The Lipton Toyota at 1700 W Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311 is the worst dealership in Florida
The Lipton Toyota at 1700 W Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311 is the worst dealership in Florida. I had the worst experience from the start when I leased a vehicle in 2019 until now in 2021 during every service. I got the lease with all the coverage, especially rental car assistance. Today, when my car battery died (in just 2 years), they refused to replace or check it. They told me to find a battery elsewhere because they don't have any, and they don't know when they'll have one, maybe in 3 months, 6 months, or even a year. When I asked for a rental car as an alternative, they said they don't have any. The staff, from the base level to the top General Manager of Servicing, was rude. Later, I found the battery at Advanced Auto Parts, and now I have to apply for reimbursement from Toyota. I recommend everyone to be cautious of this Lipton Toyota dealership.
I wouldn't go back to this dealership even if I had to pay more somewhere else
I wouldn't go back to this dealership even if I had to pay more somewhere else. It was a pretty bad experience. I bought a used Altima. I won't go into every detail, but watch out for surprise fees in your sales contract. Besides the many issues during the negotiation process (the price I was quoted the day before wasn't honored and the manager, ***, said he never promised me that price). I got a few freebies as compensation, but not enough to make up for the price difference.
But the finance manager, ***, added an 'origination fee' of almost $1000 and a 'new car replacement fee' of $400, and tried to tell me that TD Auto finance requires them. I was dead tired when I signed the contract and had a headache. They know how to tire you out and make you doubt yourself. After I looked over everything the next day and realized the whole contract was wrong and the final price was much higher than what we agreed upon, I told them to rewrite the contract and remove all the fees I didn't agree to. Two days later when I came back, surprisingly, the new contract didn't have this origination fee - even though I never questioned it. I believed it was a valid fee. After signing the new contract, I called TD Auto Finance and found out that a car replacement fee is completely optional and this bank doesn't charge loan origination fees. These people are lucky I didn't make a copy of that first contract. They would have had a hard time explaining a $1000 fake fee to the Attorney General. But how many other people end up paying this fee without realizing it's fake? It's one thing to charge fake dealer fees, but adding it to the financing contract is a crime.
The windshield wasn't the original manufacturer's glass. It had been replaced with a lower quality windshield at some point and it was poorly attached. It also had a few small chips and one that was about to spread and cause cracks. I didn't notice these because I bought the car at night and that's my fault, but selling me a car with this kind of bad windshield says a lot about their standards. It was recently replaced and luckily my insurance covered the full cost, but it shouldn't have been necessary. Because if I get any windshield damage in the future, there will already be a claim that will affect my ability to get a free replacement. The guy who replaced it showed me that the previous one wasn't properly attached. I wouldn't recommend this experience to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

I sent a complaint like 2 months ago, but I ain't see it on the Lipton Toyota complaints list. Did ComplaintsBoard.com decide which complaints to show? It ain't fair to other folks who rely on these sites when they're car shopping. All consumer concerns should be posted, ya know?
I traded in my vehicle and they owed me a refund check for GAP insurance
I traded in my vehicle and they owed me a refund check for GAP insurance. They did not return any means of communication. I bought a new car in March and traded in my 2019 vehicle with gap insurance. I am owed a refund for that, which was promised when I signed the loan documents. However, I never received it. I have called and left numerous messages, emailed, and even chatted online with no response. I also emailed the general manager, but received no reply.
Lipton Toyota Service overcharges for service
Lipton Toyota Service overcharges for service. They charged me $400 to replace an auxiliary (12v) battery on my 2012 Toyota Prius in Jan 2021. I later found out that local shops like Midas, Meineke, and Mavis only charge $100 for the battery and $10 for service. Additionally, Lipton Toyota was going to charge me $2500 to replace the front and rear brakes, while local shops only charge $400 for the same service (installed). Overall, Lipton Toyota marks up its service and parts by about 400%, which is unacceptable. Shame on you Lipton Toyota.

We didn't get a contract to sign.on 9/18 the loan was refinance and a new agreement and the gap contract was signed and as commercial purposes. We had a total loss on 6/1 and had requested from the dealer *** Toyota a copy of the gap insurance contract we signed on the 9/18 .and a breakdown of the gap refund, they refused to give me such documents causing my claims to be denied with gap insurance company
On July 24, we bought a 2020 Toyota Corolla JTDEPRAE3LJXXXXXX with gap coverage. However, we didn't receive a contract to sign. Then, on September 18, the loan was refinanced and a new agreement, along with the gap contract, was signed for commercial purposes. Unfortunately, on June 1, we experienced a total loss and requested a copy of the gap insurance contract we signed on September 18, as well as a breakdown of the gap refund from the dealer, *** Toyota. However, they refused to provide us with these documents, which led to our claims being denied by the gap insurance company.
