Mediclinic Group Services Billing department

I was overcharged by the billing department at Midstream Mediclinic. Billing staff were very rude and unhelpful. Logged a complaint, complaints department called, once I explained she agreed and said it would be rectified. I then did a follow up call and she denied ever speaking to me. I then requested a break down of my account which I was told they cannot.

Mediclinic Group Services Mediclinic Gardens in Cape Town

I had the misfortune of being admitted to Mediclinic for a deep vein thrombosis on 1st March 2023.

From the start at the reception and throughout my interaction with Mediclinic staff there was an apathy, no empathy and little no understanding about the pain that I was in. No management. Ward staff are largely fat, lazy and noisy.

The one bright spot was the catering - outsourced to a non Mediclinic comapy.

Desired outcome: Management making an effort and being present to ensure quality control would be great. Ward sister is too weak and lazy to ensure good care. Bring someone from outside of the hospital to do customer surveys.

Mediclinic Group Services Service

Today I had appointment in mediclinic Mirdiff at 11:30am with Dr. Sameh. Reached the clinic at 11:20, register did the Bios signs and was in from the doctor clinic 11:30 waiting till 12:10. Asked why I am not sleeping the doctor they mentioned he has 2 walk in patients. Both went to see the doctor befie mem

Across the world priority is for appointment. This is not the first time in same clinic. It reflects poor professionalism and lack of respect to patients time. I understand losing one patient may be not important for a big HC facilit, but it is a start

Mediclinic Group Services The bill I need to settle received in 23rd of June 2022, while the service was rendered in 17 September 2021

On the 23/06/2022, I received for the first time a bill from Mediclinic Highveld for a service rendered on the 17/09/2021.

I have been asking the lady (Promise Sibeko;) to furnish me with the letter where my medical aid refused to pay since I was told that there was insufficient funds. My in-hospital cover is unlimited. The hospital does not respond.

Desired outcome: First an apology, then negotiating the funds to be paid

Mediclinic Group Services Admission for patient referred by Dr with bronchitis/pneumonia

I, Bronwyn Dean (patient) went to Dr Charles on 8/04/2021. Upper respiratory infection was diagnosed. I went home with script for antibiotics etc. On Tuesday 13/04/2021 I felt drastically worse than onset and had completed my course of antibiotics so went back to Dr Charles.

Dr Charles agreed it best I get admitted due to how much worse I was. Her referral note to the hospital states bronchitis/pneumonia.

I pay for decent medical aid! I was told the hospitals have not one bed for me! Midstream Mediclinic in particular was asked for a bed as this is closest to my home. They refused to assist with a bed.

Desired outcome: I need medical help!!! I am SICK!

Mediclinic Group Services mediclinic fees

On 5 November 2019 we received a fixed fee quotation from Medi-Clinic Worscester for and operation that my partner needed to undergo. In the small writing at the bottom the mention that this does NOT include fees for the doctors nor take home medication. The full amount for the quotation of R16552 also had to be paid on admission. we did a pre-admission on 6 November 2019 so when we arrived at the prescribed time of 10h00 on 14 November 2019, reception needed our payment and the ward sister came to fetch us. My partner was shown his room and told that a ward sister would be attending to him shortly for admission etc. At 11.30 the attending anesthetist arrived to do his per-op check just to find that my partner had not yet been admitted and examined by any ward sister and that there wasn't even a filed opened yet.

Eventually all was in place and the operation took place. He was discharged at 17h30. having spent a whole 7.5 hours in hospital. The fixed fee covered a three day stay. On discharge I went to check on what outstanding fees (for the take home medication) had to be settled, just to be told not to worry, they will email me.

Today I get an account that states that an amount of R5258 is still due for theater costs. Nowhere on the quotation does it say this is excluded. This is the second time Medi-Clinic has done this.

Mediclinic Group Services birth management complaint at dubai city hospital

Hi City Hospital Mediclinic,

This complaint only took 6 months to be written and sent.

On the 6th October 2018 at 20:54, I've delivered a baby boy through an emergency C-section and my baby ended up spending 9 days in NICU and altogether we spent 14 days at the City Hospital Dubai.

The mental and health damaged by the events occurred that day were significantly devastating for me and my family and it only took six months to write this complaint and feedback.

From what I can remember that day, my water broke around midnight on the 5th October 2018 so we drove to the hospital immediately where I got admitted.

I don't remember the names of the midwifes, there were 2 midwifes and my complaint is specifically for the midwife who was on the day shift. She was the only one who was communicated with my Dr all day. They gave me all the possible drugs to foster a vaginal birth and towards the end, they started with the induction procedure where the baby was on a completely stressed, we could see the heartbeat jumping on and off while I was lay down in my back and the numbers in the monitors were above 180. We knew that this cannot be normal, however we trusted the people, we trusted the hospital. Before the induction procedure started, the day midwife did a sweep to open my cervix to 2 cm around 4pm, it was very clear to us that they were forcing a vaginal birth at all cost, ignoring all other sings, my health and the baby health!

I believe once they realised that the baby was suffering tachycardia inside plus all the drugs they used to do the induction, they had to stop it, and finally called for an emergency c-section, which it took around 2 hours for the whole preparation!
During this period between tachycardia and induction drugs, it was time for midwife swift, and that's when the night midwife found out that the baby pooed himself inside yes …Meconium aspiration syndrome.

Sadly, all these could have been avoided, obviously the day midwife was no into her job and was communicating poorly with my Dr, my Dr taking this whole situation very lightly.

Finally my dr visited me on Day 2 or 3 in the Post-natal ward, where she apologised and she even mentioned that you are a private hospital and looks bad when they do c-section, in that point, it was very clear that she didn't call for a c-section because of the reputation of the hospital.

My Dr Ghada AlBatran knew that I have nothing against a C-section and just wanted a smooth birth and healthy baby. Ive had a pretty straight forward pregnancy,

What happened here could have been avoided and therefore, we would like the hospital to do something about it or we are happy to take legal actions on the people involved here.

Sadly, out of all these events, Mediclinic are the ones who benefit the most here financially of course.

We are happy to discuss further and hope that this devastating event does not happen in the future.

Kind regards,

Daniela Cabrera

Mediclinic Group Services isolation ward for cancer patient

My son, 36 years old, was diagnosed with Lynphoma. His treatment is 6 sessions of chemotherapy every three weeks and he is hospitalized for a week for each of the sessions.
His doctor ordered that he be placed in isolation at the Midstream Mediclinic. He has today completed his 4th session. Only once was he placed in a room with a private bathroom. This last session was the worst experience. The person sharing his bathroom was a patient with lung infection. This is totally unacceptable. How can this happen in a private hospital?
He has two treatments left. If this treatments continues, you can be sure that I will spread this hopeless treatment on social media, or worse, should he become ill as a result of his ‘isolation'.

The pharmacy at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi consistently delivers excellent service.

I would like to give special recognition to Dr. Salwa Mohamed, who goes above and beyond to provide exceptional support and stellar service. Her dedication is truly admirable, and I hope her career continues to flourish.

I came to hospital for consultation but I've been sitting for more than two hours. I want to know if this the way you treat your patients. I'm very disappointed. I will never come to this hospital and I will write this on social media
