I wasn't given the option to cancel my subscription with meetup group. This is not legal. I can't even remove my credit card from the system. They keep telling me we won't take any action on your request because you need to consider the discount we are going to give you. Still, the dashboard of my meetup group doesn't show an option for cancelling. Then they said a human will call you but no one did and kept asking me to consider the discount and keep the account open. Google is acting like a highway robber when i simply want to cancel my subscription.
When they say you can cancel any time you want they should provide the option, but I don't have one.

Possible defamation of character behind removal from group
I was a member of a group alled Experience Toronto. The organizer is Isabel McKensie.
In fall 2021, due to Isabel's insistence we wear only masks - whereas municipal policy in Toronto allowed for faceshields, which I wore - Isabel blocked me from attending 2 events.
Therefore, since November 2021, I have not attended any of her events. Nor have I had contact with her - she demanded I never email her again - and I have not had any direct contact with members of her group (unless they belong to other meetups I am a member of.)
So... no contact, no discussions, no attendance for well over a year, and Isabel has now removed me for the following reason: "requests from members based on her behaviour to damage the reputation of members and the organizer, I am finally removing Deborah."
If Isabel had removed me for non-participation, you would not be hearing from me. But the fact she is basing her action on falsehoods and possibly malicious comments by others, all unfounded, I am complaining. What requests have been made? What is the substance of these requests? I feel my reputation and character are being defamed. I note that, I would take this to meetup directly but, in the past, I have found they ignore member issues like this. FYI, I am a US citizen but I reside in Canada.
Desired outcome: That Isabel provide (A) concrete proof and validation of the requests and their specifics and (B) that she apologize, prefereably on her meetup site as well as to me.
Canot cancel group, cannot close account, still being billed
I started a group on meetup. The week before the billing period renewed I still had 0 interest in the group so I decided to shut it down. I could not close the group. I read on the help documents that I would need to close the group through the admin panel, which lead me to the screen to 'cancel my subscription'. I elected to cancel the subscription but received an error saying that that was not possible at this time. I contiunued to attempt to close the group and cancel the subscription for the next two weeks, always receiving the same "error". Meanwhile, I got billed for $98. I have now filed a dispute with the credit card company over the charge. Both meetup and my credit card company are aware that I attempted to cancel this many times prior to being charge. meetup doesn't care, since they think they are getting paid instead of getting sued. The credit card company allowed the dispute since I have screenshot and timestamp evidence of when the transaction was originally attempted along with multiples of the same error at different days and times. DON'T SIGN UP WITH THESE SCHUYSTERS!
Desired outcome: group closed; account closed; $98 refunded to my credit card.
The church of scientology
Good morning. I am lol Gina complaint about how much in the Contant that the Church of Scientology advertises and conducts meetings that are nothing more than a recruitment operation for them. You go in thinking you’re going to get help with one problem and they immediately change topic and start offering you intro to the book of Dianetics by E. Ron Hubbard. It can be thought that this group is a cult. My personal complaint is that they’re allowed to advertise when they don’t really offer any true specific help through Meetup. They walk a very dangerous line between true self improvement and mind control. I think their use of meet up should be looked into because they are recruiting people at their most vulnerable, when they need help. They don’t really want to help you, they just want you indoctrinated into their organization so that they can use you and profit from you. If they are allowed to continue, could they please be limited to less groups because they manipulate the offerings of meet up especially in the timeslots of 11 AM and 7 PM I’ve noticed. Their monopolization of your site reflects on the credibility of meet up as a brand.
Desired outcome: Limit Meet up groups from the church of Scientology by having them state their organization outright and their intention
Account Management
signed up for an account; started a group to see what kind of interest there might be. Got 0 interest. Three days before the 'subscription renewal' I went into the account to cancel. After going through their "write down why you want to cancel" and then "and now take a survey about why you want to cancel" I get to the button to submit the cancellation (You cannot cancel, you have to request that they cancel it). I push the submit button and get "Oops Sorry There has been an error - try again later". This continues until from 11/17 through 11/20 at which time I get an email saying that they have processed my payment! I get the customer service number and call them because according to the website they have customer service hours on Sunday - I call the number and get a recording "Sorry, this number does not take incoming calls" and disconnects. I'm currently waiting for my bank to cancel the payment.
Desired outcome: Close the group, cancel my account, return my subscription money that I tried to avoid paying in the first place.
Billing
Meetup has continued to bill my account for nearly a year after I have canceled and after I have communicated by email with Meetup staff.
This is UNACCEPTABLE and must stop.
Most recent email to Meetup was September 12, 2022.
I cannot find the previous emails in which Meetup staff told me that this problem was resolved.
This has NOT been resolved.
Desired outcome: Stop charging my bank account immediately, and notify me when the situation is resolved.
And I'll bet you've never found a telephone number associated with the business either. I think a class action suit is in order. Without a telephone number, they likely have a bogus 'registered agent' for the business, which, as far as I know, is against business law in a number of states in this country. I'm currently checking with the federal commerce bureau to see if this is, in fact, correct. If so, I intend to find a corporate contract lawyer and get this situation righted.

My diamonds
My diamonds Are not calculating right. This happens on Sunday, 9 October while I was streaming live and I ended my stream. If you notice in the picture I have included, the diamonds that were given to me do not add up correctly to the diamonds that it says I got. It shows what each person gifted me and when you add them all up it comes out to 1530 but on the top it says only 930. How can we solve this problem? This is happened to me before but I never knew how to contact you.

