purchased car 11/22. Still dont have car, they say are trying to fix it. Did a trade for car. i have asked numerous times to just give me my car back that i traded. i was told Monday that they cant give it back to me because it was sold. the finance company as told me that they couldnt have sold the car because they dont have the title. when i traded the sonata Mcgrath applied the check to the wrong account which resulted in a late payment and never paid off the sonata. I just want my sonata back and to get as far away as possible. If they sold it they did so illegally without title.

I purchased a vehicle from McGrath City Hyundai on 9/19. The dealership had just replaced the front brakes. Just 6 days later, when removing the front tire, one of the bolts holding the tire on snapped because the person who last worked on the vehicle used an impact to tighten the lug nut down and over-tightened it. The Honda dealer closest to our home quoted over $800.00. to do the repair. Even though it was McGrath's personnel that made the mistake, since labor is the largest part of the bill, we offered to bring it back to McGrath so they could do the repair themselves. They simply stated the truck was bought as is and they won't do anything for us. If the previous owner did the work themselves, I would agree. However, it was McGrath personnel that made the mistake. When you are buying something with the understanding that they did the work, you should be able to expect it was done right. I expect the service department to stand behind the work they completed.

Beware of post-vehicle purchase service. I purchased a brand new vehicle from McGrath in April . Less than 1 year later, I reached out to Michael Vaughn at McGrath to request a cancellation of non-standard vehicle service contracts--as is provided by Illinois law. Michael Vaughn responded and directed me to Alan Robledo, the Finance Manager. After reaching out seven (7) times over the course of three weeks, I received no response from either Michael Vaughn or Alan Robledo. In the meantime, McGrath has continued to send me marketing materials for their dealership. I would NOT recommend this dealership

I was promised that tree sap and a scratch on my brand new car would be taken care of. I was told to expect a call from a salesperson named Miguel first thing Tuesday morning the 1st of June. I never received a call. In fact, I called the dealership trying to reach him, some dude names Lief, the manager Jerry Gleason, and others. 19 times. Nobody would take my call as they were avoiding me trying not to dea with the situation. I was also promised all weather floor mats but never received this in writing. I need the scratch on my car fixed on the agreed upon date of June 10th, as verbally promised to me on Saturday, May 29th or I will seek legal counsel to recoup damages to get it fixed at a body shop of my choice. Furthermore, I will be contacting a third party besides the Complaintsboard.com regarding this dealership. I have also already filed a complaint with Hyundai

I purchased a car from mcgrath on 6/23 for 14,000. I returned the car on 6/26 because the car hwould not turn off. I was given a loner car for the weekend. I returned to Mcgrath auto on 6/28. I decided that I no longer wanted the car because this deal was already starting out on the wrong foot. The sales manager bought the car back for 11,000.00 and gave me a check. The check bounced. I went back to Mcgrath on 7/1 and was given another check for 11035.00 which included the check bouncing fee. I went to the bank that Mcgrath banks at, and they would not cash the check, so I deposit the check in my bank and the check bounced. Mcgrath told me that they would now send me a check in the mail since I did not wait 24 hrs before I cashed the second check. so far the check in the mail has not come. They will not give me a Cashier check. Now I have no car and they still have my 11035.00 I want my refund of 11035.00

07/12 Hello, My wife purchased a Hyundai Sonata SE on 07/10 at McGrath City Hyundai. The car was bought with a trade-in of her 2011 Civic. The total charge was inclusive of the trade-in value appraised at $5500.00. The $22000 charge included a DESTINATION CHARGE of $1175.00. She paid the sticker price of $25,159.00 minus her car's value plus taxes. The invoice included a DESTINATION CHARGE and an additional Inland fee of $1005.00, totaling $2180.00. We suspect an error in being charged twice for delivery, once by the manufacturer and once by the dealership. We are seeking clarification and a potential reimbursement of $1175.00 for the duplicate charge.

My 2017 Hyundai Tuscan, that I bought brand new in 2018 and has less than 27,000 miles on it experienced engine failure the other day. After being towed to McGrath city Hyundai they mis-diagnosed the engine issue twice. First saying it was a batter issue (way off) and then saying that the engine was overflowed with oil (also not true). I had recently gotten my oil changed at Oil Express off Western ave, and I watched them put in the correct amount of oil. Not only that, Oil express called McGrath City Hyundai on my behalf to see what the issue was, and the service manager told Oil Express that the engine had a crank shaft issue, not an oil issue. Because McGrath City Hyundai is falsely reporting the engine issue, and can't give me a straight answer, my 5 year 100,000 mile warranty would not cover the repair. Outside of of this, my case manager at Hyundai USA told me McGrath City Hyundai has been falsely charging me for basic maintenance since the purchase of the vehicle in 2018.

The dealer and I agreed upon a price of $14000 for a used 2019 Honda Civic on 5/20, when it came time to go to financing the price was changed to $18000 without informing me or acknowledging the change in price. The dealership closed by the time we finished to when we noticed the change in the contract we had to go the next day. The next day 5/21 we arrived to the dealership and were given various different excuses as to why the price became higher. The salesperson Mohammad stated that it included taxes even though there was a separate section of the invoice for this. The dealership stated that their manager was not available and we needed to return the next day to dispute the transaction. We came back on 5/22 asking for video footage from the financing room to prove that the agreed price was $14000. We were told that the camera was not working that day. The dealership refused to refund us for the car and told us that we needed to pay the sales taxes in order to get our money back for the car.
