couches
I went and bought couches from Lewis stores in Meyerton on credit. Before i paid the deposit of R1000. 00 They never explained all the extra cost interest ect to. I asked the ladies if the deliver and they just said yes they can. Afterwards they only told me that i need to pay R840 for delivery fees and now that the grand total for R10000 couches is R25900.
I then went back to store today just after 1 o clock and told them i no longer want them and i want to cancle the arrangement. They first tried to convince me in taking them but i stood by my decision. They then said they will send someone aroun 16:30 to fetch the couches. It is now 18:37 and still aren't here. I don't know what the reason is but now I am scared that they will wait till 5 days have passed and then refuse the refund.
They also said i can not get my deposit back after i cancle the arrangement with them. Please assit in helping me. Date i signed for the arrangement was 27 th July day canceled was 30 th July.
Kind regards
Angelique
bad services
On the 2nd of May 2018 we went to our local Lewis store here in Lichtenburg to look at furniture so we decided to purchase 2 X Madrid 3 seater couches plus there ottomans (contract [protected]) they promise that we will receive it the following day but it took a week before we get it. When we received it, it was damaged, so we went back to the branch and speak to the manager, she promised that she will replace the 2 couches but she will have to get it from another branch, we couldn't wait any longer so we decided to take another lounge suite instead.
On 10 May 2018 we purchased a Santana 4pce Lounge suite (light grey), we actually wanted a light brown one but they said they couldn't find one at any one of their stores. They send this new one to our house again, when they deliver it the arm rest was damaged because it was stacked on top of each other in the store, so the sponges of the arm rests was dented and it doesn't look nice. I did mention it on the delivery note when they deliver it but nobody contact me about the issue. We went to the branch again and ask them what they are going to do about the problem and they said the will look for another set there is 3 of the in Zeerust, they will go ant fetch it the following day but since our visit at the branch nobody contact us again. It is almost as if we are at a dead end regarding this problem - no response from nobody.
I feel that we wasn't treated fairly, I hope that someone will help ut so receive what we pay for
After a few phone calls we have received another lounge suite with the same problem. At the delivery, they opened the couches in our living room and the same problem appears, when they open it I show to the delivery people the sponge of the arm rests is dented too, they agree with me and said they will take it back, we even called the store, the delivery people talked to assistant manager and she agreed that they should take it back, she said she will try to find another one at some other store. At the moment we have only two chairs at home to sit on.
Saturday morning some lady from your head office phoned me and ask it they helped me and I tells her the whole story, she said she will phone me back in 5 minutes time bur she never called back.
Can you now please arrange with your local Lewis stores to please come and fetch the two remaining chairs we don't want it any more.
If I can make an suggestion, ask your stores not to stag the lounge suite on top of each other you are causing your own damage.
my blaupunkt 55" uhd led tv
I bought a blaupunkt 55" uhd led from your Simon's town branch on the 20/04/2018. The t. v was working great, up until Monday the 11/06/2018 when I noticed a thin blue line on the left of my screen. I have read the manual and tried changing the picture mode but nothing happens. I sent your customer care an email on Monday already and is still waiting on their reply. I tried calling them 3 times today but not once was put thru to a consultant. This t. v is not even 2 months old and already giving me problems.
Hope to get a speedy reply
Very disappointed customer.

incorrect radio received, incomplete chester of draws, delayed delivery with no communication
So on Tuesday 05 June 2018, I went to Lewis Protea Glen. I opened an account. I was at the store for over two hours.
Once the account was approved I decided to buy a Blunkpunt 32inch TV, and a 5 draw chester of draws. I asked the sales lady who was assisting me her name is Cecilia about a dvd player, she advised us take a Panasonic radio, which she said it has DVD, CD, RADIO, USB and it was black, which I was happy cos I wanted a DVD player.
Of all the three things I bought, I was told only the TV is currently available at the store however I can take the Radio on display which I refused. then they said the radio is on its way from Eldorado park. and the chester of draws will be available the next day 06/06/2018. I decided I will fetch both the products on Saturday 09/06/2018 as we come home late during the week.
Saturday came, the chester of draws is not available, Martha which I think is the manager phoned on Saturday morning as we were about to go to the store to collect, she advised that she will make a plan to have it delivered on Sunday. they gave us the radio, when we got home the radio is "WHITE" in colour and does not have a DVD player! we phone Martha, she told us they were about to close so we went on Sunday - which now were spending our weekend at LEWIS! NOT FAIR!
We got there and found a guy called Stanley who told us that both Martha and Cecilia are not available, its weekend there is no one to authorise the JVC hometheatre we are now offered. He can only bring it for us on Monday after hours. I agreed as there was not much choice. Still on Sunday, the chester of draws arrived with no handles on the drawers!, the delivery guys said its a "factory fault" however they will come and fix it. its Tuesday, the 12/06/2018 today, we still waiting for it to be fixed.
The JVC hometheatre was delivered last night 11/06/2018 at about 7:30 pm, with no contract / amended contract, and its cash price is R 100 less that the Panasonic. The contract I have has the Panasonic radio and not the JVC. HOW DOES IT WORK? AM I SUPPOSE TO KEEP GOING TO YOUR STORE AGAIN FOR A NEW / AMENDED CONTACT? THE LEVEL OF SERVICE I RECEIVED IS DISGUSTING TO SAY THE LEAST - FOR A COMPANY THAT HAS BEEN OPERATING FOR SO LONG! I WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANYTHING AT THAT PROTEA GLEN BRANCH ANY MORE.
I NEED TO KNOW WHEN THE CHESTER OF DRAWS WILL BE FIXED, AND WHEN WILL I RECEIVE AN AMENDED CONTRACT.
I AWAIT YOUR RESPONSE

