late yet. I have used all of my savings to make the payment after I lost my job. Now with only one income I am no more saving. I am unable to make the payment anymore if they didn't give me any kind of modification, I fear that I might have to give them the house and move on. Where is O'bama and his so call "help for home owners"? Maybe instead of giving our money to the bank, they should give us the money.
Chase took over my mortgage account back in 2017, every since then... There has been nothing but problems. First, when they purchased the loan from the first lender they entered the incorrect address. My street address is 4700 and they entered 7700 in the system. I called them several times regarding this issue because I was having problems proving where I lived! They stated it was not their error and I needed to contact the closing agency. I went back and fort I know for 4 months until it was corrected. Secondly, I made a payment with a check over the phone, the rep entered a wrong number from my check and they returned my check and charged me a late fee.! Thirdly, I made a payment over the phone for one months payment and they debited my account twice. Not only did they take the money out twice, I received several nsf fees and they cont to try to debit that same amount out of my account. It was their error, but now I am having to pay the cost because I have yet to receive the refunds for my nsf fee's that were assessed for their error and they are still trying get the money out of my account that I never authorized! The customer services sucks. I get different answers everytime I call and they are rude. Now I have to change checking accounts just to stop that withdrawel because it's taking them longer than expected to correct the error. I feel there is nothing to research because it was not my error it was theirs! I did not authorize for them to debit my account for 2 payments! And I can't dispute the transaction with the bank because they return the item each time because of the lack of funds. So I am negative in my account and still assessing more fees... Not to mention I am broke. I don't even have money to put gas in my car! They are taking all I have and I don't even owe them anything!

CHASE have been giving me a run around w/ my home loan modification.
I would like to find out what other options I have. Per Pres. Obama's program, the bank should be helping us to reorgnized our loan.
I have been calling almost every week. I don't know how many times I faxed all the requirements. I was told that my application was denied bec. I don't make enough. Exactly my point, since I am the only one working at this time, I want to extend the life of the loan so I can afford the monthly payment.
Can someone help me, please.

harassment
Because of my unpaid account they connected my phone to a machine to dial my home phone many times during the day. It is done to many people every day. I told them and emailed that I wont pay till my account is fixed. I had a permanent credit and unfairly they reversed the charges. No one listens or try to understand. Keeping on calling my house and no one at the other end. That is HARRASSEMENT. How can they allow this to happen.
Chase is the worse company
SUCH A STUPID BEHEAVIOR ON THEIR PART.
There is procedures to follow. Harassment is NOT one of them.
I agree they should be allowed to call, but not connect people to a machine and no one on the other side. Last week I answered someone was on the other side. I was told my case was going to an attorney. I agreed with it. Why keeping on dialing my house.
Totally uncalled for. If you don't pay Chase should follow normal procedures. Like taking you to court. Harassment is fruitless. I don't think that your gone pay just because they harass you.
I gave them the proof the merchant was wrong, presented false papers. Graig's list (the buyer has not rules) the sales person does) No accept and agree for the buyer. That is what the merchant presented. My credit was permanent. Chase rule is 90 days to dispute a charge. They recharged me 5 months after. That is breaking their own rules.
Also even before it was settled, I got a letter telling me had posted my dispute on my credit report.
I had many times issues with credit cards. They always checked my complaints ad followed to find the wrong and the right. And to call with NO ! talk too?
CANT BE RIGHT.
I have been receiving calls from Chase(after they jacked up our interest rate 11% at one time), we decided to wait and settle the account and not pay chase anymore its only one credit card and we have 5 but here are the calls as listed on my phone
9/13 1:09pm
9/13 2:34pm
9/13 3:41pm
9/13 4:05pm
9/13 5:15pm
9/13 8:40pm
Now that was on a SUNDAY, so I decided to call them (first off I work for a collection agency and I know that sooner than later they will call with a settlement amount) I told them to cease and desist (which does NOT have to be received in WRITING like collection agencies try and tell you it does) Calls stopped for 10 days, now in two days these are the calls:
9/23 8:03 am
9/23 11:46 am
9/23 12:58 pm
9/23 2:58 pm
9/23 3:29 pm
9/23 3:42 pm
9/23 3:47 pm
9/23 4:00 pm
9/23 4:15 pm
9/23 8:38 pm
10 calls and I spoke to the rep on the 3:42 pm call and got 4 calls after that because he didn't get what he wanted which was a payment.
Now so far today
9/24 8:02 am
9/24 8:55 am
9/24 9:58 am
9/24 11:47 am
9/24 12:42 pm
9/24 1:33 pm
9/24 1:55 pm
I haven't spoke to them today because I want to see how many calls I will actually get. I know not just from working in collections but common sense says this is plain out harassment.
I have had two chase cards for over 16 years and have had excellent service. As far as I am concerned, they are one of the best.
mortgage extension request
Every complaint I have read on this site matches ALL the complaints I have regarding Chase Home Finance. My husband and ran into trouble paying our mortgage when he lost his job in 2007. We thought Chase was helping us when they approved us for a modification, after almost a year of countless phone calls, faxes of documents, and aggravation beyond aggravation in retelling our circumstances to every person who happened to pick up the call. We were approved and had the papers notarized in April 2009, made a contribution payment, and our first new payment was due in June of 2009. We made these payments, and then I lost my job as a full time teacher. We continued to make our modification payments each month, but began to have trouble paying the escrow. Low and behold, when we thought we were finally able to pay the back escrow...Chase informed us that we owed much more than that! They had been taking our monthly payments and hanging them in a suspense account, charging us late fees, as well as fees to have the home assessed to make sure it was in liveable condition, and applying our payments when they saw fit. NEXT...we were advised to request an extension on the account to bring it current, otherwise the monies wouldn't be applied appropriately, and we would have more headaches. REALLY? Well...we applied for the extension, were faxed documentation regarding the amount we had to send in, and we sent it in (almost $6, 000), return receipt requested so we had proof that it was in by their deadline of May24, 2010. Guess what...we were told that it wasn't received in time and we needed to send one more escrow payment of $802. We tried to fight it verbally over the phone, but eventually agreed to send it in because we were told we would have to anyway, and we would be saving ourselves the $1, 400 of the modification payment for the month of June. We were also told that this would bring our account current. I continued to call to verify if the payment was received and applied because I did not get my return receipt card back this time, and when I finally got through I was passed onto the supervisor who informed me that we still needed to send another $2, 200. All of this, AFTER we had been told we were approved for the extension! Oh, and did I mention that the first return receipt card was stamped by someone at Chase on May 24...the deadline which they told me we neede to meet...and when I finally received the second card from the extra payment we made, it wasn't stamped by anyone, nor did it bare a date of receipt. I have filed a complaint with the OCC (Office of the Comptroller of Currency), and continue to fight this tooth and nail. Chase wants to play GOD and control our lives, but they were no where in sight when we lost our jobs and couldn't control that!

