Not enough cars on RUSH HOUR trains!
The LIRR is completely backwards with assigning cars to rush hour trains on the Babylon line. Mondays and Fridays are the quietest days and there are always 10 cars on the 8:04 AM Babylon Train when it gets to Massapequa. Then on Tues, Weds & Thurs, when ridership is VERY high, there are only 8 cars on that train. By the time it arrives in Massapequa, there is barely enough seats left, by the time we're at Wantagh, there are no seats. Covid is still a thing - don't send 10 cars on Mon & Fri when less people commute and only 8 during peak travel days. This is not rocket science.
Return of 7:45am train to Penn Station from Auburndale
Thank you so much for reinstating the 7:45am train from Auburndale to Penn Station. Its temporary deletion proved to be a great stressor in my morning commute and forced me to make big changes to my daily schedule.
I still greatly miss being able to catch a train in the evening from Penn Station to Auburndale every half hour. Not having that option anymore prevents me from working late at the office, but I will count my blessings that the 7:45am is back in place.
Yours truly, Cathy Jones

Long Island Railroad overnight horns
The insane overnight inconsistency of the horn blasts are ridiculous. It seems to all depend on who’s driving. In the worst weather days they can come by without blaring. All depends on driver. Tonight I was woken by long loud blasts from 3am 315 and 5am trains at bay shore train station. I know the rules and work in audio. I tested the sound level from my house which is over the dB level at the distance I’m at. It never has anything to do with conditions and seems to be the drivers. They are also not going by at the high enough speeds to be allowed to blast the horn in that was. This has to stop. LIRR is not obeying federal regulations
Claimed loss: My peace
Desired outcome: Stop this constant and random action

Hey, it sounds like the noise from the trains is really disruptive. Since you’ve already done some sound level testing, you should present this data in a complaint to the Long Island Railroad management. It’s helpful to include specific times and dates when the noise exceeds acceptable levels. You might also want to reach out to your local city or town council as they may have additional regulations or influence over how these issues are handled locally. Gathering support from your neighbors to collectively address the concern can also add weight to your complaint, showing it’s a community-wide issue.
Train to patchogue from mastic-shirley
I took the train sunday the 14th of April at 9 07 from mastic shirley. They have not fixed the broken door in over two years. nobody was watching at patchogue station and the driver and ticket collector where not in my busy car. the driver is way in front and locked in. The ticket collector/conductor was in one of the rear cars. I thought he would be in the...
Read full review of Long Island Rail Road [LIRR]LIRR service to CGM
Hello,
I commute from Rockville Centre to Grand Central every weekday. There really needs to be more direct service after 8:12 am. Every train after that, needs a switch in Jamaica and there is a long wait for the GCM train. There is no connecting train. There is usually a 10 minute wait for the train to GCM. Please add more direct trains to GCM from RVC. And there needs to be more connecting trains in Jamaica without such a long wait. Also, I take the 5:30pm train home to RVC from GCM. Although this is a direct train, it is always late pulling into RVC and the train is too over crowded. It should probably have more cars. And please add more direct PM trains to RVC from GCM. This is the only direct. Everyone after that is a switch at Jamaica (although usually not as long of a wait). Thank you.
Desired outcome: More direct trains from Rockville Centre to GCM! And, when there is a transfer at Jamaica, there should be a transfer train waiting or just pulling in. There should not be a 10 minute wait at Jamaica.

Schedule
I have been riding the long island railroad for 35 years - the 5:32 direct far rockaway train from penn station was a staple - it changed to 5:34 but was direct -
There are no direct trains to far rockaway from penn station - on 6:19 pm - what are you doing to the people that have commuted - this is ridiculous - why is everything grand central now - how could you change this train - you need to transfer - walk over tracks - I have knee issues and missed connection last night -
Far rockaway is an irrelevant line - little to no service - one direct staple train you need to do away with
You need a direct train from penn station between 5-6 pm - this is unacceptable - what are you doing with penn station now - housing the migrants -
You did away with the discounted 20 punch ticket - I have a monthly for what
Desired outcome: add back a direct far rockaway evening train from penn station - what is this!!!!!!!

