Merrill Edge Merrill Lynch/Bank of America's low-cost trading platform

Merrill Lynch/Bank of America's low-cost trading platform is a mediocre offering. It's not particularly easy to use nor is it any cheaper than other low-cost online brokers. I prefer TD Ameritrade or even Vanguard's online brokerage tool. Bank of America's retail banking customers are nudged into signing up but you would not be missing much if you took a pass on Merrill Edge.

Merrill Edge Top Shelf Company

I chose Merrill Edge because of the Investment Broker I was fortunate to find at Friendly Center BOA in Greensboro, NC. I have only good things to say about his skill of his field, knowledge of his business, and his refreshing professionalism. I have received nothing short of "Top Shelf" performance from him; because of this Merrill Edge is my choice.

Merrill Edge Terrible

Integration between Merrill and BOA is laughable. I have POA for my mother's accounts at BOA. I wanted to move her money to a CD at Merrill. However I cannot set up an account since they would need to speak to my mother. Mind you she cannot remember my brother passed away 6 years ago. I assist her with her meals, bills, medications, and almost everything else.

To fix the issue I would need to set up my own account and add her. This really does not make any sense. The entire point of POA to allow me to take these actions on her behalf.

Merrill Edge Disappointing Experience with Merrill Edge: Poor Customer Service and Account Termination

Merrill Edge is not the best company out there. I wish I had read the reviews before I contacted them. It was my first time opening an IRA and I made the mistake of trying the debit card they sent me. Within 24 hours, it was under investigation and my account was terminated. The gentleman I spoke to told me they no longer wanted to do business with me. I was shocked and confused because there was no business done.

The hold times are definitely out of this world. I was on the phone for an hour and only spoke to a human for 5 minutes in that whole time. It was frustrating because they had no answers and didn't do what they said they would. I'm still waiting for 2 emails which I haven't received. I only get information if I call and that's when I have hours to spend not knowing how long it will take to get nowhere.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. It's just horrible. The customer service is terrible and they don't seem to care about their customers. It's a shame because I was really excited to start investing with them, but now I'm just disappointed. I hope they can improve their services in the future, but for now, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Merrill Edge Poor Customer Service and Incomplete Information from Merrill Edge

Merrill Edge is a financial institution that provides investment and banking services to its customers. My experience with them was not very good, as they provided incomplete information to start my son's account. I had to wire money to the account, but they did not provide me with the necessary information to do so. I had to call customer service, but I was on hold for at least 30 minutes before I could speak to someone.

The staff was pleasant, but they did not seem to have the knowledge to set up accounts properly. They provided me with incomplete or wrong information, which caused a lot of stress. I even lost $3,000.00 of wired money because they could not find it. This misinformation caused me to lose time, money, and caused me a lot of headaches and frustration.

When I asked to speak to a manager, there was never one available, even during business hours and after hours. It seems like they do not need or want new customers. They should have a no-star rating because of the poor service they provided.

Overall, my experience with Merrill Edge was not good. They need to improve their customer service and provide complete and accurate information to their customers. I would not recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reliable financial institution.

Merrill Edge Poor Service and Ineptness at Merrill Edge: A Disappointing Experience

I've been dealing with Merrill Edge for weeks now, trying to replace a deceased trustee with the named trustee in the existing trust document. It's been a real hassle, with multiple calls and verifications needed. My 85-year-old mother, who doesn't hear well, has had to struggle to be verified, re-verified, and triple re-verified. It's been a real headache.

Today, we were finally assured that the account was completely verified and promised that it would be unblocked within 30 minutes. But it's been 5 hours now, and it's still blocked. They keep giving us excuses about being short-handed due to COVID, but that's just not good enough. When you hear that a "team" is involved, it just means that no one gives a damn and no one can be held accountable.

We have accounts with Etrade, TD Ameritrade, American Funds, Fidelity, and AmericanCentury, and we've never experienced the ineptness and non-caring attitude of Merrill Edge. They really need to get their act together. I would strongly advise anyone to deal with any other brokerage firm other than them. I wish I could give them a fraction of one star.

