Kool Smiles my young daughter having to wait in waiting area by herself

Kool smiles is not family oriented. They implemented a rule/law which as a mother don't think is right. I pick up my girls from school for an appointment, which one of them had. I was asked to leave my younger child outside in the waiting area because they can't have her back there. I was informed it's either I stay with stay with my crying child in the waiting area while they took the other one inside. Or leave her and go inside with my other daughter. What kind of rule is this. What parent wouldn't want to be in a room with their child while they're being treated!? This is unacceptable! I will take my children somewhere else.

Kool Smiles wrong treatment and service

Incident day: May 03, 2017
Incident location: Chamblee/Buford Hwy office

I visited the location since I had sensitivity in the tooth located at the right side.

I inquired in the phone regarding the treatment and cost where the person who attended told me that the cost for the treatment will include the first time examination fees as well. But, unfortunately they collected both the charges separately and told me that the person who informed you provided the incorrect information. I accepted the inconvenience caused and went inside for the treatment.

They took the x-ray and checked, they informed me that since the cavity is deep they would drill and check if its touching the root, if it is then they would send me to an other concern for the root canal.

They drilled deeply and filled it with cavity and informed me that if there is any trouble they could come and visit. They also told me that there would be pain for about 2 weeks.

The pain was sustaining and I was unable to chew in the operated section for more than two weeks. Because of this issue, I booked an appointment with them again by May 22 but they sent me off again from the reception, letting me know that if we check again then we would charge you for the x-ray. the doctor did not even took a glance on the infected section.

I raised a complaint immediately but there was no response from you people. Because of this reason I went to India for the treatment by July.
The doctor there informed me that the cavity drilled should not be filled, it should have been proceeded with the root canal treatment. The pain I suffered was because the wrong treatment done by kool smiles. The pressure was more because of the wrong cavity filling, so when the doctor tried opening the cavity the pain was literally high and it was not controlled even by the Anesthesia injections. It took about three to 4 weeks for my treatment to be completed and relieved. I have all the proofs on the treatment done. I could send you a copy if needed.

Since my treatment is already done, I would like to get a full refund which could be a fine solution.

Kool Smiles terrible place

I took my son to the kool smiles rock hill location for his first dentist appt and will NEVER go back! This place needs to be shut down! My son is 16 months old and has 4 teeth and they held him down and started flossing his teeth and sticking things in his mouth... being his first appt he was scared and upset and this is supposed to be a kid friendly place, they did nothing to try to calm him down! He was turning purple from holding his breath and screaming and crying! I told them to let him up so I could calm him down and the lady just looked at me and said it had to be done! Like why does a 16 month old who has 4 teeth need to have their teeth flossed when his teeth dont even touch?!? The lady wad holding his head down on her lap and holding his mouth open and would get an attitude when hed jerk away! It took me getting an attitude and literally snacthing him away from them and walking out! And they were all extremly rude about the whole thing! I really saw how unappropriate it all was when I made him another appointment at another dentist office! They never tried to hold him down and did not floss his teeth at all! This place in rock hill is absolutly awful

Kool Smiles horrible visit

Date: August 12, 2017
Client Number: [protected]

Kool Smiles is supposed to be based on a kid friendly, professional atmosphere. Unfortunately, this is not what I received on my visit this past Saturday. The experience my 5 year old son had to endure on that visit was not nice, nor appropriate. Being strapped down in a harness for over 15 minutes waiting for the only dentist in the office at that time, to come in and do the dental work was very upsetting. Understanding there is only one dentist in the office at that time, you would think they would strap him down just a few minutes before the dentist come in to work and not 15-20 minutes before. Not to mention, the dentist was not kid friendly or kid sensitive at all. My son began to panic after being strapped down for so long. One of the women who assisted in the strap down of my son was very rude and unprofessional. The information should be listed on my son's record as to she said to put the notes on his record, RUDELY. Unfortunately, I did not get her name, but she was someone that apparently doesn't work well with the public. Unfortunately, my son did not receive the procedure he was there for. He just received being stuck in the gums with needles twice (which he cried because it hurt) and being strapped down for over 15 minutes, rudeness, and unprofessional-ism. At the end of this, they did not realize this was a little 5 year old they were doing this to. I will not be bringing my son back to this kool smiles location and I do plan to take extra steps with this complaint because this was very upsetting and not right.

