Try Self instead
Go thru the sign up process, enter you SSN and all that only to be told they can’t verify your information in public records (which is ridiculous) and basically they say “best of luck go screw yourself” in the nicest way possible.
No other credit building companies had issues verifying me.
Oh and customer service? Not a thing at Kikoff.
Recommendation: Self Card. Waaaaay better and great customer service.

It made my credit score go down
A complete waste of money. I even purchased the upgrade to get my payments reported to all 3 credit agencies. It never improved my score, ever, and one time, my score dropped like 7 points after they reported a payment and I know it was due to kickoff because it was the only source of a change on my report. Thank god it’s cheap and I can get the $120 for the savings/upgrade option. A complete waste of time and money. A very useless app.

Not chime friendly?
This app is stupid
I opened both credit account and credit loan builder wasn’t able to pay my loan builder by debit payment so I had to pay it via bank withdrawal.
Now when it came to credit account I wasn’t able to pay with either my cards so I had to close account so that they wouldn’t report my account as delinquent. Now since I closed the credit account now I’m not able to log back in to make loan builder payment. This is very annoying and inconvenient.

This app hurt my credit score significantly
Definitely don’t recommend to anyone. I opened a credit account with Kikoff but hadn’t been using it to purchase anything so my “minimum payment” was always $0.00. Yet because I didn’t process the payment (of $0) it reflected that I missed my payment for 4 months in a row. My credit dropped 50 points because of this. I have called their support line which goes straight to voicemail and doesn’t accept messages. I’ve sent multiple emails that have been ignored. Definitely hope no one falls for this!

Horrible service
I was using kickoff for almost a year, and my credit score made no advancement. After almost paying it for a year I didn’t want to use their services anymore, they reported my account as “past due” to the credit bureaus even though I no longer wanted their services, they were acting as if I had an actual credit line with them. Then when I complained, they told me if I close my account then my score will go down. It’s a trap, if you close your account then your credit it goes down… they want you paying forever.

I seen a ton of good reviews , that’s what made me download but I have to get on here and tell the truth ! So I sent my direct deposit to this app & I still have no received a physical card ! I’m still waiting ! Every virtual card transaction I’ve tried today has declined ! I called customer service she has no information and lied and said it was the merchant ! I’ve called the merchants they said no that’s not true ! She even read to me my account number that did not match the numbers I’m provided in the app ! DO NOT USE ! VERY SKETCHY ! FRAUD

BEWARE HIDDEN FEES
I have been using this app for a year, and it has a small degree helped me build some credit. However in one of the most difficult financial months of the year, I have just come to the realization that I was charged $60 out of nowhere when all I was supposed to be charged was two dollars a month. I find this extremely deceitful and I’m having a really hard time contacting the company to get my money back. I was in the process of recommending this out to a friend, but given this new information I can no longer recommend this app as a trusted source

Did not resolve my many requests for help
I contacted this merchant multiple times about my payment methods not going through on their app. I added about four different payment methods, and none worked. I was told multiple times that it was on my banks end. How can this be something on the banks when I added four different payment methods!? this app is now trying to ding my credit when this whole time I’ve been trying to make payments without fail. My payments only started going through after they updated the app. I want this fixed or I need to contact the ComplaintsBoard.com. And I’m not playing.

It works but is miss leading
If you look at other credit building apps you pay in monthly and they report that to the bureaus and as you’re paying in they are saving that money for you. This app tells you they give you a line of credit, but it is a credit builder card not a credit card. If you look at the chime or brigit credit builder cards you load money onto the card and use it as a “debit card” but it reports to the credit bureaus. SIMPLIFIED this app makes you pay them monthly and the only thing you get in return is higher credit you don’t get your money back and you can’t spend the credit.

Where to start
Absolutely no customer service with these people. My phone got stolen and a bunch of things like my emails got hacked and I couldn’t even get in touch with anyone from this company to let them know of the situation. Yet they can put a derogatory remark on my credit score. THEN when I finally got in touch with someone they told me they had no history of me ever having an account and them & that I needed to email there “support email”. Which nobody responded to when I wrote them. I’m an understanding person but this is absolutely absurd - VERY DISAPPOINTED AS A CUSTOMER

So I did this for about 8 months. It really didn’t do much to my credit. So I cancelled. Trying to get my money back has not been easy. I connected my bank through their plaid and got the small deposit they wanted me to verify. Problem is they have nowhere to verify this and now I can’t get my money back. They have no phone support and I have emailed dozens of times and the only response I get is we have put this up to another person and should be resolved in 5 to 7 days. It has been weeks and have had no more replies. Feel like I was just scammed out of all that money.

Misleading! Do not trust this scam
I just closed my account with Kikoff and they don’t return your money. They also report you on your credit report as getting a loan from them if $500 which I did not sign up for. The way it’s reported on your credit report is they report you taking out a $500 dollar loan from them which is untrue. I signed up for their $2.00 a month service. They did not return any of my money when I closed my account and they charged a extra $10 a month for 4 months on my card that I didn’t realize til it was to late. They did not return my money or acknowledge fault after they closed my account. I will be contacting my lawyer. I don’t think you guys are legally allowed to do this.

I made and account with my Strugglesreal95@gmail.com and I gave it my SSI number and birthdate and it t won't even let me fully login to the kikoff app cause it says cant verify identity at this time it's been 4 months and still it can't verify who I am
It has been 6 months since I complained about kikoff taking money from my account that I don't even have now 6 months later I have a bank charge for$5.00 for kikoff.. stop [censored]ing stealing money. They do this about every six months phone calls to them result in getting no where.