Overall, I'm really disappointed with the service we've received from Merrill Edge. It's been a real hassle trying to get this simple task done, and their excuses just aren't good enough. I would definitely recommend going with another brokerage firm if you're looking for good service and reliability.

Merrill Edge is a financial service that has been around for a while now. I've been using it for a few years, and I have to say, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. Sometimes it's great, and other times it's a complete nightmare.

One of the biggest issues I've had with Merrill Edge is their customer service. It's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. I've tried calling multiple numbers, and I always end up getting redirected to Bank of America. It's frustrating because they're supposed to be affiliated, but they can't seem to help me with my Merrill Edge account.

I've also had trouble accessing my account online. Every time I try to reset my password, I get an error message telling me to call a number. When I call that number, I get redirected to Bank of America, and the cycle starts all over again.

Merrill Edge Merrill Edge Review: Poor Customer Support and Attitude Towards Customers

Merrill Edge is a brokerage firm that has been in the market for quite some time now. However, their customer support and attitude towards customers have been a major concern for many. In my personal experience, I had some of my stocks blocked due to OFAC instructions, and Merrill Edge just moved the assets to an escrow account without notifying me directly as a customer. When I asked them seven times for written confirmation that these stocks are still mine, they refused to provide any written statement confirming my ownership of the blocked asset. This was quite frustrating for me as a customer.

On the other hand, I have the same stock blocked in TD Ameritrade and JP Morgan accounts, and they provided all the statements with proof of ownership for the blocked stocks, willing to support me as a customer. This shows that the quality of service at Merrill Edge is subpar compared to other brokerage firms in the market.

Moreover, anyone who has called Merrill support service knows how frustrating it can be to wait for 2+ hours each time waiting for an available representative. Even when I went for a personal appointment to Merrill rep at Bank of America, these folks did the same - call support and wait for 30+ minutes. This is quite unacceptable for a brokerage firm that claims to provide quality service to its customers.

In conclusion, I see Merrill Edge as the worst brokerage firm in the market. Their customer support and attitude towards customers are quite disappointing. I will run away as soon as I manage to transfer my stocks out.

Merrill Edge Merrill Edge Review: Misleading Practices and Hidden Fees

So, I gotta say, I had a pretty rough experience with Merrill Edge. I thought I was using my own cash to make some stock purchases, but turns out I was actually buying on margin without even realizing it. And let me tell you, those margin fees added up real quick. I had plenty of cash in my account to cover the purchases, but apparently it was in some fancy preferred deposit that I had to sell out of first. And nobody bothered to tell me any of this! I mean, come on, Merrill Edge, throw a guy a bone here.

It wasn't until over a year later that I stumbled upon the margin fees while checking my account activity for a different reason. And let me tell you, I was not happy. I had to pay over $3,000 in interest charges, all while my cash was just sitting there in the same account earning a measly 0.04% interest rate. And when I complained to Merrill Edge, they said they'd call me back but never did. Real professional, guys.

Honestly, it's pretty ridiculous that a big company like Merrill Edge would purposefully mislead their customers like this just to make a few extra bucks in interest charges. I mean, I get it, they're in the business of making money. But come on, at least be upfront about it. Don't leave your customers in the dark and then hit them with a huge bill later on. Not cool, Merrill Edge. Not cool at all.

Merrill Edge Frustrating Experience with Merrill Edge's Life Services Department

I recently had an experience with Merrill Edge that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. Unfortunately, my mother passed away on June third of this year. As a retired school cafeteria worker of 25 years and my father a factory worker for 41 years, they had saved up a considerable amount of money with Merrill Edge. However, getting access to that money was a long and arduous process.

Over the course of nine months, I made at least 50 phone calls to Merrill Edge's life services department. It seemed like every time I spoke with someone, there was some new issue with the paperwork. Even though our lawyers had filled out all the necessary forms, there was always something wrong. It was incredibly frustrating to have to fax piles of nonsensical documents and then wait 48 hours to see if they had even received them.

To make matters worse, some of the employees at Merrill Edge told me that if they were overloaded with faxes, they would just throw them away. This is not only unethical but also illegal. It felt like I was constantly hitting roadblocks and getting nowhere.