Kool Smiles appointments/ortho

I am having an issue with getting seen on time. Thry need to figure out how they can schedule appointments. I am a frustrated parent, didnt have issues til 6 months ago. This is my biggest problem is being seen at my appointment time. This is ridiculous. I will never use kool smiles ever again because this is the worst customer ever. When I signed in, I kept hearing about the computer being down, but not once did the lady for ortho at the desk ever say that. Then a patient signed in after me but got to go in before my daughter. This is bs. Disappointed in koolsmiles lack of customer service that they had 6 months ago.

Kool Smiles dentist appointment

I was taking my grandson to his 1:00 appt. this afternoon to get a cavity filled. The lady at the front counter informed me that since I wasn't his legal guardian and his mom hadn't signed a consent form for this year, he wouldn't be able to be seen today. He was just at the same office last week for a cleaning, and a couple more times earlier in the year. I explained to her that my daughter has been hospitalized 4 times in the last 6 weeks and is unable to come out of the house. Needless to say, I will be finding a new place to take him that will be more understanding in certain situations.

Kool Smiles orthodontist service

I had an appointment scheduled at 9am. We waited 30 mins, went to find out how long the wait is, only to find out that they were in a huddle. Wtf. Whats the purpose in scheduling an appointment. This location should only be walk ins only, thats how the treat scheduled appointments. This makes no sense, I have to be at work so i can pay for these braces on my son's teeth. I really hate coming here. There are only 2 patients being seeing for othro care, so why the wait. Its ironic that after i complained they call my son and the second patient who is also waiting. I really wish i would have went with Great Expressions to provide dental service for my boys. Disgusted.

Kool Smiles ortho dental services

They cancelled appt the day before stating they closed for unforeseen reasons. I went again for braces fixed on daughter and they wanted to start new contract without refunding/rolling my money to new contract, they never performed services and cancelled appts. Office gave contract to remove braces as they suggested, but contract stated I requested and released them of liability. Office staff is rude.

Kool Smiles dentist

I brought my daughter for regular 6 months check on her teeth today. She is autistic and she is non verbal five years old. The dentist was examing her mouth and of course she wasnt happy about it she doesnt like anyone to be in her mouth. So he was so rough and pressed so hard with that tool that he caused one of her teeth to come out. I informed the hygentist that the dentist made her tooth come out . She was very apologetic and asked if I knew where the tooth was I informed her I didnt. Another hygentist found the tooth stuck on the chair that the dentist was sitting in. I guess when he caused the tooth to fly out of her mouth and on to the chair he was sitting in. I will never bring either of my kids back to kool smiles. I would suggest that you all get dentist that can work with special needs kids with out causing their teeth to come out of their mouths.

Kool Smiles billing

My son was previously a patient at Koop Smiles in Metairie. My insurance informed me that my dental was covered at 100%, yet I still received a bill from Koop Smiles. I contacted my insurance company and they said that they received incomplete paperwork from Kool Smiles. I contacted Kool Smiles, who informed me that they would resubmit completed paperwork. After contacting my insurance and going through this process about 3 times. I just decided to pay the bill out of frustration and fear of this being reported negatively on my credit. After making he payment and contacting Kool Smiles to be sure that I had a zero balance, I just received a second phone call from IC Debt collecting agency. I contacted Kool Smiles who assured me that I had a zero balance and this would be taken care of, but after seeing these reviews, of others with the same problem I have little hope. I am at the point of wanting to contact an attorney and file legal charges because this company is taking advantage of hard working people and their insurance companies.

Kool Smiles ortho dental services

My daughter started seeing Ortho services at Kool Smiles after they stated they could do braces with Chips Ins. After going they stated they didn't and I would have to pay by setting up auto draft and $300 to put the braces on. Each followup appt was cancelled or they wanted $400 to pull a babytooth after braces were installed. Everytime I called to ask questions about the cancellation the ortho biller never returned my call or was available. December I cancelled the auto draft through the company that was debiting my acct. I'm told I can't be refunded so I made an appointment in Tyler, Tx in which I was informed today, a day prior to treatment, that I can't get a refund and can only use $250 of what I've paid to remove the braces. No refund is available and now once again the appointment is moved to May 2nd. Their services are unprofessional and unethical. I will also be filing a complaint with the state of Texas. My daughter is having issues with their braces and poor services. Also according to the Sherman office their Orthodontist are not registered to perform services through the Chips program. So they're using this as advertisement to redirect you to self pay. ...unethical