They gave me three different prices and made me sign each one
They gave me three different prices and made me sign each one. After we agreed on a fixed price and I transferred money from my bank, they suddenly decided to increase the price by thousands. They lied multiple times, were dishonest about the cost and terms of the loan, and refused to provide a definite interest rate. They told us to go get the down payment and return, so we did. However, when we came back, they informed us that the price we had signed and agreed upon was not what they would honor. They were deceitful, dishonest, and even ran my credit for things I didn't agree to in writing. At every step, they misrepresented themselves. I'm considering the fact that they were unwilling to help remove the hard inquiries, which they promised wouldn't affect my credit report. I'm pretty sure this violates my rights under the fair credit reporting act.
I bought a car from Lipton Toyota on 10/21 and paid $430
I bought a car from Lipton Toyota on 10/21 and paid $430. I had some issues, but let's not get into that. I also paid in advance for the monthly lease, and I negotiated to get that money back. They said I would get a check on 10/28. I went to pick it up, but it wasn't ready. I went a few days later, and still no check. Yesterday, on 11/05, they said it would be ready today, 11/06. So, I went today, but now they're saying it might take another week or so because they're closing their books for the end of the month. I don't care about their bookkeeping practices. I just want the check they promised me on 10/28. I don't think I should have to wait another week or longer, only to be told it's still not ready for some reason. They should keep their word, just like I reluctantly bought the car, which turned out to be worse than what I had before and nobody warned me about it.
I was at Lipton Toyota's website on June 5, 2022, and I waited for a whopping 5 hours to buy a vehicle
I was at Lipton Toyota's website on June 5, 2022, and I waited for a whopping 5 hours to buy a vehicle. The Finance manager, who I won't name here, met with me around 9:30 pm, way past closing time. By that point, I was dead tired and my brain was mush. To cut a long story short, the finance manager never gave me a detailed report of the purchase price before making me sign all the documents. On top of that, I asked if the papers I was signing were for gap insurance, and he said yes. But the next morning, when I looked through the paperwork, I realized that the finance person had added extra insurances that we never talked about. I called and emailed him right away, and I've sent more emails and left voicemails, but I haven't heard back from him. When I called last time, I asked to speak to his boss, but they transferred me to someone else's voicemail, and that person hasn't responded either (it's been 3 days now). The salesperson had told me that there was a $1000 incentive if I used their financing, which they had advertised online and confirmed. But there's no mention of that incentive on my paperwork.
Deception on the part of sellers when changing a rental car to a shopping car
Deception on the part of sellers when changing a rental car to a shopping car. Deceptive practices by salespeople and managers. In March , my wife and I went to get our truck serviced at Lipton Toyota. While waiting for our car, a salesperson approached us to discuss the rental situation. They explained that our truck lease wasn't suitable due to the mileage. They offered to exchange our car for a new one in a purchase. I made it clear that we would only accept the change if we didn't lose any money, to which the seller assured us that we wouldn't. However, this turned out to be untrue. During the car exchange, we ended up losing $10,000, and the $5,000 we put down for the down payment was never utilized. The salesperson and manager failed to inform us about the loss of $10,000 in the exchange, which I would have never agreed to. When signing the contract, the numbers were never explained properly. The truck was supposedly valued at $37,000, but the first invoice showed a payoff of $45,000, $6,000 higher than the purchase price, including the $10,000 from the other car. This was never disclosed to us. In summary, my wife and I lost over $15,000 in the process, including $10,000 from the value of our previous car and the $5,000 down payment.
Black 2015 Toyota Corolla with obscured VIN
Black 2015 Toyota Corolla with an obscured VIN. The current mileage is undisclosed. I bought it from Lipton Toyota dealership. I had some problems with the car recently. On or around 10/25/22, I called Lipton to explain the issue. They advised me to have the car towed to their location. I spoke with a representative to confirm if the battery was under warranty and to get permission to leave the vehicle without a storage fee until 11/3/22. They agreed to this arrangement. I also applied for dealership financing to open an account to help with the repair bill. The approval amount was determined, and the transaction process was initiated. The charge was made to Subit, resulting in an out-of-pocket cost and a down payment. On 10/27, the dealership informed me that the battery was dead due to a bad alternator and couldn't be recharged or repaired. However, they mentioned that the battery was under warranty, and they would install a new one at no additional cost to replace the unfixable battery. The initial estimate for the repair was $925.00, but on 10/27, the dealership offered a discounted price of $825 and asked for my approval. I made several follow-up calls to the representative regarding the vehicle. I asked the following questions: 1. What would be my prorated amount for the battery? I was told it would be free of charge. 2. I asked if there were any other issues with the vehicle and requested a thorough check to ensure its safety. 3. On 10/28, I asked if a diagnostic had been performed to identify any additional problems. The dealership confirmed that a diagnostic had been done, and the issue was with the alternator. 4. I inquired about the repair duration. The representative mentioned that he needed to order the Toyota Alternator, which would take a few days to receive. 5. During my follow-up calls, the representative informed me that there were no more Toyota alternators available in 30 states. He said he would order a non-Toyota brand alternator, but it would cost an additional $40. On 11/3, the payment was not processed as outlined. I was told to rush back to my bank. When I started my car, something didn't feel right. The representative lifted the hood and noticed that some parts were missing and there was a cutout. Now I'm being told that the motor mount needs replacement. These issues did not exist prior to this incident.
