Tepid Customer Service
Ordered from Leafside to have meals to take with me on an upcoming business trip. When the shipment was 2 days late, with USPS still showing it was "in transit" but no defined location, I reached out to Leafside with my concern. I also expressed concern that they would use an unreliable delivery partner like the USPS. Here was their response (take note of the fact that they told me what I already knew AND if I wanted a more reliable delivery experience, I would have to be the one to pay for it!):
"Thank you for reaching out.
It looks like your order is "in Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late". We believe the weather around this area may be causing these delays.
f your order continues to be delayed we may be able to open a claim with USPS but it must be after 15 plus days of delay.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
We ship our orders with USPS Priority Mail or FedEx One Rate depending on your specific location and the size of your order.
Typically, we ship with the carrier that is more economical since we cover the majority of shipping fees. If you have a preference in which carrier is used for your packages, we can note this on your account if you'd be willing to pay any difference in fees that may occur.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We appreciate you!"
None of this shows the appreciation they mention!
Unless these meals are amazingly spectacular, and if I ever receive them, this will be my first and last order with group!
Recommendation: Don't expect a quick delivery or great customer service
Nausea and bad tasting foods
I ordered this because of Dr. Gregors recommendation, I guess I should have looked up reviews first. Spend over $100, food isn't very good (it's dehydrated, so shouldn't be a surprise), and I had strong nausea after multiple of their meals. Oh, and they kind of force you to pick a subscription, so remember to cancel that, I didn't so I'm out another $100 for food that's going to go right in the trash.
Disappointing Experience with LeafSide's Vegan Meals: A Review
I gotta say, I was pretty let down by LeafSide. I gave it a shot and tried out three of their meals, but two of them ended up in the trash. The flavor was just not my cup of tea - it was way too spicy for my taste buds, and that's coming from someone who usually loves a good kick in their food. My partner and I have been vegan for four years now, so we know our way around plant-based cuisine, but these meals just didn't cut it for us.
Honestly, I think I'll just stick to cooking my own creations from now on. It's a shame, because I was really hoping to find a convenient and tasty meal delivery service, but LeafSide just didn't deliver. Maybe it's just not for me, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a flavorful vegan meal.
Disappointing Taste and Small Portions: My Experience with LeafSide
So, I decided to give LeafSide a try because I wanted to eat healthier. I ordered a bunch of their savory bowls, hoping to find something tasty and nutritious. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with what I got. I ended up throwing away most of the meals, which is not something I usually do. I even cancelled my subscription because I just couldn't stomach the thought of eating any more of their food.
The biggest issue I had with LeafSide was the taste. I mean, come on, food should taste good, right? But these meals were just plain awful. They were bland, flavorless, and just generally unappetizing. I tried adding some spices and sauces to see if I could salvage them, but nothing seemed to work. I was really hoping for something that would be both healthy and delicious, but unfortunately, LeafSide just didn't deliver.
Another problem I had with LeafSide was the portion sizes. They were pretty small, which was disappointing considering the price. I felt like I was paying a lot of money for not a lot of food. And since the food didn't taste good, it just wasn't worth it for me.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend LeafSide. While I appreciate their commitment to healthy eating, I think they need to work on making their food taste better. If you're looking for healthy meals that actually taste good, there are plenty of other options out there.
LeafSide Meal Review: Decent Taste, But Instructions Need Revision
So, I tried out LeafSide's meal and I gotta say, the taste was alright. But, I gotta point out that the instructions were a bit off. They said to cover the meal with boiling water, put on the lid and let it sit for 10 minutes. But, when I tried it out, the beans were still pretty hard. I had to add some more water and let it sit for another 5 minutes. Even then, it was still a bit crunchy. I didn't have the time to wait any longer, so I just went ahead and ate it.
I think the instructions need a bit of revision. Maybe they could add some more details on how much water to add or how long to let it sit. It would definitely make it easier for people like me who are not that experienced in cooking.
Overall, I would say that LeafSide's meal was decent. But, they need to work on their instructions to make it more user-friendly.
LeafSide Review: Fresh, Eco-Friendly Vegan Meals Delivered to Your Doorstep
that I order them every week. The ingredients are fresh and the portions are just right. I also appreciate that they use eco-friendly packaging. The only downside is that they don't have a physical store near me, so I have to order online and wait for delivery. But it's worth it! I highly recommend LeafSide to anyone looking for healthy and tasty vegan food.