Despite all of these challenges, we eventually did receive our money. However, it was strange to receive a check for $4.33 and another one for just one cent after receiving the bulk of our funds. It left me feeling like Merrill Edge was not taking our situation seriously.

Overall, I would not recommend using Merrill Edge for anything. The process of accessing our funds was long and frustrating, and it felt like we were constantly hitting roadblocks. If you're looking for a reliable financial institution, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Merrill Edge Poor Customer Service Experience with Merrill Edge for Rollover Account Documentation

I recently had to cash out an $1800 rollover account due to losing my job. Unfortunately, Minnesota state Unemployment requires a letter from the institution that sent me the money, detailing how it was accumulated. I reached out to Merrill Edge, hoping they could provide me with the necessary documentation. However, my experience with their customer service has been less than satisfactory.

I have spoken with eight different representatives, and each time it feels like I'm starting from scratch. Despite being assured that notes were being taken during my previous calls, I'm constantly having to repeat myself. The first time I called, I was told to expect the letter. However, after not hearing anything, I called back to find out that they wouldn't be able to provide it. When I asked for written confirmation of this, they refused.

I've been transferred between departments multiple times, only to be given the same number I originally dialed. While the representatives are polite, their responses feel scripted and unhelpful. It's like they're just making up answers as they go along. It's frustrating to have to verify my identity every time I call, and the process seems to vary depending on who picks up the phone.

I'm starting to wonder if Merrill Edge even has the information I need. They're comfortable saying no verbally, but they won't put it in writing. It's unacceptable that a massive conglomerate like Merrill Edge is refusing to provide me with information that only they have. If they can't handle retirement accounts and provide adequate customer service, they shouldn't be in the business at all.

Overall, my experience with Merrill Edge has been disappointing. Their customer service is lacking, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable brokerage or retirement account provider.

Merrill Edge Frustrating Experience with Merrill Edge: Terrible Call Wait Times and Buggy Website

Merrill Edge is a brokerage that has been around for quite some time now. However, my experience with them has been less than satisfactory. The first issue I have encountered is the terrible call wait times. I have been on hold for over 4 hours and 30 minutes just to speak to a customer service representative. This is not an isolated incident, as I have had to call in every couple of weeks due to their buggy website. The average wait time is between 2-3 hours, which is unacceptable. It is frustrating to have to wait for so long just to speak to someone when other brokerages have wait times of less than 5 minutes.

The second issue I have encountered is the buggy trading platform. The online system has a bug where it claims you have insufficient funds even though your account balance clearly has enough to cover the trade. This means that I have to call the support line every few weeks to place my trade. This problem has persisted for at least 2 years, and previous customer service representatives have said that it is a known issue. However, Merrill Edge has not devoted the resources to fix their website.

These two issues combined have made my experience with Merrill Edge extremely frustrating. It takes me 2-4 hours every other week just to be able to place a trade due to their terrible call wait times and buggy website. It is clear that these known problems have been this way for 2+ years, and Merrill Edge does not seem to deem them important enough to rectify. This is causing extreme annoyance to their customer base, and it is likely costing them far more in revenue than they are saving from not fixing their website and hiring additional support staff.

Merrill Edge Merrill Edge Review: Terrible Customer Service and Incompetence in Transferring Funds

I had a really bad experience with Merrill Edge. I wanted to liquidate my IRRA Account and transfer the funds to another broker. I contacted Merrill Edge in December 2021 and the receiving broker sent transfer paperwork to Merrill Edge with instructions to wire funds. However, when I contacted Merrill Edge on January 18, 2022 to check on the status of the transfer of funds, I was informed that no paperwork had been received. I contacted the receiving broker and they overnighted the paperwork via FedEx. I believe Merrill Edge received the original paperwork but did nothing with it.

I talked with Jason on January 22, 2022, who informed me that they did receive the paperwork from the receiving broker that day and he will expedite the transfer. He said it takes 3-5 days for an expedite. However, on January 25, 2022, I talked to Robert who informed me that this account was a mess and he did not understand why it was taking so long. He gave me his direct phone number and promised to follow up and keep me informed. He did not do this nor is the phone number valid as there is no option to enter his extension number.