television set
I bought a television set and settled it before 6 months then after a year the set just stopped working and I had a maintenance contract with it. Called in lewis Roodepoort then took the TV there and within 3 weeks no call or feedback from them unless I called, Rebecca would always say she will call me but never efficient then she called me after weeks telln me that the person fixing the tv cannot be found on his phone and ordered equipment for the tv, after another week she called to tell me that the guy was unable to fix it and she will order a new tv that I must come and choose last week Thursday, its Wednesday today I called and left her a message yesterday to call me back she never did and today I call but I'm told she is not there, I'm highly dissatisfied with the service and will not be referring any of my friends to buy there, I do not even want to take anything with the credit they keep giving me because its obvious that they use people for their gain and do not care bout customers
refund payment / purchasing a product (zink) and now want to be reimbursed
On 2018-04-16, I Mamello Leburu purchased goods at Lewis Stores, situated at 47 Du Toitspan Roads, Kimberley, to the value of R 2 000-00. It was a sink that was purchased but when i received the goods, we were not satisfied with the product and returned it. the sales Ladies name is Maria and i often dealt with the Credit Manager who's name i don't know. They do not have customer etiquette as they each and every day have a different story to refund me. Can you please intervene and let the store call me on [protected] or [protected]
i'm not a customer, but they keep calling me.
Good day My name is Rezell van Coller, from Kleinnond western cape.I've never had an account with Lewis, my ex boyfriend did.He is currently in Prison as I've told your representives already a thousand times, but the store keeps sending messages and calls me.I don't have any contact with Ivirno Kotella due to personal reasons, but now they harras me .
unethical behaviour
alice mk2 4 piece cocoa suite
I bought a 4piece sofas set from Lewis stores around about November/December 2016. Had a full payment clear history of which i have paid more than my monthly installements and which i have settle my account earlier than the due date.
After expiriencing trouble with the sofas, i filled a complaint in January and two sofas was picked and 'fixed' and had returned on 3de February. Which i was told the other two would be picked up the following Monday as the work shop was full. Nothing happended, after numerous calls and insiting on service, which i as a customer fully deserved. The other two set was collected for repairs about a month later dated 20April. Till date it has not been returned, and i have not been i formed about any developement whatsoever. Instead of providing assitance, i was told not to call for inquiries as the set will be completed when they have time to do so. I informed them that the first set was not restored to my satisfaction as it seemed like old springs was placed in it, as it came back worse than what it was.
Apart from the poor customer service that i have expirience with the store, rude employees such as Hendrico du Plessis, Leanne, Charlotte - which had promise me feedback i had to dealt with as well.
Hendrico, assisting with the complaints - had been the worst. As per telephonic and personal discussions being rude and ending my phone calls during conversations. With reffernce to this, call dated 14May2018 16:19 lasted for 56min - this specific person through down the phone in my ear after shouting "Ag jy's maar net 'n kind."
Should i remind this store that i am a customer, being it 16, 25, 50years. My money is held at this store and i am an account holder. Due to my account payment, Lewis stores finances it's expenses and pays its employees.
Customer service and telephone etiquitte is what these people lack.
As a customer a turn around time for a complaint should be resolved within 21days, but this store takes 5months, probably more.
Therefore i demand of higher management to intervene and provide effective and satisfying feedback instead of working with unpolite amituers.
I trust that i would hear from you soon as im sick of waiting and dealing with these people. My complaint about the poor pathetic customer service will be heard by the news papers as well.
the sales people doesn't want to help me!
Hi, when I went to Lewis Stores, just to.look around, the manager and an other lady said, all I need for opening an account is my payslip en bank statement with my id and proof of address. That was last year. So January I started to work again after we were retrenched in last year and I went again with my 2 payslips and 2 bank statements and then the manager said no, it must be 3 payslips ans bank statements. So end of April I went again with 3 payslips and bank statements, she had said to me. But now she said I am in arrears with Absa bank and Standard bank. So now is my question, how must everything been paid up to date if you were retrenched? I am also permanently the manager of a cash loans company and just want to buy a Dishwasher for R400 a month.
Can you please help me?
dstv package
Good morning
I bought a couple of items at Lewis store Ekurhuleni (Springs) 2years ago, they added a Dstv package of which I never purchased and it wasn't delivered. For years I have been paying for something of which I never received nor purchased. I then went to the store and I explained everything to them, I was told to go to the police station and do an affidavit. I submitted it to the store manager and she said I will be contacted soon. I waited for months and when I went back there they said she resigned and I never heard from them until today.
Kind regards,

