This is a follow-on complaint regarding my refund request for Marble’s breach of Agreement signed on April 13, 2023. I initially paid $4,000 for an attorney consultation, a Response to the Dissolution of Marriage/Counterpetition, and 5 hours of settlement negotiation. I also spent $8,500 on July 22, 2023, for additional services, including a financial affidavit. I canceled ALL services in August. Instead of canceling ALL of my services, they went piecemeal “downgrading” my services and issued a series of refunds short of the $12,500 I paid. The Marble Law Finance Dept recently emailed me what they consider a “discount,” which is attached to this communication. What was the $3271 for? They only gave me an hour of phone communication between attorneys and filing a Counter-petition. No other services were provided as required by the initial agreement executed on April 13, 2023. In my recent email dated November 14, 2023, I stated that I would settle for $2,500 out of $3,271 and consider this matter resolved. Their services do not justify the $771, but I will write that amount off.
I will take all necessary action, including arbitration. I have the time and resources to travel to California for legal/arbitration proceedings. Hopefully, this organization can provide documentation to justify this outrageous charge of $3,271 during the discovery process. I have all supporting documentation for any legal, enforcement, or regulatory entity, including the California and Illinois State Bar Associations, regarding Marble Law’s unethical and possibly illegal practices.
Based on what I experienced, that shifty language in the Agreement mandating arbitration could be overcome in Court. Do not use this organization for any of your family law needs. Hire a local attorney who would probably provide a much better service with lower costs. Using Marble Law costs me many months and thousands of dollars for subpar/nonexistent services.
Claimed loss: $3,271
Desired outcome: Refund of $2500