On January 27, 2022, I talked to Andy who informed me the check will be "mailed" today by end of day. This is the FIRST time anyone said to me that a check would be sent via regular USPS mail! He informed me that they do not do wire transfers because the government would look at the wire as a disbursement and that could cause the IRS to charge me taxes. This is the most absurd comment as I could easily show the IRS that it was not a disbursement. He again told me they do not do wire transfers and this is the normal process. He refused to allow me to pay for Certified Mail as I am concerned a check that size could easily get lost with no method to track. Who puts a check this size in the mail? How irresponsible!

On February 1, 2022, I talked to Ron, he offered to take this to his manager, and I asked to speak to his manager directly because the funds are still with Merrill Edge. Ron's manager is Crayton and he assured me Crayton would call me. However, I received a call from Glenn, not Crayton. He said Merrill does not send money via wire and that my paper work from Equity Trust clearly states the funds are to be mailed. He later clarified that he was looking at the paperwork incorrectly. He then explains that Merrill only uses ACAT to send funds because the IRS would not see that as a disbursement. I explained that to the receiving broker and they are set up to receive ACAT. The receiving broker sent ACAT directions to Merrill. However, no one at Merrill saw this. Incompetence!

There are multiple emails where the receiving broker got involved to help me resolve the problems and even offered their FedEx account number to send the check. Merrill still refused! On February 23, 2022, I left a voice mail for Glenn to let me know if the checked had been mailed yet and to please call me. He has not called me. Prior to my voice mail, I sent Glenn an email asking for the status and Glenn has yet to reply. Unprofessional!

Today is February 25, 2022, and I have not heard from anyone at Merrill and the funds still have not reached Equity Trust. I talked to XXXXX who informed me that the funds were withdrawn February 11. He put me on hold to see if he could find out when it was mailed. I told him I received a letter from Kesha, in Research and Development, and that I need to speak with her as well. There is no phone number on the letter to contact her except the main number to Merrill Edge.

Merrill Edge is owned by Bank of America. STAY FAR AWAY from these organizations. They are great as long as they have your money but the very second you want to transfer your funds to another organization you are no longer important. No one in the Merrill Edge organization knows what the other has said or is doing. They did everything they could to stop a transfer.

On February 25, 2022, I received a call from the receiving broker and the check has finally been received. Merrill Edge has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will never do business with Merrill or any of its affiliates.

Merrill Edge complaint website shows 18 complaints and only one has been resolved. That explains the service you will get with Merrill Edge. I am so glad my funds are no longer with this organization.

Merrill Edge Timeline

Dec. 2021 ? I contacted Merrill Edge to have my IRRA Account liquidated.

The receiving broker sent transfer paperwork to Merrill Edge with instructions to wire funds.

Merrill Edge Merrill edge employee at Bank of American in Corpus Christi, TX

Merrill location at 5370 S Staples, employee Jenny Asare had two people waste an entire afternoon because she made a mistake. Mistakes happen and are understandable, but when Jenny Asare was apprised of her mistake, she took on a very rude demeanor, was unapologetic, and blamed her fellow co-worker. These are horrible people that push simple uneducated immigrants around all day, and they think they can treat everyone like crap.

Claimed loss: an entire afternoon (two victims)

Desired outcome: a black mark by Jenny Asare's name, and a formal written apology

Merrill Edge Merrill Edge Blocked my account for 2 months now

Without warning Merrill Edge blocked my Cash Management Account. I am retired and depend on my cash to make ends meet. These people in their company constantly lie and will not resolve the problem. It took them 3 weeks to send me a letter that they want to close the account with no reason at all.

I have gone to a Bank of America branch in Las Vegas and they were shocked and amazed at the attitude of Merrill Edge. The branch representative of Merrill Edge says I have an F restriction on the account. What in the hell is that? I am supposed to enjoy my money and save for what I need. Someone help me get out of this abyss it is killing our spirits and lack of faith in banking.

We need to find ways to approach Merrill Resolution Team. If anyone has the Merrill Edge Resolution Team email and address, I am game.

Two accounts...