Atlantic Terminal
With every 'schedule change' there are fewer direct trains to / from Atlantic Terminal. The last rush hour direct train to Freeport (6:12) is being removed as of Mar 4th. LIRR has completely disenfranchised handicapped customers like me. I am unable to climb and descend 3 flights of stairs safely with dozens of people rushing to make connections. Elevators are often inoperable and open on the adjacent side of platforms facing the stairs down onto tracks rather than platforms. People wait alonside them making it a treacherous walk directly on the edge of the platform, which is impossible with a walker or cane. They have also thoroughly disenfranchised the passengers who rely on stops at Nostrand, East NY and Atlantic who are largely a monotiry community. Something MUST be done to correct this and restore some direct service on all branches to enable workers to commute. This last change has compelled me to choose between my physical safety and my job!
Claimed loss: TBD if injured on stairs or platforms chainging trains at Jamaica.
Desired outcome: RESTORE direct service to / from Atlantic during normal rush hours (not 6 am or 7 pm) on all branched

20 day pass
Hello,
Now most of the companies are requesting employees to come weekly few days to work and, in this scenario, the semimonthly or 20 days pass will be easier for most of the people.
LIRR stopped these options, and we are forcefully buying the monthly passes,
I kindly request to reconsider the semimonthly or 20 day or 10-day round trips.
Thanks

How the whole LIRR was converted to a mosque where is separation of church and State?
Hello
We have been trying to reach a supervisor trying to file a complaint . I took the trains from their end station yesterday and the whole station was transformed onto a mosque. As an attorney specializing in constitutional law, I’m wondering why this was allowed and what happened to the whole separation of church and state?
I have been trying to find out the rationale behind this and I was hung on and cursed by the representatives
Let me remind you that this is the company that we have been supporting and taking for many years. I need a manager call me e at 516-967_7407 and unless this is resolved I’ll file a civil right lawsuit against LiRR
Claimed loss: Loss of civil libertyLoss of American values

733a Train from Long Beach to Grand Central
Since the 11/13 schedule change there has only been 8 cars on this train. It was an originally an 8 car train and it was way too over crowded.
It became a 10 car train and it was just normal overcrowded.
Now that it is 8 cars again, the overcrowding is at a ridiculous level. This train needs to be a 10 car train at the least.
This also has made this train late a bunch, because people on the platform do not know it is only 8 cars. The train needs to wait for people to walk down the platform to board. This is at every stop adding minutes to the commute.
Claimed loss: 2 cars off a very crowded train
Desired outcome: put the 2 cars back on this train, it needs to be at least a 10 car train.
My 14-year-old experienced an issue with the 'mail and ride' phone app and was unfairly charged on the train
Dear Sir/Madam, On the early morning of 10/19, my 14-year-old son encountered an unexpected issue with the 'Mail and Ride' phone app on the bayside 7:04 train. He explained that he is a freshman student who has been using the app since the beginning of October, used paper pass in September. Unfortunately, the ticket agent still charged him $17, which wa...

The Westbury overpass is a succession of windows with locks. I was using the overpass two nights ago and saw one of the windows open. These windows have a special lock that you need a tool to close and lock. It won't be long in the colder weather before kids hang out up there and when they find out they can throw things out the window down onto the train and tracks the temptation will be irresistible.
The windows should be locked before someone tries some train surfing.
Desired outcome: Lock the windows, prevent an accident, derailment or suicide.
expired tickets on Oct 1st.
A total of 9 tickets expired! At previous price of $12.50=$112.50.
My account number is 9168352.
No notification of expiration, not on the app or anywhere.
We are going through very tough times, my wife loosing it because its a lot of food for the kids.
Just started going 4 days a week into the office on Oct 1st.
Any possible way to get that money back in the account?
Any help with this would be so greatly appreciated,
Ray Agrelo
Desired outcome: Please, please, please return the money to the account. Thank you so much
Safety
Hello, On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, I traveled on the 413 from Penn Station to Babylon. The fact that an electric scooter was left in the middle of the island with a passenger sitting next to it and refusing to move it is unfortunate. In my view, that's a safety concern. I tripped over another scooter earlier accidentally because it was placed...
Read full review of Long Island Rail Road [LIRR]Lack of communication
Yesterday, September 6, I was on the 3:31PM long island railroad train out of Penn station and headed for Ronkonkoma when we were told everybody had to exit the train at Huntington due to a fire department response east of Huntington Station.
There were 200 or so passengers milling about around the Huntington station with zero communication from the railroad.
We should have had some information over loudspeaker or from an LIRR employee at the location. If they did not know, they should've told us so. Would we be waiting a few minutes? A few hours? Do the people in control of the trains even bother to contact them?
As I had no other way to get to Ronkonkoma, and no word from the railroad, I was forced to spend $90 on a taxi.
This confusion with which you left us was astonishing.
It is an abysmal way to treat your passengers and a tremendous hole in your system.
Ellen Jaffe
Desired outcome: I would like a personal response. Also like reimbursement of $90, or at least the cost of my return ticket to Ronkonkoma. You may reach me at ellen.k.[protected]@verizon.net