Chase sold my wife, who's not on my mortgage an extension after we were late once. The rep told her to make payment dates at 2 specified times while the extension was being processed. My wife asked why were the dates given for payments 30 days past due our regular mortgage dates. The chase rep assured her not to worry, that tie is the normal process for getting an extension, and neither of these payments would be considered late nor would go on her husband's credit report. Low and behold, months later while trying to purchas a new car that my credit score had dropped from 750 to 508. He put the late payments on my credit report! With my credit at 508 I was unable to purchase any vehicles for my company which has been in business for 16 years, qualify for loans for cash flow and since have had to sell my house in order to not lose my company. I have been calling chase and writing to the proper authorities to no avail. They never return my phone calls or have done anything to correct this! Please help! loan modification scam!
I am dealing with the same thing with Chase Home Finance. This loan modification process has been going on for 11 months! At the beginning of the loan mod process - They never informed me that the loan modification payments would be considered less than an actual payment, thus making me have "rolling lates" - consistent late payments. Now my credit is even...

I requested assistance from Chase about a Home Modification Plan exactly one year ago. We lost our business and had nothing but unemployment. At that time, they offered a temporary reduction in our payment from $1120 per month to $981 per month. Though we had nothing but unemployment, we made those $ 981 payments every month and they accepted them, for which I can prove.
We filled out the modification packet as many as seven times during the span of 1 year. The fraud involves that with each packet they would claim they did not have this and then that ---every single time. In other words, this tactic is a stall tactic until ones financial situation changes. At this time, low and behold, they have all the packet pieces and with your current situation, you do not qualify. At this point, you are denied the modification; and they add up all the fees they can possibly find and demand this huge payment; and slap you with foreclosure and proceed to steal the home ----because by then you are even further behind. Also during this period neither tax nor insurance are paid (if escrowed), thus making matters even worse. Not to mention the reduction in the temporary payment, in our case, less than $200 dollars is certainly no favor at all---just more of the same scam.
I also might add you never have one adviser .Instead, you are shuffled through many creating mass confusion, and even the contact phone numbers are shuffled continuously.
This must be investigated, as I am quite sure we are not the only ones going through this very unethical and downright evil charade. In fact, there are already web sites trying to organize themselves, all with the same complaints concerning Chase .
Thank You,
Brenda Nickel
I did a Chase Home loan modification and got an approval for it. I followed up on the modification agreement payment by cashiers check or wiring the money for the payment. I am unsure as to how long I will have to send payment via wire transfer or by buyin a cashiers check. I think this is unfair to me because it costs me at to purchase the cashiers check and sending it via certified mail. This is very inconvenient and unfair to me.
I would like a normal payment plan schedule that allows me to make payments in a form of a personal check with a normal billing cycle. I am in and out of the country and when I am, no one is able to send these payments for me. Therefore, this will incur late fees for me and give me bad credit.
Someone has given them my phone number and is under some type of collection. They keep calling my house leaving a message
for someone who I have never even heard of. After three messages, I phoned the number they left on my answering machine to ask them to stop calling me. I was told unless I have an account number they could not search me. I told them they are calling the wrong number, even after speaking to a manager, I was told there was nothing they could do. They said try and stay home so you could answer the call and then tell the caller they have the wrong number. I had to laugh thinking - yes I will just stay home from work and wait to receive this call to tell them they have the wrong number.
Well it just so happened this same women who has been leaving the messages for the wrong person called on a Saturday and I was home. I told her you have the wrong number. She said sorry and quickly hung up on me before I could even ask her name. So I expected the calls to stop but they did not. She keeps calling my house. I now have eight messages, from the same women, asking for the same person who I have never even heard of. I pay per incoming and outgoing call and these people are now costing me money. My next course of action is to contact the FCC.