So I've now tried almost 30 times to login to my account. First apparently I have 2 accounts, which is not true. The correct email is [protected]@hotmail.com

For today's Meetup-- May 10,2022--my online link disappeared.Consequently, the participants who signed up could not participate. I had to email the ID and code to the two participants whose emails I previously had. What happened?

I was excluded and discriminated. I attended one event and it was lovely and apparently the organizer did not like me and closed out future events for me. I had tried to create a 2nd table at the closed events as this group permitted members to do so. I was removed from the group as the organizer says I complained about food prices.I did not , if so why would I want to go to future events. This is a lie ! This organizer is picking and choosing who attends and that’s unacceptable. Please close the above referenced group.

Meetup Customer Service Complaint
Meetup.com has terrible customer service. I am trying to reach some one to help me figure out how to 'pick up' a Meetup which needs an organizer, due to the death of the organizer. The only thing they offer is some lame support ticket system with a disclaimer 'we will respond ''as soon as possible'' which is a [censored] statement. If these folks were some start up, I would understand and cut them some slack, but this company has been around for over a decade and makes millions of dollars.
Desired outcome: I want to TALK to a human being and work with me to pick this MeetUp up that needs an organizer. Its been several days now and that is just unacceptable for an organization of their size and maturity.
Meetup Group wrongful dismissal from a Public Group
I was arbitrarily and capriciously removed from the membership roles of Town Center & Beyond Meetup Group in Virginia Beach.
As this is a public group with stated public rules for participation, and there is no evidence or account of my breaking any of the rules in the group, I should not have been dismissed. This is a personal issue between a few of the leaders in the group who are being spiteful towards me and exercising their alleged authority as co-organizers.
I have made an appeal to the group's original founder Alan Wilkenson, however he has not been actively involved for some time and I do not expect a resolution from him.
I have friends in the group and there are leaders (Kevin) who coordinate events that I would like to attend to have nothing to do with the drama of those who have randomly kicked me out and blocked me from re-applying to membership. This is morally wrong and has no basis in fact or reason, and is only being done to satisfy the spiteful intention of those instigating my dismissal. Cyndi and/or Donna are the likely instigators, in my opinion.

Desired outcome: Please reinstate me as a full member who can participate in events being offered as open to the public in the group.

MeetUps disappear on the day of MeetUp!
Our After Effects Abuser Group MeetUps are announced a week before, but should anyone try to register on the day, it is gone. Every month, always. They disappear into Past MeetUps although they haven't been held yet. They should move into the Past when they are actually in the past. No one can join a MeetUp they cannot see. This is not good - wouldn't you agree?
Desired outcome: We would like our MeetUps to stay current until they are over.
Spam crime photos not being removed
I am an Organizer in a meetup group (not the owner).
Noticed a former member posted photos advertising illegal drug sales in our group.
As organizer, there is no way for me to remove the photos. (I reported, but they are still there).
The member has already left the group (so I can't remove them).
Possibly the member has already deactived their account, so I can't report the member to meetups, (just says "former member").
Same member posted in other meetup groups where I'm only a member. I also reported the photos in those groups.
Desired outcome: Want the photos removed.
Mobile phone link to Zoom
Our members have complained that there is no way to get to an online meeting from a mobile phone directly from the Meetup page.
Could you make it so that if you tap on the picture (or something) it takes you directly to the online meeting from our phones?
It works fine on computers, just not phones.

You're AI suggests that my complaint is too short. Isn't shortness a sign of concise thinking? What I want is simple. Anyone on a mobile phone should be able to go directly to an online meeting from their phone. It may be extremely difficult to manage from a technical standpoint but from a users point of view everyone uses mobile phones, why not take advantage of that?
Desired outcome: Meetup links to online meetings are easy to use to get to Zoom.

I have signed up for meetup - set up everything, then I decided after registration to cancel the account. I sent them straight email just after registration that I dont need account please cancel. I got the answer next day - when the payment went trough - they said they are not refunding me. I can still using the service but they cancelling my subscriptions.

I am writing this to you as I believe an urgent action will be taken on our experience with your Meetup platform. Highly disappointed with what has happened. Our admin rights of Technology Meetup India has been taken away with we losing 4000+group members.

Billing Cycle 25th May 2021 to 25th Nov 2021- Auto Debit got declined
Manually payment done after 3 unsuccessful attempts due to auto debit declined.
Subscription renewed manually with Credit card VISA ending 7660
Billing Cycle 25th Nov 2021 to 25th May 2021- Auto Debit got declined
Tried to update the credit card for auto debit, got a message that the card is declined even after the card has auto debit functionality enabled
Raised an issue with the support team and got a reply stating that we should try using mobile browser or use a different card
Tried to manually make the payment- received error message
Tried to manually make the payment with different card- error message
Tried to manually make the payment using mobile browser with different card also same card- Same error message
Error message showing "An unexpected error occurred, please try again."
Escalated this issue with the support team and got a reply stating that this issue has been escalated to the product support team
Got a reply from the product support team stating that the card has been declined at their end so we should use a different card.
We have tried using different cards as well with the last 4 digits as 9315 still we got the same error.
Now currently the group has been transferred to some other organizer named Akhil Sharma and the group name has been changed to Cutting

Our MeetUp disappears on the day of our meeting...?! This makes no sense to me. No one can join a MeetUp they cannot find. They drop out of sight into Past MeetUps a day too soon, doncha think?