unethical behaviour
2016/07/04 A lady from Lewis Stores Vanderbijlpark by the name of Leta, called my workplace, got through to my colleageu as i'm currently in hospital, told my colleague to inform me that she is reporting a criminal case against me as i'm owing an amount of R2000 on my account and not taking calls, my colleague tried explaining that i'm in hospital, however the lady kept on going on that police will come and fetch me from work. i don't know what company has the right to just expose my personal and private details like that to my colleague, i feel so disrepected and belittled by such behaviour of exposing a customer's details to the outside world, My details with them should be private and confidential, i called the store to speak to the lady she told me its not her problem that i'm in hospital and just need to hand my house keys to someone for them to collect their goods, i mean i only had this account for 4 months, i have other accounts that i've been paying for years but have never experienced such harrasment, more especially in the condition that i am in.
misleading contract
My husband went to your athlone store to get a bed and a mat for us as we were on the verge of getting married. That was in March this year. The bed, the mat and the contract was delivered but it was the incorrect mat was delivered so they had to take it back. The mat he originally asked for was no longer available, so he had the mat cancelled and they said they would have to print out a new contract. We were married and living in the house already before the new contract came. By then he had already paid R 1028.00 which then needed to be credited to the new contract ( which was never explained to him, after I did a contract enquiry it was only uncovered ). According to his contract, his monthly instalment, including interest, fees, and insurance is R343.40. So according to us thats all we need to pay. We have been paying more than requested in the contract. Only to find out now that on the fifth of every month additional fees will be debited to his account, those additional fees are, interest, service fees and insurance. ( but according to his contract all those fees are included in the monthly instalment, which means we a double billed). When we queried in the store, the manager very bluntly told us he cant help us as the system doesnt allow him to pull up any contract information and that was it. I then decided to call customer service due to the crappy way the store has treated us. We got threw to the call centre who then said they will investigate the matter. Later that night I asked my husband why he took out insurance on the bed, if its stolen then so be it. He then said he didnt take out any insurance. I read out his contract to him. He then said that the consultant never explained the contract to him nor asked if he wanted insurance. All they sais was that he should sign on the two pages. So now we want the insurance cancelled and the money reimbursed to us, due to a misleading contract.
harassment of customers over debt owed
I received a call from my sister this morning, and she informed me that a lady by the name of Charmaine and a certain gentleman from Lewis store (Benoni) had come to see her concerning her outstanding debt. Let me put it to you that my sister (Andile Precious Tshoaedi) has not been paying her monthly instalments for the past 3 months like she is supposed to. Furthermore, she changed the address of where she was living and did not notify Lewis of this. Today, she got a visit at work from Charmaine and the gentleman in question and they were demanding that she pay the monthly instalment right there on the spot. They even threatened to report the matter to the police. Scared as she was, she then called me immediately and notified me. When I asked to speak to Charmaine, the lady in question refused point blank and continued to harass my sister. I was going to let her know that the money will be paid on Monday, but she was very uncooperative and clearly rude to my sister. Now, I want to know if this kind of behaviour is acceptable and what can my sister as a consumer do about this?
A lady from lewis Vanderbijlpark and 2 of her associates came to my house today and threatened to sell all my stuff to pay for my boyfriends debt and then said that I had to go and take out a loan to pay them cash when I said that I don't have money to pay an account that does not belong to me.
i was also harrassed...where can we report this matter urgently?

new 2 month old mattress damaged
I purchased a new matrass from this store. After 2 months it was damaged at the seams. I reported this and got a answer of 'we have 14 days to respond' This is unexceptable they did not wait 14 days for my money. I reported this 2 weeks ago still nobody contacted me visited me to look at the damage. I am a pensioner and do not want to sleep on this damaged matrass. All I want is either my money back or a replacement, instead I am getting a dont care attetude that I do not deserve. This is the fist time I made use of Lewis and it will be the last for sure. I have also informed everybody that I know about this attitude of the staff and complaints dept.
disturbing phone call
Lewis Stores sent Mr Simons to Mom to arrange Payment . He asked if we can increase the payment amount of R500 to R600 as from end January, it was agreed upon. Today 8th of January my Mom received a phone call from this Ravonia, She was extremely rude and had a very bad attitude, she would not give my mom a chance to speak and shouted to her, ' i quote', 'No you will listen to me' when my MOm asked her to give her a chance to speak. This is not professional and not acceptable, yes i understand that the account is in arreas but she is paying, when i was working we paid in excess of R1000 a month. I just feel that it was not necessary for her to be so rude.

(the magager kept on giving me false stories, no delivery van, he needs to speak to his manager...) finally it was taken & the correct furniture was delivered to my shock, they gave me a demo model that was damaged badly. I reported it on 2609, they have still not taken it back, I have paid Cash for this. Disappointed. Lewis Stores lenasia, stop selling used furniture as new to the clients, be honest.