Kool Smiles service

Hi my name is Adrienne Stokes and i have 4 children that I bring to the Kool smiles on Broadway in Baltimore, Maryland. Everytime that I bring my kids here every 6 months i always get pushed to the back even though I am at the appointment 15 minutes early. Just like I am here now was here at 7:50 for my appointment at 8. They have allowed 6 childry who came in after us to be seen before mines. Called one of my children in and now I have to wait because someone got to register us. I have been bringing my children here for 8 years and the service is getting better. This is the closest location to my home and I am always disappointed with their service. If you have any questions I can be contacted at [protected].

Thank you

Kool Smiles appointments and waiting

When you schedule any appoitment you expect to be seen sooner not like 45 to a hour later. Its only for braces. I have never had an issue until we had to come to different locations for a appointment. I just dont get why, why schedule appointments if it will take so long. If your going to schedule appointments thats fine but atleast have the curiosity to let thr parents know while we sit and wait in frustration

Kool Smiles cleaning

I took my boys to the 1 in Roanoke Va. The lady that assisted my 14 year old told him his gums where dead and his teeth looked like crap. She was very unprofessional. The dr. told my 18 year old he needs a root canal even though his roots are dead. He told her to just go ahead and pull it instead. That's when she told him she went to school and knows what needs to be done. The staff there is always in a hurry and seems to not care for the patients are their families. Needless to say my kids wait go back. After that day I got them a new dentist. No kid should be scared to go to the dentist.

Kool Smiles the ridiculous wait time just to see a dentist

I have been waiting well over an hour to see a dentist. I call for an emergency appointment. I shared my active insurance information over the phone. I leave work to make my appointment on time. I get to the office and explain to them that I'm in unbearable pain, they have me waiting now for well over an hours in pain. They explain that their process to verify insurance is through a 3rd party and can take up to 30min. Well, it's been 1 1/2 hours and I'm still in the cold lobby waiting in pain. All they can say is, sorry that's our process. I will never ever recommend anyone to come Kool Smiles...it's simply RIDICULOUS

Kool Smiles billing

I received a bill for a check-up with one x-ray on my daughter. Blue cross blue shield confirm that they cover 100%. So why am I still getting billed? I've received 2 emails stating that I need to pay my bill now. Each time I have replied with they need to contact blue cross blue shield. I am very upset!
The hispanic woman at the front desk on i-40 and bell in amarillo texas scanned the card in when we checked in for the appointment. Then she confirmed at the desk (Before my daughter was even seen) that blue cross blue shield will cover 100%.
I would sincerely appreciate it if you would take care of this bill, seeing as though blue cross blue shield covered 100%!
Any more harassing emails and I will take legal action!

Kool Smiles crown procedure refund

I have paid for the root canal procedure up front the dentist finished the first half which is the surgery and now he refuses to see me at the time that is convenient for me.
He and the falls church office never mentioned that for a crown procedure there are only 8:00 am appointments and 9:00 am appointment which are both impossible times for me to make I requested a 10;00 am appointment at any date . But the dentist and the office refused completely and offered a 9:30 appointment 7 days from now.
There attitude was totally unacceptable as the dentist mentioned I should figure out what I have to deal with in the morning and come at the times he mentioned and the customer service supervisor said the same offering a 9:30 appointment or else if I ll be canceled .
They kept on lecturing me about he fact that whatever it is ai bave yo deal with on the morning I need to figure out a way around it and make it in the times that they mentioned which is totally unacceptable this personal information and none of they business and this is not professional at all. I request to get a refund for the crown procedure that seems not to ever happen since the dentist refuses to see me at 10 am and there was no mention from the very beginning that these appointment times are the only ones available to get the crown done or else I would have looked for another dentist office .

Kool Smiles two crowns, filling, periodontal root planing and scaling, and a tooth extraction

I was talk into getting two Crowns. I was told that I had early stages of gum disease which required the periodontal root scaling. And I had a tooth extraction and a cyst developed where the tooth use to be. One of the crowns are still sensitive even after having it for a year. I was told that for the two crowns I would only have to pay half the cost because insurance would cover half. That was a lie I paid the half which equaled $1500; ten months later I received a bill for the other half $1500. Which totaled over $3, 000 dollars. "I DO NOT TRUST THEIR SERVICES ANYMORE, NOR DO I TRUST THE INDIVIDUAL THAT WORK THERE. KOOL SMILE IS RUSH THEM AND WRING THEM FOR EVERY DIME AND HANG OUT TO DRY SO CALLED DENTAL COMPANY!"