predatory lending/insurance fraud
I lease and sell homes. I have a mortgage with Washington Mutual, which Chase Bank now owns, on a home in Nevada.
When called about a late payment in August of 2009, I told Chase that home was vacant and for sale, that there was a contract to sell the property by lease/option, and that the loan should be current the next month.
They (Chase) contacted Farmers (my insurance co.) and told them the house was vacant on August 21, 2009. Farmers policy is to cancel insurance after 30 days of vacancy.
I sold the home by lease/option on Sept 1, 2009, and occupancy took place on that date. I have retained legal title to that property until the new owners exercise their option to purchase. Weststar is my servicer on that loan, and they began paying Chase on Sept. 3, 2009 from the proceeds of the lease.
That same week, I notified Chase of the sale on Sept 1, 2009. Chase never informed Farmers of the sale and occupancy, therefore Farmers canceled the policy on that home. My annual premium with Farmers was $2, 043/yr.
Chase then had Assurant, Inc. place a policy on that property. Assurant's premium is $7, 683/yr.
My monthly payment increased nearly $1, 100/mo. from $2, 350.34/mo. to $3, 439.37/mo. due to the 'increased impounds' needed to cover the $5, 640/yr. increase in insurance, retroactive back to September of 2009.
I was not informed of the increased payments, or of Assurant's covering this home until today, June 18, 2010, by Jay Balagtas (Chase CS), who told me there was no business arrangement between Chase and Assurant.
FYI, the property taxes went down $718/yr.to $5, 071.88/yr., and the interest rate dropped from 5.29% to 5.06% during the same period.
Loraine at Assuant [protected]) told me Chase and Assurant are contracted affiliated partners, and that she is sending me a copy of the insurance policy and of the agreement between Chase and Assurant. Later that day, I confronted George Serrudo from the Chase customer service (CS) dept. [protected]) about what Loraine told me.
I never received an insurance policy, was never told of the contracted business arrangement between Chase and Assurant, and was never given formal notice of that new policy with Assurant.
I was never given a form releasing my right to individual insurance representation.
Here are excerpts from Assurant's website:

I contacted the Nevada Insurance Division. They state Assurant is not licensed in Nevada to sell insurance at all, let alone covering property located in Nevada, and that they required to give me a copy of the policy at the time any coverage takes affect.
I have over $150k in equity in this home. This is how lenders 'legally' steal peoples property through foreclosure.
Not sure how this is going to be resolved, but I am going to demand a release of the loan and a deed of reconveyance for mortgage fraud, insurance fraud, breach of contract, wire fraud, and mail fraud.
Do you have any other areas I can get some action against Chase?
http://www.innercitypress.org/jpmchase.html Chase is the ### son of the Anti-Christ
I anyone is interested please contact me, also I plan on taking this thing viral, so that it get more wheels to it. Nothing with a person name exposed but docs blacked out from names and accounts that show people what to look for to identify the things this bank is doing.
We are currently getting actions taken in NY against chase with similar issues, plus After careful audit it has come out that Chase has altered our Principle and interest payment which is fixed without reason, Let alone per what I have learned also illegal. What I have found in case law is that if enough of us pull together with a action The Bank will settle to keep this from going Class Action. As in its much cheaper for them to turn over deeds and papers then face an audit and other factors that may come out of a legal fight.
I hope you rip them a new one. Did you know that not only is the force placed policy much more expensive, it does not provide personal property protection. They are taking extra money from you to protect themselves in case of a loss. You and your belongings are not important. How thoughtful of Assurant to provide this type of coverage for much more money from you. Best of luck
real estate taxes
I sold property at 393 shadow road, greenwood, in 46142 to matthew and casey jackson. They obtained a mortgage loan from chase.
I purchased a new real estate and when I paid my property taxes the following year on my new house I accidently used my old parcel number. Therefore, chase only paid a partial payment on the jackson property. I have tried to recover this money to no avail. Tammy anderson, a supervisor with chase told me they were not going to reimburse me and the homeowner needed to pay me. The jackson's say chase has the money in escrow and they are not paying it.
Where can I get help to get my money returned to me.
Doris