Leafside Review: Great Concept, Terrible Taste - Not Recommended for Foodies
Leafside is a great idea, I mean, who wouldn't want to eat Whole Food Plant Based meals that contain the Daily Dozen recommended by Michael Greger? But let me tell you, the taste is just terrible. It's like they went overboard with the spices and mixed them in such a weird way. I mean, I would have given it a zero-star rating if I could, but unfortunately, you have to give it at least one star. The only reason I gave it one star is because it's convenient. You just pour a pack into a bowl, add 1-1/2 cups boiling water, and let it sit for 10 minutes. That's it. But if you don't stir it well enough, you end up with partially rehydrated chunks in your bowl.
I placed my first order and I'm glad I have a whole month to cancel my subscription. I've tried other services like Hungryroot, and while they may not be as healthy unless you modify the meals (like eliminating the oil in their recipes), and they may not be as convenient, but at least they taste good. Leafside is like camping food, easy to prepare freeze-dried food. All I need to go with it is a glass of Tang.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend Leafside unless you're really desperate for convenience and don't care about taste. It's a shame because the concept is great, but the execution is just not there.
Transform Your Health with Leafside: My Honest Review of Their Meal Subscription Service
I was one of those people who gained weight during the pandemic, but thanks to Leafside, I was able to shed most of it in just a few months. Let me tell you, the benefits of Leafside are truly amazing, but there are also some downsides to it. For instance, some of the savory bowls are packed with fiber and can be quite "dense". The first time I tried one, my stomach swelled up and I had terrible gas. But hey, that's just part of the package, right? And honestly, it's not all bad. In fact, it's actually a great advantage because it's so filling and flavorful.
When you're on a diet, it can be super depressing to feel like you're only eating bland and unsatisfying foods. But with Leafside, that's not the case at all. Whenever I'm feeling really hungry, I just whip up a savory bowl or soup and it hits the spot every time. Of course, I've learned to "handle" the meals by only eating a third to half a bowl for one meal and saving the rest for later. And I always make sure to take a beano pill for the gas.
I'm subscribed to Leafside now and I get a box of about 20 meals delivered to my door. In addition to the savory bowls, there are also smoothies, sweet bowls, and soups. I honestly feel like Leafside has changed my life for the better because the meals are so healthy and nutritious. Each one contains many of the "daily dozen" foods and they're super easy to prepare. All I have to do is pour boiling water on the bowls/soups or blend up the smoothies. It's that simple.
Thanks to Leafside, I've been able to lose almost all the weight I gained during the pandemic while also improving my overall health. I plan to continue using their meal subscription service indefinitely because the meals are such a great value. They're packed with excellent ingredients and they're so filling. (And like I said earlier, the savory bowls last me for a few meals!) If you're looking for a healthy and delicious way to lose weight, I highly recommend giving Leafside a try. You won't regret it!
LeafSide Review: Delicious Sweet Bowls and Smoothies, But Some Meals Lack Taste
I've been a vegetarian for as long as I can remember, and recently, I've switched to a whole foods plant-based no oils (WFPBNO) diet for the past six months. While I find it easy to cook nutritious meals that comply with my diet, I also love the convenience of having pre-made meals. That's why I was thrilled to discover LeafSide, the only service out there that is truly compliant with WFPBNO. Not only are their meals compliant, but they also use a lot of organic ingredients, which is a huge plus for me.
LeafSide offers a variety of nutritious foods that are perfect for rounding out anyone's diet. Even if you try your best to eat a variety of foods, chances are you won't be able to match the variety that LeafSide offers. However, I have to admit that some of their meals lack taste. For example, I recently tried their potato leek soup, and I considered dumping it three times. I tried adding spices, salt, and even soy milk, but nothing could fix the taste. It was one of the saddest meal experiences I've ever had, and I'm usually willing to eat almost anything in the name of health.
Most of the meals that include tomato taste like they added smokey sun-dried tomato to all of them, regardless of whether it called for smokey flavor or not. I thought the penne would be a favorite, but it was a disappointment. The alfredo was also rubbery, and the tex-mex lacked flavor. However, I did enjoy the mushroom forest, which is probably the only savory meal I would repeat.
On the other hand, the sweet stuff is delicious. Making smoothies and oatmeal is vegan 101, but LeafSide takes it to the next level by adding ingredients like vegetables and beans that are hard to include successfully in a sweet bowl or smoothie. Plus, they include zero added sugar. The sweet bowls are good, but they lack 'umph' and feel flat. However, they're easy to spice up with cinnamon, and they somehow get better as you eat them. The smoothies are AMAZING! I added the required liquid amount in ice and soy milk, and I couldn't believe how tasty they were. I wish they'd make more smoothies because this is where they shine.
Overall, I will keep supporting LeafSide because I love the concept and want to help make sure they stay in business. However, I gave them three stars because half of their offering lacks taste. I hope they continue to improve, and above all, I hope they make more smoothies that I can get away with calling dinner.