Kool Smiles dental cleaning

My son went in for a cleaning and xrays on Saturday January 14, 2017. They did xrays, cleaned his teeth, and poked around in his mouth. He woke up on January 15, 2017 with his jaw swollen. Took him to the doctor and a different dentist. They admitted him to the hospital. He had gotten an infection from his cleaning he got from kool smiles. They had to pull 5 baby teeth to drain the infection. He had to stay 3 days in the hospital. Very very scary when a healthy 8 year old has such a bad infection from getting his teeth cleaned from a suppose to be good dentist office.

I went back I. March for a tooth he sat for hr in waitj g room they then took me to back roo. A d sat for another half hr they finally took a xray then I sat for another half hr. Finally dentist comes over shows me xray says I need to teeth pulled. Made me a appointment for 5 weeks later and gave me antibiotics and pain med for two weeks and I said I have to wait this long and this is all the medication I get. And she smiled and said it should be okay I am in terrible pain that's why I am here. So now she gives me my appointment and says see you in 5 weeks. We'll 5weeks now I go back to get teeth pulled and get there 15 minutes early she hands me forms again to fill out. I fill out and sit down. She calls me back up laughing to her other secretary not looking at me and says oh the dentist that's suppose to pull your teeth isn't here. Then says hold on so I sit back down and she calls me back up and laughs again and says oh he is here today so you can ha e your teeth pulled and it's a hr drive to get to Kool smiles from where I live. So she tells me sit down and wait. So ten minutes later she calls me back up and says how are you paying today and I say excuse me you have not told me anything about a price and they both laugh as I feel humility she says I need 248.00 and I say you never told me I needed to bring any money and you never explained what my insurance covered and didn't cover. And again they laugh and she says well no money then we can't pull your teeth. I am just dumbfounded that they never said a word about any of this at my first appointment. So now We drove a hour for nothing I am in severe pain and she tells me when you have money come back what kind of place does this.

This is an ongoing problem. I took my daughter to the dentist on January 7, 2017. I was told because of the new year, I have not yet reached my deductible and had to pay an out of pocket fee. The receptionist came back and stated that it would be an additional fee for service. I paid the fee. The following week, I received a call that stated that she needed a follow-up and arranged an appointment. She went on to announce the insurance that I have and I mentioned that there is a primary and a secondary insurance. She stated that there is only one listed. I informed her that there are 2 listed on the patient information form and as well as having both at the appointment. I have called since January 23, 2017 to have them add the secondary insurance and bill them. I have been told that they do not bill a secondary insurance, only to talk to someone at the call center that say they do. Every time I call, I am instructed to call back in a few days. As of today, February 7th, I was told that it only takes 1 to 2 days to verify the secondary insurance, which has not been done and AGAIN, told to call back in a few days. And on top of this, I received a bill for service for January 7th.

I am so sorry this happened to your son. My little man had a traumatic experience at Kool Smiles in Orangeburg, SC last year. He went in for a cleaning and fillings. The dentist was MEAN, and would not listen to me at all when told them what had worked with him previously. She, instead, had 2 assistants help strap him to a cradle board. A third assistant then held him down with a towel across his forehead. They kicked me out of the room because he and I were both "too upset". I sat outside of the room and listened to my son scream as they forced him to get the work done. While they were "working", I spoke with the manager, and complained about the dentist who was working on my son. When that dentist came out of the room, she told me to never bring my son back there, because he was too "uncooperative". He was FIVE and very afraid due to being man-handled as they did. I filed complaints with both the Kool Smiles corporate office and the office where this happened. I was blown off by both, and my phone calls and emails went unanswered. I did receive a nice bill for work that had not been done tho, which I refuse to pay. Since this ordeal, my son is very anxious about going to the dentist, and has to undergo oral surgery at the hospital in order to have ANY procedure done. In my opinion, Kool Smiles needs to be under heavy investigation, and should pay restitution to the children they have injured and traumatized. I will NEVER recommend a Kool smiles dentist to anyone looking for pediatric dentistry.