These accounts have a reasonable combined balance. We were assigned to a "Premium Elite" representatives.

Between September 09, 2023 and September 19, 2023 we have asked for answers to four specific questions regarding how our accounts work and the investment choices and processes available.

Mr. Jon Foy, the account manager and Mr. Bradley Chard his manager, have specifically elected to not respond by email. Instead they want to talk on the phone. We need specific answers to our questions and choose to not talk on the telephone -- we want an actual record to refer to since there are two account holders and associated local advisors.

Desired outcome: Get the answers to our questions in email form.Be assigned to a new advisor who will actually communicate by email. If that is not possible because of corporate then we need to understand that so we can position for the future.

Merrill Edge Account blocked for no reason

My name is George Were Obama and Im a customer of Merrill edge under the bank of america umbrella. I recently opened a CMA account with merrill edge to

invest my employment and inheritance funds to plan for retirement. My account number is 6B1-90G77 and my account is currently restricted due to no reason. I had contacted you before and someone reached out to me and told me to to a merrill lynch branch to present my driver license and ssn card. The problem is my work schedule is from 9:05am to 8:30 pm. Monday to Saturday. Im a single father of two who i have to drop off and registered nurse at Emory Hospital. they dont have a branch that opens on sunday. I have offered to send or fax my documents but its has been to no avail.Please help me, they are holding on to my funds and i need them for my family. If i cam simply fax or email or let me go to a regular BOA near my workplace that would suffice.

Merrill Edge Every Merrill representative I have dealt with.

My father, Arthur Fotschky passed away in May. As my mother, Donna Fotschky‘s power of attorney, I have been attempting to transfer my fathers funds into my mothers accounts. The accounts are. 8J919350 and 7VM10099. After several visits to the various banks with my mother, they are still making us jump through hoops, for no apparent reason. My mother and father have been longtime customers of Merrill edge, and B of a. Presumably, after all these years, both institutions should have all the information they need to proceed with the transfers. Now they want my mother and I to produce two utility bills and our Social Security cards in person to complete this transaction. I personally have a motorhome loan through Bank of America, so I’m sure all of my information is readily accessible.

Your representatives have continually dropped the ball, and failed to perform their duties in an acceptable manner. I encourage you to go through all of the documentation and phone recordings related to this case. To say that we are dissatisfied with your organization would be a huge understatement, especially during our grieving process.

Merrill Edge account transfer delays

I was not happy with Merrill Edge and decided to transfer out my whole account to another brokage (about $350,000). The transfer started on July 12, 2023 (this is the date that completed form accepted and assets starts transferring out). Up-to today (August 2, 2023), they are still holding about $102,000 of my assets, including $49000 cash. I called their customer service many times, every time I was told that the transfer was underway, and I had to wait. It appears to me that Merrill Edge was trying to hold customer's free money as long as possible and failed to make the transfer in a timely manner which is an ill practice to say the least.

Desired outcome: To expose this company's bad behavior and so that other people may decide to stay away from the company

Merrill Edge Hot checks that I didn’t write

I received two large checks from a unknown source from a bank in Albuquerque and advised customer service to return the checks that were insufficient funds because I did not know who they were. Prior to that I had $50 in my IRa and $50 in my CMA but they charged me $40 for insufficient funds and I have requested my money back…The check writer was Veronica Reilly who wrote two checks one for $10,000 and the other for $9,800 with Mountain America Credit Union with phone number [protected] she is a subscriber to Francelle Maria music supported by Alan Jackson I had nothing to with this transaction. I did not request these two insufficient funds checks…

Desired outcome: Return my $100 and clear my Merrill Edge because I was the one complaining for fake checks. Also in in 2021 Merrill Edge failed to clear of my 1099 R because of hackers etc…

Merrill Edge Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Merrill Edge

Merrill Edge is a company that I have had the displeasure of dealing with. I must say that their customer service is not up to par. It is quite frustrating to deal with them. You can expect to be on hold for over an hour before you can speak to anyone. Although they try to be nice, they are unable to fix anything beyond what can be done online. If you try to escalate your situation to a supervisor, they will tell you that they will get back to you, but they never do.