As of 9/5 new schedules went into effect. The amount of trains going into Grand Central and Penn Station is astounding. Meanwhile you can't get a straight train to Atlantic for nothing. There was a 6:26 from West Hempstead straight to Atlantic but that is now a Grand Central train. What a huge inconvenience for so many people! My other option would be to leave from Hempstead but there isn't a straight train to Atlantic until 7:05. Why not bring back the 6:21 train that used to go straight to Atlantic. Why is Atlantic the forgotten station when do many people work in lower Manhattan providing easy access to the IRT line? This truly messes up my time of getting to work for 7:30am. Increased fares but poor options.
Desired outcome: Bring back the 6:21am from Hempstead to Atlantic Bring back the 6:26 from West Hempstead to Atlantic
schedule
This s a horrible change in schedule, unconsidered to large amount of people going to work around Atlantic terminal station.
All direct trains are cancelled. It is very stressful to take 2-3 trains to get to work and back.
We need to return morning and evening direct trains Freeport-Atlantic terminal and back.
Please consider convenience of people who have to get to work and back home! We are paying a lot to this commute!
Commuter.
Desired outcome: We need to return morning and evening direct trains Freeport-Atlantic terminal and back.
Schedule changes
It’s truly appalling and frustrating the lack of consideration that occurs when these new schedules are created. As a customer traveling from a smaller hub, Locust Manor, we always get the short end of the stick. We went from having a 7:39am, 7:51am, and 8:09am train every weekday. To now having options of 7:39am to Penn and an 8:02am to Atlantic Terminal...

5:10 AM service for Valley Stream & Lynbrook.
In last six months (after opening Grand Central), LIRR had cut 5:12 service from Valley Stream to Penn Station. In new schedule starting from Tuesday (5:09 AM) Lynbrook to Penn Station had removed.
Now from 4:35 to 5:30 (for 1 hour) no service to Penn or Grand central from Valley Stream and Lynbrook.
Please restore this cut service to Valley Stream or Lynbrook asap to meet area's customer demand.
LIRR giving Queens area (Locust manor, Laurelton and Rosedale) and customer more service and cutting Valley Stream & Lynbrook (Long Island) service.
Desired outcome: Kindly restore 5:10 am service to Valley Stream and Lynbrook.
Quality of service
I want to get this right, you are raising prices again by cutting out the 20 trip option, you wrecked schedules by removing express service, anyone riding out of penn station to any station up to Jamaica in the late afternoon rides for free because the trains are so packed people cant sit, on top of this you bring out the trains from the 1950s , that smell like sewer systems.
Its not like we are paying $2.50 each way and this is the best service you can offer?
I would be ashamed if i was in management of this corrupt organization.
But hey just keep raising prices and lowering service standards
Desired outcome: I think its obvious....
New schedule for a commuter hour trains on far rockaway line
The weekday morning schedule from Far Rockaway has had, up until the new schedule (effective 9/6), 6 trains between starting at 5:28AM and up to 7:11AM – 3 direct to Penn, 3 direct to Grand Central.
The new schedule has 6 trains starting at the same times – but now there are 3 direct to Atlantic, 2 direct to Grand Central, and ONLY 1 direct to Penn… and that 1 train isn’t until 7:11, NOTHING EARLIER.
From one extreme to the other…. What’s wrong with this picture. Again, the Far Rockaway line is not being considered.
Desired outcome: Restore/re-route at least 1 more train, either the 5:45AM or the 6:05AM train, so it is DIRECT to Penn Station on weekday mornings.
Hunterspoint Train Station
I am currently partially disabled due to replacement knee surgery and was travelling home from Long Island City Monday 8/27/23 to ride the 5:00 train out of Hunterspoint. It was positioned with the last car 1 car behind the stairs on the eastbound side of the platform. I was very slowly coming down the stairs and go to the lower of the 3 sets of stair...
