Master Matchmaker
I signed up for service almost a year ago for $3500. To date I have had NO dates at all and only 4 "possibilities " which were WAY OFF. The company starts the process very professional with a true concern, even have several sessions with online Professional Counselor (I am a professional counselor). Then you give them your money and...crickets...silence...the Abyss. I would contact them every 4 to 6 weeks to "check in" and I was told to be "patient" it just takes time...Ok...nothing. I check in another 4 to 6 weeks and another 4 to 6 weeks...just get put off and no possibilities of getting your money back. What a SCAM! with no accountability because it could take years and your membership is for ever...which I think they just wait you out. Save your money!
Desired outcome: To find a companion. How about a single date. I went into this optimistic, but realistic.

Service
I had the unfortunate experience of sending mastermatchmaker 5 thousand dollars for social connections. After going thru a through interviewing process refining my biography I was promised I would be given at least two proposals for meeting a qualified lady. This never came about. I am now seeking the refund of half of my investment as they are a complete...

Total rip off. I was lied to. Not only did they never find me a match for an actual date, but they refused to try to keep trying to do so unless I paid them an additional several thousand dollars - that pursuant to our contract wasn't even due until my first date. So I paid them thousands and then they didn't want to work anymore until I paid them thousands more that I didn't owe yet. I'm suing them.
I spoke with Joann Ward the owner of the business and after discussing matters with her, it appears that my situation was a matter of confusion for all involved with no intent to do me any harm. We were able to resolve the matter fully to my satisfaction within just a few minutes of talking to Joann and so I have no remaining issue with Mastermatchmakers, and I’m glad to find that my problem was only a miscommunication and nothing intentional. Any business can have a miscommunication, I respect that. And I appreciate her so quickly handling this for me and putting us back on good terms.

Master matchmakers is a scam
I am appalled by Master Matchmakers. They are a total scam. They found random singles on dating apps and attempted to force me on dates with them. Every single person I was set up with would share how odd they felt when master matchmakers offered them a free of charge service and I of course felt cheated after paying $2k. I am extremely disappointed. I was 100% cheated from this service and the matchmaker family. I am sad for them and I hope when you read this that you will save yourself from this scam. Do not let them lure you in.
Horrible service
Joann Ward is a crook and a liar. They are nothing but greesy drifters. I was treated like a dog abuser. They do not deliver what they say and fight you on it when you try and challnge their work. I am in retail and I would never ever treat an enemy much less a client th way I was cheated. If you are considering a matchmaking service do not use this service they are horrible. This is a scam and these people ought to be ashamed and stopped.
terrible business practices
Steven ward is a fast talking crook. They will take your money and not care at all whether or not you actually meet someone appropriate. I've worked with them with no results. I know others who've met the same fate. They won't answer questions and won't work with you when you're dissatisfied. If not for bad customer service there would be none at all. They don't care, they're fraudulent thieves. I agree with the other complaints who call them uncaring liars.

low life and disrespectful
They are very disrespectful and low life. They are arrogant and attempt to tear down their clients psychologically in order to create a sense of codependence to suck them dry of money. They are callous business people who don't actually care about the client nor love nor relationships. They lack morals and ethics and are basically baseline individuals who need clarity and depth. Hopefully, one day they evolve to actually become (positive) human beings. This is possible, but not likely in this lifetime.

Scam, Fraud
I pursued Master matchmakers after learing about them from a friend who signed up but never used the service since she started dating someone right she met through friends after signing up and paying for it ($5.5k for a lifetime membership and 5 guarenteed matches). The experience can be summed up as follows
FRAUD, SCAM, NOT REAL DEAL - RUN, RUN, RUN!
They spent the majority of the time pushing coaching sessions, changed contract terms AFTER payment was received and provided conflicting information and information on their business, business practices and references. For example, when asked to send over references, they sent over a bunch which had the same quote attributed to 2 different people. That was the 1st flag. 2nd flag was they continually pushed coaching sessions, even when I put the process on hold as I had a date lined up their response was to spend $2.5k with them for coaching only so "I don't mess it up". Now mind you, they didn't know me from a fly in the wall and we had only exchanged emails and had maybe 1 phone conversation. 3rd flag is was when contract terms were non-negotiable, they would only commit to 3 matches (agian for $5.5k which was suppossed to include coaching) but could drop you as a member if you were deemed a challenging match without a refund and would provide no specifics. 4th flag came when instead of pursuing the net new contract, my friend offered to transfer her contract to me (which is outlined in their contract terms) and all of a sudden the included coaching was no longer included and they wanted additional money for that.
Here's timeline (which I sent to them as well) which outlines their craziness (cleaned up to remove names and include context in brackets)
The original agreement offer was for 3 matches, which you explained was based on the organizations previous history with making matches. But you also agreed and added language that I would be kept in the system for additional matches beyond 3 since matching at this investment level is based on current available clients (i.e. not a search for new ones matching my criteria) and as a woman of color interested in meeting a man of color, the options are more limited. Though we know it only takes 1, the right one and that’s the goal, there are still the realities of timing and the like. You also stated formal consulting was included in the price of $5500 and the cost could/would not be modified even if the formal consulting was not pursued, though it was highly recommended.
Then I noticed the transfer option and decided to pursue that option through . That was agreed to by you and a new agreement was sent over. When I saw the new agreement it stated 5 total matches (based on terms) and none was outlined for consulting which seemed to contradict previous agreement term, I again reached out to you. At that time you indicated that informal consulting was included with the transfer fee of $450 and any membership agreement – that answered my question on how I would be appropriately matched with other clients so I chose to move forward, sent over the email saying as much and indicated I would call with credit card information as I agreed to those terms. The agreement I agreed to was for 5 matches and no consulting.
However, after payment was processed, and terms agreed to, I received this new updated agreement with new changed terms to add in formal consulting. In your email to me you state “she is allowing you to have 3 coaching sessions with your membership at no additional cost.”, however that is in direct conflict with what you then outline in your email below stating “So your options are to pay $2000 for the coaching and keep 5 matches, or convert 3 of the free matches that you are receiving into the coaching sessions at no additional cost” it can’t be free/included as well as at additional cost, this also contradicts your previous comment on not being able to have more than 3 matches. Lastly, at no time was it communicated that formal consulting was mandatory until this last agreement was emailed over which I have declined to move forward with.

Extremely slow poor service
I have been with this company for 5 years. In those 5 years, they have set me up on 3 dates. They have contacted me approximately 5 times with potential dates. That is ONE DATE A YEAR! I am successful ( physician), attractive woman. I paid them money because internet dating can be labor intensive. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT WORT H THE MONEY! BEWARE!

I've known more than one attractive female doctor. They should have spent some time socializing a bit before they pursued their careers. Most fellas aren't interested in dating a crocodile.
Lying Cheats
Steven Ward at Master Matchmakers is a lying theif, and poor business man. His company is a total fraud. They claim they will fix you up on dates for a certain amount and then dont do it. when you ask why he'll tell you that you need to pay him more money.
I met with him, he said he would set me up on 3 dates, for a fee of $450. When I followed up with him, he said he hasnt given me a second thought, but I should write an essay about how much money my family has...if I do want to get set up I would need to pay him more money.
SCAM! They have nobody to fix you up with.

Dishonest Business Practices
Master Matchmakers (MM) operate a classic bait-and-switch operation. Upon signing up for the basic subscription, I was solicited by phone as an "exceptional candidate" and was persuaded to "upgrade" to the silver level of membership based on my profile and photo. They committed that this would expose me to a large amount of elegible men who do not post...