In my opinion, there is no advantage to dealing with Merrill Edge over other companies like Fidelity, Charles Schwab, or Morgan Stanley. These companies provide much better customer service to their clients. I would advise anyone to do themselves a favor and bank elsewhere.

It is quite disappointing that Merrill Edge does not value their customers enough to provide them with the service they deserve. It is important for companies to understand that customer service is a crucial aspect of their business. If they cannot provide good customer service, they will lose customers to their competitors.

In conclusion, I would not recommend Merrill Edge to anyone. Their customer service is nonexistent, and there are much better options available. It is important to do your research before choosing a bank or investment company to ensure that you receive the best service possible.

Merrill Edge False Advertising and Poor Service: My Disappointing Experience with Merrill Edge

I recently opened an account with Merrill Edge and I must say, I am quite disappointed with the service I have received so far. I was not informed that the money I was depositing was coming from Bank of America, which has caused some issues after 90 days. It would have been helpful if someone had explained this to me beforehand.

Additionally, I was promised promotion money as a new customer, but it seems like Merrill Edge is not interested in fulfilling their promise. This is false advertising and it is not fair to the customers who trust them with their money.

I am quite unhappy with the brokerage and I feel like I have been lied to. It is frustrating that I cannot reach out to them directly, so I am posting this review in hopes that they will respond and give me the promotion money that I was promised.

I have wasted a lot of time and money with Merrill Edge during the past 90 days and it is all because of their false advertising and trickery. They need to take responsibility for their actions and make things right for their customers.

Overall, I would not recommend Merrill Edge to anyone who is looking for a reliable brokerage. They need to improve their communication and customer service if they want to keep their customers happy.

Merrill Edge Disappointing Experience with Merrill Edge: Slow Website, Poor Research Tools, and Terrible Customer Service

I decided to give Merrill Edge a try since I've been a Bank of America customer for a long time. I also have an account with Fidelity, so I thought it would be interesting to compare the two. Unfortunately, my experience with Merrill Edge has been pretty bad so far.

First of all, the website is painfully slow. It takes forever to load pages and navigate through the different sections. This is a big problem for me since I like to check my investments frequently and make trades when necessary. With Merrill Edge, it feels like I'm wasting a lot of time just waiting for the site to respond.

Another issue I have with Merrill Edge is the research tools. They're just not very user-friendly. It's hard to find the information I need and the interface is clunky and confusing. In contrast, Fidelity's research tools are much more intuitive and easy to use.

One of the most frustrating things about Merrill Edge is the alerts system. I've set up alerts for certain stocks and markets, but they often come hours after the event has already happened. This defeats the purpose of having alerts in the first place.

Finally, the customer service at Merrill Edge is pretty terrible. If you need to talk to a human, be prepared to wait on hold for at least 45 minutes. This is unacceptable in my opinion. I want to be able to get help quickly and efficiently, but that's just not possible with Merrill Edge.

Merrill Edge Terrible Experience with Merrill Edge: Account Closed Without Explanation

I had a really bad experience with Merrill Edge. They shut off my online access for no reason and never told me why. They even closed my account without giving me any explanation. I think it was because someone deposited a personal check into my account. I guess that's a big no-no. But they didn't tell me that. They just shut me down.

I tried to get in touch with them to find out what was going on, but it was impossible. They kept telling me that my access would be back on in a few hours or the next day, but it never happened. I spent hours and hours on hold with their customer service, but they never gave me any answers.

Finally, after three weeks, they wired the money back to its bank. But they still haven't seen it. I have no idea what's going on because my access is still off. Merrill Edge lied to me for three weeks and treated me like garbage. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, not even my worst enemy.

Merrill Edge Merrill Edge 401K Account Closure Nightmare: Frustrating Customer Service and Inability to Wire Funds to Australia

I had to close my Merrill Edge 401K account because I moved to Australia and became an Aussie citizen. I asked Merrill to wire the funds to my Australian bank account because no Australian financial institution accepts a check in US$. But what did Merrill do? They sent me a check in US$ that I can't do anything with. I have spent over 10 frustrating and expensive hours on the phone from Australia trying to get customer service to solve the issue, but instead they transfer me or give me useless advice like "google how to deposit the check" or "open a bank account in the US". Is there anyone out there in Merrill world who can help me escalate and solve this? I mean, come on, I'm not asking for the moon here. Just a simple wire transfer to my Australian bank account. It's not rocket science. I thought Merrill was supposed to be a big, reputable financial institution, but they can't even handle a simple request like this. It's really disappointing and frustrating. I hope someone at Merrill can help me out soon before I lose my mind.

Merrill Edge Disappointing Experience with Merrill Edge's 529 Withdrawal Process

I've been trying to withdraw money from my 529 account to pay for my son's tuition fees since March 13th, 2023. It's been a week since then and I'm still shocked that I haven't been able to withdraw my money yet. Today is already Tuesday, March 21st, and I'm starting to feel the pressure of not being able to pay for my son's tuition fees on time. This lack of competence from Merrill Edge is seriously affecting my life. I'm now facing late charges on top of the tuition fees, and if I don't pay soon, Stanford University will drop my son's classes for non-payment. It's unbelievable how this situation is causing so much stress and inconvenience for me and my family.

I know that Merrill Edge doesn't care about my situation, but I still can't help but express my disappointment and frustration. I will not recommend Merrill Edge to anyone, and I'm seriously considering moving my money elsewhere. Merrill Edge Nightmare Experience with Merrill Edge: Unable to Cash Out IRA and Poor Customer Service

I've been trying to cash out my IRA for a long time now, and it's been a real hassle. Every time I call, I have to wait on hold for like 45 minutes to an hour, and then I just get the runaround. They keep saying they need more documents to verify that I don't owe child support, which is ridiculous because I'm 60 years old and my child support has been paid off for years. Merrill Edge Merrill Edge Review: Incompetent, Arrogant, and Unresponsive - Don't Trust Them with Your Money

I gotta say, Merrill Edge ain't all that great. My pops, who's 83 years old, got sold an annuity for $84,000 by these guys. He's had it for 12 years now, during some of the best times for the stock market, and with fees and a yearly payout of $5,000, they've managed to reduce the amount to $78,000. That don't seem right to me, and everyone else I talk to says the same thing. But when we try to get some answers, nobody wants to take responsibility. They just say that all investments come with risk, and that my dad should have read the 160 pages of legal jargon that came with the fund. Like, come on, who's got time for that?

And don't even get me started on trying to get in touch with these guys. Phone calls go unanswered, messages don't get returned, and if you do manage to get through to someone, they act like they don't know what you're talking about. It's like they're hiding something.

I'm telling you, if you've got any money with Merrill Edge, you better think twice. Get it out of there before it's too late. These guys are incompetent and arrogant, and they don't care about their customers.

Merrill Edge Merrill Edge Review: Limited Self-Directed Trading and Research

I'm an investor who's been using Merrill Edge for a while now. I've got over $1M invested with them and I have to say, the trading and research is just okay. It's not the best, but it's not the worst either. However, there's one thing that really bothers me about Merrill Edge - they don't let you be truly self-directed.

What do I mean by that? Well, they won't let you trade a lot of stocks that they deem not appropriate for you. And half of the stocks I try to invest in, they don't allow. Some of these restrictions make no sense at all. For example, they won't let you trade USO, NFTS, BTCS, JETS, and many more. If you want to invest in crypto-traded stocks, forget about it. And if you want to diversify your portfolio across the airline industry, forget about it too. They'll let you invest in Southwest, but if you want to diversify across the airline industry with an ETF like JETS, they won't let you do it. It's frustrating and seems arbitrary.

Because of these restrictions, I had to move over $1M to ETrade so I can place trades. It's a shame because I really wanted to stick with Merrill Edge, but their limitations just made it impossible for me to do so. If you're an investor who wants to be truly self-directed, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

I opened an account with Merrill because being promised that I could Buy & Sell OTC Pink Sheet Stocks online & with the App. I bought OTC Pink Sheet Stocks using the app as I still do with other brokers. Merrill changed their rules & would not support it while I am holding millions I can't trade & now stuck not delivered what was promised. Help me.
